A/N Gordon's journey to Sodor, including arrival there.
Gordon was no longer needed by his home railway, so he was sold. Sir Topham Hatt was the buyer because he needed an Express engine. His other Express engines were too small to handle the new coaches, in Edward's case and too weak to pull trains sometimes, in Henry's case.
Gordon's driver told his engine, "We're going to Sodor."
Gordon said, "I shall miss this place. Cheerio.". A big tear welled up in the corner of each eye as Gordon thought about those who influenced him and he had to leave behind. "Dry my eyes or leave me alone," he said to his crew.
Gordon's driver dabbed his engine's eyes with his sleeve. "It's hard to leave this place. I'm dreadfully nostalgic," he said.
Gordon's crew gave him coal and water and he steamed away, leaving his siblings and heading to his new home. Gordon came to the Walney channel and now he and his crew were crossing the bridge to Sodor. He whistled his good-bye to the Mainland, as he was told people on Sodor called the place they were leaving. Sir Topham Hatt told Driver and then he told me what Sir Topham Hatt told him.
Gordon steamed across the bridge to Vicarstown and Sir Topham Hatt told Gordon what to expect.
"You've got to be a Really Useful Engine on my railway. I'm a very busy man, running my railway. I bought you for this railway to be my Express engine, but you may need to pull other trains."
Gordon said, proudly, "I'm a big, strong engine and I'm a passenger engine. I'm not a goods engine."
The other engines whistled their welcome to the newcomer and he went to the Works to be inspected. And so began the rest of Gordon's life.
A/N Based on my FanFicition buddy's typing and something I read, Gordon's a personality type that's very nostalgic.
