I forgot to mention last chapter that I can't find the rendition of Lilium from Mayu's backstory scene anywhere on youtube. If any one knows where to find it, could you please tell me? If one exists. Anyway, onto the reaction!

"I honestly don't know." Lucy says. "The people across the water likely know more about our species than we do."

"Thought it goes without saying a lot of their information is flat out incorrect." Kouta throws in.

"Yes. We're good Diclonius!" Nana exclaims.

Open on Bando.

"This asshole again." Yuka grumbles.

Scientist: Slowly, open your eyes.

Bando complies.

Scientist: How is it?

Cut to Bando's POV, everything is yellowed.

Bando: I can see you, but everything is blurred.

Scientist: As you grow accustomed to it, it should get a little better.

Bando: A little better? Great.

Bando looks to his hand. He moves some of his fingers to hear machine sounds as they move. Just where the wrist is shows the mechanical parts underneath.

Scientist: Its the most advanced artificial hand on the market.

"I have to say, the prosthetic hand alone is impressive if it's controlled by nerve impulses." Kouta admits. "But the eye prosthetics... how come I've never heard of these being given out world wide for those that need them?"

"They're a shadowy organization, they're probably tight lipped about everything. Even on discovery's that can help improve quality of life." Yuka explains.

Nana meanwhile, feels a little jealous that Bando was able to control his hand the normal way, while she would forever be relying on her vectors to make her limbs move.

Bando: I'm impressed.

Scientist: We did all we possibly could for you.

Bando: Yeah, and all you ask for in return is my balls.

The scientist grabs something from his desk which he hands to Bando.

Scientist: Take these.

Bando: What are they?

Its revealed to be two small pills.

Scientist: They're sedatives. Since we're about to begin the operation to amputate.

Bando chuckles before taking the sedatives from the scientist.

Bando: You don't waste any time. Hey!

Scientist: Yeah?

Bando: My new toy, how much do you think this thing can handle?

Scientist: If you're talking about weight, it can lift up to 50Kg. And as for pressure and sudden impact it can withstand-

Bando suddenly drops the sedatives and punches the scientist hard in the face. The nurse nearby cowers in fear.

"I guess they're finally about to realize the repercussions of hiring a psychopath like him." Yuka snidely comments.

Bando: Whoops, gotta be more careful.

Bando looks to the nurse.

Bando: This new toy, think its gonna come in handy.

The nurse cowers as if expecting to be hit, but Bando jumps out the window, breaking the glass and landing in some bushes.

Bando: Shit. I gotta get some weapons while my SAT clearance is still valid.

With that, he runs off.

Cut to Yuka drying her hair. She notices Kouta slowly heading toward the front door.

Yuka: Hey, Kouta. Where are you going?

Kouta: I don't know. I'm still really worried about Nyu.

Lucy's face warps to one of confusion. Kouta's tone of voice sounded almost robotic. What was causing it?

Yuka: Are you thinking about going back to the school?

Kouta: Its not too late. And I'm hoping Professor Kakuzawa will still be around.

Yuka: Then, I'm coming with you.

Yuka attempts to leave to get ready but is stopped by Kouta's words.

Kouta: Don't. I'll go alone. I think it's safer that way.

Yuka: But-

Kouta: Its cold out there, and your hair's wet. I don't want you getting sick.

Yuka: ...okay.

The door opens.

Kouta: I'll be fine. Just wait here, I'll be back.

'He won't face her? Why?" Mayu also notices the unusual behaviour.

Yuka: Yeah, sure.

Kouta walks out and closes the door.

Yuka: ... You jerk.

"Huh." Kouta exclaims. "I'm a jerk for not wanting you to get sick?"

"No." Yuka sighs with annoyance.

Cut to Arakawa walking into the Professors office.

Arakawa: Good evening.

She walks in and places a bag of cup noodles onto one of the desks.

Arakawa: Professor? Oh great, he asks me to come in and he's not even here! I didn't even have time to take a shower.

She notices Nyu's ribbon on the floor.

"I must have be slipping. Then again, I didn't know I was wearing a ribbon." Lucy comments.

"Thankfully its not something that could lead the Institute to us." Mayu assures her.

Arakawa: Whats this!

She crouches down and picks it up.

Arakawa: A ribbon? That's strange.

As she is investigating, the door opens up behind her. Arakawa looks to it to see Kouta. She screams and scampers back up.

Kouta: I'm sorry.

