Beginning AN: here it is the next chapter. for anyone that dislikes the way I type down my stories when I think of chapters completely on the fly you can finally relax since my collaborator storyreader21 has finally decided to help with this story. this chapter like Vermillion City is going to mix the anime and games. Ash will win on the first try but the part where the games come in is Team Rocket doing a raid on Silph Co. which forces Ash. Titania and friends to foil the operation. on with the story.
Chapter 8: Saffron City.
As the group entered Saffron City Titania frowned while looking around.
"I get the feeling we are being watched." Titania said looking around sensing psychic powers. "And it feels like it is from a psychic."
"Can you block them?" James said. "I think I heard the gym leader here is a psychic trainer that does one on one battles. It would be difficult to win if she is reading your mind."
Titania frowned. "Whoever it is is powerful. I can block them, but I won't be able to battle at the same time."
"That's alright." Ash said. "Athena can handle the battle while you protect our minds."
"Good thing you decided that." Jessie said. "Because we are here."
When they entered they saw an arrogant psychic student.
"Fools. Only psychics are welcome here." He said smugly while using his psychic powers to bend a spoon.
"Isn't this a Pokemon gym?" Ash asked. "It doesn't matter if I have psychic powers or not. My Pokemon are fighting not me."
The psychic had no response to that since it was true, and the group entered the gym, Meowth handing the psychic student a Rawst Berry for that burn.
Inside they found a puzzle, where they had to use teleportation discs to find the gym leader. Luckily Titania could sense where the discs led and could lead the way through the puzzle using first the only teleportation disc then the ones on the Upper Right, upper left, lower left, and lower left. Each room had a trainer they had to beat to continue which Ash beat with Artemis and Chang'e for the gym trainers to save Athena for the gym leader while Titania prevented anyone from reading any of their minds.
When they got to Sabrina they found her sitting on a chair holding a doll.
"I challenge you to a gym battle!" Ash said with a smile.
"Very well, but if you lose you must stay here and play with me." Sabrina said as Titania tensed.
"Shoot. Her mind is split. She is not sane." Titania muttered to herself as Sabrina sent out Abra, and Ash sent out Athena."
"This match is between gym leader Sabrina and her Abra versus Challenger Ash Ketchum and his Pikachu, Athena. The referee said. "Begin."
Athena started with Thunderbolt only for Abra to teleport away. Then do the same to avoid a Quick Attack.
"Looks like we need to get faster." Ash said. "Use Agility."
Before Athena could do so Abra suddenly appeared before Pikachu, and hit her with confusion before teleporting away.
"What?" Ash asked knowing Sabrina hadn't ordered any attacks. "Ah, telepathy."
Athena took the chance to use Agility while Sabrina was focused on Ash.
"Use Mirror Move into Thunderbolt." Ash said as Athena used a mirror move decided teleport behind Abra and hit him with a point blank Thunderbolt that left him on the brink.
Sabrina grimaced at that before smirking and spoke aloud. "Now."
Suddenly Abra evolved into Kadabra, and Ash developed a headache as Sabrina's mind reading battled Titania's mental shield inside his head.
Kadabra used Psybeam against Athena who dodged and used Thunderbolt only for Kadabra to catch it with psychic and send it back. Athena blocked with Light Screen and used Agility into quick attack to deal damage. Kadabra responded with Double Team, while Athena used Rain Dance to try to figure out which one was real. Unfortunately Kadabra changed the double teams to look like they are being affected by the rain so it did not work, and Athena kept getting battered by psychic type attacks while every thunderbolt she sent out hit a clone and not the real Kadabra.
Finally Athena was on her last legs and looked up to see every clone sending a Psybeam at her location and she didn't know which one was real. But she refused to give up and her sheer stubbornness worked in her favor twice over. First her grandmother is an Alolan Raichu, which is part psychic type. Combined with spending a lot of time around Titania, a powerful psychic type, and more recently Chang'e a legendary psychic type. Combined even more with being surrounded by incoming psychic energy she was able to tap into her own latent psychic potential and used Teleport to dodge. Second she then used Thunderbolt at what she was hoping was the real Kadabra. It wasn't, but it did not matter, her determination to win caused her to pour all her remaining power into the move, enough to turn the move into Thunder, a move that in the rain never misses, and Rain dance was still active so it hit all the copies of Kadabra and knocked the real one out as Athena landed on all fours barely awake, but she won.
"Athena is the winner." The referee said in shock.
"Sabrina was in shock as well, and Titania used that shock to use her psychic powers to force the sanity back into Sabrina.
When they left the gym with the badge to bring Athena to the poke center Ash had left behind Haunter who decided to stay with Sabrina and have his pranks stop her from back sliding. Ash had also temporarily left behind Titania since as thanks for restoring her sanity, Sabrina wanted to teach her a psychic ability that would only take a few hours to learn, though he did not know what the ability was it would be finished by the time Athena was healed.
When Ash and them picked up Titania afterwards they were curious
"What ability did Sabrina teach you?" Ash asked Titania.
