A/N: Welcome one and all to my second attempt at a tokyo mew mew fanfiction. I originally started this story back in 2019 when I had no idea what we were going to be getting in the coming months for the series. After a few false starts and a long pause, I've decided to give this story another shot.

If you're here for the first time, then all you really need to know is that this is my attempt at making a sort of "tokyo mew mew season 4" if you will. For the sake of that idea, we're going to pretend that the ps1 game counted as an OVA and A La Mode was season 3.

If you're a returning reader then, welcome back. You're definitely going to want to start from chapter 1 again as I've made some edits to the story. I like to think my writing has improved in the last 5 years.

I'm trying to make the story fit into the canon of the original anime, the manga, and the tokyo mew mew new anime. So bits from all of those versions of the series here. On top of that, I will at times be referring to the aliens as "Cyniclons" as even if I don't like the English dub, I do like that it gave us a name for their species.

It was a beautiful day outside, a gentle breeze floated through the trees, birds sang, squirrels were running around playing with each other. On a nice Spring day like today, Ringo Akai had decided to take a nice long walk with her best friend Yuki. The faithful penguin had been by her side for as long as she could remember. There wasn't much of a plan as to where they were going, but it would seem that her feet knew where to take them. Ringo smiled when she came across the cabin that started it all. It was still as clean and beautiful as it had been over a year ago, but it felt like just yesterday that her friends had been occupying it. The team, known as Tokyo Mew Mew, had stayed at that cabin a couple Summers ago.

Yuki chirped as she ran up the steps of the porch and began to jump around in one spot. "That's right Yuki! That's where I first transformed!" The aliens the team had been protecting Tokyo from, the Cyniclons, had come here to Ringo's island in order to use their parapara on the endangered animals here. They made a mistake though, they took Yuki. Getting Yuki back was enough to cause Ringo to be able to transform herself. Her bond with Yuki had reacted with the mew aqua in her mother's pendant and caused her to be able to transform on her own.

Ringo's brother Mashio had been less than thrilled about his sister becoming a Mew Mew, but he wasn't even keen on the group staying on the island in the first place. She was sure he was thrilled when she wasn't needed to help combat Deep Blue or the Saint Rose Crusaders, but Ringo herself wasn't exactly pleased.

It wasn't that she wanted to be thrown into danger, but the girls were her best friends, her only friends really, besides Yuki. If it meant being able to spend time with them again, she would do anything. Even fight an alien god or a psychic cult.

She did have the means to contact the others, frequently she would contact Pudding as they were the closest in age and had the most to talk about. It wasn't the same as having the girls here, but it was nice. Pudding would talk all about how fun it was to work in the café, she'd talk about how they'd all transferred to their teammate Berry's school, and how Ringo should come visit sometime. Mashio would never let her, even after proving herself capable in the field Mashio still preferred to never let her out of his sight.

"Ringo!" she heard her brother calling for her, speak of the devil. "Ringo, come quick! You're never going to believe this!"

It was a typical day at Café Mew Mew, Ryou leaned back in his chair and watched the chaos unfold. Pudding still couldn't go five minutes without breaking a plate or a cup, Lettuce and Ichigo were the only ones actually trying to serve the customers, Mint and Zakuro were having tea at one of the tables, and Berry and Tasuku were out on a delivery. Having their former enemies, the Cyniclons, working at the cafe was a bit awkward at first, but it certainly made things a little easier. The girls were capable but if they were just normal employees, he'd have fired them years ago. With Kish at the register and Tart running around after Pudding, cleaning up her messes, at least they had something.

Out of the corner of his eye he spotted Masaya at a table just smiling and watching Ichigo run around and serve the others… Maybe he should consider hiring him too. Keiichiro could surely use some help in the kitchen, and while Pie was decent at it, someone with a better grip on human desserts might be helpful.

"Excuse me, Ryou, Pie says we're needed in the basement." Keiichiro whispered as he passed by. Confused, Ryou turned to look at the brunette and saw he had a serious face on.

"Kish, check out the last of those customers. I have a bad feeling." He directed at the alien behind the counter before heading down.

When the two of them reached the basement, Pie was standing at the computer and large television screen. "I'm sorry to interrupt, but there is an emergency light flashing, and it is not the one I'm used to." Pie offered.

Keiichiro approached the computer and pushed a few buttons. "A video message from Mashio Akai…"

"Mashio isn't that…Ringo's brother?" Ryou asked. Keiichiro nodded to the affirmative.

The video opened up with Ringo fighting several chimera anima on her island. Mashio was screaming to be careful, but Ringo was no match for all of them on her own. The video cut when Ringo was flung back at her brother.

"That doesn't seem right, parapara possessing that many animals at once? With no commands? Sure we still run into one or two occasionally but never this many." Ryou said puzzled.

Before Keiichiro could respond another video call started coming through, when they answered Ringo was on the line holding an ice pack to her head. "Ryou-san, Keiichiro-san, I have a very strange question for you. You didn't happen to make any other mew mews, did you?" Ringo asked.

