War of Fates
Chapter 3
With Vegeta's attempt at motivation, Goku jumps back into training, trying harder to push past his limits and become more. He knew Vegeta was right, this was no time to question himself, it was time to go further, do better, and get stronger. Goku wasn't finished yet, he refused to be. Someone was out there, watching, and waiting. Goku wracked his brain trying to figure out who it was, but they kept enough distance where they couldn't be made out. It could be anyone, but who?
Goku had been training for days without stopping, he needed a break, even if he refused to accept it.
"Goku" Whis says catching the Saiyan's attention "I really think you need a break, even if just for a day."
"There's no time" Goku replies "I have to get stronger."
"You need to rest before you burn yourself out." Whis says "Your training has been very intense, and you need to be at your best should a fight arise."
"But if I'm not strong enough, It'll be no use" Goku says
"You are strong enough, Goku." Whis replies "Please, rest. Go home, eat, sleep, whatever you need to do, but trust me, you'll need the break. You've done well in your training and endured much."
"Fine" Goku sighs knowing Whis wouldn't give up.
Whis was thankful, not just for Goku's sake, but his own too. He too needed a break, Beerus had been on his back the last few days and Whis hadn't any time to deal with the God of Destructions neediness.
Goku left and headed home, but once he arrived Chi-Chi was waiting.
"Vegeta has been looking for you, where have you been?" Chi-Chi asks
"Training with Whis" Goku replies "What did he want?"
"He didn't say." Chi-Chi replied "He just told me to tell you that he needed to see you. He's at Capsule Corp I believe."
"Okay." Goku replies with a sigh "I'll head over to see him now. Must be important."
"Sounded it." Chi-Chi replies "Be safe."
Goku smiles a little before taking off once more to find Vegeta. His travel consisted of wondering what Vegeta wanted. Had there been an attack while he was gone? Was he just checking in? Who knows.
"Only one way to find out" Goku says quietly to himself as he lands on the ground in front of the Capsule Corp entrance.
Goku walks inside and looks around. He's not the only one here, everyone else is here too. Something's going on.
"Kakarot" Vegeta says noticing the fellow Saiyan "Where have you been? I've been looking for you."
"With Whis, training." Goku replies
"Well, anyway" Vegeta says "Part of the city was attacked earlier. Whoever it is wants our attention."
"Well, they have it." Krillin says "Who was it?"
"Well..." Vegeta looks over at Goku giving him a look "Frieza."
"But that didn't look like Frieza..." Goku says
"But it was." Vegeta replied "I told you it was a bad idea bringing him back to life after the tournament. You should not have mad that promise, Kakarot. He has a new form. I heard he calls it Black Frieza or something."
"I-I'm sorry." Goku stammers. "He helped us in the tournament and I thought he'd back off since I did that for him."
"It's Frieza!" Vegeta shouts "When would he ever back off? He's had it out for us from day 1! He's been smart about this, he made sure to attack so we wouldn't know until it's too late."
"We have to find him" Piccollo says. "Before he does any more damage."
"But how?" Krillin asks "He's obviously doing this to make sure we cant do anything about it. He's picking off the planet."
"We need to draw him out somehow..." Gohan says
"Maybe we could..." Goku trails off, turning toward the door he came in
"Kakarot?" Vegeta asks "What is it?"
"I don't think we need to draw him out..." Goku replies without shifting his gaze.
He could feel it, that power. This time, closer. Much closer. Goku headed toward the door without another word. Vegeta began to follow behind. Goku hesitated at the door for a moment before opening it. He stepped out, and there, right in front of him was none other than Frieza. Goku saw the new form. Frieza's lower body, neck, tail and arms were black. His shins, arm guards and most of his head were dark silver. His torse, lower head were unchanged, even keeping the usual purple tones that were usual to Frieza, aside from his gold form.
"Goku" Frieza says with a devious smile.
"What do you want Frieza?" Goku asks coldly "I'd have thought giving you another chance would have done you some good. I gave you another chance at life, but attacking the city when we weren't able to do anything is your way of saying thanks?"
"Did you honestly think I'd be any different?" Frieza laughs again "Come on now Goku, you know I'll never change."
"I should have sent you back to hell when the tournament finished." Goku says angrily.
"But you didn't, and here I am. stronger than ever."
