Shark Tale has always been one of my favorite animated films to watch ever since childhood and I still enjoy watching the movie so much, and since I love Shark Tale so much, I decided to do a whole seventeen-part miniseries version of the movie that serves as a whole retelling of the movie which is known as When A Little Fish Tells A Great White Lie that has brand new scenes, brand new characters, brand new locations, different dialogue. Episode 2: Being A Somebody
Chapter 4: Oscar's Own Insecurities
Later on that day at the Whale Wash of Southside Reef, Nelson is continuing doing his own hard work as the leader of the professional Whale Wash dental squad along with Wendell, Hayley, and the rest of his fellow co-workers and they all continue to work together to clean up the sperm whale customer's teeth by using automatic mops, buckets filled with toothpaste, and dental floss, and they are already aware that the customer doesn't have any cavities in her teeth so it could be taken good care of by drilling into them and filling them up in order to have them saved or having them removed if they're unable to save it at all.
Soon, Nelson, Wendell, Hayley, and the rest of the members of the dental squad get finished with cleaning up the sperm whale customer's teeth and quickly swam right out of her along with all of their cleaning supplies, and one of the members of the dental squad holding a hose filled with mouthwash went right up to the customer's blowhole where she poured some mouthwash with the hose into her blowhole and the customer swishes her mouth with the mouthwash for a moment until she quickly spits it out. After Nelson and his co-workers have finished cleaning the customer's teeth and one of the members of the dental squad helps her with swishing her mouth with mouthwash in her blowhole with the hose, the customer's teeth are now all clean.
Once Nelson, Wendell, Hayley, and the rest of the members of the professional dental squad has finished with cleaning up the customer's teeth, the customer began expressing her own gratitude towards Nelson and his co-workers for cleaning up her own teeth when she needed it very much, and Nelson, Wendell, and Hayley reminds the customer where exactly when she needs her own teeth to be cleaned up as well as having her own cavities taken good care of which is the Whale Wash of Southside Reef while they also inform her about the finest toothpaste, mouthwash, and floss that they have so far which delights her very much.
"Thank you very much for cleaning my teeth, dental squad." said the sperm whale customer just as she smiled.
"No problem, ma'am." said Wendell.
"Our pleasure," said Hayley.
"It's at least something we could do for a loyal customer like you," said Nelson.
"Also, I am very relieved that I didn't have any cavities either." said the sperm whale customer.
"We're relieved about the same thing too." said Hayley.
"And if you did had cavities, we'll take good care of them for sure," said Wendell.
"You could count on the professional dental squad anytime," said Hayley.
"It's our very own job to do so at the Whale Wash." said Wendell.
"Ma'am, make sure that you keep your teeth clean no matter what." said Nelson.
"Don't worry, I'll make sure of it and I have my teeth cleaned every day." said the sperm whale customer.
"And you know exactly to have your teeth taken good care of, and that is Sykes' Whale Wash. You know, you get a whale of a wash and the price is oh, my gosh." said Nelson.
"I already know, and thanks." said the sperm whale customer.
"Oh, and the next time you come to the Whale Wash to have your teeth spotless for sure, you wanna hear about the finest toothpaste, mouthwash, and floss we have so far?" asked Nelson.
"Sure, Nelson, I do wanna hear all about it. So, what kind of toothpaste, mouthwash, and floss do you have so far?" asked the sperm whale customer."
"Well, we have some bubblegum-flavored toothpaste, some peppermint-flavored toothpaste, and some cotton candy-flavored toothpaste." explained Nelson. "We have some ripple berry mouthwash, some wave berry mouthwash, and some bubble berry mouthwash, and we have some cherry floss, some grape floss, and some peach floss."
"Really? That's amazing to hear about and I really wanna try out either of them the next time I come here to have my teeth cleaned up." said the sperm whale customer. "Oh, all of them sound really good to use for making teeth all clean."
"Actually, you can use all of those kinds 'cause we use different kinds of those flavors for the toothpaste, mouthwash, and flavors when it's time for work," said Nelson.
"Wow! I'm really looking forward to using those kinds of flavors that you just told me about, and you guys are really busy with using them all." said the sperm whale customer.
"We've always been very busy with using all of them, and good luck, kind ma'am. Good luck and your teeth are now all clean. Congratulations." said Nelson.
"I'll see ya later." said the sperm whale customer.
