Chapter 4: The Alliance

Back on Sonic's World, Tails and the others were in his lab still figuring out what kind of phenomenon was that and where it took Sonic.

"So, how are we supposed to find out where that light took Sonic?"

Amy asked.

"That... I'm still not sure, however, I was able capture some of the effect of that light."

Tails said bring out a vile of tiny dust.

"What do you suppose it is?"

Asked Cream

"Well, by the looks of it, this can't be Eggman's, he isn't too advanced to pull off something like that."

Knuckles said as they heard something and looked up to find a mysterious object came down from above.

"I hate to agree, but Noodles is right."

The figure said as it revealed to be Dr. Eggman himself.

"Speaking of which."

Knuckles said cracking his Knuckles, getting into a fighting stance.

"What are you doing here, Eggman?"

Tails said also getting in a fight stance.

"Relax, I'm not here to fight."

"You have 3 minutes to explain or Get Lost!"

Amy said pulling out her hammer.

"Gladly, you see, I too witnessed what happened at Emerald Coast..."

Flashback*

Eggman was at the other side of Emerald Coast sunbathing, with orbot fanning and Cubot being a drink holder,

"Faster Orbot."

"Yes sir."

Orbot giving command as Eggman was feeling a bit parched, he grabbed for a his drink and drink it

"Ahh... that hit the spot."

He said as he felt like being watch and looked over to a bunch of kids looking at him, concerningly.

"What are you looking at? Can't a Villain relax as well? Scram Before I Blast You Into Nothing!"

He frightened the kids away.

"Hypocrites."

Eggman unknowingly pulled out binoculars and watch kids that were everywhere.

"Kids these days... having care free in the world... if it were me, I'd- Wait!"

He passed something blue and went back to see Sonic from across relaxing as well.

"Oh look who it is."

"Mommy?"

Cubot Guessed.

"Blue pineapple is here, and so are his companions."

Eggman said also spotting Sonic's friends playing in the water.

"Well then, I would attack, but because I'm relaxing, as long as they don't bother me, I won't bother them."

He said getting back into chill mode, until he felt no breeze, and began to grunt.

"Did I Order You To Stop Fanning?!"

He yelled at Orbot, slamming his head.

"Apologies sir, but I seen to be detecting an unknown energy source, coming this way."

Eggman pulled his binoculars back out to find it, and the was nothing, but then he spotted the green glowing circle that was around Amy and Cream from the water.

"Hmm."

Then the light burst out of the water, blowing Eggman off his chair, he got back up to find a beacon of green light, he then also spotted Sonic running twords it to save Amy, and fell in, then disappeared.

"Well well, this could be... interesting, Orbot, I want a full scan report of that source immediately."

"Yes sir."

"And you, fetch me more of that juice, I'm still thirsty."

He ordered Cubot for another juice.

"Got it."

He brought out from his insides but then spilled it on the Doctor's face, leaving his face to turn red.

"Oops."

"YOU IMBECILE!!!"

He kicked Cubot high in the air, then crash landed into sand, face front.

"Now then, I assumed you'd want to look at this too, so I figure, let us form an alliance."

Eggman finished.

"How do we know we can actually trust you this time?"

Amy pointed her hammer at him.

"Yeah, you've dooped us countless times for your own personal gain before."

"Hmm..."

Tails was really into thought.

"Fine."

He spoke out as his friends could not believe his words.

"Tails, you don't actually believe him, do you?"

Amy asked.

"I wish, but we don't have any other choice, if we're gonna find Sonic and the Emeralds and figure out what this stuff has to do with it, we're gonna need all the help we can get, besides, Eggman has helped with our past events before, despite our differences."

"My, That actually means alot coming from a fellow genius."

Eggman said with respect for Tails.

"Ah, What the heck, we have done this before, and even if he does doop us again, it's nothing we can't handle."

Knuckles whispered that last part, with Eggman having a vine on his forehead hearing it.

"Alright, count me in."

Amy joined.

"We're in too, Anything for Sonic."

Said Cream.

"Chao, Chao!"

Cheese chanted.

"Ok Eggman, here's what we have so far."

Tails said giving the vile to Eggman to study it.

"Hmm... just as i thought, these readings show the same amounts of energy from that mysterious light, Lucky I was able to record it, thanks to my hidden cameras and-."

"Woah woah woah, hidden cameras!? Does that mean you spy on all of us?"

Amy asked as everyone gave Eggman the stink eye

"Nooooo. No! No. Of course I did- n't"

He said clearing his throat.

"Anyway, as you can see..."

He played a recording of the incident.

"... By looking at the exact projectory and everything, I can conclude that it was an explosion from a great power from another world, which the Chaos Emeralds have reacted to and both came into contact, and that light was brought here."

"So these particles were from a weapon of massive destruction."

Amy theorized.

"Exactly, by scanning these particles, I was can theorize that this is what the weapon looked like before."

Tails pulled out a vision board to find this weapon appeared to be a Trident.

"Great, It's a Fork."

Knuckles guessed.

"No silly, it's a trident."

Cream answered.

"In history class, I learned in ancient times, underwater creatures used long forks called Tridents to defend themselves."

She said being cutely clever.

"I see, well due to the amounts of that light, that Trident must have been very powerful, probably as powerful as the Chaos Emeralds."

Tails continued.

"Oh really?"

Eggman grinned.

"Hey! don't think you aren't off the hook yet, I still have my eye on you."

Knuckles warned.

"Who? me? why I never-"

He said as he walked away but was stopped by Amy's hammer in the way.

"You were saying?"

She said as he sweat dropped a bit.

"Hmm..."

tails was deep into thought about the energy from this trident and then it hit him

"That's it!"

"Wait, you wanna hitting Eggman?"

Amy asked.

"No no no, I mean this, if this came from an explosion that turned out to be a portal, what if we use this to make our own portal, and go wherever Sonic is."

"Hmm... It is possible, however you overlook one detail, Fox boy, when that blast came into Chaos Emeralds, it's what resulted into creation of it, and the emeralds are with Sonic, even if we did, we won't know where we'll end up without the power of the emeralds."

He said as everyone then looked down, while Knuckles on the other hand.

"What about the master emerald?"

He said as everyone then looked up at Knuckles.

"Of course, with that, we'll track the Emeralds to where Sonic is and be on our way."

Tails explained once more.

"Are you sure about this Knuckles, are you actually okay with it?"

Amy asked.

"Normally, I wouldn't be, but this time, I'll make an acception."

Knuckles approved the permission.

"Well then, let's get to work."

Eggman said.

"Right."

Tails nodded as he and Eggman got to work to developing a portal to find there friend/enemy, while the camera zooms in to the vile of the dust and it starts to slowly glow rapidly.
