A couple of years ago, shortly after Naruko ate her Devil Fruit, she was practicing with her newfound powers. It didn't take her long to learn how to change her appearance to a slightly older look, giving herself a more intimidating presence. Today, she was aboard a Marine vessel, using her control over the ocean water to gently rock the ship in place near a small, lush island.
Naruko stood at the bow, her eyes closed as she focused on the waves beneath her. She willed the water to hold the ship steady, feeling the currents and tides respond to her commands. The rhythmic motion of the ship calmed her, each gentle sway a testament to her growing mastery over her powers.
After a while, she stopped rocking the ship and walked over to the edge, a curious look on her face. She leaned over the railing, watching the waves lap against the hull. With a thoughtful expression, she brought her hand to her chin. "It's confusing," she muttered to herself. "Devil Fruit users aren't supposed to be able to swim, yet I am made out of water, how does that work?"
An idea sparked in her mind. She decided to test the limits of her ability. Taking a deep breath, Naruko turned her body into water and let herself drop over the side of the ship into the ocean below. For a brief moment, she felt a strange sense of liberation as her water form mingled with the sea. But almost immediately, it became a mistake. The second all the water from her body fully mixed into the ocean, she was forced to violently transform back into her true form. The ocean's grip tightened around her, and she began to sink rapidly.
Panic set in as she struggled against the water's embrace. Her limbs felt heavy, and her vision started to dim. Desperately, she tried to call upon her powers, but the water seemed to pull her deeper, sapping her strength. Just as darkness threatened to claim her, she saw a blurred form dive into the water above her.
When Naruko woke up, she was lying on the deck of the Marine ship, coughing up seawater. A weird-looking guy with silver hair stood over her, soaked to the bone. She quickly realized that her true form was exposed, and without thinking, she reformed herself into her child form. The transformation was rapid, her body flickering with water before settling into the smaller, more innocent appearance.
Kakashi, still dripping wet, lazily raised his hand in a wave. "Hey there. I'm Sergeant Kakashi Hatake," he said, his tone casual despite the urgency of the situation. "You've got an interesting power," he added as he helped her to her feet, not mentioning her missing eye from her true form.
Naruko blinked up at him, still disoriented. "What… what happened?" she asked, her voice weak.
Kakashi knelt beside her, his expression one of mild amusement. "You decided to take a swim, which, as you might have realized, isn't the best idea for a Devil Fruit user," he explained. "You started sinking like a rock, so I had to jump in and fish you out."
Naruko groaned, sitting up slowly. Her body felt heavy, and she shivered from the cold. "That was stupid," she muttered, more to herself than to Kakashi.
Kakashi shrugged, offering her a reassuring smile. "We all make mistakes. The important thing is that you're okay.
Naruko nodded, absorbing his words. "Thanks for saving me, Sergeant Hatake. I won't forget this."
Kakashi waved off her gratitude with a dismissive hand. "Call me Kakashi. And don't worry about it. We're all here to look out for each other." He stood up, offering her a hand to help her to her feet.
Naruko took his hand and stood, feeling a new sense of respect for the laid-back Marine. "Alright, Kakashi. I'll be more careful next time."
As she regained her composure, Naruko's thoughts turned to her Devil Fruit powers. The experience had taught her a valuable lesson about the limitations and dangers of her abilities. She knew she had much to learn, but with Kakashi and the rest of her crew by her side, she felt confident she could master the challenges ahead.
Kakashi, noticing her introspective look, patted her on the shoulder. "Come on, let's get you dried off. And maybe avoid any more spontaneous experiments with the ocean for a while."
Naruko chuckled, the sound light and genuine. "Yeah, I think that's a good idea."
Present-Time--
In the midst of the tumultuous Grand Line, two unique ships were locked in a fierce battle. The first ship, a sleek and menacing vessel adorned with dark, jagged sails and a figurehead shaped like a snarling wolf, bore the insignia of the Blood Fang Pirates. Its deck was bristling with cannons and armed pirates, each one fiercely loyal to their captain.