Nelson then warmly embraced the sperm whale customer on her own side, and then she leaves the Whale Wash dental section once she got finished with having all of her teeth cleaned up with the help of Nelson, Wendell, Hayley, and the rest of the members of the Whale Wash dental squad just as they all waved bye to her and they prepare to get ready to clean up the teeth of the next sperm whale customer, and just as they are about to clean up the next customer's teeth when he suddenly began arriving at the dental section, Nelson quickly noticed a delivery fish man arrive right in front of the Whale Wash on his own fish delivery truck which means that he has brought the more toothpaste, mouthwash, and dental floss they have needed so much since they have been running out of lately, and Nelson proceeds to head to the delivery man to retrieve what he and the dental squad has ordered while Wendell, Hayley, and the rest of the members of the dental squad prepares to clean up the next customer's teeth.
"Oh, the delivery man is here with the toothpaste, mouthwash, and dental floss we needed since we've been running low on it." said Nelson. "I'm gonna go get it while you and the others start cleaning up the next customer's teeth, okay?"
"Yes, Nel." said Wendell.
"You got it, sir." said Hayley.
"Thanks. I'll be right back." said Nelson.
"Right." said Hayley.
"Right," said Wendell.
"Well, you heard our leader, everybody." said Hayley.
"Let's get to work right now," said Wendell.
"Yeah!" said the Whale Was dental squad members.
Nelson then leaves the dental section and swam right towards the fish delivery man who have just arrived right in front of the Whale Wash along with the things he and his co-workers has ordered which is the toothpaste, mouthwash, and dental floss since they've been running low on their supplies of them lately, and while he does so, Wendell, Hayley, and the rest of the members of the dental squad proceeds to continue with cleaning up the next sperm whale customer's teeth just as they all quickly went inside of his teeth once he quickly opened it up and began using the dental instruments in order to check that he has any cavities or not before they could begin using automatic mops, buckets of toothpaste, and dental floss in order to start cleaning up his own teeth. Nelson kindly greeted the delivery man and proceeded to get what he and his co-workers had ordered for more dental supplies for the customers.
"Hello, sir," said Nelson.
"Hey, Nel." said the fish delivery man.
"Did you bring what the rest of the dental squad and I had ordered?" asked Nelson.
"Yes, and they're all right here." said the fish delivery man just as his fish delivery truck opened up his mouth and revealed the dental supplies to Nelson.
"Is that the toothpaste, the mouthwash, and the dental floss?" asked Nelson.
"Mmm-hmm, and it's exactly what you and your co-workers had ordered and that will be 50 clams and 99 scallops." said the fish delivery man.
"Coming right up, kind sir." said Nelson. He gets out the right amount of money to pay for the dental supplies delivery which is 50 clams and 99 scallops to the fish delivery man.
"Thanks." sad the fish delivery man.
"Also, all of these supplies are for the customers since they really needed their teeth to be taken good care of." said Nelson.
"I can see that and I already know that too, and you and your co-workers good luck on taking good care of the customers' teeth since they needed it so much." said the fish delivery man.
"We will, and good luck on your deliveries," said Nelson.
"I will too. Bye." said the fish delivery man.
"See ya." said Nelson.
Then, Nelson takes the supplies of toothpaste, mouthwash, and dental floss which each of them are inside of three delivery boxes, from out of the fish delivery man's fish delivery truck, and the fish delivery man leaves right in front of the Whale Wash on his fish delivery truck and Nelson proceeds to carry the three boxes filled with dental supplies right towards the dental section of the Whale Wash. While he does so, Nelson suddenly accidentally allow most of the toothpaste to fall from one of the delivery boxes since it quickly turns out that the three boxes are very heavy to carry all by himself way back to the dental section, and once most of the toothpaste fell out of the box, he proceeds to put them all back in the box so he could continue to carry it and the rest of the boxes filled with dental supplies to the dental section.
While Nelson began putting most of the toothpaste back into one of the delivery boxes after he accidentally had them fall into the ground due to the three boxes being very heavy, both Angie and Sabrina continue answering the customers on both of the telephone and headset and continue doing some paperwork together just as they also work together to have one of the sperm whale customers pay up of what he needed to be cleaned up, and Sabrina quickly noticed Nelson picking up all of the toothpaste that he has accidentally dropped and quickly decides to help him out.
"Um, ma'am, can you please hold?" said Sabrina on the headset. The customer answers her on the headset. "Okay. I'll be right back with ya. There's something I need to do." Sabrina takes off her headset and turns to Ang. "Hey, Ang."
"What is it, Brina?" asked Angie.
