Virtue and Venom: Chapter 41

With Naruto, Mamushi and Sasuke

Naruto gripping his trench knives decapitated another one of Orochimaru's test subjects; Naruto turned around only to see another on right in his face. The once human looking test subject cocked back his fist and sent a punch towards Naruto who put up his hands to block; Naruto was knocked back several feet before stopping and making a hand sign.

"Multi Shadow clone jutsu" Naruto shouted as he created 50 clones and they all ran off in different directions; Naruto looked around and mentally cursed 'damn there is no end to these guys'.

Mamushi bisected another test subject before twirling around and swinging her scythe and hitting another enemy in the chest piercing his heart. Mamushi pulled out her scythe and jumped back landing in a crouch.

"Hurry up you bastards" Mamushi shouted as she got back into her stance "I have a parent to kill and you are getting in my way". Mamushi began to go through hand signs 'Fire Style: Fireball jutsu' Mamushi fired a massive fireball towards a group of test subjects; Mamushi once more grabbed her scythe and charged forward with a roar.

Sasuke using his sword slashed a enemy across his throat severing his arteries; Sasuke was about to move on but was surrounded by enemies. Sasuke focused his chakra and waited for the group of enemies to get closer until they were writhing 6 feet.

'Chidori Stream' Sasuke unleashed a stream of lighting from all his chakra points hitting all near enemies and stunning them; Sasuke quickly using his sword began to slash and stab the stunned enemies.

'This is getting annoying' Sasuke thought as he jumped away landing before more enemies charged towards him 'Jiraya and Anko better not be screwing around'.

With Anko and Jiraya

Anko and Jiraya were looking for an alternate entrance to enter Orochimaru's hide out; Anko and Jiraya were both running through the forest as the sounds of battle raged behind them.

"Man they're tearing it up over there" Anko said as she ran along side Jiraya "hopefully they are done by the time we find Orochimaru; Mamushi wants to kill him herself".

"Frankly if there were two people who deserve to kill him its you and Mamushi" Jiraya said "but for now lets just find old snake face".

"You won't have to look far" came a voice as a giant snake popped out of some bushes and lunged towards Anko and Jiraya; Anko and Jiraya both jumped out of the way as the snake landed in between them.

'Shit' Jiraya cursed as he held out his hand and formed a rasengan; Jiraya rushed towards the snake and plunged the jutsu into the snake creating a large and gaping wound killing the snake.

"Oh that's a shame; i was getting to like that snake" Orochimaru said as he came out of the darkness with two test subjects beside him "Oh well". "Hello Jiraya, Anko; it's been a while" Orochimaru said and Anko scowled.

"Yes it has" Anko said as she took out a kunai "I've been waiting a long time for this". However Orochimaru merely chuckled as he looked on at in amusement "what's so funny" Anko said.

"The fact that you think them I'm going to fight you alone" Orochimaru said as he began to go through hand signs that Jiraya recognized.

"Orochimaru no" Jiraya shouted but Orochimaru ignored him.

"Edo Tensei" Orochimaru shouted as both of the test subjects and dust began to cover them; Jiraya looked on in horror as the two test subjects formed into their reincarnated subjects.

One was the tall and imposing figure of Asuma Sarutobi who blinked as he looked around "huh… what the hell happened" Asuma said confused. Anko was enraged as her fallen comrade Asuma was brought back and Asuma saw her "Anko, what are you doing in Wave" he asked.

"Asuma, your not in the land of Waves; you died three years ago" Anko said shocking him as she looked over to Jiraya "Jiraya we have to- what's wrong".

Jiraya was petrified as he looked at the reincarnated form of a woman; she wore a jonin outfit and had long black hair. "Huh… where am I" she said before she found Jiraya "hey… you're Minato's perverted sensei; the one who tried to peek on me and Kushina".

"Oh shit" Jiraya said and Anko looked at him.

"What is it; who is she" Anko asked and Jiraya swallowed.

