So here we're almost at the end of the story, really wished I finished it before starting The Other Side of the Story but I had a burst of inspiration when imagining Bacon Bit's character and had to write it while it was in my head, but in this chapter we finally see what the root of Leo's problem was
With all the scientist goons now knocked out and Aran Ryan presumably about to beat the tar out of the Little Man, Glass Joe was now free to climb up the platform to free Dana from the sticky vines.
He saw the Mutant Doberman smiling weakly at him as he approached
"Oh Ma Chere…" Joe said as he finally reached the platform "I am so sorry...How I previously treated you...And you risked your life to protect me…"
He began to reach for the vines with the long knife
"The sap is like super glue…" Dana said "...If you touch it you'll get stuck yourself."
"Merci…" Joe said as he began carefully cutting through the vines that surrounded her body "...I should have you free in just a few minutes…"
The other boxers below turned their attention to freeing the Turtles, Great Tiger with his ability to float, took a machete from Von Kaiser (And Von Kaiser realizing why he had the gut instinct to bring the machete) and floated up to begin cutting the vines that had ensnared the Turtles.
Seeing Great Tiger's floating up close, Mikey said "Have you ever considered joining the Justice Force with those powers.
Great Tiger seemed to winch at the question and said "My...Powers are not enough to join them…" Actually it was more Great Tiger didn't want to use his powers for any purpose he didn't agree with which is something he knew he might have to do if he joined the Justice Force, really even though it seemed more selfish to use his powers for boxing at least Great Tiger knew he wouldn't be using his powers for something that was against his beliefs or code.
Leo was finally brought down just as Joe and Dana were coming down from the platform.
"Thank you…" Leo sighed, blushing with shame after how he had previously treated them, accusing them of horrible things… "I...I'm sorry for how I treated you...I...I think I have some explaining to do."
He told them that it seemed that their...Strange acts in their boxing matches had seemed to have triggered something in Leo, remembering the time he had to fight a warrior who called himself The Ultimate Ninja and he had to fight honorably despite his opponent not doing so…
The Boxers were very understanding, particularly Von Kaiser and Piston Hondo both seeing the Young Turtle had, had similar experiences to themselves.
"It is all right…" Von Kaiser said "...It can't be easy being so young and being given the immense responsibility of being the leader of your community...In fact you seem a little...How should I say...Frazzled...Having so many duties!"
The Boxers looked at each other, remembering how this all started because some of the Young Mutants wanted to become boxers and join the WVBA.
"In fact...We have a proposition to help...Lighten your workload…"
Just then Aran Ryan appeared, blowing on his now bruised knuckles as he had punched with bare fists, none of the boxers brought boxing gloves.
"Ah…" Aran sighed with pleasure "...Felt could to beat that little turd to a pulp!"
"Well where is he?" Von Kaiser asked
"On the catwalk where I left him!" Aran chuckled
"You were supposed to bring him so we could turn him other to the authorities!" Von Kaiser exclaimed
"Aw C'mon!" Aran protested "You don't really expect me to walk all the way back…"
The rest of the boxers folded their arms and glared at him
"All right, all right…" Aran grumbled "...I'll go get his carcass…"
But the Little Man while bruised and bloodied, still had one last trick to save himself from being hauled before a human rights tribunal! He pushed a button on his belt for emergencies, which would cause the vines (At least what remained of them) To explode spilling their sticky sap whoever was below!
Everyone screamed as they were near drowned in sap!
DUN DUN DUN! So yeah, not quite the penultimate chapter as there should be two more after this one, just wanted to leave on that good cliffhanger