"I saw Nel accidentally drop some of the toothpaste that he has delivered and he needs some help," said Sabrina. "I'm gonna go help him out and I'll be right back."
"Okay, and I'll continue with doing all of the phone calls and all of the paperwork," said Angie.
"Oh, and focus on the customer too since he really needs to pay up on what he needs to be cleaned up at the Whale Wash." said Sabrina.
"Right, and it was really kind of you to decide to help out Nelson with picking up all of that toothpaste when he needed it."
"Those delivery boxes must've been very heavy for him to carry himself like it usually has.
"Mmm-hmm, and let's be honest, carrying delivery boxes could be difficult to carry, even when it's work time." said Angie.
"Uh-huh. I'll be back, sister." said Sabrina.
"See ya and good luck," said Angie.
Sabrina gives Angie a a peace sign and then leaves the Whale Wash receptionist office in order to help out Nelson with picking up all of the toothpaste that has fallen from one of the three boxes that he has been carrying right towards the Whale Wash while Angie continues doing the phone calls, the paperwork, and even focusing on the latest sperm whale customer who informs Angie what exactly he needs for having her own personal hygiene taken good care of by the many employees who work at the Whale Wash while Angie is very amazed by Sabrina deciding to do the act of kindness of helping Nelson out with picking up the toothpaste back in the box when he really needed it.
"Hey, Ang, where's Brina going?" asked the sperm whale customer in surprise.
"She has some business to take good care of." answered Angie.
"Oh, right. I can already see that." said the sperm whale customer.
"But don't worry, ma'am, Brina will be back in no time at all." said Angie.
"Alright. If you say so." said the sperm whale customer.
"Well, about the finest cleaning supplies we have here, what do you wanna use, ma'am?" asked Angie.
"I would like to try out the foam, please." said the sperm whale customer.
"Alright, and that's really on the special today." said Angie
"That's good to hear about." said the sperm whale customer.
"Oh, and would you wanna try out the detergent and the conditioner too. They're both on the special just like the foam." said Angie.
"Yes, and I really love to, Ang." said the sperm whale customer.
"Okay, ma'am, and that will be twenty clams and ninety-nine scallops," said Angie.
"Here you go, and see ya later." said the sperm whale customer.
"Good luck getting cleaned up," said Angie.
The sperm whale customer gets out twenty clams and ninety-nine scallops and gives it to Angie from her own gigantic fin, and then she leaves the receptionist office to begin having herself cleaned up and having her own personal hygiene taken good care of by the many employees of the Whale Wash just as Angie smiled and waved bye to her. Once the customer had left to get started on having the employees cleaning her up, Angie continued having her phone call with one of the other sperm whale customers and doing some of the paperwork while she began waiting for Sabrina to come back to the receptionist office so they could continue doing their hard work together as the receptionist and the assistant receptionist of the Whale Wash together and she is very amazed by how she has quickly decided to be so kind by helping out Nelson with gathering up the toothpaste when he needed it.
Just as Angie continued doing all of the phone calls and paperwork at the Whale Wash while she prepares to help out with another sperm whale customer with what they actually needed to be cleaned up once they have arrived to pay up with the right amount of money at the receptionist office which is usually twenty dollars and ninety-nine scallops, Sabrina quickly swam up to Nelson and proceeds to help him out with putting all of the toothpaste back into one of the delivery boxes after most of them have accidentally fell out of the box due to the three delivery boxes being very heavy to carry.
"What's up, Nel?" Sabrina greeted.
"Oh, hi, Brina." Nelson greeted.
"It looks like you have dropped those toothpaste on the ground," said Sabrina.
"I did, but it's not my fault, it's just these three delivery boxes are so heavy to carry myself," said Nelson.
"I can see that, and most of the time, it's really difficult for somebody to carry very heavy delivery boxes themselves." said Sabrina.
"Mmm-hmm, and now I have to put all of them back into this box after they all fell out of it by accident." said Nelson.
"But you'll need some help in doing all of that." replied Sabrina.
"Huh?" asked Nelson in surprise.
"Want some help? I can help you." said Sabrina.
"Actually, Brina, yes. Yes, I do need some help." said Nelson.
"I would do anything to help anybody when in need, especially my own best friends." said Sabrina.
"That's right, and I already know that Oscar, Ang, and I would do the same thing too. I really appreciate you deciding to help me out and thank you." said Nelson.
"No problem, homie. No problem. Now let's get all of this toothpaste back into the box as well as get all of these supplies too." said Sabrina.
