Chapter 4: Moon Base

A few days went by up in Space, Chase watched the astronauts as they did their jobs aboard the space craft. Chase learned a lot by watching and helping them. Then Chase and the other astronauts approached the moon. The all strapped them in for the landing on the moon. They got their space suits on and stepped out on to the moon. Chase first saw a small building on the moon, more was being constructed. They all stepped though an air lock and into the building. Inside they were greeted by other astronauts. They all started unloading the supplies on the rocket, all except Chase, he needed his four paws to walk

Chase decided to explore the moon base a bit. He walked down the hallways and looked in deferent rooms. On room had plants and lots of air ducks, another had beds for the astronauts to sleep. Chase also found a dining room and a game room. Chase was really fascinated with the control room, it had so many different gadgets and other equipment.

"Hello, are you a new recruit, I've never seen you here before," asked on of the many astronauts.

Chase turned to see a young, golden Labrador retriever.

"well I you could say that, my name is Chase, it's my first time in space, I'm with the supply crew, so I won't stay here for long," Chase said.

"My name is star, I've been here for about 6 months now, I'm an astronomer, and I'm here to study space. NASA though I could study space better from the moon, so they sent me up here. I have enjoyed it up here, but I would like to see my home again, maybe I'll get to visit earth again soon," Star said.

"Where are from," Chase asked.

"Adventure city Georgia, I my owner was an astronaut, that is why I went into astronomy, my owner was such a good guy, he died in a rocket failure 4 years ago,"

"Oh my, I'm so sorry," Chase said.

"Where are you from," Star asked.

"Funny, thing, I'm actually from Adventure Bay, Georgia, just an hour away from Adventure City," Chase said.

"Oh, wait, are you one of the PAW Patrol members."

"Yes, actually, I'm the police pup of Adventure Bay."

"Oh, my goodness, I'm sorry, I'm a big fan of the PAW Patrol, I can't believe I'm talking to Chase of the PAW Patrol, and I didn't even realize it, I'm sorry, I'm sorry." Star said as he began to get so excited.

"It's okay, you not the first fan to get this exited."

"whoa, is that your original pup tag," Star asked just now noticing Chase's signature star on his tag.

"it sure is, and my original pup pack with megaphone, net, and zip line all still working." Chase said with pride that he still has his first pup pack still after 15 years of use.

"Whoa, so cool," Star said with amazement.

"here, watch this, Ruff net," Chase barked as he shot his net over star.

"Whoa, nice, is this same net you've used to catch Mayor Humdinger and his cats with."

"Yup, and this is my megaphone a always use to try to wake the other pups up, it never works though, then," Chase said but was cut off by star's exited voice.

"Then Skye comes along with the spoon and bowl trick and wakes them up, hehe, sorry, I realy like the PAW Patrol." Star said.

"Now that is a true fan, someone who knows everything about something that they are a fan of." Chase said.

Chase and Star were having a lot of fun getting to know each other when John came around the corner.

"Chase, we are getting ready to launch our rocket back home, we'll be leaving in 15 minutes, I just wanted to let you know," John said.

"Okay, thanks john, well I'd better get going, it was nice talking with you star."

"it was so fun talking with you to, Chase, but hay, when I get the chance to go back home, I'll stop by Adventure Bay and see the PAW Patrol tower, if that's okay," Star asked.

"Sure, just ask Ryder if I'm home or I'll answer the door, but I would love to show you our home," Chase said.

"bye Chase, I hope I can come and see you soon," Star said.

"Bye star, have fun with you job," Chase said.

Chase walked back with John to the space shuttle. Chase strapped in to his seat as John and the other astronauts started the launch process. After the shuttle had successfully lifted of the moon, Chase decided to call his friends over his pup tag, to his surprise his tag connected with his friends all the way from the moon.

"Hello, who is this," Ryder asked.

"Hello Ryder, it's Chase, I just wanted to see how you guys are doing." Chase said.

"Hello Chase, we're all doing just fine, I've had to take Rocky's job of fixing the power grid several times a week, I can see why you complained about it." Ryder said.

"Now you see it, ha, ha, well we just left the moon base and are on our way back home, so I'll see you all in three days."

"great were all exited to have you back, we can't wait for you to come home, we miss you," Ryder said.

"I miss you too, I'll be back soon, bye guys," Chase said.

"Bye Chase, see you soon," Ryder said.

After Chase hung up, he looked out the rocket window and looked into space. He had had a lot of fun, but he did miss home. He went to sleep that night and dreamed of home, and the hope of being there soon.

Well, that is one small step for Chase, and one gient leap for the PAW Patrol, and don't worry, star will return, come back next week for more on PAW Patrol: Mission PAWs on Mars.