Arakawa: Oh my God! You scared me half to death! What are you doing here?

Kouta: Um, is Professor Kakuzawa here?

Arakawa: He scheduled a meeting with you? This late at night?

Kouta: Sort of, yeah.

Arakawa: Okay...

She walks past Kouta to the door they both came in.

Kouta: Uh, hold on!

Arakawa: He's probably working down in the basement.

Kouta: Basement?

Arakawa: There's a laboratory there. When he wants to be alone, that's where he goes.

"I'm still trying to wrap my head around the fact this inhumane organization was working in our school." Yuka says.

"Tell me about it." Kouta agrees. "Who knows what else they were holding in the basement. For all we know, its more kidnapped dicloniuses!"

"Dicloni is what you say when referring to multiple." Lucy supplies for him. "And I didn't feel any of them in the school.

Cut to the two walking down to the laboratory.

Arakawa: So, what did you need to see him about?

Kouta: Uh, well, I found this missing girl and left her with him to look after her, but I started to worry.

Arakawa chuckles a little.

Arakawa: Well, I can see why that would make you worry.

Kouta: He told me that the girl was his niece. His younger brother's daughter, and so I 5ought that-

Arakawa: Well then, sounds like you were fooled.

Kouta: Wha?

Arakawa: The professor doesn't have a younger brother.

Kouta: ...damn.

"The assistant doesn't seem fazed that her boss seemingly lied to get Lucy." Mayu mutters.

"Strange..." Nana agrees.

Cut to some girl walking alone in the night.

Four of the group seemed confused at what this had to do with what was going on.

'Oh... I remember this.' Lucy gloomily thinks. She held no ill will toward the girl and she technically didn't kill her... 'But she still died because of me...'

Girl: Man, I'm exhausted. I'm not cut out for this. Stupid part time job. The manager will never notice my work, that perverts too busy staring at my butt. It's sexual harassment!

The girl notices Lucy coming the other way and gasps.

Girl: Was I talking to loud. I hope not.

"Did you hear her?" Nana curiously asks.

"Yes, it was very uncomfortable." Lucy answers

The two silently pass each other, but once they are both out of frame, a vector surges for the girl.

Cut back to Kouta and Arakawa.

Kouta: All these laboratory's, whats the Professor researching?

Arakawa: A rare disease that causes humans to grow horns.

Kouta: WHAT!

Arakawa: Stop scaring me.

"Sure is jumpy." Lucy comments. "Almost like she knew her boss's corpse was down there."

"Maybe that's just who she is." Mayu supplies.

Kouta: Oh, yeah, sorry.

Arakawa take a moment to breath.

Arakawa: Professor Kakuzawa is working to develop a vaccine intended to curb the spread of the disease.

Kouta: A disease like that, I've never heard of it.

Arakawa: Of coarse not, its highly contagious. Patients that display the horn symptoms are immediately quarantined. If it were to spread...

Kouta: ...uh... what would happen?

'Humanity would be put at risk.' Yuka thinks. 'Even if all the Diclonius behave, that won't change the facts that most born would be that's no excuse to indiscriminately kill them. If these two keep their vectors to themselves, it should be fine. I guess that's one way the vaccine would help if it were created.'

Arakawa simply looks away.

Arakawa: Here's the lab.

Cut back to one of Lucy's vectors through the girls brain. It then leaves and the girls eyes lose their light and she collapses to the ground. Dead. Lucy puts a hand to her forehead.

Everyone gasps as the needless death. Before anyone can say anything about it, Lucy's words send their minds in another direction.

Lucy: I can't... control them.

The others look nervously to Lucy. The Diclonius senses their anxiety.

"Don't worry, I have full control of my vectors again." Lucy assures them. "The thing that took control from me is gone." She says the last part softly, though the group can still hear her.

'Thing that took control?' Kouta questions. 'All the murders that happened before father and Kanane, was she being MADE to do those things?'

Cut back to Kouta and Arakawa in the laboratory.

Arakawa: Guess the Professors not around, though why did he leave all the lights on?

Kouta: Nyu!

Arakawa: Who's Nyu?

Kouta: Are you in here!

Arakawa approaches another door. She opens it and looks into the dark room.

Arakawa: Professor?

The two walk into the room.

Arakawa: I wonder where he could have gone to.

Arakawa continues walking forward until she accidentally kicks Kakuzawa's head.

Arakawa: Huh? Looks like he dropped a specimen.