"She's Mikoto Uchiha; mother of Sasuke and one of the best Kenjutsu users that the village ever had" Jiraya said making Anko go wide eyed "she's nothing to joke about; other than Sakumo Hatake and Kushina she's one of the best sword wielders I've ever known".

"Now then since we had this little introduction I think it's best for us to get started" Orochimaru said as he pulled out a scroll and opened it revealing a sword "Mikoto, be a dear and take on Anko".

Mikoto scoffed as she grabbed the sword and looked at Anko "I'm sorry about this" Mikoto said and Anko nodded.

"It's fine" Anko said "I didn't expect this day to end easily anyways".

"Asuma; go and help Kabuto and Karin" Orochimaru said and Asuma glared at him.

"If i had it my way I'd kill you" Asuma said as he ran off towards where Naruto and the others were.

"Damn it Orochimaru; have you no respect for the dead" Jiraya said and Orochimaru merely shrugged.

"I've done it once before; remember the invasion" Orochimaru said "now then Jiraya; shall we begin". Orochimaru proceeded to pull his sword out of his mouth and look at Jiraya eagerly.

"You want a fight; I'll give you a fight" Jiraya said as he got into his stance.

With Naruto

Naruto sliced off the head of another test subject and got back into his stance looking around in order to see if anymore were coming to him; as he looked around he saw that their numbers have thinned out and now there were only about 10 or so left.

They were fighting against Mamushi and Sasuke with them making quick work of the others as they were quickly falling like flies. 'Ok they're nearly done' Naruto thought 'after they are done we should go-'; Naruto began but was interrupted when he heard the sound of feet running up behind him.

Naruto quickly turned around only to duck and dodge a kunai strike aimed at his throat; Naruto retaliated against his attacker by kicking him away. Naruto stood up and got into his stance but froze when he saw who he just kicked.

"Naruto" Asuma said surprised "well I'll be, look at you; you gotten taller". Asuma then looked at Naruto's hands and saw both of his trench knives "and i see you're still using my knives" he said.

"Asuma sensei" Naruto said both confused and horrified "you're dead; I was there when you died"; Asuma nodded at this and spoke.

"I am dead" Asuma said "I've been brought back by Orochimaru to fight against you and the others; you have to stop me".

Naruto grit his teeth as anger and regret flooded his mind "I'm sorry Asuma sensei" Naruto said as he gripped his trench knives "I'll put you back to rest".

Asuma smiled as he took out another kunai so now he was holding 2 "thanks kid" he said before charging at Naruto.

With Mamushi and Sasuke

Mamushi and Sasuke both finished the last of their opponents and were both looking around to see if there were anyone left; as they did Sasuke and Mamushi was Naruto fighting against someone.

"Hey who is that guy" Mamushi said looking at the person Naruto was fighting "isn't he wearing a Konoha uniform; is he back up or something" he asked confused. "Sasuke" Mamushi said as she looked over to him only to see his eyes wide in disbelief.

'No way, Asuma' Sasuke thought 'Is-is he alive; how, why, is this a-'; Sasuke began but both he and Mamushi were pulled out of his thoughts when he heard a sound behind him. Sasuke and Mamushi turned around and saw a pair of chains coming towards them.

Sasuke and Mamushi both used their weapons to block the chains knocking them off course as they focused on the source of the chains; the chains returned to the owner which was a red haired girl with glasses.

"Who the hell are you" Mamushi shouted as she pointed her scythe towards the girl.

"I'm Karin" Karin said as she adjusted her glasses; Sasuke got on guard as he brought up his sword.

'What the hell are those chains' Sasuke thought 'me and Mamushi better stay on our toes; who knows what she has up her sleeve'. Sasuke was about to speak again but he say another person come and stand next to the Karin girl.

"Hello Sasuke, Mamushi" Kabuto said with a friendly smile "it's been a long time".

"Glasses guy" Mamushi said looking at Kabuto "you may not be Orochimaru but you're still on the list of people to kill; right under Orochimaru". "Sasuke" Mamushi said gaining his attention "you take on four eyes over there; the red head is mine".