The second ship, a massive galleon with three towering masts and crimson sails, belonged to the Crimson Tide. Its hull was reinforced with iron plating, giving it an imposing and indestructible appearance. The figurehead was a fearsome dragon, its maw open in a silent roar. The crew of the Crimson Tide was equally fierce, with Devil Fruit users among their ranks adding an unpredictable element to the battle.
Cannon fire thundered between the ships, the air filled with the deafening sound of explosions and the acrid smell of gunpowder. Pirates on both sides shouted commands and curses, their voices barely audible over the din. Musket fire crackled sporadically, bullets whizzing through the air as the two ships exchanged deadly volleys.
As the battle grew more intense, both ships bore the scars of combat. The Blood Fang's hull was riddled with cannonball holes, and the Crimson Tide's once-proud sails were tattered and torn. The ships drew closer, still far enough apart to continue their bombardment but near enough that boarding parties began to prepare for hand-to-hand combat.
The chaos of battle was suddenly interrupted as lightning began to pour down from the darkening clouds above, signaling the arrival of a storm. The air grew thick with an eerie red fog, permeating the battlefield with an otherworldly glow. Without warning, giant tentacles of blood-red water erupted from the sea, smashing through the Blood Fang ship with terrifying ease. The wooden hull splintered and groaned under the assault, and within moments, the ship began to sink rapidly.
The remaining pirates on the Crimson Tide stared in horror as the fog thickened. Out of the mist, Naruko's terrifying ship emerged, its blood-red sails and dark hull cutting through the gloom like a specter.
Pirates on the Crimson Tide could barely believe their eyes as they made out Naruko's adult form standing on the front cannon, her long hair flowing around her head like snakes, her overcoat flapping in the wind behind her. Her eyes, seemingly glowing red with power, locked onto the remaining ship with a predatory intensity. Giant tentacles of red water formed and wrapped around the Crimson Tide, crushing the massive galleon as if it were made of paper. As Naruko's ship reached it, the Crimson Tide was torn apart, its crew screaming in terror as they were dragged into the depths.
Naruko stood upon the front cannon of her ship, her gaze fixed on the destruction below. The ship plowed through the remains of both broken vessels, not even pausing at the sound of the pirates' screams. The water churned with debris and bodies, some pirates crushed beneath the relentless advance of Naruko's ship, others left to flounder and drown.
Naruko lifted her face slightly, closing her eyes as she took in the cacophony of suffering. Behind her, Shiryu stood on the deck, a few feet to her right, a wicked smile on his face as he savored the pirates' screams. He took a long drag from his cigar, blowing the smoke out leisurely.
Kakashi stood a few feet behind Naruko on her left, wearing his lieutenant's uniform. His mask covered his mouth and one of his eyes, but his lone visible eye held a look of concern as he watched Naruko revel in the suffering below.
Iruka emerged from below deck, his expression serious as he approached Naruko. "Captain," he said, his voice carrying over the dying cries of the pirates, "Akainu has sent a message. He wants you to contact him as soon as possible."
Naruko opened her eyes, a small pout forming on her lips. She looked out to the ocean for another minute, savoring the scene of devastation. Finally, she turned her head slightly towards Iruka. "Get everything set up in my office. I'll be there soon," she ordered, her voice calm yet commanding.
Iruka nodded and retreated to prepare the communications setup, while Naruko continued to watch the carnage for a few more moments. The ship pressed on through the wreckage, a testament to her overwhelming power and ruthless determination. As the Red Death sailed on, leaving the remnants of the pirate battle behind, Naruko knew that this was just another step in her relentless pursuit of justice and vengeance on the high seas.
--
Naruko's ship sailed through the Grand Line, the water and sky belying the chaos that had recently unfolded. The ship moved steadily, the crew busy with their tasks while the sea provided a deceptive sense of peace.