Kouta gasps, realizing the situation.

Arakawa: What is it! You really have to stop scaring me like that!

"How did you spot the body before the Professors Assistant?" Yuka asks. "She was basically right beside it."

"I think I was simply more adjusted to the low light and she just wasn't looking in the direction of the body. She was looking around for Kakuzawa as if he wasn't laying on the floor." Kouta answers.

Kouta only slowly points towards the professors headless body. Arakawa looks worried as she scans the body. She looks down and realizes the specimen was his head. Both Arakawa and Kouta scream in horror.

"S-Sorry You has to see that." Lucy apologizes to Kouta.

Arakawa: Thats right! This is how they kill! They may still be around here... or worse, they've gotten away.

Kouta: Why did the Professor have horns.

Arakawa: How should I know! You were wondering, what did they do with the patients after quarantined? Why haven't you heard of survivors before?

Kouta: What? Y-yes.

Arakawa: We isolate them and kill them. Because if we don't kill them they'll kill us like this. But why did the Professor have horns! It doesn't make any sense!

"Is she not aware of the ones being kept prisoner?" Kouta questions.

"I don't think so. She didn't show any surprise when talking about Lucy having escaped, so she must be aware." Yuka says.

"Strange. She gave off the impression of such a nice person." Kouta says.

"To humans, maybe." Lucy mutters.

"Oh to be fair, I wouldn't have expected the institute to trust her with that secret." Yuka explains. "She wouldn't need to know about the live Diclonii subjects since she is only workingon a vaccine and nothing more."

Nana nodded. "She even told Kouta about us, even though she's not supposed to."

Kouta: It can't be... Nyu.

A flash of white shoes in a puddle of blood. A drop of water falls into the puddle.

Lucy undergoes another flash of panic. The show was getting closer to the truth.

'That flash...' Yuka realizes. ' Was that... Kanae on the train, the day she died?' That was the only explanation Yuka had. There was blood at her feet joined by what Yuka had assumed was a tear at seeing her father murdered.

Kouta clutches his head in agony and bumps into the door. His pain is brief.

Arakawa: You go home. I'll take care of this mess somehow. Things will get complicated if there is a student involved. Get out of here, okay.

Kouta: Alright.

Arakawa: Hey listen, don't tell anyone what you saw tonight. You understand.

Kouta wordlessly walks off. Arakawa looks in his direction.

'That's why Kouta was so strange before he went to the professors!' Yuka realizes. 'And why, when he came back! It had something to do with his amnesia kicking in to help protect him.' Looking over to Kouta, she notes he is perfectly fine. 'Does that mean... he remembers everything?'

Arakawa: I sure hope he listened. Well, I can't blame him for being shocked. No one should have to see this. But what am I supposed to do now?

Arakawa takes out her phone.

Arakawa: Guess I better check with our sponsors before calling the police.

Cut back to the Maple Inn where Kouta walks through the front door. Yuka sits nearby, waiting.

Yuka: So how did it go?

Cut the Inns dinning room.

Yuka: Just as I thought, the Professor and Nyu weren't there, were they.

Kouta: The Professors assistant was there but...

Yuka: I know! We can talk to the Professor tomorrow!

Kouta: We can't...

Yuka: Why can't we?

Kouta: Because Professor Kakuzawa was-

A flash of Kakuzawa's severed head and the white bloodstained shoes appear again. Kouta, seemingly terrified, clutched at his head.

Kouta: Professor Kakuzawa was...

Yuka: What wrong?

As if a switch was flipped off, Kouta stopped panicking and appear very subdued.

Kouta: I'm sorry, what was I saying? Just now?

Looking at the situation before, it was so obvious to Yuka what was going on. The panic attack followed by the complete cluelessness were dead give always that something unspeakable had happened. Some in the audience didn't quite figure this out.

"Why didn't you tell her that Kakuzawa's son was dead?" Nana asks.

"Oh, Uh, I Uh, had something called dissociative amnesia that made me forget that." Kouta explains.

"Dissociative amnesia...?" Nana says to herself.

"Something else for you to learn while you get caught up to grade level." Mayu tells her.

Yuka: How am I supposed to know?

Kouta abruptly gets up.

Kouta: Sorry, I'm going to bed now. Somehow, I don't feel like myself.

Yuka watches with confusion as he leaves the room.

Cut to Director Kakuzawa's office. Kakuzawa is looking out the window as Kurama stands behind him.

