This is the shortest chapter yet. My inspiration for this story is running thin, but I'm starting to figure out where I want it to go. Pray for me to figure this out lol

"Hello, Minnie. Two muffins please," said Rosemary. She'd stopped at the cafe the next morning to pick up a small breakfast for her and Lee, who were very busy working on their article on Lucas.

In preparation for the trial, Rosemary was going to release an article stating her belief in Lucas's innocence. In fact, she was so determined to help him that she even accepted Randall Rockwell's request for an interview with her.

She took her muffins and walked out of the cafe. As she was walking down the street, Bill called for her. "Morning, Bill." She had been dreading this conversation ever since she and Lee had decided to drop the charges.

"Rosemar–"

"I know what you're going to tell me."

"Your husband already got an earful. So what I'm going to say to you is strictly as a friend. Rosemary, I trust your judgment, but make sure it isn't clouded by emotion. Please. I don't want you to have regrets."

"Bill, trust me, the choice was only made after lots of thinking."

"I do trust you, Rosemary. So though I'm still incredibly suspicious of Lucas, I will try to see things your way."

"Thank you, Bill."

After Lucas finally managed to find a lawyer who would represent him, Lucas was extremely busy. In addition to all the trial stuff, he still had a territory to run. He was really trying to remember if there were any times that Edwin seemed to have any ulterior motives.

Lucas thought about how invested Edwin was in the resort project, especially in the financial aspect. To him, it was all about the money. So the real question was, who could bribe him, and when?
