Our heroes have arrived in Hephas City. This is where Davis plans to earn his third badge.
Davis and the others have managed to to make it to Hephas City. They were planning to go straight to the gym, but there might be a problem. One trainer ran past them and practically knocked Davis over.
"Hey! Watch it!" Davis called
"Sorry! My Solosis needs help!" It looked like it was just that one trainer either. Others were running as they carried their digimon straight to the Pokemon Center.
"Look at that. It looks like all those trainers need to get their pokemon some help." Cletus said.
"We better check this out. This looks serious." Terra said. All of them agreed and hurried to check it out. By the time they got there, they saw some trainers and pokemon that were in need of help. This looked really serious.
I want to be the very best
Like no one ever was
To catch them is my real test
To train them is my cause
(Pokemon!)
Every challenge along the way
With courage I will face
I will battle every day to claim my rightful place
(Yeah!)
Pokemon
Gotta catch'em all
Oh, so true
Our courage will pull us through
You teach me, I'll teach you

(Davis' voice): Mind Over Mystery
"What is this? Do all of these pokemon really need help?" Terra said.
"I think so. They all don't look so good." Cletus said as none of them liked how this looked.
"Excuse me." Even Officer Jenny showed up as she walked passed them. If she's here, something serious must be going on. They had to know what was happening, and the best person to ask is Nurse Joy. That's why they all hurried to the back to find out what's going on. When they got there, they found Officer Jenny and Nurse Joy talking. "How many does this make?"
"Fifteen, and I'm afraid the number is just going to keep increasing." Nurse Joy said as she sounded most concerned.
"Nurse Joy..." Davis said as he and the others came out.
"I'm sorry. I'm a little backed up, but I'll get to your pokemon." Nurse Joy said.
"Actually, that's what we wanted to ask you." Terra said. "We just got to town. What's going on?"
"A strange and unnatural infliction is happening." Nurse Joy said. "Take a look." She brought them all into the back and showed some pokemon that were in bad shape. "Lately, pokemon have been found and coming in where it seemed like they had no energy. This Bronzor and Inkay can't even float, and this Sigilyph won't even fly. Even this Slowpoke doesn't have much."
"Slow..."
"Slowpoke?" Terra said. She looked right at it and got a weird feeling from just looking at it.
"But not all pokemon seem to be affected. I feel perfectly fine." Imperialdramon claimed.
"Wait a minute. There's one thing all these pokemon have in common with the ones that need treatment. All of them are psychic-types." Cletus pointed out.
"You're right. That's what I was thinking." Officer Jenny said. "Whatever is going on, it only seems to affect psychic-type pokemon."
"Why only psychic-types?" Terra questioned.
"that's what we'll have to figure out." Davis said. "I was hoping to have my gym battle once we got here, but it looks like that will have to wait." Seems like they have a mystery, but what's going on?
...
There was one other weird thing going on. A Gengar was hooked up to a strange machine. It was feeding the machine energy. The energy was sending out special waves all over the city. Who was controlling the strange machine? It was actually the works of the mysterious organization known as Team Twilight.
"How is it going? Any luck?"
"No sign of the target just yet, sir. However, we're still scanning most of the city. We have a lot of ground to cover." A grunt said. The one I charge had long red hair with the bangs held up like he had a mullet. He was also dress in purple with a cape like he was some sort of prince.
"Continue to scan. It's our job to find the target."
"As you wish, Sir Jarvis." The grunt said.
"As for you, my precious Gengar, you have done rather well so far. Keep it up." Jarvis said.
"Gengar." Jarvis walked to the edge of the building and looked out to the city.
"You won't hide. No matter how long it takes, we will find you." Jarvis said. He was looking for something and intends to find it.
...
Davis' Group
"Okay, so something is affecting all the psychic-types, but what could that be." Cletus said. All of them were working with Officer Jenny to try and figure out what was going on. "So, how can they all be affected?"
"I still don't get why psychic-types are being affected when everyone else is fine." Terra said. "What can psychic-types do that other pokemon can't?"
"Other than move stuff with their mind?" Davis joked.