Kakuzawa: My son has been killed.

Kurama: I have received the report.

Kakuzawa: Only Lucy could have been behind that kind of carnage.

"Could have been another Diclonius." Mayu throws out.

"Right, but I think he is just getting desperate now." Lucy says. "His higher ups will probably give him shit if I'm not back in a cage or dead. Hell, I hope they already have. It's the least he deserves."

Kakuzawa turns slightly to look at Kurama, outrage in his eyes.

Kakuzawa: What have you been doing all this time!

Kurama: Since Number 7's battle there've been no mysterious deaths in the area where Lucy disappeared. There's no way to track her.

'So as long as there are no deaths that can be attributed to a Diclonius, they won't start poking around here again.' Yuka thinks as she eyeballs the Diclonius In the room. Nana wouldn't hurt a fly, and Lucy hasn't expresses any desire to kill anyone. Though that didn't make Yuka safer considering the latter would likely kill if provoked, even if they do deserve it.

Kakuzawa: I've head that sipilet #7 grew very attached to you.

Kurama: #7 has been decommissioned, sir.

Cut to Kurama holding his bloody tie.

Nana wished she could express to Papa that it was alright to kill her if need be, before she fell asleep. It might have made him feel a little better and he wouldn't have gotten in trouble and they wouldn't have sent Mariko and he wouldn't have died. Then, Nana realized another event that wouldn't have taken place if all that happened.

'I never would have met my family...'

Kakuzawa: Even though she never used her vectors against humans, number 7 was no exception to the pattern. Don't let yourself forget that. Diclonius born from carriers are dangerous predators, unable to reproduce, capable only of killing.

Kouta could not fathom how anyone could look at Nana's passive and all smiles behaviour and call her a killer.

"Kakuzawa is one heartless son of a bitch." He muttered.

Cut back to Kakuzawa's office.

Kakuzawa: They're laboratory specimens and nothing more. Don't get the wrong idea, Kurama.

Kurama: Yes sir.

With that, he leaves. Kakuzawa huffs.

Kakuzawa: Such a fool.

"He's more than heartless! He's like an evil villain on those shows that Mayu showed me." Nana says. "The way he says, "Such a fool"."

"It'll be almost comedic if he had an evil laugh or something." Kouta adds.

When Kurama steps out of Kakuzawa's office, Shirakawa is waiting for him.

Shirakawa: I hope it went well.

The two walk together.

Kurama: Even though his own son just died, he didn't let his emotions surface for instant.

"Bastard didn't care." Mayu answers.

Shirakawa: Hey Chief, I've been meaning to ask you something for awhile.

Kurama: What is it?

Shirakawa: You never talk about your family.

Shows a few flashes of a pregnant woman, then the woman in a hospital bed, clutching someones's hand. Kurama's eyes look onward in painful remembrance as a heart monitor can be heard. The screen then shows a baby's arm. It then shows Kurama overlooking the baby, obscuring their head from the screen.

Kurama: My daughter is dead.

Shirakawa lightly gasps.

Shirakawa: I had no idea.

Kurama: I killed her with my own hands.

Shirakawa's gasp is now one of surprise.

The others gasp in the same disbelief and horror as Shirakawa except for the two Diclonius's.

"He- his own daughter..." Kouta gets out, unable to fathom how a father could do such a thing.

"Why... why do something so horrible?" Mayu asks the empty air. She was no stranger to parent- child cruelty, but this was on a whole new level.

"And we thought Bando was the psychopath." Yuka says. "I would say this guy makes him look like a joke in comparison."

Kurama: My wife, who saw the killing, committed suicide. Do you have any other questions?

Shirakawa: No, I don't.

Kurama walks ahead as Shirakawa looks disturbed.

Cut back to Maple Inn as Kouta appears to be washing his face. Yuka walks up behind him.

Yuka: Are you... going to go look for Nyu?

Kouta: Yeah.

Yuka: But wait, isn't she staying at the Professors?

Kouta: No. Nyu's already run away from there.

Yuka: How do you know?

Kouta: I don't know. I just have a strong feeling about it.

'So Kouta represses the memory, but he still knows part subconsciously.' Yuka would have been useful to look out for again, but with Kouta's dissociative amnesia out of the question it wasn't important now.

Lucy looks at the Kouta at the screen with a kind of longing. 'Does that mean... even back then... he had feelings for me? No. Don't be stupid. He may have cared for me, but he'll never have feelings for his family's murderer.'