"It is a surprise." Titania said with a small smirk. "I'll show you on the road to Celadon when no one is around."
"Probably a good idea." Meowth said. "Less people to see on the road."
Before continuing on to the next city they headed to Silph Co for a tour of the company only to narrow their eyes when they noticed it was being invaded by Team Rocket.
"Okay, Dawn, you only have one pokemon so you take the bottom floors. That will likely be the weakest team rocket members. Jessie, James you take the middle floors, and I'll take the highest floors since I have the strongest pokemon.
"Right." They said as they headed in and split up.
Dawn was the first to meet any team rocket members, a grunt with an Ekans. It tried to use poison sting only for Dawn to use Whirlpool to catch them and send them back before landing a peck for the win. This continued with several others that tried to use ranged attacks only for Piplup to send them back with whirlpool before landing another attack to finish them off, but eventually.
Jessie, James, and Meowth however were taking on the middle levels and came across Butch and Cassidy.
"Well if it isn't the traitors." Cassidy said. "I'm going to enjoy taking you two down."
"Biff and Cassidy." Jessie sneered sending out Arbok. "I thought we had seen the last of you."
"It's Butch!' Butch cried out but was ignored.
"Besides." James said sending out Golbat. "We turned ourselves in to not have to be continuously sent after someone that makes boss look weak."
"Sure we are now in her custody, but it is better then being against her." Meowth added.
"We'll see about that." Butch said sending out his pokemon, a Raticate. "We'll show you that Team Rocket is the strongest. And make you regret that."
"Then again weaklings like you don't belong in team rocket anyway." Cassidy said sending out a Golbat of her own.
Raticate started out with Bite only for Arbok to respond with Glare to paralyze him before he reached then got him with a Bite. Meanwhile the two Golbat had started an Aerial battle. Cassidy's Golbat used sludge bomb, only for James' Golbat to use Air Slash to cut through it and knock Golbat out of the air where he landed on Raticate and a double Sludge Bomb knocked them both out.
"And just think, while we have got stronger sparring with the trainer we joined, they have still never won a single battle or even come close." Meowth said as Golbat evolved into Crobat and James congratulated them.
Meanwhile Ash finally made it to the top floor. Along the way Artemis and Chang'e had taken out most of the grunts they came across by having Artemis carry Chang'e close with quick attack before Chang'e used Hypnosis to put them to sleep. Those that they missed Athena would teleport behind and hit with Thunderwave. All to save energy for the battle against the leader. They also smirked when they had got Gary with that as well.
When they entered the office they found the leader of Team Rocket standing in front of the silph co president.
"Ah, a trainer." The boss said noticing them. "I am Giovanni, the leader of Team Rocket The President and I are discussing a vital business proposition. Keep your nose out of grown-up matters...Or, experience a world of pain!"
"You are invading this company." Ash responded. "There is no way we will let that happen."
Giovanni then sent out Nidorino.
"You're up Titania." Ash said. "Use Psychic."
The powerful Psychic attack easily knocked out Nidorino as Giovanni sent out Nidoqueen.
"Knock them off balance with bulldoze then crush them with body slam." Giovanni said.
Titania responded by blocking bulldoze with protect then catching Nidoqueen in midair with psychic and knocking her out.
Giovanni's next pokemon was Rhyhorn.
"Megahorn." Giovanni called only for Titania to knock Rhyhorn out with magical leaf before he could use the move.
Giovanni's final pokemon was Kangaskhan.
"Fake Out into Crunch!" Giovanni called Only for Titania to block Fake Out with Protect before teleporting behind Kangaskhan and hitting them with a point blank Moonblast for the win. "What power...Blast it all! You ruined our plans for SILPH! But, Team Rocket will never fall! Never forget that all pokemon exist for Team Rocket! I must go, but I shall return!"
"You did it Titania! Not bad for a former human male, turned female pokemon." Ash cheered Titania on as Giovanni left not knowing he was close enough to hear and come up with a plan that would indirectly cause trouble for Ash in Celadon City.
After being thanked by the president of Silph Co. they met up with the others and talked about how it went.
"I did good with just Piplup." Dawn said, "But I think I need some more pokemon."
"We are heading to Celadon next so we have time." Ash said. "Plus Titania said she would show me what Sabrina taught her while we were on the road so you could catch a pokemon then."
"I think I will." Dawn said.
And with that they left the city. not knowing that the adventure in Celadon City will be felt across the world for many years to come.
Ending AN: that's the chapter. read and review but flame reviews will be ignored. anyone that wanted Dawn, Jessie and James to get more script sections just got their wish.
Next Time: Ash, Titania and friends arrive in Celadon City where like the anime Ash disses Perfume in Erika's Perfume shop and gets banned from the Gym as a result forcing him to call a temporary truce with Butch and Cassidy to disguise and sneak into the Gym to fight Erika. Butch and Cassidy have ulterior motives to do it. the results of the adventure will be felt for years to come.
