A/N: Hey guys! I think I've finished ALL my homework for this week *stares at the chapter I need to learn for an evaluation in Music*!

Just saying, all my chapters will always be between 400 and 500 words. That's my one rule.

I hope you enjoy!

Sophie's POV:

I searched through my bag, looking for the friendship bracelet Annabeth had given me for my seventh birthday.

I didn't really know why this was so important to me, maybe it was the feeling in my gut telling me I had to find it.

The friendship necklace and the bracelet were the only things left of Annabeth before she ran away. I had been the only one she had said goodbye to at the last moment.

I wiped my humid eyes furiously before continuing to search.

Why did she have to go?

SLIGHT SPOILER IF YOU DON'T KNOW THE REAL REASON ANNABETH RAN AWAY, BUT IT DOESN'T REALLY MATTER, YOU CAN JUST READ THE NEXT LINE!:

I knew it was because she felt like her family didn't care about her and some magical spiders appeared in her room when she was alone, but I cared about her, and we could've had a sleepover together so that the spiders would go away in my presence.

Tears continued to flow down my cheeks as I dumped everything my bag contained on the floor. I searched desperately for a gray chained bracelet in the mess.

Suddenly, my eyes caught (I don't know why that got me laughing, is that even English? XD) on a bracelet with owls and stereotypical elves.

I smiled while I took it carefully in my hand and sprawled onto the ground, hugging the bracelet as if it was Annabeth and clutching the friendship necklace like it was her hand. (A/N: Am i the only one who thinks this sounds as if I ship them? Just so you know: I DONNNNNNNNNNNNN'T)

I missed her. I don't know how much time I stayed there.

I just stared into space, until someone knocked on my door.

"Come in." I called just loud enough for the person to hear.

The door slid open to reveal Biana Vacker, my best friend, with an excited expression on her face.

She wasn't looking at me, or else she would already pitying and being worried for me.

Good., I thought.

"I heard Keefe asked you out on a date!" she squealed, already looking through my overly gigantic closet.

"Where did you hear that from?" I asked groaning.

How did information spread so much?

"Well, he came over to Evergleen to ask dad some stuff, and I may have vanished and eavesdropped on them..." she trailed off, picking a few dresses.

(A/N: I was going to say 'to tell Fitz' because he's his best friend, but I think Fitz would just be jealy because... you know, so I was like: Alden is like a father to him! So I just put this)

Of course, out of all the Abilites she could get, Biana had to have the one that permitted her to eavesdrop on everyone.

I blushed.

"So you're here to help me get ready." I guessed, still lying on the ground.

She turned to me, with her grin still plastered on her face.

"Of cour- Sophie, what happened to you?" she asked, her voice changing from excited to worrying, with a little crinkle between her eyebrows.

I must have looked a mess, lying down with my puffy red eyes.

"It's nothing." I answered, mostly trying to lie to myself.