Before the men could answer she turned her camera towards the possessed animals, you could just barely make out two girls floating in the air above them. As she zoomed in, their features became easier to see. Two girls, one in an all white dress with green eyes and a green leg wrap, the other in all black with bright pink eyes and a pink scarf. The former had mouse ears and a tail while the other was clearly a cat.

Suddenly the cat girl-esque mew mew cackled, floating a little closer to Ringo as she did. "Oh someone made us, but it wasn't those two puny nobodies. My sister and I work alone, our creators abandoned us ages ago."

"Why are you doing this?" Mashio shouted, "if this is for those Cyniclons again I'll fucking kill them!" Ringo covered Mashio's mouth. Sometimes he didn't know when to shut up.

The cat girl scoffed while her mouse teammate smirked before opening her mouth to speak as well. Her voice was much less crass than that of her teammate, but just as self-assured. "Please, my sister and I simply did this to test out our abilities. You two have been really fun to play with, but we're just getting started."

As Ryou, Pie, and Keiichiro watched this unfold, Kish came downstairs. "The customers are all out, all that's left upstairs are the girls, Tart, and Ichigo's precious Aoyama." He let out an annoyed sigh, throwing his arms back behind his head. "Man you guys really clear out every time there's a chimera anima attack? What a pain."

"Kish, now isn't the time." Pie spoke gruffly, nodding towards the screen.

"Hmmm, oh I remember that island. I had so much fun playing with my kitten there." Kish mused as he got closer to the screen. His eyes locked onto the cat girl Mew currently ordering the attack on Ringo and her brother. "Strange, she looks similar.."

"I might be needing some back up here!" Ringo pleaded into the camera as she continued to fight off the chimera anima.

"Damn it, it takes an hour by plane to get to the island!" Ryou "Think, think."

"I'm on it! I could use some entertainment!~" And with that Kish opened a portal and hopped through. Within moments he was on the screen next to Ringo. "Hey there, heard you needed backup?"

Ringo froze up in an instant seeing Kish. She had heard from Pudding that he and his two companions had been hanging around Tokyo recently, but that didn't mean she was exactly expecting him.

"Not from you damn it!" Mashio protested, however in his current beat up state, the best he could do was continue to lie down on the ground where he was.

"Ringo, Kish will be your backup for now. I'll get the girls!" Ryou ordered. "Pie, I need you and Tart there soon. It's not that Kish can't hold his own, but we're not sure exactly what he's up against.

Pie nodded, teleporting first upstairs, and then an instant later showing up on the island with Tart.

"O-okay this is really weird, but if you say so Ryou!" Ringo called.

"I'll keep an eye on the monitor." Keiichiro said, pulling over a chair and sitting down. "Mashio, keep this line up for as long as you can.

"Awww did the little Penguin need some backup?" The Cat taunted. "I'm so flattered!" She called as she summoned her own weapon. "Oribellbell!" As if her cat ears and dark color scheme didn't already make her look like a dark Ichigo, her own dark heart shaped bell weapon certainly did.

"Mew weapons and parapara, now this is going to be fun." Kish said, a glint in his eye as he summoned his tonfas. Within moments, he himself was up in the air willing to fight the cat.

"Tart, you and Ringo handle the chimera anima. I'll go for the Mouse." Pie ordered, summoning his bow staff and flying at the Mouse. She herself had summoned her own weapon, the Shottavino as she called it. It looked like a small green baton.

Before Ringo had time to process anything else about either Mew's weapon, Tart pulled her back to earth. "Let's get these chimera anima taken care of sooner rather than later." He said, small bombs in both of his hands.

"Right." Ringo nodded.

So this is a very different place to leave the first chapter off from where I left it the first time. I wanted to take some more time at the bottom here to give some notes on what I put here in this chapter.

Tart, Pie, and Kish being on Earth and working at Cafe Mew Mew was taken from the Tokyo Mew Mew 2020 Re-turn manga. It wasn't something I entirely liked the idea of when I originally read the two chapter continuation Mia Ikumi wrote, but I have to admit the idea has grown on me.

Next I want to talk about the two villain mews Ringo and the boys were fighting this chapter. Their designs are based around Hime Azumi/Tokyo Black Cat Girl from Miya Ikumi and the scrapped Mouse Mew also from Miya Ikumi. Since Mia Ikumi said that the mouse girl was intended to be green like Lettuce with the bandages on her ankle and arm being presumably white, I decided to swap those colors around so her main color is white with the bandages and her eyes being green. The cat will keep her black dress, pink eyes, and pink scarf however.

I've named them Mew Oribu (olive) for the cat and Mew Shoga (ginger) for the mouse. Since I intended for Oribu to still look like Ichigo, I figured a dark Ichigo vibe to her would be cool. She is also fused with the Iriomote wildcat and so her weapon is also a heart shaped bell like Ichigo's. Only difference being that hers is a black bell.

Shoga on the other hand has the ottavino or piccolo as the musical themed part of her weapon.