"Right, and my co-workers and I really need all of these dental supplies to clean up each of the sperm whale customer's teeth," said Nelson.
"I know. Let's do it." said Sabrina.
Sabrina began helping Nelson with putting most of the toothpaste back into the box after it has fell out of it onto the ground due to the three delivery boxes being very heavy to carry, and while both Nelson and Sabrina work together to put all of the toothpaste back in the delivery box, Nelson began showing his gratitude towards Sabrina for deciding to help him out when he needed it just as he smiled at her, and then Nelson suddenly began staring at Sabrina with a very loving expression just as he quietly lovingly sighed and it quickly turns out that he has deep romantic feelings for her. Just like Angie is deeply in love with Oscar and she has always been in love with him, Nelson is deeply in love with Sabrina and he has always been in love with her, and he keeps his deep love for her a secret just like Angie keeps her deep love for Oscar a secret.
Then, both Nelson and Sabrina got finished with putting most of the toothpaste back into the delivery box after it has accidentally fell onto the ground due to the three delivery boxes being so heavy, and once they have put all of the toothpaste into the box, Nelson and Sabrina proceed to work together to carry the three heavy delivery boxes right to the Whale Wash dental squad while Nelson carries the box filled with toothpaste and Sabrina carries both the boxes of mouthwash and dental floss, and while they do so, Nelson continued staring at Sabrina with a very lovestruck expression since he has deep romantic feelings for her, and Sabrina began to notice Nelson staring at her which quickly caused him to snap out of his feelings of love for her just as he got a little embarrassed and blushed deeply a little as well as he attempted to cover up his feelings for Sabrina while she became filled with surprise.
"Nelson, were you staring at me?" asked Sabrina.
"What? No way." said Nelson.
"Are you sure? It almost looks like you were doing it." said Sabrina.
"No, I wasn't. I wasn't staring at you at all." said Nelson.
"Nel, if you were staring at me, then you must've wanna tell me something." said Sabrina.
"Huh?" asked Nelson.
"Well, maybe there's something you would like to tell me. What is it?" asked Sabrina.
"Actually, Brina, I don't have anything to say to you right now." replied Nelson.
"You don't?" asked Sabrina.
"Expect that I wanna tell you thanks for helping me with carrying all of these dental supplies back to the Whale Wash dental section and I appreciate it so much." said Nelson.
"Really? Well, alright, and I am very honored to help." said Sabrina.
"Oh, and here's something else I wanna tell you and it's you being such a beautiful golden girl with a heart of gold."
Sabrina gasped in surprise. "What?"
Nelson gasped in embarrassment just as he blushed deeply. "Oh…Um…Uh…It's…It's nothing! Nothing! Nothing at all!"
"Are you sure about that?" asked Sabrina.
"Yeah, I'm sure. I'm absolutely sure about it." said Nelson.
Sabrina became awkward. "Okay, Nel. If you say so. Now let's get these supplies to the Whale Wash dental section like you've planned on."
"Right. Let's do it." said Nelson.
Nelson and Sabrina continued to carry the three delivery boxes filled with dental supplies right towards the dental section and then they both arrive at the dental section where they begin putting all of the toothpaste, mouthwash, and dental floss into one of the dental supplies cabinets so they could use the toothpaste for the many toothpaste dispensers, the mouthwash for the many mouthwash hoses, and the dental floss for the many dental rollers. They both soon get finished with putting in one of the dental supplies cabinets, and Nelson continues to express his own gratitude towards Sabrina for helping him out with carrying the three heavy delivery boxes when he needed it just as he continued to hide his deep romantic feelings for her and deeply blushed at her with such deep affection for her.
"So, Sabrina, thanks for helping me carry these three boxes back to the dental section," said Nelson.
"You're welcome, homie, and I would do anything to help anybody out when they needed it." said Sabrina.
"I would do anything to help others too, and I would do the same thing for Oscar and Angie since we've been best friends forever." said Nelson.
"That's right and I would do that too, and it's very true that you, me, Oscar and Angie have been best friends with each other forever and always." said Sabrina. "I really need to get back to the receptionist office and continue working along with Ang."
"And I really need to continue my job of being the leader of the professional dental squad along with Wendell and Hayley and everybody else," said Nelson.
"See ya later, Nel." said Sabrina.
"Bye, Brina, and thanks for your help," said Nelson.
"No problem." said Sabrina.