Yuka turns away.

Yuka: Listen, uh...

Kouta: What is it?

Yuka: Do you think it'd be okay if I came with you? To look for Nyu?

Kouta: Yeah. We can go together.

Yuka: Really! It's okay if I come along!

Kouta: Yeah, of coarse it is.

Cut to show Mayu in the doorway.

Mayu: Excuse me, did I hear you say that Nyu is missing?

Kouta: Yeah. She'll be fine. She came back last time, remember?

"I wasn't there last time." Mayu brings up.

"Sorry. Guess I got the timeline mixed up." Kouta apologizes.

Yuka: Forget all about it and go to school.

Mayu: Okay then, see you later!

Mayu turns back and runs out, Wanta barking while following her.

Cut to Mayu walking along the sidewalk near the beach. She looks to her left.

Mayu: Oh, it's that guy.

The camera reveals that she had spotted Bando.

"What made you want to go back and talk to him?" Lucy questions Mayu. "Even without knowing who he is as a person, you can tell by looking at him that he's not someone you want to get involved with."

"I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt." Mayu answers.

It then shows a shot of the littered beach? Bando puts a cigarette in his mouth.

Bando: This water's always dirty, its disgusting.

He then notices Mayu approaching.

Bando: What do you want?

Mayu: Glad to see that you're okay!

Bando's jaw drops in surprise. His cigarette falls from his mouth.

Bando: It couldn't be! Are you the girl from that night in the rain?

Mayu only smiles and nods.

Bando: Oh man, you've got to be kidding me. I was saved by someone like you, thats impossible.

Nana giggles slightly at Bando's gobsmacked expression.

Mayu: It looks like you recovered from your injuries. I'm happy for you.

Bando: Look runt, thats none of your business. But out.

Bando then gets closer to Mayu.

Bando: Okay, what can I do for you?

"That should have been your first clue." Yuka says.

"No one who talks in that tone of voice is friendly." Lucy agrees.

"Well... it was too late to turn back now." Mayu continues to defend herself.

Mayu: What?

Bando: I do not like being in debt to anyone. Especially to a little brat like yourself.

Mayu: You don't have to worry about it.

Bando: I'm not doing it for you, kid. This is for me.

"Good to see that he's got SOME semblance of honour." Kouta says. The others look at him increndiously. "Not that I'm defending him." He clarifies.

"I guess that is true." Lucy admits. "He's still a bastard, though."

With that, Bando takes out a small note book and begins writing in it. Once he is finished, he rips the page out and hands it to Mayu.

Bando: Take it.

Mayu takes it.

Mayu: Is this... are you giving me your number?

Bando: You can reach me anytime.

Mayu: But for what?

Bando: If anybody gives you any trouble just call me. I'll fucking kill em for you. Okay? That should even the score. Got it?

Mayu: Sure.

Bando: See you later.

Everyone sighs in relief that Mayu made it through the encounter unhamred.

Bando turns and walks the other direction before stoping, as if remembering something.

Bando: By the way, you haven't seen a bitch with horns out on this beach, have you?

Mayu: Are you talking about Nyu?

"Wrong answer." Nana breaths, wondering how her friend would get away from the psychopath.

The clouds above begin to start rumbling, signalling a storm is coming.

Cut to some shrines where it is a total downpour.

"You decided to look for Lucy at that sight?" Mayu questions."Unless you took Nyu there off screen before I came to the Inn, why check there?"

"We didn't, but we thought it was the next best option." Kouta explains.

"We tried the beach, around the school, and the market, but she wasn't anywhere there. Good thing we found her here." Yuka adds.

"It's lucky that you two didn't run into Bando when you were checking the beach." Nana says.

"Yeah. I think we looked there before he got his prosthetics and went on the run." Kouta says.

Yuka screams in surprise.

Kouta: Are you alright?

It then shows Kouta pulling Yuka up off the ground.

Yuka: Oh, I got mud all over my skirt!

Kouta: You know, this rain came out of no where.

Kouta looks behind himself.

Kouta: Hey, lets wait there until it lightens up.

The two the run toward the area where Kouta was pointing as the rain continues to bear down on them. The screen shows many of the statues around the shrine until settling on Kouta and Yuka sitting near a wooden shed, protected from the rain.

Kouta: Doesn't look like its gonna stop raining for awhile.

Yuka starts shivering.