Inside her office, Naruko was seated at a large, sturdy table, eating in a frenzied manner. Plates of food surrounded her, remnants of previous meals scattered across the table. Her snail phone sat in the center, Akainu's face etched into its surface. The mic lay nearby, unused, as Naruko focused on shoveling food into her mouth.
Akainu's voice roared through the snail, "HOW DID BLACKBEARD GET AWAY!? IT WAS A SIMPLE MISSION!!! HOW DID YOU SCREW IT UP!!!?"
Naruko stayed silent, continuing to scarf down her meal, her eyes narrowed in frustration. The sound of her chewing was the only response Akainu received.
"PUT DOWN THAT FOOD AND ANSWER ME, DAMNIT!" Akainu's voice echoed with fury.
--
Meanwhile, Akainu sat in his office at Marineford, his cigar burning brightly as he puffed angrily. His face was a mask of rage, his eyes blazing with barely contained fury as he waited for Naruko to respond. The snail phone in front of him displayed Naruko's adult face, her expression unreadable.
Finally, Naruko's voice came through, slightly muffled by her food. "He caught me off guard, okay? The briefing I received was inadequate for necessary preparations against fighting him."
Akainu's fist smashed against his desk, papers and objects flying off with the impact. "THAT'S NO EXCUSE! I know that you're not the brightest, but even you should have been capable of bringing them back! Not even one of that crew was captured or killed!"
The snail phone laughed, mimicking Naruko's voice. "Yeah, I got a little excited about getting a chance to go a little crazy. He even broke out of my blood control, which has never happened before. His Devil Fruit certainly is unique."
--
Back on the ship, Kakashi and Iruka walked into the room silently, their expressions serious. Shiryu followed behind, his face twisted in a mix of amusement and frustration.
Naruko resumed eating as Akainu's voice continued through the snail. "He broke your blood control, did he? And what about his crew? What happened?"
Naruko swallowed a mouthful of food before answering, her tone slightly defensive. "His crew got lucky, nothing more. They were prepared for a fight, and I underestimated them. I lost control of myself when Blackbeard used his powers to disrupt my attacks."
Kakashi and Iruka exchanged glances, their expressions concerned. Shiryu leaned against the wall, puffing on his cigar and watching the conversation with mild interest.
Akainu's voice came through again, lower but no less intense. "This failure is unacceptable, Naruko. You need to rectify this. The next time you face Blackbeard, you must be ready. No more excuses."
Naruko's eyes hardened, her jaw set in determination. "I understand. I'll be better prepared next time. Blackbeard won't escape again."
Akainu's voice softened slightly, though his anger was still evident. "See that you do. We can't afford any more mistakes. The balance of power is at stake."
The snail phone went silent as the connection ended. Naruko let out a sigh, her shoulders slumping slightly. She resumed eating, though her movements were more controlled, her mind clearly focused on the conversation.
Kakashi stepped forward, his tone calm and reassuring. "We'll get him next time, Captain. We've learned from this encounter."
Iruka nodded in agreement. "We'll be ready. Blackbeard won't catch us off guard again."
Shiryu blew out a plume of smoke, a sly grin on his face. "And next time, I'll get to have some real fun. Those pirates won't know what hit them."
Naruko looked up, her expression one of fierce resolve. "You're right. Next time, we'll bring him down. And we'll make sure his crew doesn't get away either."
The ship sailed on, the calm water and clear sky a stark contrast to the determination and tension inside Naruko's office. The crew prepared for their next encounter, their minds focused on the battles yet to come. Naruko's resolve was unwavering, her will unbroken despite the setback. She was ready for whatever lay ahead, and she would stop at nothing to achieve her mission.
--
The Red Death glided into the port of Jaya, its blood-red sails catching the morning light and casting an eerie glow on the calm waters. The ship cut through the harbor smoothly, its arrival causing a stir among the dock workers and townspeople who recognized the notorious vessel. The bustling port was a mix of traders, fishermen, and a few wary-eyed pirates who cast nervous glances at the approaching ship.