"Ok, just be careful" Sasuke said and Mamushi nodded; Mamushi and Sasuke both walked in front of their opponents and got ready for battle.

"Karin" Kabuto said looking at the red head "make sure you capture Mamushi alive; Lord Orochimaru will want her for later".

"Very well" Karin said as she looked at Mamushi 'from what i know she has increased speed and strength; keeping her at a distance is probably my best bet' Karin thought as she analyzed Mamushi. 'I best not hold back' Karin thought as she produced 2 more chains so she had 4 total.

"Lord Orochimaru is very adamant about using you for a vessel" Kabuto said as he looked at Sasuke "lets see how long you can last against me". Sasuke scoffed as he looked at Kabuto.

"I'm not the same person you knew back then" Sasuke said gripping his sword "I will eliminate you and I'll do it with a smile on my face"; Kabuto chuckled at this.

"The famous Uchiha arrogance shows it's head" Kabuto said as he created chakra scalpels on his hands "lets begin shall we".

With Jiraya

Jiraya ducked under the Kusanagi and threw a punch towards Orochimaru's face; Orochimaru blocked Jiraya's fist and retaliated with a kick sending him stumbling back into a tree. Jiraya recovered as saw Orochimaru coming towards him with his sword raised; Jiraya dove out of the way as Orochimaru sliced the tree.

Jiraya looked towards Orochimaru and saw the damage the sword did to the tree; Orochimaru's sword created a deep gash in the tree and the tree slowly began to rot due to the poison on the Kusanagi.

Jiraya began to go through hand signs before slamming his hands onto the ground "Earth Style: Earth dome" a dome formed surrounding both Jiraya and Orochimaru and Orochimaru pondered what Jiraya was planning; although he didn't have to wait long as Jiraya went through another set of hand signs.

"Secret Art: Toad mouth trap" Jiraya slammed his hands once more as the walls became covered in flesh and surrounded both him and Orochimaru in a confined space. Jiraya sunk into the ground as Orochimaru was left alone as flamed sparked in the middle of the room.

On the outside of the dome Jiraya looked on as a pillar of flames shot out into the air from the middle of the dome 'did I get him' Jiraya thought; the dome shattered open as a giant snake appeared.

The snake opened it's mouth and revealed Orochimaru unscathed 'of course I'm not that lucky' Jiraya thought.

"Nice attempt Jiraya" Orochimaru said smirking "but not good enough".

Jiraya growled as he began to go through hand signs "Summoning Jutsu" Jiraya slammed his hand onto the ground and summoned out Gamaken with both his shield and his Sasumata ready for battle "this isn't over Orochimaru; our battle has only just begun".

With Anko

Anko dodged a slash from Mikoto's sword and countered with a stab to the reincarnated woman's chest; Mikoto grabbed her hand and used the handle of her katana to hit Anko in the wrist.

Anko yelped in pain as she dropped the kunai before she saw Mikoto take another slash at her; Anko in desperate move bent backwards as the sword cut her across her abdomen making only a small flesh wound.

Anko brought up her leg and kicked Mikoto on the side of the head sending her to the ground; Anko picked her kunai with her other hand and jumped away.

"You nearly broke my wrist" Anko said rolling her injured hand "I guess I'm lucky I'm ambidextrous". Mikoto smiled at this and spoke.

"I'm glad you are holding your own; I'd rather not kill you" Mikoto said honestly "but may I ask… do you know where my son Sasuke is".

"He's nearby; fighting against Orochimaru's goons" Anko said and Mikoto looked surprised.

"Miss… Anko is it; if possible, could you capture me without destroying me" Mikoto asked pleadingly "I wish to see my baby boy one more time and tell him the truth".

'The truth… what truth' Anko thought "sure thing" Anko said and Mikoto smiled.

"Thank you" Mikoto said as she began to go through hand signs 'Fire Style: Phoenix Flower Jutsu'; Mikoto fired a volley of 10 small fire balls towards Anko who began to run and dodge as the fire balls hit the foliage behind her.