Kouta: Are you cold Yuka?

Yuka: No, I'm okay.

Kouta: You're shivering.

Yuka: I told you, I'm okay.

Kouta then grabs Yuka and pulls her in close as the camera quickly zooms the other way onto another statue.

"That's an odd choice." Kouta mumbles about the camera's movement.

It then shows the two hugging, Yuka sitting atop Kouta's lap.

Kouta: At least this is a little warmer, right?

Yuka: But my skirt... I'm getting mud all over your pants.

Kouta: Heh, so I'll get muddy. So what?

The two are silent as the rain continues on. Several more shots of the historic sight are shown. Kouta them sighs and Yuka quickly shifts around.

Kouta: Is something wrong?

Yuka: No, no, I'm fine.

More silence.

Mayu waited, eager to see what Yuka would do. Would she maybe confess to Kouta? It was obvious she had feelings for him. She then looks at her couch companions, specifically at Kouta. 'Well, obvious for most.'

Kouta didn't know what to think for what was coming up. While it was true that he did have strong feelings for Yuka, he also had those same feelings for Lucy. The TV might force him to chose when he's not ready if it shows him kissingboth women, Lucy on the stone steps.

Yuka: Um, hey Kouta?

Kouta: Hmm?

Yuka: Do you think you um... like me?

Mayu mentally facepalms. 'Smooth.'

"I like you Yuka." Nana says. "Everyone here likes you."

Meanwhile, Lucy cringed. 'What was that?!'

Kouta's eyes widen and Yuka's follow suit, realizing what she had said. She then quickly covers her mouth.

Yuka: Nothing, forget I said anything.

Kouta: Sorry. I'm sorry, I know it hurst you but I don't remember the last time we were together as kids, it was such a long time ago.

Yuka: Oh Kouta...

Kouta: But still, I haven't forgotten that I liked you then and I like you now.

Yuka then takes Kouta and kisses him on the lips. The two sit there kissing.

'Yes!' Mayu squeals on the inside.

Lucy forced herself to watch, thinking that looking away would seem strange to the others and it was something she didn't want to explain if asked. However, she did look to the others to see their reactions. Mayu and Yuka's where one of bliss where Nana's where of confusion. Did she not know what kissing was? Kouta's meanwhile was one of... conflict?

It then cuts back to the beach as Mayu screams out in pain. Bando then hoists Mayu up by her collar.

"Damn, Bando. Ruining the moment." Yuka inaudibly growls.

Mayu: What are you doing to me?!

Bando: Look! Tell me where the hell she is! I came a long way to this shit hole town for one reason; I'm gonna put a bullet in that fuckin bitch! And if you aren't straight with me I'll fuckin kill you too!

Mayu: I- I don't know where she is! My big brother said he saw a girl like that the other day at school!

Bando then bitch slaps Mayu.

Bando: Don't insult my intelligence. Five minutes ago you were calling her Nyu! I've killed woman and I've even killed children. Don't think for a minute I'll have mercy on you.

Mayu then holds Bando's phone number up to his face.

Bando: What the hell is this?

Mayu: Somebody's picking on me. Somebody really big, I need your help.

"Smart. I would have never thought of that." Kouta comments.

"But will it work?" Lucy questions.

Bando: Huh?

Wanta meanwhile, tries to tug at Bando's pants as if it would get him to stop attacking Mayu.

Mayu: You promised to help me when I'm in trouble. Isn't that what you said? Guess you were lying. Not much of a man, huh?

Lucy and Yuka smiled in approval of Mayu's choice words for him.

Bando takes a moment to consider her words before throwing her onto the sand.

Bando: Shit.

Bando wipes his shoe on Mayu.

Bando: You better hope I never see your face again!

"I never would have thought it would work." Yuka breaths in relief.

"Guess we should be thankful that he does have that little bit of honour Kouta mentioned." Nana agrees.

Wanta then comes whimpering up to Mayu as she gets back up.

Mayu: He's gonna kill Nyu. Why?

"Revenge is a powerful lure." Lucy says. 'And a dangerous one.'

She watches Bando walk away.

Cut back to the wooden structure in the shrine. The two separate from their kiss.

Yuka: I don't want you to forget. Not again.

She rests her head on Kouta's shoulder.

Yuka: And I never want us to be apart. I want you to know, where ever you go I will always be with you. I don't want... you to feel alone again.