As the ship docked, the crew efficiently secured the lines and lowered the gangplank. Naruko, in her adult form, strode onto the island with an air of authority. Her unique overcoat billowed slightly in the sea breeze, adding to her imposing presence. She paused at the end of the gangplank, turning to Iruka who stood ready to receive her orders.
"Iruka," she said, her voice steady and commanding, "get supplies for the ship. Make sure we have everything we need for the journey ahead."
Iruka nodded respectfully. "Yes, Captain," he replied, before heading off to the market area to fulfill his task.
Naruko then turned her gaze to Shiryu, who was leaning against the railing, a cigar perched between his lips. "Shiryu," she continued with a hint of a sinister smile, "go into town and have a 'chat' with the pirates about Blackbeard. I want to know everything they know."
Shiryu's grin widened, and he took a long puff from his cigar before nodding. "Consider it done," he said, his voice low and menacing. He then turned and walked off the ship, heading towards the seedy part of town where information flowed like cheap rum.
Kakashi fell into step beside Naruko as she began walking down the bustling street, the townspeople giving them a wide berth. The streets of Jaya were alive with the sounds of commerce and chatter, but there was an undercurrent of tension at the sight of the infamous marine captain and her crew.
As they walked, Kakashi glanced at Naruko, noticing the thoughtful expression on her face. "What are you thinking about?" he asked, his tone gentle but curious.
Naruko's eyes remained fixed ahead, but her voice carried a weight of contemplation. "I'm thinking about the future, Kakashi. I got careless while fighting Blackbeard, and because of me, he will continue to run free. It's a mistake I can't afford to make again."
Kakashi nodded, understanding her frustration. "Learning is a part of life, Naruko. We all make mistakes. I wasted too much energy chasing Augur, and it cost us. But we learn from these experiences and become stronger."
Naruko sighed, her expression softening slightly. "You're right, Kakashi. We have to learn and adapt. But I can't help but feel the weight of my responsibility. Blackbeard is dangerous, and now I have this feeling something terrible is going to happen because of my carelessness."
Kakashi placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder. "We'll find him again, and next time, we'll be ready. We'll gather the information we need, plan our strategy, and take him down. Together."
Naruko looked at him, a hint of a smile playing on her lips. "Thank you, Kakashi. Your support means a lot. We'll do this together."
They continued walking through the town, their steps purposeful and determined. The port of Jaya bustled around them, but Naruko's mind was already focused on the next steps. She was determined to turn this setback into a learning opportunity, to grow stronger and more prepared for the battles ahead. With her trusted crew by her side, she knew they would be ready to face whatever challenges came their way.
The sun climbed higher in the sky, casting long shadows across the town as Naruko and Kakashi moved through the streets. The bustling market, the wary eyes of the townspeople, and the distant clamor of the dockyards all painted a vivid picture of life in Jiya. But for Naruko, the town was just another stepping stone on her path to finding Blackbeard and bringing him to justice.
With each step, her resolve hardened. She was the Red Death, and she would not rest until her mission was complete.
--
Shiryu stood menacingly in a dimly lit room, holding a pirate's head against the wall. His fingers pressed hard against the man's skull, causing him to wince in pain. The other pirates in the room huddled in the corner, their faces pale with fear. The room was filled with the acrid scent of smoke from Shiryu's cigar.
"So, you sure you haven't seen him, huh?" Shiryu asked, his voice dripping with cold menace. He tightened his grip, causing the man's face to press harder against the wall.
One of the younger pirates, trembling, crawled forward from the corner. "W-wait," he stammered, "I... I might have seen him a couple of weeks ago."
Shiryu glanced down at the young man, slightly easing the pressure on the pirate's head. "Continue," he said, his tone icy and commanding.
