A Little Hazbin 3: Rise of the Nephilim Ch. 06
"Ow!" Celest lets out as she hits her head on her way out of her room. The Not-so-Little Hazbin is wearing similar clothes as the day before. Only with the added sunglasses to protect herself from the light and a top underwear that fits better than what her Mama's did.
"Oh, Sweetie!" Charlie reaches up to check her head. "Are you alright?"
"I'm fine, Mom. It just hurts a lot more than usual."
Vaggie watches this and says, "I wasn't to hard on you earlier, was I?"
"Not going to lie, Mama. It was really painful. But I was the one who chose to drink. Ugh," she nurses her head. "Remind me too never to that again."
"I know the feeling," comes Emily's voice. The wingless seraphim walk up to them, carrying a tall glass of dark green liquid. "Hangovers are the worst. I remember my first drink. Well…" she looks up. "Actually, I don't remember it at all but the next morning was still rough," the Assistant Manager then passes the glass up to the Not-so-Little Hazbin. "I brought you this."
"Uh, thanks?" Celest accepts it takes a sniff and nearly gags. "What is it?"
"After my first time I decided to and develop a hangover cure," Emily looks away. "I know that it doesn't smell very well, nor does it taste good. I know. I tried it myself. But it really works and also has a near hundred percent success rate in getting alcoholics to quit drinking altogether."
Celest smiles at her and goes to drink but stops at the Angel's voice.
"Fair warning. In order for it to actually work you'll have to drink all of it in one go. You cannot stop until it's all gone"
"Okay, Ms. Emily," with that, the grown child lifts the glass up to her lips and at the first taste, she wanted to spit it out but kept going remembering what Emily told her. As soon as the glass was empty, Celest drops the cup and starts coughing. "That was horrible!" her moms help keep her steady as the woman appeared like she was about to fall. "If I have to take that stuff every time I drink I'll never touch anything with alcohol again!"
The Assistant Manager shrugs. "And that's where the success rate comes in. So…" she looks at the tall woman. "How do you feel?"
Celest stood up and held her head. "The headache's gone," then removes the sunglasses. "And the light no longer hurts," suddenly, she lifts the smaller woman up into a hug. "Thanks, Ms. Emily!"
"D-don't mention it," Emily can feel herself blushing. "And, and you can just call me Emily."
Celest looks down and suddenly felt awkward about the situation for some reason as her face starts feeling warm just like the other day, and suddenly sets the angel down. "Sure thing, Emily!" her heart started racing and all she could do was stand there and wait for it to slow down.
Charlie then calls out to her friend and Assistant Manager. "Are you sure you can handle the Hotel for the day, Emmy?"
"It'll be fine, Charlie. I've been preparing for this," she then looks down. "I was hoping to step away for an hour to meet with Sera. But I'm sure she'll understand if I were to reschedule."
"No, don't do that," the Acting Queen insists. "You guys are finally talking and I'm happy for you. Just leave Cherri Bomb and Sir Pentious in Charge. I'm sure they won't cause the building to collapse because they were left unsupervised for that long… Probably."
"Thank you, Charlie."
.oOo.
After getting in the limo, Vaggie notices her daughter placing her hands over her chest and the woman can't believe she's so envious of her own daughter. "Celest. Are weighing yourself again?"
"Huh?" the Not-so-Little Hazbin looks over to her and blinks and then glances down at her chest and the placement of her hands. "No! No, no!" and quickly removes them. "It's just that…" she glances away. "Hey, Moms. Why does Emily make my heart jump."
The mothers straightened up and glanced at one another before Charlie asks. "What do you mean, Sweetie?"
"I don't know really," Celest leans back. "It's just the closest thing I could describe it to. Ever since I saw Emily yesterday, I get this weird feeling in my chest, and I'm suddenly scared and happy, worried and excited. Am I sick?" she looks back at her mothers.
Vaggie and Charlie look back at one another as if having a silent conversation.
"Vaggie," Charlie smiles at her wife. "It's another first."
The Former Exorcist returns the smile. "That it is."
The now grown woman looks between them before going. "First what?"
"Celest, Honey," Vaggie takes her daughter's hand. "It sounds like you have your first crush."
Charlie then takes her daughter's other hand. "You see, Sweetie. People will often feel this attraction to others."
"Like math?" Celest tilts her head. "It was never my best subject."
The Fallen Angel shakes her head at her daughter's innocence. "It does take two but it's not that kind of attraction."
The Acting Queen adds. "What your Mama and I mean is that you seem to like Emily."
"Of course I do. I've always liked Emily."
"No. We mean that you like-like her."
The mothers could see their daughter's brain trying to solve the problem. "Oh!?" she seemed to finally get it. "You mean like how you two like-like each other? Or how Mr. Angel Dust and Mr. Husk like one another even though they act like they don't, but everyone knows they do?"
"That's right, Sweetie."
"I like-like, Emily? Like that?" the Not-so-Little Hazbin feels her face warming up. "W-what, what do I do about it? Do I say something to her? Or do I just wait for her to say something to me? Or—" her face is then grabbed by Vaggie.
"Celest, Honey. Calm down. We'll help you figure this out later. But right now the last thing we need is you freaking out."
"Why can't I freak out?"
"Celest. Not only is your Nephilim form showing, your tail is currently suffocating your mother."
The Not-so-Little Hazbin had indeed changed unknowingly, revealing her horns, halo with the ball of light, and feathered wings, Turning around, the daughter finds that her tail is indeed strangling her mom. "Oh, my gosh! Mom!" her tail lets go and Charlie starts gasping for air. "I am so, so sorry! I-I don't know what happened."
"It's," Charlie gasps out. "It's alright. Sometimes, it's like it has a mind of its own. I should know. I nearly strangled my first boyfriend." Her wife and daughter stared at her. "It was a long time ago. How about we focus on something else other than Emily? Like where we're going."
"Where are we going?"
Vaggie lets out a sigh. "Your Mom still hasn't been able to get ahold of your Grandfather. We thought maybe getting someone to better look at you to find out exactly what happened."
"Oh! So, we're going to the hospital?"
"No. The hospital is not good enough. We're taking you to the one place that has the best research and development in many fields. Including medical technology."
Charlie then comments. "They've surely come far in less than a year given that all they used to do was make weapons."
