Annabeth's POV:

I closed my eyes, remembering unwanted memories.

1ST

F L A S H B A C K

I had just given Sophie the friendship necklace.

'Please like it, please like it, please' I thought, repeating the mantra a million times in my head.

I had literally dragged my step-mom to a relatively expensive store to buy these friendship necklaces. I had also promised her that I would do the cleaning in our house without telling dad for three weeks.

If Sophie didn't like it, it would all be wasted.

"You didn't have to!" Sophie exclaimed.

"I took both our eye color for the wrapping, and I think they go really well together!" I said happily. "And of course I had to get you something! You're my BFF!"

"It looks amazing, thank you so much! I'm actually scared of ripping it!" she laughed.

I shrugged nonchalantly.

"It doesn't matter if you rip it." I smiled.

'Just wait until you see the inside' I thought excitedly.

Sophie grinned and repeated her thanks, then went on to carefully unfolding the wrapping paper.

The beautiful box was revealed and before I could count the seconds, the friendship necklaces were out.

She looked back at me in shock.

"This is incredible, thank you so much!" she said before launching herself at me for a bear hug.

I laughed, blowing a breath I didn't know I was holding, and smiling happily.

"Of course!" I said, my arms tightening the hug.

After a few moments, Sophie pulled away and gave me one of the necklaces and slipped the other around her own neck.

I fastened the clip around my neck and grinned at her. She smiled right back.

"Can we try to fasten them together?" she asked shyly.

"Yep!" I answered.

We pushed the two half-hearts pendants together to form a whole heart.

(A/N: I know this explaining is really very trashy but they're actually just putting their two friendship necklaces together 'cause that's what friendship necklaces together)

"It's so pretty!" Sophie said.

"Yeah!" I said.

She looked at me for a second before placing a blue packaging in my hands.

"And this is for YOU!" she said excitedly.

I stared at the ice blue packaging. And me being me, I asked the most stupid question in the world.

"What is in it?" I asked, my eyes widening.

Sophie laughed.

"I guess you'll have to open it to find out." she said, putting her hands in front of her eyes mysteriously.

I ripped the wrapping paper.

Inside were two matching bracelets with owls and elves on it.

One of which was being fiddled by Seaweed brain on this present day.

"I'll hold them off, GO!" Thalia told us, as enormous monsters stomped over to us.

I gasped at the Cyclops as Luke pulled my arm to take me away.

"Wait! You'll need this." I shook my arm away from Luke's grip, and took the bracelet Sophie had given me off of my wrist before giving it to Thalia. "For good luck, my best friend gave it to me, give it to me after you've kicked those big Cyclops' butts!"

Thalia nodded with her electric blue eyes sparkling.

"I will." she reassured me, determination painted on her face.

Luke grabbed my arm, and we started running up the hill. My legs burnt from how fast we were going, but I just kept running, not daring to stop, from fear that the Cyclops would catch up with us.

A shout of victory echoed throughout the hill. But it wasn't Thalia's voice: it was a low groan.

I looked behind me, feeling Luke do the same.

"Thalia!" I yelled, seeing Zeus's daughter fall to the ground.

Luke pulled me toward an opening in the Pine trees that surrounded us.

"We don't have time, she sacrificed herself for us to have time, we can't waste that." he told me, though his voice was cracked.

I sobbed, still staring at Thalia's fallen figure. She had been like a big sister to me, and now she was gone. I would never be able to see her again.

My eyes suddenly widened at the sight of an opening, where a tall entrance presented itself a few feet from us.

"Come on Annabeth, we're almost there!" Luke encouraged in reassurance. "You're going to make a lot of friends here, don't worry!"

A/N:

Heyyyyy, I know the endings of the last Sophie's POV and this ending are kind of similar, but that was done on purpose, see you Demi-Elves, I have to go do my homework, but I'll try to write the next chap tomorrow. Keyword: TRY