Flashback--
The young man was walking to meet up with his friends when he saw the imposing form of Blackbeard and his crew near the edge of town. The late afternoon sun cast long shadows, highlighting the ragged state of the pirates. They were gathered around a makeshift camp, eating and drinking despite their evident injuries. Blackbeard, towering over the rest, was unmistakable with his wild hair and booming laughter.
The young man quickly hid alongside a crumbling wall, his heart pounding in his chest. He peered cautiously around the corner, watching the scene unfold. Blackbeard's loud voice carried over the din of the camp.
"I'm glad you were able to meet us here Laffitte" Blackbeard said, his voice full of mirth. He took a swig from a large tankard, his eyes gleaming with malice. "But you missed it! I got to test out my Devil Fruit power on none other than the Red Death herself!."
Laffitte, standing with his cane, nodded and twirled it absently. "It's unfortunate we won't be able to leave for another week due to the crew's injuries. Straw Hat and Zoro will be long gone by then, but I am happy you were able to have some fun Captain" he replied, his voice smooth and calculated.
Blackbeard let out a hearty laugh, the sound echoing through the quiet street. "It's fine. The boy is strong. They'll survive until I find him."
Nearby, Jesus Burgess, with his arm in a sling and cuts on his face, squealed in laughter, adding to the cacophony. He sat on a barrel, his muscular frame casting a large shadow. Next to him, Doc Q lay slumped over a horse, The eerie sight of Doc Q, with his sickly pallor and morose demeanor, completed the unsettling tableau, Van Augur looking none to pleased with a beer in hand.
The young man held his breath, hoping the giant pirate wouldn't notice him. His fear was palpable as he watched Blackbeard's crew, their presence a dark cloud over the town. The air was thick with tension, the kind that only comes when dangerous men are near.
Blackbeard's laughter died down, and he took another long drink from his tankard. "Once we're healed, we'll set sail. The world won't know what hit it," he declared, his voice dripping with confidence and ambition. The crew raised their glasses in a silent toast to their captain's words.
The young man didn't dare move until the sun had dipped below the horizon and the pirates had retreated to their temporary shelters. Only then did he slip away, his mind reeling from what he had witnessed.
Flashback-End--
Shiryu listened intently, his eyes narrowing as the young man recounted his story in vivid detail. When the young pirate finished speaking, Shiryu's gaze turned steely. "Where did Blackbeard go after he recovered?" he asked, his voice low and dangerous.
The young man swallowed hard. "I don't know for sure... but the crew will be looking for the Straw Hat crew."
Shiryu stood in silence for a few moments, his expression unreadable. Then, with a stoic tone, he said, "Very well then." He took a long puff on his cigar, filling his lungs with smoke before exhaling a thick cloud.
The small building quickly filled with smoke, the dense fog obscuring everything inside. From within the smoke, a couple of brief, terrified screams echoed before being abruptly silenced. The windows billowed with the thick, acrid fog, and the door burst open as Shiryu calmly walked
--
Naruko and Kakashi walked through the bustling town, the sun casting long shadows across the cobblestone streets. The town was alive with the sounds of commerce and conversation, but a sudden commotion near the tavern caught their attention. Curious, they made their way towards the source of the noise, their footsteps echoing in the narrow alleyways.
As they approached the tavern, they noticed a small crowd of pirates gathered around something—or someone. Naruko whistled sharply, the sound cutting through the air like a knife. The pirates turned, their faces contorting in fear before parting to reveal the scene.
Standing in the middle of the crowd was Donquixote Doflamingo, resplendent in his signature outfit. He wore a flamboyant pink feathered coat that contrasted starkly with his white shirt and yellow trousers. His ever-present sunglasses glinted in the sunlight, obscuring his eyes but not his wide, maniacal grin. Flanking him were two pirates who looked barely able to stand. One had springs for limbs, bouncing slightly even as he swayed unsteadily, while the other looked plain and ordinary, yet equally exhausted.