"Wait. You might be on to something with that." Officer Jenny claimed. "Psychic-types are able to pickup on waves."
"Waves? They surf?" Davis questioned.
"Not that kind of wave, Davis." Cletus clarified. "She's talking about like radio waves, waves sent out by machines like satellite dishes."
"Are you saying a machine sending out special waves is doing all of this?" Terra questioned. "What kind of machine can do something like this?"
"If special waves are doing this, I think I have a device that can help." Officer Jenny said. She pulled out a device and was holding it out. "This device should detect wave energy in the air and find anything abnormal." She moved it around and the needle began moving. "I'm getting a signal."
"What are we waiting for. Let's check it out." Davis said. All of them got moving and tried to find the source of the waves. All of them kept moving around the city. Jenny kept trying to follow the signal, and it seemed to be getting stronger.
"There." Officer Jenny said as she saw the signal was growing even stronger and traced it to the top of a building. "Whatever is going on seems to be happening at the top of that building."
"Imperialdramon, go check it out." Davis said.
"I'm on it." Imperialdramon said as he flew off to see what was out there. He flew along the building and made it to the roof. When he did, he spotted Team Twilight and their strange machine. "Wait a minute. Those guys look like...
"Gengar, Dark Pulse!" Jarvis called.
"Gengar!" Gengar attacked without leaving the machine. Imperialdramon was taken by surprise as he was knocked out of the sky and crashed on the roof.
"It looks like someone got a little nosey." Jarvis said as he walked over to Imperialdramon.
"You look like those guys my friends and I encountered before." Imperialdramon claimed.
"Interesting. I've never seen a pokemon like you before, you can talk, and you seem to know about us." Jarvis said. "You're not what we're looking for, but you might be of use to us." Jarvis was ready to just take Imperialdramon, but then he heard something busting against the door. Then, Officer Jenny and the others came running in.
"Hold it right there!" Officer Jenny said. When they got a good look at them, Davis and the others were surprised when they saw the grunts.
"Hey! Those are the same guys we met at the ruins back in Ceruso City!" Terra said.
"Yeah. Team Twilight is what they called themselves." Davis said.
"Take a look at that." Cletus said as he spotted the machine. "That machine must be causing all of this, and it looks like that Gengar is powering it."
"That makes sense as to why only psychic-types are affected." Officer Jenny said. "You all are coming in with me for questioning."
"I don't think so." Jarvis said. "In fact, you all are just going to leave and forget what you saw. We won't allow anyone to interfere with our plans."
"You got some nerve considering your machine is hurting a lot of pokemon." Davis said with irritation. "Who are you anyway? Why are you dressed differently from the rest of these punks?"
"The name is Jarvis. Since you're clearly ignorant as to who we are, I am one of the Six Primordials of Team Twilight."
"Six Primordials?" Terra questioned.
"It seems like that guy is some sort of big shot in the organization. Last time, we only have to deal with a couple grunts." Cletus said.
"Also, we are not punks. We are the ones who is going to change this world. The world itself is going to go through an evolutions." Jarvis said. "As for what is happening to your pokemon, it is not our concern. Now you will leave or you will suffer the consequences for choosing to interfere with our plans."
"I think not! That machine of yours must be stopped!" Officer Jenny said as she took action. "Groundgle, use Mud Bomb on that machine!" She called as she released her pokemon to take action.
"Groundgle!" Once Groundgle came out, it fired a blast of mud right at the machine.
"Gengar, Night Shade!" Jarvis said.
"Gengar!" Gengar unleashed a dark ray from its eyes and was able to block the attack.
"Impressive, isn't it? Gengar can attack as long as it stays with the machine." Jarvis claimed. "This is what can be done with Team Twilight. Our power reaches far beyond that of you pedastrians. So, I say again, do not interfere with our plans or you will suffer the consequences for being so foolish."
"Quit talking like you're something important! To us, you're just punks that's making things difficult for people and pokemon." Davis said. "Imperialdramon, smashed that machine to bits with Brick Break!" Imperialdramon got back up and tried to attack, but Jarvis didn't seem the least bit concerned.