The trees behind Anko caught on fire and Anko began her counter attack; Anko charged towards Mikoto launching snakes out of her sleeves to bite and hold her. The snakes neared Mikoto and she swung her sword decapitating the snakes but was left open to an attack by Anko.

Anko slashed at Mikoto hitting her arm and making her drop her sword; Anko followed up by kicking her in the chest knocking her back. Anko picked up the sword and threw it into the raging fire behind her.

"No more sword play for you" Anko said with a smile; Mikoto made a hand sign and a different sword popped back into her hands. Anko then realized that she was holding the sword Sasuke always had on his back.

"My friend Kushina put a small seal on my original sword in case it gets knocked away from me" Mikoto said.

"Crap on a cracker" Anko said in annoyance.

"But I must say I'm surprised it actually worked; Sasuke must be really close" Mikoto said.

Sasuke (15 seconds earlier)

Sasuke dodged Kabuto's chakra scalpel attack aimed at his chest before jumping up and doing a front flip over Kabuto. Sasuke landed and took the opportunity to attack Kabuto.

Sasuke spun around aiming a slash Kabuto and was about to cut his head off; Kabuto was wide eyed as the sword neared his neck and Sasuke smirked.

"You're done" Sasuke said; the next second Sasuke's sword 'poof'd' out of existence and he stood still like he did a full slash. Kabuto reached up and touched his neck and looked at his hand and saw there was no blood.

'W-where the hell is his sword' Kabuto asked Sasuke looked at him wide eyed.

'Where the fuck is my sword' Sasuke shouted in his mind 'it was in my goddamn hands'.

Kabuto then realized something, Sasuke was now defenseless; Kabuto slashed at Sasuke with his chakra scalpel and Sasuke attempted to jump away. Sasuke was cut across his left shoulder as he landed a few feet away.

"I don't know what just happened" Kabuto said with a smile "but I'll take it".

Sasuke growled as he reached to his side and pulled out his fathers tanto "I swear to Kami when I find out who took my mothers sword; I will put them in the fucking ground".

With Mamushi

Mamushi put her scythe in front of her in order to block the oncoming chain Karin sent towards her; when the chain made contact it bent around Mamushi's weapon and cut Mamushi on her left ribs.

"Yowwww" Mamushi shouted in pain as the chain wrapped around her waist and Karin pulled her towards her.

"Get over here" Karin shouted as she retracted her chain pulling Mamushi towards her at full speed; Karin delivered a powerful kick to Mamushi's stomach making her cough out her breath before being sent back skidding across the ground.

Mamushi shot back up huffing in anger as she looked at the red haired girl who just kicked her "that's it" Mamushi said "no more Mr. Nice Mamushi".

"You mean Ms.; since you're a girl" Karin said and Mamushi stomped her foot and shouted.

"I know what I said; shut up" Mamushi shouted as she began to go through hand signs 'Fire Style: Fire Ball Jutsu'; Mamushi inhaled and held in the fire ball in her body charging it up.

"What the hell is she-" Karin said until Mamushi opened her mouth and unleashed a overpowered and unstable fireball "oh shit" Karin shouted. Karin began to run away from the fire ball that was quickly approaching her; Karin took cover behind a boulder just as the fireball closed in.

The fire ball hit the boulder unleashing a hell storm of fire around the sides as Karin held her breath so she doesn't suffocate; Karin felt her skin begin to burn and as the heat became unbearable.

The fire died down after a few seconds and Karin let out her breath breathing in the air which was filled with smoke and the smell of burning limestone. Karin let out a sigh of relief until she head a noise above her.

"Found you" Mamushi said from the top of the boulder; Karin looked up and saw Mamushi jumping down with her scythe above her head. Karin jumped out of the way as Mamushi brought down her scythe and stuck it into the ground; Mamushi ditched her weapon as she turned towards Karin and punched her in the face full force knocking her glasses off.

Mamushi threw another punch nailing Karin in the ribs; before Mamushi could throw another punch Karin went in and grabbed Mamushi pinning both of her arms to her side.