Nelson and Sabrina both waved bye to each other, and Sabrina then leaves the Whale Wash dental section and quickly went back to the Whale Wash receptionist office where she continued answering to the many sperm whale customers on the headset as well as doing many paperwork and focusing on the sperm whale customers who have arrived at the Whale Wash to begin cleaning themselves up with the help of the many employees who work there while Angie continued answering the many customers of the telephone as well as doing the many paperwork and focusing on the paying sperm whale customers just as she warmly greeted Angie by giving her a thumbs up and they both smiled at each other just as they continued working together as the receptionist and the assistant receptionist.
Once Sabrina has helped him out with carrying the three heavy delivery boxes to the dental section and put all of the toothpaste, mouthwash, and dental floss in one of the dental supplies cabinets and went back to the receptionist office where she continued doing her own hard work as the assistant receptionist along with Angie who served as the receptionist, Nelson continued doing his own hard work as leader of the dental squad along with Wendell, Hayley, and the rest of his fellow co-workers and they all worked together to take good care of another sperm whale customer's teeth by dealing with his own cavities and they used some dental instruments, automatic drills, and some dental filling since it turns out that he has some cavities, and while they all do so, Nelson continue to think about his own deep romantic feelings for Sabrina and wishes that he could somehow win her heart which is just like how Angie has deep romantic feelings for Oscar and wishes that she could somehow win his heart.
Later on that day at the Whale Wash, it is the evening and it is now closing time, and everybody who works there such as the fish employees, the crab employees, the electric eel employees, the flounder employees, the jellyfish employees, the sea otter employees, and the sea turtle employees began leaving the Whale Wash and heading back to their own homes while each of the sperm whale customers got finished with having their own personal hygiene taken good care with the help of the many employees, and even Sykes and his two henchmen Ernie and Bernie began heading back to their own homes as just as Sykes closed the Whale Wash.
While everybody who works at the Whale Wash and the customers began heading back to their own homes and the sperm whale customers also head back to their own homes once it's now closing time at the Whale Wash, Angie, Nelson, and Sabrina proceed to head back to their own homes, but before they could do so, they began wondering where Oscar is actually at anyway since they haven't seen them at all for the rest of the day working at the Whale Wash, even when it's closing time, and they began searching for Oscar all over the Whale Wash so they could inform him that it's time to go back home since the Whale Wash is now closing for the evening.
"Okay, guys, it's now closing time for the Whale Wash and all of our hard work of cleaning the sperm whale customers is all finished for the rest of the day," said Nelson.
"True, but even though every employee is heading back to their own homes after work time at the Whale Wash is finished, one of them is missing," said Sabina.
"And that employee is known as Oscar," said Angie.
"You know, he has been missing for the rest of the day during work time," said Nelson.
"We didn't even see him at all and it's very strange to do that when it's still time for work," said Sabrina.
"Well, where could he be anyway?" said Nelson.
"Yeah, where is he?" said Sabrina.
"He must be around here somewhere," said Nelson.
"And we really gotta find him," said Sabrina.
"Don't worry, Nel and Brina, we'll search for Oscar, and when we
"Right." said Nelson and Sabrina.
"Let's search for him, guys, and I hope he's alright after he went missing for the rest of the day at the Whale Wash." said Angie.
"I do too," said Nelson.
"So do I." said Sabrina.
Angie, Nelson, and Sabrina continue to search for Oscar all over the Whale Wash since he hasn't been seen all day during work time and it's now closing time for the Whale Wash once the evening has came, and while they all continued to do so, they suddenly heard some very depressed groaning in a nearby storage warehouse that serves as the place where all of the cleaning supplies that are used by the many employees of the Whale Wash in order to clean up the many sperm whale employees, and they all suddenly became surprised upon hearing the sounds of depressed groaning and began wondering what it is just as they all quickly went inside of the Whale Wash storage warehouse to find out where the sounds of depressed groaning came from.
Inside of the Whale Wash storage warehouse, Angie, Nelson, and Sabrina quickly found that the depressing groaning came from none other than Oscar who is sitting on one of the boxes and looks very depressed which is because of after he had the meeting with Sykes from earlier which he has learned that is currently in debt with him and must pay him back with 5,000 clams since he hasn't paying off his dues lately which is mostly because of all the get-rich-quick schemes he has carried out lately, and once they have found Oscar, they swam up to him and he quickly notices just as they also notice that he is very depressed, much to their surprise and shock.
"There you are, Oscar." said Angie.