"I have no problem sending you back to hell again, and this time for good." Goku snaps
"Try it, monkey." Frieza taunts "I'm sure you'll fail. I've seen what you're capable of."
"You've seen nothing." Goku replies "You saw my power when I first achieved it, now, things are different."
"Hmm" Frieza replies with a smirk. "I still think I can take you. This new form is my most powerful yet, and I have mastered it. Have you mastered your own form?"
Goku stared angrily at Frieza. He knew his form hadn't been fully mastered. Perfected Ultra Instinct was hard to maintain, he only had so long using it, and he was only just getting the hang of his own True Ultra Instinct. Goku had no idea what chance he stood against Frieza. Frieza wasn't afraid of showing how powerful he was, and Goku had no idea how it stood up against his own most powerful form. He couldn't let Frieza see his concerns, he just had to try. People depended on him, on his strength, and capabilities.
Vegeta wasted no more time listening to Frieza, and took his Ultra Ego form. His purple aura vanishing and showing the new look and power to his enemy. With the capability of his rage making him stronger, he felt Frieza didn't stand a chance. Vegeta launched himself toward Frieza, throwing his fist forward with the intentions of punching him square in his smug face, but Frieza effortlessly dodged the attack. Vegeta tried again, only for Frieza to punch him hard enough to send him flying.
Vegeta hit the ground with a mighty thud. He pulled himself to his feet with effort. Vegeta realised that Frieza hadn't just gotten stronger, he'd gotten MUCH stronger. Vegeta was yet to come across someone who could match him in strength...until now. He had no idea Frieza could get this strong this quickly. He didn't understand...how?!
"You see..." Frieza begins "You can't beat me. I'm much stronger than you can imagine."
"How is this possible?!" Vegeta questions
"You aren't the only ones with access to a Hyperbolic Time Chamber." Frieza says with a devious smile "I have found one that I have been able to use myself, I can train the same way you can."
Vegeta growled angrily before launching himself at Frieza again. Frieza hit Vegeta so hard that he knocked him out of Ultra Ego before he even hit the ground. Everyone stood in awe.
Goku had to do something. He saw Frieza begin to walk toward Vegeta, chanting about how how was going to kill him, then everyone else, and destroy the planet. Goku's anger rose. He had to help Vegeta, and everyone else. He was one of earths protectors.
Goku transformed into Perfected Ultra Instinct. He began to approach Frieza slowly.
"You won't be doing any of that" Goku says, his voice calm but firm
Frieza turned to face the Saiyan. "I've seen what this form can do, monkey. You won't last long. I've seen far less powerful opponents beat you in this form."
"And what happened?" Goku asks tauntingly "Every single time, I got back up. Every single time, I fought back, and every single time, I took the form again. You can't keep me down forever Frieza, but I assume you already know that. You can't keep any of us down. We are Saiyan warriors, we always get back up."
"Tell that to planet Vegeta and all who lived there." Frieza laughed "They didn't get back up after that, did they?"
"That was not the same." Goku says shaking his head.
"It's exactly what's going to happen here." Frieza replies. "You and Vegeta shouldn't have gotten off that planet. I will wipe out the Saiyans."
"You've got a good few of us to go through first." Gohan pipes up
"Try it, half breed." Frieza taunts
Goku knew what he had to do. NO ONE talks to his son that way. What Frieza didn't realise is the more angry he made Goku, the more it fuelled Perfected Ultra instinct.
Goku launched an attack at Frieza, who dodged with very little effort. Frieza tried punching Goku, but Goku's instinct had him dodge. Frieza threw more punches, of which Goku continued to evade with little effort. Vegeta took this as his chance. Taking up his Ultra Ego form once back on his feet while Frieza was occupied. Vegeta launched an attack on Frieza once more, managing to land a punch and sending Frieza tumbling to the ground.
Vegeta stood next to Goku with a smirk. He felt accomplished with what he did, using Frieza being distracted as an opening.
"Lucky shot." Frieza says "You won't be so lucky next time."
Goku doesn't hesitate to try and attack Frieza again, but this time, Goku isn't able to dodge his attacks. One strike sent Goku through the wall of Capsule Corp, and Bulma is NOT happy.