At the sound of the pirates' screams, Doflamingo turned to look behind him. His grin widened as he saw Naruko. Holding out both his arms, he laughed, a sound that was both mocking and sinister. "Well, well, well, what do we have here... none other than the famous Red Death herself," he said, his voice dripping with amusement.
As Doflamingo extended his arms, the spring-limbed pirate and his companion fell to the ground like marionettes whose strings had been cut. It was clear they had been held up by Doflamingo's invisible threads.
Naruko raised a single eyebrow at the flamboyant warlord as he approached her with a swagger. "Do these pirates belong to you? If not, I'd be more than happy to take care of them," she said, her tone cold and unyielding.
Doflamingo laughed wildly, stopping just a few feet away from Naruko. "Oh, these? They're just some poor souls who crossed my path. But you don't need to worry about trash like them. I'll make sure they don't bother anyone ever again," he replied, his voice laced with contempt and a sinister laugh following his words.
The tension between them was palpable, the crowd of pirates watching in stunned silence. Doflamingo's grin never wavered as he studied Naruko, his mind calculating and sharp. "I must say, it's an honor to finally meet you in person. Your reputation precedes you," he said.
Naruko's eyes narrowed slightly, her gaze unwavering. "And yours as well, Doflamingo. What brings you to this part of the Grand Line?" she asked, her curiosity piqued despite the tension.
Doflamingo shrugged casually, the feathers of his coat rustling with the movement. "Oh, you know, business as usual. Gathering resources, making connections, the usual warlord activities," he replied nonchalantly. "But I must admit, running into you was a pleasant surprise."
Kakashi, standing silently beside Naruko, observed the exchange with keen interest. He knew Doflamingo's reputation well and understood the danger he posed. Yet, he remained ready, his hand subtly hovering near his weapon.
Naruko glanced at the fallen pirates, then back at Doflamingo. "I see. Well, I have my own business to attend to. But I'd advise you to stay out of my way, Doflamingo," she said, her voice firm and commanding.
Doflamingo's grin widened, if that were possible. "Oh, I wouldn't dream of it. But let's not be strangers. We might find our interests aligning more often than not," he said, his tone dripping with implication.
Naruko simply nodded, her expression unchanging. "We'll see," she replied curtly.
Doflamingo turned on his heel, his coat flaring dramatically as he walked away. The crowd of pirates parted for him, their expressions a mix of fear and awe. Naruko watched him go, her mind already shifting back to her own mission.
Kakashi leaned in slightly. "Do you think he's up to something?" he asked, his voice low and cautious.
Naruko nodded. "Always. But we have our own path to follow. Let's not get distracted," she replied, her eyes scanning the crowd before settling back on Kakashi.
As they continued through the town, the encounter with Doflamingo lingered in their minds. The warlord was a dangerous wild card in the chaotic world of the Grand Line, and his presence was never to be taken lightly. But Naruko was resolute, her focus unwavering. She had a mission to complete, and nothing would stand in her way.
The sun continued its journey across the sky, casting the town in a warm, golden light. Naruko and Kakashi moved with purpose, each step taking them closer to their next objective. The encounter with Doflamingo was a reminder of the unpredictable nature of their world, but it also strengthened their resolve. They would be ready for whatever came next, their eyes set firmly on their goal.
--
Iruka stood on the dock, watching as a group of Marines loaded crates and barrels onto Naruko's ship. The air was filled with the sound of grunts and clattering wood as the Marines worked diligently, stacking the supplies in neat rows. The morning sun cast a golden hue over the bustling port, reflecting off the calm waters and creating a picturesque scene that belied the tension simmering beneath the surface.
Iruka sighed, running a hand through his hair. The supplies they were loading wouldn't last long, especially with Naruko's voracious appetite and the demands of their crew. He mentally calculated their consumption rate, realizing they'd be out of provisions sooner than he'd like. "This won't keep us going for long," he muttered to himself, shaking his head. The responsibility of ensuring the ship was well-stocked weighed heavily on him, and he knew they'd need to find a solution soon.