"We've been looking for you," said Nelson.
"And you've been missing for the rest of the day," said Sabrina.
"And it turns out you're right here in the storage warehouse of the Whale Wash." said Angie.
"This storage warehouse is the place to store all of the cleaning supplies, but it hasn't been used by the employees of the Whale Wash that much for so long," said Sabrina.
"That's 'cause they would usually leave their cleaning supplies right out at their own workplaces after they get finished with cleaning up the sperm whale customers." Nelson.
"The employees these days don't usually put their cleaning supplies in this kind of place like they usually do anymore, and this place is old. I mean, really old." said Angie.
"Hey, Oscar, what's the matter?" asked Sabrina.
"Yeah, is there something wrong?" asked Nelson.
"Oh, it's…it's nothing, y'all." said Oscar.
"You can tell us," said Angie.
"I already told you, it's just nothing, that's all." said Oscar.
"But we're your best friends, you can tell us anything." said Angie.
Oscar sadly sighed. "Look, I'll tell you everything when we go back home to the Seashell Plaza in Marilem."
"Alright. Please tell us everything that has happened." said Angie.
"I will." said Oscar.
Then, Oscar continued to feel very depressed on the box after having the meeting with Sykes in his own office from earlier just as his three childhood best friends Angie, Nelson, and Sabrina began feeling very bad for him, and Angie, Nelson, and Sabrina suddenly Oscar having a black eye and being very injured which has been caused by Sykes' two jellyfish henchmen Ernie and Bernie as a warning if he failed paying back Sykes with the 5,000 clams like he's supposed to since he's in debt with him and they became even more concerned about him just as they began to feel bad for him even more upon noticing his own injuries.
Later on that day during the evening, at one of the residential neighborhoods of Southside Reef which is known as Marilem where Oscar and his three best friends Angie, Nelson, and Sabrina as well as their many fellow co-workers and other neighbors all live at together, Sabrina has already bought some two boxes of glazed donuts and some four cups of coffee from a nearby Kelpy Kreme donut and coffee shop and Nelson has already bought some black eye treatment remedy from a nearby Flint Salmon's Pharmacy, and Nelson and Sabrina quickly meet up with each other just as they began traveling throughout Marilem for a moment and then arrive at one of the residential apartment building of Marilem which is known as the Seashell Plaza where they began traveling throughout the inside of the building and began heading right towards the apartment where Angie and Sabrina both live at together as roommates.
Just as they continue to travel throughout the building together, they all warmly greet some of the other citizens of Southside Reef who live in the Seashell Plaza apartment building such as them being their own co-workers at the Whale Wash such as Pontrelli, Dwight, and Quincy who are roommates, Knuckles, Vivian, and Tamik who are also roommates, Johnson, Wendell, and Gerald who are also roommates, Phoebe, Hayley, and Myrtle who are also roommates, both Nelson and Sabrina soon arrive at Angie and Sabrina's apartment where they travel throughout the main living room and went outside to the balcony where Angie is tending to Oscar's wounds by using some treatment spray and some paper towels to wipe them into his bruises, and Nelson and Sabrina arrive at the scene along with the boxes of donuts and cups of coffee that has been bought by Sabrina and the black eye treatment cream that has been bought by Nelson.
At the balcony of Angie and Sabrina's apartment, Angie, Nelson, and Sabrina began tending to Oscar's wounds and his blackeye just as Nelson began using some one the treatment cream on his blackeye in order to make it feel better and Sabrina also put one of the sea slugs from the garden of the balcony on his black eye to make it feel better too and Angie continued to use the treatment spray on Oscar to make him feel better from his own wounds, and Oscar, Angie, Nelson, and Sabrina began having some of the glazed donuts and some of the cups of iced latte from the Kelpy Kreme donut shop together. Oscar expressed his own gratitude of Angie, Nelson, and Sabrina helping him out with taking good care of his wounds just as they felt really bad for him so much, especially of how he didn't get that much respect from their own fellow co-workers of the Whale Wash due to being stuck of having a job as a tongue scrubber there.
Just as Angie, Nelson, and Sabrina worked together to tend to Oscar's wounds and his black eye and Oscar and his three best friends have the donuts and coffee together, Angie, Nelson, and Sabrina express their concern about Oscar about how he has been through lately at the Whale Wash due to not getting that much respect from others at all and scold him for being in debt with Sykes and Oscar began explaining to his three best friends about how he had the lifelong dream of becoming rich and famous in order to gain the respect that he yearns for due to what he has been through lately while Angie, Nelson, and Sabrina continued to feel very bad for him so much.