'Aw. That's so romantic.' Mayu smiles. She wasn't usually a romantic, but she couldn't help but gush.

Kouta then takes Yuka, wipes her tears away and then kisses her.

Kouta chances a look at Lucy to see her barely contained pained expression. No one else seemed to notice.

As they kiss, the rain stops.

Kouta: Hey look, the rain stopped.

Yuka: Yeah, it did.

Yuka then begins to slip off of Kouta and the falls to the ground.

Kouta: Yuka!

Yuka's skirt is pulled up, revealing her red and white striped panties which she desperately tries to cover.

"At least it's an improvement over all the nudity." Yuka grumbles.

Kouta: They're... stripped.

"That's your first reaction?!" Lucy asks, back with a smile on her face.

Yuka the gets up and angrily walks towards him.

Kouta: Um... well... um...

Yuka then punch's him in the face while camera is focusing on a squirl.

"Kouta didn't do anything! It was an accident!" Nana accuses Yuka.

"Hey, if a guy see's our panties, it's our job to smack him out for it, regardless of thecircumstances." Yuka tells her.

"She's right..." Mayu grudgingly admits, somewhat saddened that the scene was ruined.

Kouta: Oh! ...but... why?

Cut to another part of the shrine, the place looking slick with the rain water.

Yuka: You know that happened because I slipped.

"As opposed to you deliberately falling off?" Lucy questions.

Kouta: What are you talking about?

Yuka: Nothing.

Yuka steps in a puddle and slips but Kouta catches her.

Kouta: Woah. Careful. All that rain made these steps slippery.

Yuka: Thanks for pointing that out.

Kouta: Where should we go to look for her next?

Yuka: Let me think... should we check the station?

Kouta: Where could she have gone? Doesn't she know that we're worried.

Cut to an extreme close up of looking looking down at something, saddened. Water drops from a statue as if it was a tear drop. There is audio of a boy crying out in distress, though what he is saying is indistinguishable.

Yuka was leaning toward the theory of Kouta and Lucy meeting on the train, since that HAD to be Kouta.

It then shows that Lucy is at the same location that the two are at. She turns and walks away, catching the attention of Kouta.

Kouta: Huh? Nyu!

He rushes up the stairs towards Lucy.

Kouta: Nyu! Where have you been all this time? Huh?

He grabs Lucy's shoulder.

Kouta: Thats right, you can't answer me even if I ask.

Lucy slaps his hand away.

Lucy: What are you talking about?

"Must have been weird, expecting Nyu but getting Lucy." Nana comments.

Yuka never actually heard what Nyu was saying at the time, but it was surprise enough for her now that it turns out it was another person the whole time and they never knew.

Kouta: You're talking now? When did this happen?

Yuka walks up from behind and takes Kouta's hand.

Yuka: She's acting a little strange. Do you think-

Yuka is hit by a vector, sending her flying away.

"So that was you!" Yuka exclaims. She the. Turns to Kouta. "Told you something hit me."

Lucy breathes a sigh of relief that Yuka wasn't hounding on her for that.

Kouta: Yuka!

Kouta runs up and kneels beside her.

Kouta: Its slippery, remember?

Yuka: That's not it. Something hit me, it really hurt.

Kouta: Nothing hit you, Yuka. Stop crying, you've got to set a good example for Nyu, right?

Lucy watches on.

What's with that look? All but Kouta and Lucy thought.

Lucy: Kouta...

She looks saddened before walking away again.

Kouta: Hey! Where are you going?

Lucy: I'm going home. I remembered everything.

Kouta runs back up to Lucy.

Kouta: You mean, your memory came back?

Lucy: Yes, which means I'm going to have to say goodbye.

Kouta: What are you saying! I know you don't have a place to go!

Lucy: I remember my home...

A flash of Lucy strapped down in the institute.

'Never again.' Kouta thought. 'I'll make sure she never gets sent there again. Nana too. She deserves happiness no matter who says otherwise. Even if she herself says otherwise.'

Lucy: ... I'll make a new home. Don't worry about me.

Anther flash of her strung up. Kouta then takes Lucy's shoulders and forces her to face him.

Kouta: What are you saying? Kaede house is your home, right?

Lucy looks stunned.

Lucy debates if and when she should tell the residents her real name, despite the fact that she has thrown it away. She eventually decides that she will eventually tell them. Maybe after the viewing?

Lucy: Oh Kouta...

She starts to cry.

Lucy: You really... don't remember?

