Two days had passed since the Guard and Azaad had gotten out of the backlands and were now in a snowy mountain area. Makini had remembered going around the mountain but considering the nature of the venom in Kion's scar they had decided to climb over it.

"Ugh we should have gone around the mountain." Fuli growled.

"No, this way should be faster." Kion reassured her. However even Kion was doubting his decision to go over the mountain instead of around it as the pads on the bottom of his feet felt like they were getting stabbed every time he took a step due to the cold snow. Kion grunted with each step he took.

"Kion? Are you ok?" Makini asked the lion concerningly.

"I'm fine. Let's just keep going." Kion growled as Makini jumped back from his sudden outburst

"Kion, you need to Tuliza." Fuli said motioning to Makini who took some Tuliza out of her goard.

"Here Kion." Makini said holding out some Tuliza blossoms in her hand for Kion to eat.

"Thank you. Sorry Makini i didn't mean to growl at you." Kion said with sincerity.

"Don't worry about it Kion, it's the venom in your scar not you." Makini reassured Kion.

"Alright let's keep going" Kion said. However as the group climbed about 30 more paw steps they heard so monkeys screeching.

"Ahh, big bird!" An adult female monkey screeched.

As the group got higher Kion came up first.

"A lion too!" The female monkey said. Kion then saw two children and an adult female and adult male, the two kids and the female were hiding behind the male. Then Fuli and Azaad came up behind Kion.

"Two cheetahs! Ahh!" The monkeys screamed. Then Bunga came up behind the cheetahs.

"Don't worry they won't hurt you." Bunga said reassuringly.

"Are you sure?" A female monkey asked.

"Positive." Ono squawked as he came up on Beshte's back.

The two children that had been hiding behind the female then came out and waved to the group. Kion, Fuli, Azaad, and Beshte all smiled back at the children wile Bunga and Ono waved, Anga just kept flying.

"Even the eagle?" The female monkey asked the group.

"Even the Eagle." Beshte said with a smile still on his face.

Suddenly the monkey's got pushed back into the spring that they had just came out of. This made the Guard confused but the monkey's just looked scared.

"What was that?" Kion asked.

"The Ghost of the Mountain." The male monkey said while shuttering from fear.

"Ghost?" Fuli asked.

"Mhm." The female monkey responded. "It come after us constantly but we have never seen it or even heard it coming. So we figured it's the spirit of some predator that died near the springs."

"well if it can touch you then we can touch it-" Kion started before feeling something sharp on his side. Kion went to hit it with his paw but only hit air. "what the"

Them Fuli and Azaad felt the same thing but Azaad aslo felt his back left leg get bit as he fell from the leg injury. Then Beshte bellowe4d out in pain as he suffered similar injuries to Azaad but he didn't fall. Bunga was next as he got bit and thrown into Fuli. Then Makini screamed as she got slashed in the stomach. Kion pounced to where he thought their attacker was but only landed on snow.

"Anga! See anything?" Kion roared.

"Nothing" Anga squawked. "Wait paw prints!"

Then Kion looked down as he saw paw prints coming straight for him. Kion then smacked his paw at where the head of his attacker would be and actually hit it this time. They all heard the animal snarl from the pain then saw the paw prints running away.

"I think we're safe now. Is everyone ok?" Kion asked.

Everyone nodded as Makini looked over everyone's injuries. Azaad's seemed to be worst of them.

"Guy's we should keep going." Kion said.

"But what about the monkeys?" Makini asked.

"What about them?" Kion retorted.

"what is the 'Ghost' comes back?" Fuli added.

"They can handle themselves. Let's go" Kion roared as he started walking up the mountain. About 30 paw steps up Kion had an idea to use the roar to try to blast a hole in the mountain.

"What if he go through the mountain instead of over? Everyone get behind me!" Kion ordered the group.

"He's gonna use the roar?" beshte muttered.

"Kion, i dont think this is a good idea." Fuli said calmly trying to convince her leader not to use the roar.

"Move Fuli." Kion growled.

"Kion I-" Fuli started until Kion interupted her.

"Fuli I'm the leader of the guard. Now get behind me." Kion growled more.

"Ugh!" Fuli snarled as she walked back over to the rest of the group.

Kion then used the roar on the mountain, but instead of white clouds appearing in the sky they were gray and looked like storm clouds rather than a normal cloud. When Kion stopped it seemed as if they could still hear it.

"wow. Kions roar was so big that I think i can still hear it." Bunga said in amazement.