"Don't worry, Oscar, you will feel better in no time at all." said Nelson.
"You must've been through a lot today during work time," said Sabrina.
"Yeah, y'all, I've really had a rough day like I usually had ever since I began working at the Whale Wash with you guys." explained Oscar.
"We're really sorry that you had all of those rough days at the Whale Wash, homie." said Sabrina.
"It's really not fair that you had to go through with all of that during your time working at the Whale Wash." said Nelson.
"I know, and it's a downright shame too and it's mostly 'cause of the respect that I don't get as a tongue scrubber from the others, that's all." explained Oscar.
"Tell us about it." said Nelson.
"No kidding." said Sabrina.
"So, Oscar, let us get this straight, you exactly owe Mr. Sykes 5,000 clams? Are you serious about that?" asked Angie in disbelief. "You have to pay him back with 5,000 clams due to not paying your own dues according to your many IOUs?!"
"Actually…yes. Yes, I do owe him 5,000 clams, and I have to pay him back by tomorrow." said Oscar.
"In that case, you must've have some payment left in order to pay what you exactly owe Mr. Sykes, Oscar." said Angie. "You must have some money left so you could get out of debt with Sykes in no time at all."
"Oh, I have some money leftover, and it's actually…uh…um…no, I don't have any money and I'm broke right now." said Oscar just as he frowned. "I am completely broke and I just used all of the money that I've earned for the things I needed for myself and the apartment Nel and I live in together."
"Oscar, that's so unbelievable to not noticing that you have to pay off your dues like you're supposed to." said Sabrina.
"You could've at least try to save most of the money that you've received in order to pay off your IOUS to Mr. Sykes." said Nelson.
"I would, but I was so busy on doing the other things I needed to do for myself, Nel, and our own home, and I didn't get the chance to notice that I've been landed in debt." said Oscar.
"I guess you're just gonna have to wait to get paid on the next pay day at the Whale Wash where the many employees will get paid for all of their hard work." replied Angie.
"True, but that's until some other time and pay day has been like two weeks ago," said Oscar.
"Since you have gone completely broke, there is no way you are able to cough up 5,000 clams within 24 hours anyway." said Angie.
"Who could get all of that kind of money within just one day and it's very impossible, especially in a situation with Mr. Sykes that you're in right now." said Sabrina.
"Also, we know that the whole reason why you're in debt with Mr. Sykes is 'cause of all of those get-rich-quick schemes you've pulled off lately." replied Nelson.
"No wonder you end up in all of these situations, even when you end up in debt with our boss and need to pay off your debt," said Angie. "Oscar, why do you always get yourself into these kinds of situations?"
"I honestly don't know, guys. I guess it's 'cause of how I don't get that much respect from the others at the Whale Wash, and it's very hard too." said Oscar. "It's just like life is very hard since everybody is different and they would react differently towards others in some kind of way, and I'm just a little fish who lives in a really big body of water known as the Atlantic Ocean."
"We can see that nobody hasn't shown you that much respect, but they still treat you very kindly and they praise you for all of the hard work that you've done lately." replied Angie.
"True, but they still don't show me that much respect, and since I'm being disrespected as a tongue scrubber, I'm nothing but a nobody." said Oscar.
"You being a nobody? That can't be true at all." said Sabrina.
"Actually, it is true, guys. It's very true, and I've always been a nobody ever since I was a little kid." said Oscar.
"But you being some kind of nobody couldn't be possible." said Nelson.
"It is possible and I've considered myself to be something like that. I've always had." said Oscar.
"Why do you consider yourself that? You didn't have to." said Angie.
"I did have to 'cause of how nobody showed me that much respect even though they are kind to me, and since I'm a total nobody, I have underachievements as well." said Oscar. "Even when it comes to pulling off all of those get-rich-quick schemes and I had a good reason to do it 'cause I could finally get some of that." He pointed up at something.
"You did all of those get-rich-quick schemes to get Mrs. Sanchez, one of our neighborhoods in Marilem?" asked Angie in surprise.
"What?" asked Oscar.
"You're talking about somehow going out with Mrs. Sanchez by becoming so rich, are you?" asked Nelson.
"And if you are thinking about going on a date with her, then there's no way she's your type, especially that she's way older than you are." said Sabrina.
