DODODODODO HERE COMES A CHAPTER! And with it, even more questions!

Night quietly flew over the lights of the town beneath him, the night sky practically making him invisible.

Jasper who was also flying next to him wasn't as invisible, but it was past midnight so nobody should be out and able to see them.

He flapped his wings to gain altitude to go above the incoming trees, but not to high so he could avoid any homeland protection radar.

His mind wandered to yesterday, remembering how this all happened, looking over at Jasper and spotting his new red glowing power core.

Flashback

Night quickly dove under Jasper who dove at him, dodging the large bulky dragon. He quickly jumped back up and spun around, throwing one of his front tallons down on the ground stomping on Jasper's tail, making him yelp in pain.

He took the opportunity and jumped up on the brown dragon onto his back, grabbing him by the horns and trying to get him into a headlock.

Jasper jerked his head forward, throwing Night off his head onto the ground. Night slowly got up in a daze, shaking his head.

Jasper went to go on the offensive but stopped when he spotted Shade walking up to them.

"Night, good to see you're still in one peace," Shade snickered at the now dust-covered dragon.

"Ya, ya, what is it?" Night said sarcastically, swiping the dust off him with his tail.

"The weapons department finally got back with us, said they finished all of our orders," Shade answered.

Night smiled, "Nice, can you go and get Viper, you are all going to like this."

Shade nodded and flew off towards the hangar.

Night turned back around to look at Jasper, "Hey, while we are still alone, how badly do you want to see your wife?"

Jasper's eyes widened at the question, "More than anything, she deserves to know that I still live!"

Night nodded, "And I completely agree with you, I know if I had a wife, I would have done everything I could do to tell her."

"So why did you ask?" Jasper asked, now curious.

"You willing to break a couple rules to tell her?" Night asked looking around to make sure nobody was listening in on him. Which now that he was thinking of it, there was probably no way to tell what they were saying since they were speaking dragon.

"Night..." Jasper muttered worried.

"It's fine, I studied the radars in the area to know if we could get there without being caught or not, it's possible to fly most of the way there undetected," Night tried to comfort him.

"But what if we get caught?" Jasper asked still worried.

Night snorted in amusement, "We are a bit... big to get court marshaled aren't we?"

Jasper shook his head, not as amused as Night, "So how are we going to do it?"

Night spotted Shade in the corner of his eyes, "I'll tell you later."

Shade and Viper landed in front of them, kicking up dust from the sandy grounds they lived on.

"So what is it that you wanted us for?" Viper asked while stretching from his noon nap. They learned pretty early on that whatever Viper was, enjoyed the sun.

Night walked to the offices near the gate, "Our orders came in for the armor and weapons,"

"Oh, that is a good reason to wake me up..." Viper said now more awake.

Night nodded, opening the door to the office and walking in with the others following him, "I added on a few things to the order for everyone," he said while walking up to the large packages with bright bold letters that said "Top-secret".

"Dang, how much more stuff did you order?" Shade said, noticing there were more boxes than stuff he knew were already ordered.

"Well, besides our natural weapons, I decided we all should have at least some kind of ballistic weapon, so I made a few special orders that tailored to all of us and what we will be doing," Night explained.

"We haven't really discussed that yet..." Jasper spoke out loud.

Night nodded his head, "Jasper, I decided you will be the "Heavy", I have ordered you the most armored power armor they could make, along with a custom thirty-millimeter autocannon, since I am more of a multi-purpose dragon, you will be with me most of the time and act as the armor."

Jasper nodded his head, understanding.

"Viper, you are stealth-recon and assassination, you will probably be paired with shade quite often, you are the only one I didn't get weapons for since it wouldn't work with your scales, also sorry again, but they couldn't find a way yet to make armor that matched your scale color changing ability," Night told the now orange dragon.

"Shade, I figure it would be obvious with your past, your recon and sniper, you already know what your weapon is but I also ordered you a twenty-millimeter pistol, but your armor is probably the most interesting out of all of ours, out of all of us, you produce the most body heat, actually enough for sidewinders to pick you up, so they made some self-cooling armor to fix the issue," Night finished explaining.

"What about you Night, did you get anything?" Viper asked.

"They didn't do anything to my armor besides add more music for me to listen to, but I did order some weapons," Night answered.

