Sunny paced around her tent, trying to figure out how the events of the past few days had drastically steered away from the plans she had made in her head.
All they were supposed to do was beat Navy's army in a battle, escape the Great Above, and figure out a way to keep them out of their world.
Needless to say, she was not expecting two extras to arrive.
"Okay, so here's what we'll do," Sunny explained, staring at the three stowaway teenagers that she had with her. "We're going to win this war, find the others, and then escape with King and the others."
"And Navy?" Yellow asked.
"We leave them behind," Sunny said. "Dead or alive, they stay here."
"Got it."
"How could the others get in, though?" Blue asked.
"Willow could still be in the castle," Purple explained. "She might be able to get them here, one way or another."
"Purple makes a point. They figured out how to get into the base last time, given we were being shot at after screaming at each other, but we still got in, so they could get into the Great Above themselves."
"You sound so unworried about your friends." Sunny noted.
"We're not stupid. All of us are smart in our own way, so we should be able to get past these guys in no time."
Second had underestimated why Willow was so calm as they entered the other dimension.
Because as soon as all of them had regrouped in the basement-looking room, she attacked and separated them.
Second and the others were tied up with vines and tossed to another side of the room, while Willow focused on King and Gold.
"Okay, Willow? I don't know what the hell your doing attacking us, but your acting like your working with the enemy, and we just went through something so similar, and we can't go through that again."
Willow said nothing. Amber took the reins.
"You two will be coming with us." She said robotically.
Gold blinked. "What?"
Second spoke up. "Just go with her. It'll do all of us some good if we comply with these guys. Remember, we're here for Blue, Yellow, and Purple if we're lucky. So just work with them and we'll all get out of this mess alive."
Gold stared at them, then at his father. "Okay. We'll go with you."
Willow smirked, dismissing them away, before turning her attention back to the remaining teenagers.
"Showtime." She said.
Gold flinched as Amber slammed the door.
"Okay, psycho, who the hell are you and why did you attack us?" King snapped. "Where's Purple?!"
"Gosh, King, I wish I knew where your old son went." Amber said with fake sweetness.
Gold snarled. "Don't talk about Purple like that, woman!"
"Hey, be glad she's not calling him worthless. Then she's asking for it." King said, placing an arm between Amber and Gold.
"Fair argument. But still, where's Purple?!"
"Why would you ask about some nobody to this family, son?" Amber asked.
Gold blinked, almost losing his balance. "What?!"
"Your not Gold's mother," King snarled.
"You don't remember me?"
"Gold's mother died in childbirth," King continued. "She's been dead his entire life, and your living and breathing."
"So?"
"Navy could've resurrected her." Gold said.
"But why? He's trying to tear me and Purple apart. What's the point of bringing my dead wife into the equation when Purple's never met her, and she doesn't play a role at all in this entire thing!"
"I could just kill you," Amber said, a knife suddenly at her side. "Wouldn't that tear you two apart?"
"Put a hand on him, see what happens." Gold growled.
"Aww, the little boy wants to fight me?" Amber said sweetly, as if talking to a toddler.
Gold grabbed a knife from the table behind them. "Try me, mother."
"Finally!" Chosen exclaimed as he burned through the vines holding Second and the others captive. "Now, let's get King and Gold and get the hell out of here."
"Where are they, though?" Red asked.
Amber's scream cut through the area.
"Question answered. Let's go!" Sapphire shouted, running for the door.
"Sapphire, wait!" Scarlet and Copper shouted.
It was too late. Sapphire crashed into the door full force, barely missing Amber's knife that flew past her.
"Duck!" Gold screamed to the others behind her, who quickly dodged out of the way.
King took his chance to grab Gold and run outside, slamming the door and trapping Amber. "Let's get the hell out of here."
"How?"
Green picked up a paper, holding it up to the group. "I think I know the best place we can go."
Sunny was not expecting an attack on the camp.
One minute, everything was calm. And the next, Night Shade had discovered them and was attacking everyone who was not fighting in the war.
"Shit! How the hell did he find us?!"
"When I found out your friends had escaped the castle and Purple had escaped the day prior!"
Sunny's heart dropped. "Well, this is great! The others are around here somewhere, but high chance we'll never see them again because Night Shade's gonna kill us!"
"Oh, relax!" Yellow said. "He won't kill us!"
Yellow clearly did not understand the severity of the situation they were in.
"Yellow. This guy has killed us before. He will do it again." Blue said.
Yellow flinched, remembering what happened last time.
"Come on! We've gotta make a boat or something!" Green exclaimed.
"How?! We don't have enough blocks!" Blue shouted back.
"And the thunderstorm took a lot out of the staff, I doubt it's gonna do much." Yellow added.
"So we're screwed?" Red deadpanned.
"Essentially."
Green was cut off by a large energy blast from above, followed by numerous screams.
Nobody had to think twice about what that meant.
Night Shade had followed them.
"Fuck."
"Then how are we going to get across the ocean to the base to rescue Purple and the others?!" King asked.
A faint cackle came from above them. "Oh, that's an easy answer."
A blast of energy surrounded them, followed by a gust of cold air.
"You won't be able to."
The world around Yellow felt cold and stiff. After the energy blast, his entire body was covered in Grey spots that rapidly grew in size and spread across his body.
"Leave...my friends...alone." He gasped out, staring at the others suffering similar fates.
He could only think about how Gold and the other's final moments were.
"Oh, don't worry. Your friends are fine. Oh, and look on the bright side! You'll remaining alive friends will have a front row seat to your demise!"
Yellow could feel King's reaction. Purple would be forced to watch them all die.
Second and Dark would, too.
Their three remaining friends would have to watch the only people left in their lives die before them.
God knows how Purple would take that.
"Purple's lost his entire family..." King snapped with what remaining strength he had. "Don't make him watch the deaths of the only people he has left..."
"Oh, but then where's the fun in that?!" Night Shade smirked."
Yellow couldn't take anymore. He left the cold feeling wash over him before it all went black.
"I'm sorry we couldn't stop him, Purple."
"Yellow, look out!" Purple screamed, sending Yellow flashing back into reality.
A blast from behind then was sent flying above, hitting Night Shade directly.
"Jesus Christ."
"Holy shit."
"What the hell was that about?!" Blue screamed, glancing beyind him to see what had happened.
"Blue!"
"Yellow!"
Both sticks glanced at the forest opening, and the sticks standing in it.
"King?" Purple muttered.
"Purple?"
