Deception
Chapter Four
Dana Scully had been restless during the past few days while trying to find answers to the UFO that was supposed to be arriving. Even the townsfolks had been worried about what would happen to them once the reporters got a hold of the story and changed the town forever.
She was sitting in one of two local diners five minutes away from her motel. She will sit down at the counter having to be busy for breakfast. She will ask the young waitress in her early twenties on what she planned on having for breakfast. She was starved after talking with A.D. Skinner before leaving the motel. She will need to call her husband Fox Mulder to give him her report, which currently amounts to nothing.
The young waitress named Judith will place the coffee in front of Scully before deciding to order. There was a local newspaper that one of the residents had left on the counter. She decided to take a look at what was written about the sighting of the UFO that had shown up a week ago.
Scully had to chuckle slightly at what was written as to how everyone is scared as hell with this sighting. Since they have no idea what is going to happen to them. Mumbling under her breath with no one around at the moment. "Really!" she said with taking a sip of her very hot coffee to have her mouth sting a little.
"Are you interested in UFOS?" The server Judith will asked with her writing pad in hand to take her order.
Scully looks up from the newspaper to tell Judith the following. "I am very much so since I work for the F.B.I.," she tells the young woman anxious to have her order.
"Really! My father Jonah working in California has worked as a part-time agent for the past eight years. He's going to retire next year before taking the time to head to Italy to live as his dream location." she said calmly. "By the way what did you think of the front page story regarding the UFO?"
Scully had to chuckle slightly when it came to the question. "I found it quite strange to have this type of story on the front page. Usually, it's buried inside the newspaper for those to search," she mentions with her experience working for the X Files department.
Judith came in closer to Scully to say. "I heard that the authorities are very worried that this story is true along with a real UFO to be coming to their town to scare everyone."
"i would be scared as well if I found a UFO in my backyard." Scully motions that she is ready to give her food order.
"Okay, I am ready to take your order. What is it?" she asked calmly with other residents moving out of the diner.
Scully quickly gave her the order. After she is done. She will be heading to the local sheriff's office to ask them a few questions as with the local newspaper editor on the story about the UFO.
