June 8: The earth has music for those who listen."
-William Shakespeare
Sorry this was late...I had no motivation to post this yesterday day, although I did write it yesterday...It is extremely short as well. I want to thank my readers, followers, ect. It is encouraging to me to know that people like my work.
Also special thanks to AmberRising who is very encouraging, and who supports me with my stories and ideas.
Jewel sat on the lush grass by the stream as she watched Jo and Kiah sleep. It had been a busy week for the two bucks, and she was glad that they had the opportunity to relax. She smiled softly as Jo's soft snores reached her ears as he twitched in his sleep. Kiah lay still and silent, his face the most open and relaxed she had ever seen. Feeling a dull ache in her arm, she rubbed at the scar, wincing as the pressure she put on it caused the pain to grow momentarily. As the sun made its way across the sky, her eyes grew heavy.
Leaning back, she listened to the soft sound of water lapping against the rocks in the stream and of birds singing their joy. As she closed her eyes, she breathed in the fresh air and let the sun warm her face. She drifted off to sleep with a smile on her face, letting the soft noises blend together into music.