"What did you get?" Shade asked curious.

"I got me a seventy-five-millimeter single shot pistol, ordered it with some sabot, high explosive, and some shrapnel rounds," Night finished.

Viper was moving around on his talons anxiously, "So is it...?"

Night gave him a smile, "You know it is... it's time the fucking reds lose a couple islands."

End flashback.

He decided that they were going to make a stop to New Zealand first before heading to Japan, there had been some rumors of activity there and it would make for an easy first mission.

Night looked around, remembering the area where they were at, "Alright, we are going to walk the rest of the way from here, we can't hide behind the curvature of the earth from here."

"From where you told me you live, we should only be around two miles from here," Night said while landing in the woods, Jasper following him.

Jasper nodded, "Hazel never really liked the city, so when we got married we moved out onto the countryside."

They both started walking through the woods, avoiding the low-hanging branches and leaves.

"Night, I appreciate this and all, but why are you breaking the rules just to help me?" Jasper asked confused.

Night, not even missing a beat, "Jasper, I know you are still new to all this, but some rules need to be broken."

Night took a deep breath before continuing, "When I first really started going into my role as "The Black Reaper" I was breaking rules left and right, but the admirals never cared, at the end of the day, I was doing the best out there and that was all that mattered."

Night shook his head remembering the next part, "I can't tell you how many times I had to get my fourteen repaired just because I pushed her too hard..."

"You... sound like you miss it?" Jasper asked him.

Night slowed to a stop, "Absolutely, don't get me wrong, I love being a dragon and it is definitely a better trade, but... the fourteen was my home away from home, I knew the moment I sat in her that she was made for me and there was NO other made for her, I went through a co-pilot every three to five battles."

Night started walking again, "And what about you, do you miss being a scientist?"

"Actually... no," Jasper said, not sounding upset, "I still pretty much am a scientist, it's just not my main profession anymore, I still fill out reports and notes, I just now have a change of priorities."

Night smiled, "Well that's good, and Jasper, I recently had an idea."

"What's that?" Jasper asked back.

"We still got more dragon DNA from other dragons, right?"

"Ya," Jasper said nodding.

"Then you may want to tell the scientist to start making more dragons, I have a feeling they are going to be wanted after we are done with Japan," Night explained.

They saw a clearing up ahead, "Jasper, I'm going to wait here, I'll let you do what you want, it's all up to you if you want to send her a letter or try and meet her in person."

Jasper's eyes grew in shock, "What, but I thought I was just supposed to deliver a letter?"

Night flicked his eyes to him, "Rules are meant to be broken... right?"

Jasper slowly started to walk into the clearing shocked, "Night... thank you."

Night nodded his head, waving his talons, shooing him away.

Jasper walked through the clearing, disappearing in the night.

Night quietly sat down, looking around the woods and up into the starry sky, smiling at just being in the environment he was in.

He hasn't been in the woods since... well, since Dad was alive. He missed this.

He used to go hunting with him during the cold winter, coming back home to a warm meal and blanket.

Night sat there, basking in the peaceful presence of the night.

One day... one day I want to do this with my own kids...

Kinda hard when there is almost nobody in the world that is like you.

Night closed his eyes, laying down on the forest floor.

A city burning.

Two brown dragons holding each other, crying tears of joy.

The moon slowly crumbling to dust.

Two dragons, one black, and one white covered from head to talons in blood.

"Who are... are you- actually... no, not yet."

Night's eyes shot open, gasping for air as he stood up in shock.

"What was that?" He muttered to himself while lightly shaking.

CRACK!

Night's head jerked to the side, spotting Jasper creeping back towards him.

"Night, we need to leave!" Jasper whispered in a panicked voice.

"Are you already finished?" Night asked confused, "Did you even talk to her?"

"No, I never even got the chance, the house was being staked out, I could see some people in a car near the house!" Jasper said worried.

"Damn, should have expected they would be watching her..." Night said, scolding himself.

"But, I did place a letter near the pond by the house, I hit it under the bench in a place she should see it, she likes to sit by the pond," Jasper said.

"Good, then lets get out of here, I don't want to find out if they have anyone in the woods as well..." Night nervously said, trying to get his mind off the strange dream he was just having.
