Last time, the children managed to find the treasure only to have the Dark Masters follow them. They fought bravely with Olegmon fighting along side them and trying to protect the kids. As MetalSeadramon fought against the kids, Puppetmon managed to steal the most valuable treasure. It turned out to be another stone, but it had the crest of friendship on it. During the battle, something came over Gatomon. When she awoke, she informs them that she now knows what they have to do.

Since their adventure with Olegmon and his crew are over, the children continued on with their mission to rescue their parents from the Dark Masters. During their time in hyperspace, Gatomon informed them of some interesting information with the others.

"Someone was speaking to you in your dream?" Musuko questioned.

"That's right. I don't know who or what it was, but they told me some information that revealed what the Dark Masters are really after."

"So what are they after?" Mason questioned.

"It all started years ago, when your parents were mere children." Gatomon said. "You all know of Gennai, their guide. Well, he and others built the digivices and the crests. When they were building it all, they used the power of four greatly powerful digimon. With their power, they created magical stones that were meant to give your parents power."

"I don't remember hearing about this." Benson said.

"There's a reason for that." Gatomon said. "The stones produced too much power. It would be too much for any human or digimon to handle. Those made them thought it was too dangerous for anyone to hold on to them. So what they did instead was take a small fragment of each of the stone crests and used that to help make the physical crests that your parents used."

"The crests were used to help make the digimon stronger." Natalie said.

"How many were there?" Patamon asked.

"One for each crest, so there's eight in total." Gatomon said. "The ones we already saw were the ones of hope and friendship."

"What happened to these stone crests?" Musuko questioned.

"After the actual crests were made, they were scattered across the Digital World in hopes that they never fall into the wrong hands." Gatomon said.

"I bet that's why the Dark Masters took our parents." Benson said. "They're somehow using them to find these stone crests."

"That would explain what they're after." Natalie said.

"But that can't happen. If they get their hands on all eight stone crests, they could become invincible." Gatomon said.

"We can't let that happen. We've got to figure out how to stop them." Musuko said.

"We still have to save Mom and everyone else." Koji said.

"Maybe finding the stone crests can help with that." Benson said. "Thanks to Oikawa, CannonBeemon seems to be somehow able to take us to where the stone crests might be. We'll just have to find them before the Dark Masters do." They now have two missions. They have to rescue their parents and prevent the Dark Masters from finding the eight stone crests.

The Digital World

Meanwhile, the adventure seems to be taking them into a forest with a village found near the base of a mountain. It was a simple and peaceful village. Inside the village, one digimon named Lilamon was with many young digimon.

"Okay, class. That's all for today. Now go out and have fun." Lilamon said. All the young and happy digimon did just that as they hurried off to enjoy themselves. Once the young digimon left, a digimon named Deramon came into the building.

"It looks like things have gone well in here." Deramon said.

"They are sweet little things, but they can be a handful sometimes." Lilamon claimed. "Anyway, I think tomorrow..." Suddenly, the ground shook. "What was that?"

"I'm not sure." Deramon said. "I don't think it was anything serious." He claimed, but then the ground to shake more and more in a consistent pattern. It was as if something big was getting close to them. Just then, the wall burst as a giant metal claw came through and grabbed Lilamon. She screamed like the damsel in distress she is as she came face with Machinedramon.

"You're coming with me." Machinedramon said as he took her away and razed the village. Not that long after, the children arrived as CannonBeemon emerged out of hyperspace.

"Where in the Digital World are we now?" Natalie questioned.

"Hold on. What's going on down there?" Mason questioned as he could see trails of smoke. They took a closer look and saw the village was wrecked.

"We better get down there!" Musuko said as they knew this wasn't good. All of them got out of CannonBeemon and hurried to the village to see the awful damage that was done.

"What could have happened here?" Biyomon questioned.

"Over there!" Veemon said as he spotted Machinedramon heading for the mountain.

"It's Machinedramon! Let's get him!" Musuko said as he was ready for action.

"Help me!" All of them looked and saw Deramon trapped under a piece of wood. They had to let Machinedramon go as they hurried to help him. All of them worked together to lift the lumber as Palmon grabbed Deramon and pulled him out.

"Are you hurt?" Benson asked.

"No. I'm fine thanks to you kind children." Deramon said. "I just wish I could say the same for poor Lilamon."

"Who?" Natalie questioned.

"Lilamon is who that giant metal behemoth just kidnapped right when it started wrecking the village." Deramon claimed. "The poor dear is in serious need of help."

"The giant metal behemoth has to be Machinedramon. We just saw him leave here." Veemon said.

"Those rotten Dark Masters. They leave destruction and pain everywhere they go." Mason said. "We've got to do something."

"But why would Machinedramon kidnap this Lilamon to begin with?" Benson questioned.

"Is there some sort of great treasure around here or something?" Natalie asked. "Something that holds great power that could be sealed away?" Now that they know what they're suppose to be looking for, the stone crests, they need to know how to find them.