'This lends more credence to my theory.' Yuka thinks. It would least narrows down the time period to THAT summer.

Kouta: What?

Lucy: I have no right.

She covers her face as the tears continue.

Lucy: I don't deserve to be with you.

Kouta: Don't deserve? Come on, what are you talking about?

Yuka approaches, though keeps her distance.

Yuka: Is Nyu crying? Whats wrong?

Lucy falls to her knees.

Lucy: Becuase... eight years ago I... Ko- tas!

Kouta staggers back.

'Lucy felt like she had no right to be with us over something that happened eight years ago...' Yuka puts together in her mind. Lucy and Kouta nervously look to her as she confirms that part of her theory. 'Lucy definitely had to have been on the train that night. Maybe while she and Kouta were getting acquainted, the murderer struck and killed father and Kanae and Lucy fought him. It would explain why Kouta survived. Maybe she feels guilty for not being able to save the rest of his family?

Yuka: What are you two talking about?

Lucy then lifts her head, revealing that Nyu has taken back control.

Nyu: Kouta. Kouta!

Nyu then leaps into Kouta's arms.

Yuka: Is she... like she was before?

Kouta: Looks like it.

Nyu then pulls away from Kouta.

Nyu: Cuddle.

Kouta: Huh?

Nyu: Kouta cuddle.

Kouta looks to Yuka.

Yuka: ...alright, just one time, go ahead.

Kouta hugs Nyu. Nyu meanwhile, looks on as if trapped in a memory. Children can be hear laughing and giggling in the background. Nyu starts crying again before returning the hug.

"Did she... remember a part of your past?" Kouta hesitantly asks.

"I think so. I was also partly conscious during that time so i remember Nyu crying and you hugging me." Lucy softly responds.

Nyu: Kouta.

Kouta: Don't worry, I'll always be with you. Now come on, lets go home.

The two continue to hug until Yuka looks fed up.

Yuka: How long do you plan to keep that up!

The camera cuts away again.

Kouta: But you said it was okay.

Yuka: Forget what I said, cut it out!

Yuka can be heard punching Kouta.

Kouta: Ow!

"That was uncalled for." Lucy frowns. What was with Yuka's habit of punching Kouta?

It then cuts to the beach at sunset which then cuts to a pod of sorts near the end of the beach. The pod hisses open, steaming up the area and within the steam, Nana emerges.

Nana: Where am I?

Kurama: Nana.

Nana: Papa?

Nana looks down to a device on the pod.

Kurama: The Director ordered me to kill you. I've decided to disobey his order and help you escape.

Nana looks to her new limbs.

Kurama: Soon enough, you'll learn to control these hands and legs.

Nana tries moving her fingers, but they bend in all the wrong ways. It then cuts to her struggling to move along the rock wall.

"Since vectors are just hands, wouldn't you be able to move your fingers as if they were naturally your hands?" Mayu questions.

"You would think so, but its more complicated than that. Besides, that didn't make moving my legs any easier." Nana says.

Kurama: Theres enough money in the bag to live for awhile. Go as far away as you can and live peacefully.

Nana finally falls with a cry. She lifts her head to reveal she is bleeding slightly.

Nana: A-A- Owch.

The others wince slightly.

Kurama: Be a good girl and I promise I'll come for you. I don't know how long it will take, but I'll be with you again some day. Take care of yourself until then.

Nana is silent for a moment.

Nana wished she could have taken that audio tape to have something to remember her papa by. When she went down to the breach to retrieve it, the pod was gone. Likely recovered by the institute.

Nana: Papa, what are you doing? Keeping me alive will get you in trouble and they're gonna-

A gun cocks.

Bando: Hey!

The screen reveals Bando pointing a gun at Nana.

Bando: So what the hell are those things sticking out of your head? Careful sweetheart, the wrong answer might get you killed. Nana's expression shifts to one of anger.

Episode ends.

"He's got quite a habit of pissing of Diclonius." Yuka says.

"Gonna end badly for him when he runs into the wrong one." Lucy quips.

ANs: So you may have noticed I changed and removed some things during the scene where Lucy attempts to confess to Kouta, mainly the flashbacks. This was done because A; They would kinda give away a lot about Lucy before her backstory to our watchers, and I don't want that so the reactions can be enhanced when they get to those scenes, and B; I think the episode would have been better without them for the same reasons among a few others. Hope you can forgive me for those little edits.