One of the Marines, a burly man with a sweat-streaked face, paused to wipe his brow. He caught Iruka's eye and offered a weary smile. "We're almost done here, sir. Should be enough for a couple of weeks, right?"
Iruka forced a smile in return, though his worry didn't dissipate. "Thanks for your hard work. It'll have to do for now," he replied, his voice carrying a hint of resignation. He knew they'd have to restock sooner rather than later, and the nearest Marine base was their best bet.
He turned his gaze toward the horizon, where the silhouette of a small island loomed in the distance. "At least there's a Marine base nearby," he thought, finding some solace in that fact. The base would have the resources they needed to fully resupply and perhaps gather some valuable information for their mission.
Kakashi approached quietly, his presence a calming contrast to the chaotic activity on the dock. "How are things looking?" he asked, his one visible eye focused on the loading process.
Iruka shrugged, his concern evident. "We've got enough for a short while, but we'll need to stock up properly at the Marine base. It's not ideal, but it's our best option."
Kakashi nodded, understanding the weight of Iruka's words. "We'll make it work. Naruko's determination will get us through. And the base might have some intel on Blackbeard or the Straw Hats."
Iruka sighed again, the weight of their mission pressing down on him. "I hope you're right. We can't afford any more setbacks. We need to be ready for whatever comes our way."
As the last of the crates were loaded onto the ship, Iruka gave a nod of approval to the Marines. "Good work, everyone. Let's get everything secured and prepare to set sail."
The Marines responded with a chorus of "Yes, sir!" and continued their tasks with renewed vigor. Iruka turned to Kakashi, his expression softening slightly. "Thanks for the support. We're all in this together, and I'm glad to have you by my side."
Kakashi's eye crinkled in a reassuring smile. "We've got each other's backs. We'll make it through, Iruka."
With the supplies loaded and the crew ready, Iruka took one last look at the bustling port before heading back onto the ship. The journey ahead was uncertain, but with their combined strength and resolve, he believed they could face whatever challenges lay in wait. The promise of resupply at the Marine base provided a glimmer of hope, a small reprieve in the relentless march of their mission. And with Naruko leading the way, there was no doubt they would press on, undeterred and unwavering.
--
Naruko strolled through the shady town in her child form, her small figure contrasting sharply with the carnage surrounding her. The air was thick with the metallic scent of blood, and the ground was littered with the bodies of dead pirates. She whistled a jaunty tune, her eyes scanning the area for any sign of Shiryu. The scene was a grim testament to the brutal efficiency of her crew.
As she rounded a corner, Shiryu emerged slowly from an alleyway, dragging a struggling pirate. His large hand covered the front half of the man's head, fingers pressing into his skull with an almost casual strength. The pirate's muffled cries were barely audible over the eerie silence that had settled over the town.
Naruko pouted, her expression one of exaggerated disappointment. "I would have killed some of Doflamingo's pirates if I knew you were going to hog all the fun," she said, her tone petulant yet playful.
Shiryu didn't respond immediately. Instead, he tightened his grip, and with a sickening crunch, he crushed the man's head before dropping the lifeless body to the ground. He wiped his bloodied hand on his coat as he approached Naruko, a twisted grin on his face. "You didn't miss out on much. They weren't that fun to play with," he replied nonchalantly.
Naruko sighed theatrically, placing her hands on her hips. "Did you at least get any information out of them before killing them all?" she asked, her voice tinged with curiosity.
Shiryu nodded, his grin widening. "I got enough," he said simply.
Naruko turned around with a pout, placing her hands behind her head as she began to walk back. Shiryu fell into step a few paces behind her, his presence a looming shadow. They walked in silence for a few moments, the sound of their footsteps echoing in the empty streets.
After a few steps, Naruko stopped abruptly and turned her head slightly, a smirk playing on her lips. "Oh, by the way, you missed a few," she said, her voice dripping with mischief.