"I think i still can little-B" Beshte said confused.

"Oh no!" Anga squawked "Snow, falling, fast."

"what?" the rest of the group asked.

"AVALANCHE!" Anga squawked.

"Hapana! Everybody run!" Ono squawked.

"GO!" Kion roared.

"Kion, the monkeys!" Fuli roared back.

"Hevi kabisa!" Kion roared. "Save the monkeys!"

The monkeys were relaxing in their hot spring when they heard the avalanche and jumped out of it running. The snow almost caught up to the mama monkey but kion pushed her out of the. The second monkey to almost get caught was one of the children but Fuli and Azaad raced to the child saving her. Then was the other child but Bunga picked the monkey up just in time and started riding down the snow where the avalanche hadn't been like a slide. The fourth and final monkey the snow caught up to as the adult male, Beshte had gotten in between the monkey and the falling snow and used his immense strength to stop the snow from hitting the monkey but go covered in snow in the process.

"Is everyone alright?" Kion roared.

"mhm"

"Yep"

"Affirmative"

"Okay all the monkeys are here except one, and beshte. Beshte, Monkey." Kion roared looking for them.

"twende kiboku" Beshte said as him and the monkey shook all of the snow off themselves.

Kion then looked at the family of monkeys and said sincerely. "I'm sorry."

"You don't have to be sorry you didn't cause the avalanche" One of the children said

"Yea it was those lion's in the sky, they roared super loud." The other child added.

Kion just looked down in shame as he said "That was me who roared, I'm sorry"

"Apology accepted" the first child said.

"Anga can you find them a new home?" Kion asked before feeling sharp claws into his side as got pushed off the side of the mountain and fell nearly 60 paw steps before gaining traction again.

There he could now see his foe. A female snow leopard who looked to be a little big smaller than Fuli.

"So you're the Ghost of the Mountain huh." Kion said starting to circle against the Leopard.

"That's right." The leopard said. "Names Chuluun"

"why are you attacking the monkeys?" Kion asked.

"Because they hog the springs, I've lived here longer then them and they just took the springs for themselves." Chuluun growled.

"Have you asked them to share the springs?" Kion asked.

"Share?" Chuluun laughed. "Why should i have to share, i deserve those springs. And so do you Lion"

"Yessss, Kion. You dessserve thossse ssspringsss. You can take whatever you want." Ushari hissed.

Just then Chuluun lunged forward and bit Kion's back. The lion roared out in pain then turned his head to bite the leopards leg. As he did so Chuluun let go of his back and Kion threw her a few paw steps away. Chuluun could see the feral look in Kion's eyes as he growled and bare his fangs at the leopard. For some reason this scared Chuluun. However despite her fear she lunged toward Kion which proved to be a disastrous mistake. Despite Kion's massive frame he swiftly moved to the side of Chuluun with speed that would impress even Fuli and bit Chuluun in the back making the small leopard whine from the pain, Kion then threw her away from him and off of the mountain.

"Kion!" Fuli roared. "Are you ok?"

"Yeah, im fine" Kion said. "Monkeys, you won't have to be worrying about the Ghost of the Mountain anymore."

When the Snow monkey family heard this they were so happy, until they remembered that their home had been buried with snow.

"Anag, can you find a spring on the mountain for them to live at now?" Kion asked.

"yep, Anga-linga" Anga answered as she flew up and started searching for a new spring for the monkeys.

"Without any trees near it!" The father of the family screached.

"I though snow monkeys liked trees?" Ono said curiously.

"Not us, they can be home to, to, to large birds" The mother said with fear in her voice.

The other three monkey vigorously nodded at the statement.

"Hmm..." Anga said using her keen sight to look for a spring on the mountain that isn't near any trees. "Ah, found it."

As Anga flew back down she motioned to the Guard and the Monkey family to follow her. After about 10 minutes they finally got to a spring at the base of the mountain, it had root bushes right next to the spring so that they didn't have to leave to spring to collect food.

"T-thank you, uh" The mother said.

"Anga" Anga finished.

"Thank you Anga" The two kids said in sync as they ran up to Anga and hugged her, much to the large birds dismay.

Meanwhile back at the Canyon Chuluun got thrown off.

Chuluun had just landed at the bottom of the canyon. "Gah, I'll have my revenge Kion" Chuluun growled.

"You'll need help if you plan to do that, doing so alone would be a death wish" A deep voice proclaimed.

"Who are you?" Chuluun shook when she saw who spoke. "Your-"

"Yes..." The voice started.
