Teddy was sitting on the couch in the attendings lounge sipping a cup of decaf coffee and trying to nibble on a bagel.
"So," Bailey said as she sat down on the couch, "do you want to tell us something Altman?"
"What," Teddy asked.
"Hmm," Callie said sitting on the other side of Teddy, "decaf for a while, scrubs looking a little snug, not eating sandwiches for lunch anymore."
"I got bored of them," Teddy replied.
"You're pregnant," Bailey said.
"Ya," Teddy smiled, "13 weeks tomorrow."
"Why didn't you tell us," Callie asked.
"We're waiting for the NIPT test and quad screen," Teddy replied.
"Have you not been sick," bailey asked.
"I have been," Teddy replied, "but I already need to go shopping this weekend if your noticing. I thought it was just me and Henry."
"Just the boobs," Callie replied, "but you're so tiny normally that any change is going to be noticeable."
"I hid it with Tuck for a long time," Bailey replied.
"I'm hoping to hide it a bit longer," Teddy admitted, "maybe it's time for a looser scrub top. This is going to be hard. I don't have the energy for my work outs."
"You still work out like your in the army," Callie teased, "I tried to work out with you once."
"I worked out a lot before the army," Teddy said, "they just taught me how to do it better. We're still hiking with Owen this weekend."
"Have you told Hunt," bailey asked.
"He's known since 8 weeks. We told him after the dating scan," Teddy smiled, "he says he's happy for us but I think he's a bit jealous."
"Well after Yang," Bailey said.
"I'm not going to comment," Teddy replied, "I know more than I should say. He talked to me after."
"Hows Henry with it," Callie asked.
"Very excited," Teddy smiled, "we want our baby. We both want two eventually."
"Two," bailey asked.
"Two would be perfect," teddy smiled, "but I'm already in my late 30s so who knows."
"Your first," bailey confirmed.
"Yea but we've had a miscarriage at 7 weeks four months before I got pregnant with this one," Teddy replied, "I'm cautiously optimistic."
"Your through the highest risk part," Callie smiled, "I'm so happy for you and Henry! Arizona will be two."
"What will I be happy for Teddy and Henry about," Arizona asked.
"I'm pregnant," Teddy announced.
"Congratulations,0 Derek beamed coming in behind Arizona.
"What are we congratulating," Mark asked.
"Teddys pregnant," Arizona smiled.
"Who knows," Derek asked.
"Henry," Teddy laughed.
"Other than your husband," Arizona said.
"The people in this room, Owen and Christina," Teddy replied, "Derek you can tell meredith but I don't want it to be hospital news yet. I need more time."
"How are you feeling," Arizona asked.
"Okay right now," Teddy answered, "this is more exhausting than I thought."
"It is," Callie agreed.
"I was a resident it was hard," bailey agreed, "if you need help you tell someone."
"I'm going to hire another cardio surgeon who can do my night call," Teddy replied, "I cleared it with Hunt."
"Good idea," Callie agreed, "your okay? Not sick?"
"I hid it," Teddy replied, "army training helps there. You learn to suck it up."
"Baby Burton," Arizona asked.
"Hyphenating," Teddy replied, "probably my name first. What did you do?"
"Tuck has his dad's name," Bailey replied.
"Sophia has Robbins as a middle and Slone-Torres as her last," Mark said.
"Your oldest,"Teddy asked.
"Riley," Mark replied.
"Zola is Grey-Shepard," Derek said.
"Your parents," Bailey asked.
"Passed a few years ago," Teddy replied, "I have a brother and Henry has a sister."
"Do they know," Bailey asked.
"Not yet," Teddy replied, "Will and I don't really talk."
"Will and Teddy," Callie asked, "I saw your legal name on charts Theodora."
"Wilberforth," Teddy laughed, "I think I got the better name. I used Thea growing up and will still calls me that but Teddy was my nickname in boarding school."
"Another one whose parents didn't have time for you," mark asked.
"No my mom didn't work," Teddy replied, "she hosted functions and fundraisers it was just what dad's family did. All my cousins were at the same school. They thought it was a better education. I guess it worked. I'm a surgeon which was unexpected for a girl. Will is a math professor at MIT. Him and his boyfriend are very happy."
"Would you send yours to boarding school," Callie asked, "I went to private school that had a mix of day and boarding but we lived close by so I didn't board."
"Not likely," Teddy replied, "in special circumstances I would consider it in high school for a specific need or program but not as a general rule. We will do private school."
"What's wrong with public," Bailey asked.
"I don't know," Teddy replied, "I always went to good private schools with small classes and lots of resources."
"Do you know the gender," Arizona asked.
"Not yet," Teddy replied, "I want to know but Henry wants to be surprised."
"Find out it's easier," Callie suggested.
"Thats what I said," Teddy agreed.
Pagers started going off for a mass trauma.
"Lets go people," Owen said sticking his head in the door.
"Hunt did you hear," Derek asked, "Altman's"
"Pregnant," Owen nodded, "Teddy you okay?"
"Tired but mass trauma lets go," Teddy replied following the other attendings out of the room.