"What now freak" Karin said; Mamushi without hesitation bit down on Karin's collar sinking her teeth into Karin flesh. Karin screamed in pain and began to feel her chakra begin to leave her body "you bitch" Karin shouted as she head butted Mamushi before letting her go "did you fucking bite me".

"Ow my head" Mamushi whined she held her head; Mamushi stood up straight and flexed her muscles and looked at her ribs 'huh… I'm healed; my healing isn't that fast'. 'No time for that now' Mamushi thought as she reached down and grabbed her scythe "alright then; it's time for round goddamn two".

"Bring it" Karin said before pausing; for a slight instance she felt a shift in Mamushi's chakra but shook her head as she focused on Mamushi who began to run towards her.

With Naruto

Naruto and Asuma were clashing blades as sparks began to fly around and the ringing of steel filled the air; Naruto using his trench knives slashed at Asuma who ducked back avoiding the blade.

Naruto followed up with a overhead downward stab aimed towards Asuma's head; Asuma brought up his arm and blocked Naruto's strike. Asuma proceeded to kick Naruto in the chest sending him rolling back a few feet before Asuma rushed towards him.

Naruto put up his guard as Asuma began to go through hand signs 'Fire Style: Burning ash' Asuma blew out a large cloud of ash from his mouth towards Naruto and Naruto realized what was going on.

"Shit" Naruto shouted as he jumped away; Asuma clicked his teeth creating a spark and igniting the ash cloud creating a massive fire ball. Naruto emerged largely unscathed other than a minor burn on his left shoulder.

Naruto then began to go through hand signs himself 'Wind Style: Great Breakthrough' Naruto fired a powerful gust of wind towards Asuma and but Asuma jumped away avoiding the jutsu.

'His wind jutsu has improved a lot' Asuma thought with pride "good job Naruto; but you'll need more than that to beat me.

Naruto smirked as he looked at Asuma "I'm not the same kid from back in wave Asuma" he said as he made a hand sign and created 8 shadow clones "I came a long way". Naruto and his clones all charged towards Asuma who got into a defensive stance.

Naruto's first clone reached Asuma and slashed at him; Asuma jumped over the clone and while in mid air stabbed the clone through the crown of the skull dispelling it. Asuma landed and 2 more clones appeared in front of him.

Asuma spun around going low and began to rise up at a fast pace; Asuma spun around 3 times hitting both clones first on the legs then the abdomen and then the necks dispelling them.

4 more clones closed the distance and Asuma threw both of his kunai at 2 clones destroying them before allowing the others to reach him. Asuma sent a powerful punch to one of the clones hitting it in the face before grabbing it by the collar.

The other clone slashed at Asuma but Asuma used the other clone as a shield protecting himself from harm and destroying the other clone. Asuma grabbed the clone that just attacked him and proceeded to knee it in the gut before putting it in a headlock before pulling up and breaking it's neck.

As the clone dispelled Naruto and his last clone both ran towards Asuma with a rasengan in his hand; Asuma looked on wide eyed in surprise.

'The rasengan; Naruto… you learned it' Asuma thought in astonishment as Naruto closed the distance.

"Take this" Naruto said as he thrusted the jutsu into Asuma's stomach "rasengan"; the rasengan sent Asuma flying across the clearing and into a boulder with his gut ripped open. But just as soon as he stopped the wound began to close as dust and debris floated towards him and reformed Asuma.

"Naruto… you learned the rasengan" Asuma said looking at Naruto with a smile "I had a feeling you'd be a great shinobi"; Naruto smiled at this.

"Thanks Asuma" Naruto said "I'll make this quick; so you can rest"; Asuma smiled at this and got back into his stance. 'Fox; can I get a little help' Naruto thought and the fox chuckled.

"Very well brat" The Kyuubi said as it gave Naruto a little chakra "use it wisely"; The Kyuubi cut off contact and Naruto nodded.

Naruto's eyes turned red and slitted while trench knives began to glow red with the Kyuubi's chakra; Naruto took in a deep breath before getting back into his stance 'lets do this' he thought.