"A great treasure...? Oh yes!" Deramon said as he knows what they might be talking about. "All the way up there." They all looked up as Deramon pointed to the nearby mountain. "They say that a great treasure lies in the summit of that mountain. It was locked away a long time ago."

"The stone crest!" Musuko said as he realized that treasure has to be the very same stone crest that they're looking for.

"But what does Lilamon have to do with it?" Koji questioned.

"Well, Lilamon actually holds a power that might be needed to unlock the treasure up there." Deramon said. "I do know she plays some sort of key role into obtaining that power. She's like a guardian and it's her responsibility to keep that treasure safe."

"That's it! Machinedramon must have taken Lilamon because he needs her to get the stone crest that's locked away up there." Benson said.

"So, we have to get Lilamon back before Machinedramon makes it to the top of the mountain!" Patamon said. Now that they know what to do this time, the kids can take action and try to get head of the Dark Masters.

...

Machinedramon

"Unhand me! Let me go! Release me at once!" Lilamon insisted as Machinedramon carried her as he made his way up to the mountain.

"I wouldn't worry right now if I were you." Machinedramon claimed. "I have some need for you, so I'll destroy you after I no longer need you."

"At least you're honest." Lilamon claimed. "What exactly do you want from me?"

"There's a treasure up this mountain." Machinedramon claimed. "I heard that in order to get that treasure, you are needed." Lilamon instantly realized what he was talking about and knew she couldn't allow the likes of him get it. She kept trying to get out of his claw, but it was a firm hold and she couldn't slip out.

"Listen to me. You are making a mistake. That treasure was sealed away in the mountain for a reason." Lilamon said.

"It holds a lot of power, and I want that power." Machinedramon said.

"There he is!" Machinedramon turned around and looked up to the sky and could see all five of the children and their digimon in their strongest forms making their way to them by flying through the sky.

"I should have known you kids would be here eventually." Machinedramon said. "Time to get rid of you once and for all." he took aim with his cannons and opened fired with them. All of them did their best to avoid the blasts fired at them. Lilamon certainly didn't like this at all.

"There are human children on there, you brute!" Lilamon said as she tried even harder to get out of there.

"I see, Lilamon!" Benson said.

"Give me an opening so that I can get close to Lilamon!" UlforceVeedramon said. All the other four digimon opened fired with their attacks while Machinedramon fired away at them. "Angewomon, hold Musuko while I get Lilamon!" He passed him over to Angewomon and tried to fly through all the attacks. When UlforveVeedramon was close enough, he extended his sword and jammed it into Machinedramon's claw and was able to cause a malfunction. Machinedramon's claw opened it up and freed Lilamon. UlforceVeedramon swooped in and got Lilamon out of there.

"He's got her! Let's go!" Mason called as all of them retreated.

"You think you can escape from me?!" Machinedramon called. "I was built for absolute destruction! I'll destroy this whole mountain if I have to for me to get that stone crest!" They might have managed to save Lilamon, but Machinedramon isn't done with them just yet.

...

The Digidestined

After rescuing Lilamon, the kids knew it wasn't safe to take Lilamon back to the village. That's why they flew down to another part of the forest far enough away from Machinedramon. Once they were safe, they all landed down and saw the coast was clear.

"Are you okay?" Natalie asked.

"Yes, thanks to all of you. However, what you all did was incredibly dangerous." Lilamon claimed. "Where are your parents? They shouldn't have allowed you all to do something like that."

"Right now, they're being held by the same group of bad guys that just kidnapped you." Musuko claimed.

"Excuse me?" Lilamon questioned.

"Let's start from the beginning." Benson said. That was when they took the time to explain their situation to Lilamon.

"Oh my... That all sounds awful." Lilamon said. After being told what happened, she felt a great deal of sympathy for all of them. "You poor things. I can't believe those Dark Masters kidnapped your parents."

"Thank you, but we're working on saving them." Natalie said.

"That's what brings us to right now." Benson said. "Lilamon, the reason Machinedramon took you is because of what their after. You might be the key to obtaining it."

"We were told you're a guardian of some sort of treasure up on the mountain." Koji said.

"Yes. It's true. I've been entrusted to guard over what is locked at the top of the mountain." Lilamon admitted. "I know all about it, to ensure that it never falls into the wrong hands."

"Lilamon, you have to take us to where it is." Musuko said.

"Excuse me?" Lilamon questioned. "I can't. It's my responsibility to keep it safe and that it never be free. The power of the treasure in the wrong hands could bring great chaos."

"We know, Lilamon, but that's why we're here." Musuko said. "The Dark Masters are going to do what they can to get that treasure, especially if it really is one of the stone crests. We need to get it first. We're asking you for your help. Getting that stone might be the only way for us to get our parents back." Musuko is right. Getting the stone might be the only way to get their parents back, but they can't get to the stone without Lilamon, and Lilamon is suppose to make sure it stays sealed. Will she actually help?

...

In the next part, the kids make their way up the mountain. However, Machinedramon will not allow them to escape so easily.