"Huh?" asked Oscar. He quickly noticed Mrs. Sanchez at another apartment building spraying her armpits in the bathroom. "Ewwwww! No! I'm not talking about having some kind of romantic relationship with somebody like Mrs. Sanchez by becoming so rich and she's not really my type anyway! Ugh!" Oscar pointed up at a really tall building that was way up at Southside Reef. "I'm talking about that. That place is known as the Top Of Southside Reef, and it serves as the home to those who are somebodies just like the other top areas of the Atlantic Ocean for living such a life of luxury such as the Top Of Northside Reef, the Top Of Eastside Reef, the Top Of Westside Reef, and the Top Of Central Reef, y'all."
"Yeah, what's so great about the Top Of Southside Reef anyway?" asked Sabrina.
"And what makes that luxurious home a perfect place for somebodies to live?" asked Nelson.
"'Cause they're so rich and famous which makes them noticed and respected by others, that's what." said Oscar. "And somebody who is rich and famous will get all the respect that they need from everybody else, including the ones who live right here at the Bottom Of Southside Reef as well as the other bottom places of the other reefs in the Atlantic Ocean."
"But are you sure that living at the Top Of Southside Reef actually makes you a somebody by being so rich and famous, Oscar?" asked Angie in disbelief.
"Yes, and it's what I've always dreamed about ever since I was young, guys." explained Oscar. "You see, I really wanna be rich and famous just like those guys who live at the Top Of Southside Reef, and it's the only way I'll ever get the respect that I yearn for so much."
"Well, we honestly think that you really don't need to live all the way up there in order to become a somebody so you could get respect from others and be noticed," said Sabrina.
"Living in a place like that can't be really worth being a somebody and it just serves as a home for anybody just like any home in this reef." said Nelson.
"Yeah, but it's not an ordinary home, and living all the way up there is the only way I'll ever become a somebody and I'm gonna make it happen somehow." said Oscar. "But I'm stuck living down here in the Marilem neighborhood and I'm stuck having a job at the Whale Wash."
"What's wrong with living down here? Even though everybody at the Whale Wash doesn't show you that much respect, they are still very kind to you, Oscar." said Angie. "Actually, everybody does love you at the Whale Wash and it's mostly because of how they praise all of the hard work you have done so far as a tongue scrubber."
"Who knows? Maybe one of these days, for all of your hard work that you've done at the Whale Wash, you'll be able to get a promotion somehow." said Sabrina.
"The promotion you'll receive someday could be something very special and it's for one of the most hard working employees at the Whale Wash ever," said Nelson.
"All of that is very true, but I honestly still think that becoming rich and famous is the only way of becoming a somebody." said Oscar. "I really have to live at the Top Of Southside Reef to make my lifelong dream come true so I could finally be noticed and respected by others, and honestly, even though our co-workers at the Whale Wash are kind to me and praise me for all of the hard work I've done so far, it's just…it's just that having a life down here at the bottom of his reef have some serious problems."
"If that's so, then you could at least tell us what's actually wrong with living down here at the Bottom Of Southside Reef." said Angie. "What made you think that living right down here has some serious problems anyway?"
"That's what we would like to know," said Sabrina.
"And we've been wondering about it." said Nelson.
"I'll tell you guys what's wrong with living down here and why I think living here is nothing but a huge problem, and I'll give you a good reason why." said Oscar. "It's 'cause of what I first dealt with when we used to attend Pisces Elementary School during childhood together, and do you guys remember my dad Earl?"
"Yes." said Angie.
"Mmm-hmm." said Nelson.
"Uh-huh." said Sabrina.
"You all know that my dad has always worked at the Whale Wash for his whole life." replied Oscar. "Ever since we used to be kids and grew up together while my mom used to serve as a housewife and took good care of the house with my and Dad's help sometimes…and that was way before he sadly died from an old age. I'll tell you everything about how I don't enjoy being stuck living at the bottom being a nobody that has the least respect and would rather live at the top so I could finally be a somebody with much more respect."
Oscar proceeds to explain everything to Angie, Nelson, and Sabrina about his main motivation to become rich and famous so he could finally be a somebody and be respected by others since he hasn't get that much respect by others at the Whale Wash even though they all praise him for being such a hard working employee, it turns out that Oscar has deep insecurities about being a nobody since he hasn't get that much respect at all even though he has been receiving some kindness from others which is mostly due to what he has been through working the Whale Wash and even during his own childhood, and Angie, Nelson, and Sabrina really felt for Oscar so much and how he is deeply insecure about being a nobody for all he has been through for so long.
