Husk reached into his pocket, pulling out his phone and scrolled through his gallery until he found the last photo he'd received from his daughter, showing her riding a blue-main Hell horse with her husband Bucky leading the horse by a rope. They were both wearing typical cowboy and girl attire; Hazel had her long, platinum-blonde hair up in pigtails and a hat that covered all but the tips of her horns.
"That your kid?" Husk looked to see Angel glancing over his shoulder. "Yep, that's Hazel, living her best life down in Wrath." Husk sighed. "Is that… is that your son-in-law?" Angel snickered. "Yeah, that's Bucky," Husk nodded, "I know he ain't the purdiest fella out there. But… Hazel loves the man, and he treats my daughter very well. That's all that really matters to me."
"If you say so, Husky." Angel laughed, wrapping an arm around Husk's shoulders and pulled him closer, "Gotta say, I'm flattered you asked me out for this. Meeting the family… that's a huge step for us, ain't it?" Husk chuckled, rubbing his shoulder and nodding. "So… when do I get to meet to your parents?" "Hahaha… never!" Husk blurted, making Angel jump a little. "Okay? You wanna tell me why?" Husk got really quiet, starting out the window on his side of the cab as he let out a heavy sigh.
"Well… why haven't you ever offered to take me to meet your folks?" Husk asked. Angel scoffed, laughed and said, "Well… my mom and sister's up in Heaven. As for my dad, brother and damn-near everyone else… they hate me and wish me death. And it's very likely they'd feel pretty much the same for any guy I ever brought around to see 'em." Husk turned back and looked at Angel with a very telling expression; Angel's eyes widened in realization and all he could think to say was, "Ooh… I think I get it now."
Husk sighed, leaning over and resting his head on Angel's side before snuggling up and letting his eyes close. Angel smiled, giving Husk a loose side-hug before gently pushing him off. "We're almost there," Angel said, "We can snuggle all you want when we get home." Husk nodded and pulled out his debit card, paying the cab driver as they pulled up to the restaurant and waving goodbye as he drove off. "So… uh," Husk rubbed the back of his neck and said, "You… ready to meet the kids?" Angel smiled and offered Husk his second right hand; the old cat happily took it and wrapped it around his shoulders before wrapping his arm around Angel's waist, giving a playful wink as he squeezed Angel's side.
"Hey! Hey, over here!" a voice called. The guys turned and saw a Lust Ring imp scuttling over. She was wearing a lovely black gown, white sweater, and black dress shoes; her hair was put up in a shoulder-length ponytail aside from a few long bangs that hung on the side of her face. "Hazel!" Husk pulled out of Angel's grasp and ran up to the imp, wrapping his arms around her in a loving embrace. "It's been too long, Lil' Lop."
"No shit," Hazel laughed, giving Husk a soft kiss on the cheek, "It's… just so good to see you again." Husk smiled, gently touching his cheek as Angel walked up and cleared his throat. "Oh, is this the new beau?" Hazel asked. "Huh? Oh, yeah," Husk chuckled, "Hazel, this is Angel Dust. Angel, this is Hazel, and… where's Bucky?" "Over here, Mr. H." a voice drawled. The group looked over as a skinny Wrath Ring imp in a tux ran over to where they were standing. "The dern parking lot is crazy packed. Took me a while to find an open space. Err… who's the tall feller?"
"Bucky, this is Angel Dust," Hazel giggled, "You know, the very good friend dad told us about." Bucky got up on his toes and eyed Angel carefully. "Oh yeah… I remember you now," Bucky chortled, "He was in that there skinny movie you like, wasn't he, Mr. H? The one with the leather and the fancy narrator?"
"Wait… you talking about Secrets of the Whip?" Angel asked, "That wasn't a porno, Bucky. That was a documentary. I… wait a second," Angel smiled as he turned to see Husk looking off to the side; his face burning a bright red, "You saw that program, Husk?" "Oh, hey, look at the time! If we don't hurry up now, we might miss our reservation." Husk grabbed Angel's hand and said in a hushed voice, "We'll discuss it later. Come on, folks, let's go." Hazel chuckled, grabbing Bucky's hand and ran after Husk and Angel, hooking her one arm under Husk's and the other under Bucky's as they caught up and made their way to the front door.