"Dark Pulse again!" Jarvis called. Gengar battled back again as it blasted Imperialdramon before his attack could land.
"Are you okay?!" Davis called.
"Yeah, but that Gengar sure is strong." Imperialdramon claimed.
"Now use Will-O-Wisp and chase these fools away!" Jarvis ordered. Gengar formed a series of blue flames and unleashed all of them right at Davis and all the others to try and keep them from interfering with their plans.
"That's enough! Pocub, come out and use Water Gun!" Terra called.
"Pocub!" Pocub came out and blasted the flames with water to try and stop them.
"Groundgle, try using Mud Bomb on that machine again!" Officer Jenny ordered. Groundgle tried attacking, but Gengar just simply used Night Shade again and blocked the attack.
"You can fight, but it's pointless." Jarvis claimed.
"Sir! We scanned through the city and there's still no sign of the target. It isn't here." One fo the grunts said.
"Fine. Pack it up. We're leaving." Jarvis ordered.
"You creeps aren't going anywhere!" Davis said, but Jarvis was fed up with this.
"Gengar, get rid of these fools by using Hex." Jarvis ordered. Gengar used its power and got a hold of them all in a telepathic ghostly hold. Once that was done, it send all of them flying through the air and away from the roof.
"Imperialdramon, do something!" Davis called.
"I got it!" Imperialdramon said as he tried to move fast. He grabbed a hold of everyone and they all tried to grab him. He managed to do it just before hitting the ground and pulled them all up. "Is everyone okay?!"
"I think so, but we can't let them escape!" Davis said. Imperialdramon flew back as best as he could, but it was too late. They were already gone.
"They cleared out fast." Cletus said. "They're already gone."
"I can't believe this." Terra said. "First, they attacked a poor Musharna. Now this? How cruel can these people be?"
"But it sounds like whatever it is they're after wasn't here." Officer Jenny claimed.
"They've made it clear that they won't let anyone get in there way." Cletus said. Davis doesn't like this one but, but what is Team Twilight after?
...
Team Twilight
"This is Jarvis reporting in." He said as he rode on their chopper and contacted some others. "I've ran into a few complications, but still no sign of the target."
"Very well. Continue your search as it is your task to find the target."
"I shall." Jarvis said as he is going to continue to go after his target, and put more and more people and pokemon in danger.
...
The Pokemon Center
"I'm happy to report that all the pokemon are recovering quite well." Nurse Joy said. Davis and the others came back to the Pokemon Center to see how all the pokemon were doing. It seemed like all was well as they were all fully of energy.
"That's great." Davis said as they were all glad to see they were all well again.
"It is...except for that one." Terra said with them looking right at Slowpoke. "It's just sitting there and seems to be acting like it doesn't have a thought."
"I wouldn't worry about that. Slowpoke are usually like that." Cletus said.
"Well, all is fine. I think it's time we finally head for my gym battle." Davis said as it seemed like everything is back to normal. Now that they have everything under control, all of them were able to head straight for the gym.
"Hold on a sec. We're being followed." Imperialdramon said. All of them looked behind them and saw Slowpoke was following them.
"Slowpoke..."
"Why is it following us?" Davis questioned.
"Maybe it wants to come with us?" Cletus questioned. "There does seem to be something off about it. Terra, maybe you should take it."
"Why would I want a dopey looking pokemon when I want fabulous pokemon?" Terra questioned. However, she ended up tripping and one of her pokeballs rolled away. "My pokeball!"
"Slowpoke." Slowpoke tapped against the ball to make it bigger, and then it just went inside with it being caught.
"What?! Now it's in my pokeball?!" Terra said.
"What a weird way to catch a pokemon." Imperialdramon claimed.
"Either way, you got Slowpoke, Terra." Davis said.
"Aw! I feel dumber having that pokemon in there." Terra complained as she wasn't a fan of this pokemon.
Our heroes managed to fend off the savage Team Twilight, but they escaped again. In addition to Terra catching Slowpoke, they've helped many pokemon. Now, get ready for Davis' upcoming gym battle.