Goku pulls himself to his hands and knees, currently questioning the ability to defeat Frieza. He realises maybe Perfected Ultra Instinct isn't right for this battle. he's focusing so much on keeping himself calm on top of everything else, that it's becoming a challenge. Goku pulls himself to his feet, takes on his True Ultra Instinct form, and steps out of the hole left in the wall. It's time to let his emotions run wild, and better fuel his fight while still utilising Ultra Instinct. Goku keeps his composure, not allowing Frieza to know how he's feeling just yet.
Vegeta is doing his best to stand up to Frieza, he's taking a beating, but holding his own, managing to land a few hits here and there. He notices Goku, and the change of form, Vegeta smiles a little, he knows what's going to come. He knows Goku can control this form better and can be more loose with his emotions.
While Frieza is distracted, Goku lands a mighty punch which sends Frieza flying into the air. Goku appears above Frieza and hits him again, which sends him plummeting toward the ground. Frieza crashes into the ground leaving a decent sized crater. Goku lands on the ground, at the edge of the crater, dust and dirt from the impact still floating around.
Frieza appears from the smoke, catching Goku by surprise, he swings hard, sending Goku flying until he hits the ground. Goku doesn't move for a moment, the pain is intense. It was in that moment he realised how hard Frieza hit.
"Kakarot!" Vegeta shouts
Goku turns his head to look at Vegeta, gives a weak smile and a thumbs up "I'm alright" He says weakly
"Come on, get up" Vegeta says approaching Goku.
Vegeta reaches out his hand, which Goku grabs and is pulled to his feet. "1 on 1 isn't working. We need to do this together."
"Agreed." Goku replies. "Vegeta watch out!"
Goku pushes aside the Saiyan quickly before he's hit with a blast from Frieza.
Vegeta stumbles back onto his feet and glares at Frieza.
"You bastard." Vegeta snaps
Frieza laughs
"Let's kick his ass, Kakarot." Vegeta says
"Gladly" Goku replies with determination.
Both Saiyan's launch an attack on Frieza. Frieza tries to block and dodge the flurries of kicks and punches coming at him, but he can't avoid them all. Vegeta lands a hit that sends Frieza tumbling to the ground.
Goku charges up an attack. He wasn't waiting for Frieza to get up, that's for sure.
"Kaaaa..." Goku begins
Frieza begins pulling himself to his feet.
"Meeeee..."
Vegeta once again knocks him to the ground
"Haaaa..."
Frieza gets to his feet, preparing an attack on his own before Vegeta attacks again, but Frieza throws him to the ground.
"Meeee..."
Vegeta throws Ki blasts at Frieza.
Frieza tries to focus on Goku but Vegeta refuses to allow it.
"HAAAAA!" Goku screams as he fires his attack at Frieza.
Frieza holds it back, and is pushing it back toward Goku.
Vegeta has an idea. He was going to fire his own attack.
"Galick Gun!" Vegeta screams
Vegeta's attack merges with Goku's Kamehameha, making both attacks become one, making it more powerful. Frieza struggles to hold it off.
Eventually, he can't hold it off as both Saiyan's poor their everything into their attacks and it overpowers Frieza. With a scream, Frieza takes the full force of the attacks and collapses to the ground.
Vegeta and Goku stand there for a moment, wondering if Frieza would get up.
With effort, Frieza does get up, but quickly leaves knowing if he stays, he won't live to see the next day. The battle took it's toll of Frieza, but he was far from done.
Goku and Vegeta return to base form, both clearly exhausted from the Stamina drain due to their forms.
"He's strong" Goku says finally
"We're lucky" Vegeta says "He's stronger than I expected."
"It's not over." Goku says "He'll be back, and no doubt stronger."
"We must be ready, if we aren't careful, he could kill us all." Piccollo says
"Not gonna happen!" Goku exclaims "We are gonna be ready next time, and stronger. He won't be back yet, and we have a chance to get stronger and be more prepared."
"Kakarot's right" Vegeta says "We know what he's capable of now. We can be more prepared for him."
"Time to get back to training!" Goku says with excitement in his voice "The Hyperbolic Time Chamber might be a good one for this!"
"Yes." Vegeta replies "We need to get on a higher level than we are now. We need to cram years worth of training into a few days."
"Don't be too long in there, we will need it too" Gohan says "We know what you 2 can be like!"
Goku laughs a little. Gohan isn't wrong. Goku loves training.
Vegeta and Goku head off to gather Whis and Beerus to help them train in the chamber. Their determination to defeat Frieza was still very fresh. There was no time to waste!