Shiryu's brow furrowed in confusion. Before he could respond, Naruko snapped her fingers. Almost instantly, the air was filled with the sound of quick, agonized screams. Blood spurted from hidden nooks and crannies throughout the area, painting the walls and ground in fresh crimson. The sudden violence was both swift and brutal, a testament to Naruko's control over her surroundings.
Naruko laughed, a high, clear sound that seemed almost innocent despite the macabre scene. She continued walking, her smirk never fading. Shiryu followed, his expression shifting from confusion to a twisted sort of admiration. He had always known Naruko was deadly, but her capacity for orchestrating such calculated carnage never ceased to amaze him.
As they walked through the desolate streets, the evidence of their handiwork was everywhere. Bodies lay crumpled in doorways and alleys, their lifeblood pooling beneath them. The town, once a bustling den of piracy and crime, was now eerily silent, the only sound the occasional drip of blood from a freshly fallen corpse.
Naruko paused for a moment, taking in the scene before her. She breathed in deeply, the scent of blood and saltwater filling her lungs. This was her world—a world of chaos, power, and unyielding determination, Luffy could have his freedom..this was hers.
--
The Red Death was leaving the island, its blood-red sails billowing in the wind as the ship cut through the dark waters. The aftermath of their visit was left behind, a grim reminder of their power and purpose. Naruko, in her child form, was about to step inside the ship when a loud bell rang out from above, breaking the silence of the evening.
Naruko paused, her head snapping up at the sound. Kakashi, Iruka, and Shiryu followed her gaze, their eyes scanning the sky. The bell rang again, louder this time, and a giant visage formed in the clouds. It was a familiar face—Luffy, with his arms and legs spread out in joy, a wide grin plastered across his face.
Naruko's heart swelled with emotion as she watched the spectacle. A huge smile spread across her face, one that lit up her entire being. For a moment, the harshness of her world melted away, replaced by pure, unadulterated happiness. She knew that wherever Luffy was, he was having the time of his life on some grand adventure.
"Luffy..." she whispered, her voice filled with pride and affection.
Kakashi, standing a few feet behind her, noticed the change in her demeanor. It was rare to see Naruko so genuinely happy, and the sight warmed his heart. He stepped closer, a soft smile on his face. "Looks like your brother is making quite the impression," he said, his voice gentle.
Naruko nodded, her eyes never leaving the sky. "He's always been like that. Ever since we were kids, he dreamed of becoming a pirate and having grand adventures. I'm glad to see he's living his dream."
Iruka and Shiryu stood quietly, respecting the moment. Even Shiryu, usually so detached, seemed to soften as he watched the joy on Naruko's face. It was a rare glimpse of the girl behind the fearsome captain, a reminder of the ties that bound them all.
The bell rang once more, the image of Luffy in the clouds gradually fading away. Naruko took a deep breath, her smile lingering. She felt a renewed sense of determination. If Luffy could follow his dreams with such fervor, so could she. Their paths might be different, but the spirit of adventure and the will to succeed connected them.
"He's out there, somewhere," Naruko said, turning to face her crew. "And one day, we'll meet again. Until then, we keep moving forward."
Kakashi nodded, his respect for her growing even more. "We'll be ready," he assured her. "No matter where the journey takes us."
Iruka smiled, placing a reassuring hand on Naruko's shoulder. "We'll follow you, Captain. To the ends of the earth if we have to."
Shiryu, ever the pragmatist, simply gave a nod. "Let's get back to work. We've got a lot ahead of us."
Naruko's smile turned into a determined grin as she led her crew back inside the ship. The Red Death continued its journey, the memory of Luffy's joyous visage a beacon in Naruko's heart. She would become the strongest Marine, not just for herself, but to make her brother proud. Their adventures were intertwined, each step bringing them closer to their destinies.
As the ship sailed on, Naruko felt a sense of peace. She knew Luffy was out there, carving his path just as she was. And that knowledge gave her strength. With her crew by her side and her brother's spirit guiding her, she was ready for whatever lay ahead.
