Katara and Aang stood outside on the balcony, hand in hand, watching the stars, for a long time. A shooting star beamed across the sky prompting Aang to say, "make a wish." Katara looked at him, "it already came true," she said softly causing Aang to smile and blush shyly.
After a few moments of silence between them, Katara finally said, "we should go in before the others start wondering where we are."
"We've actually been watching the whole time. You guys are so cute!" Said a voice coming from an open window upstairs that both Katara and Aang had failed to notice.
Katara looked up to find Ty Lee poking her head out the window with a smile on her face and Mai standing next to her. "To be honest, I thought you guys were already together, but if not it really was about time," said Mai who was very much trying to keep a smirk from forming on her lips. Aang and Katara looked at each other and blushed before walking back inside to find Sokka sitting at the nearest table to the door with his arms crossed.
"Aang, you know I love you, but as Katara's big brother I must treat you as hostile-" Sokka was cut off by Katara, "Sokka! Seriously?!"
"He needs to get 'the talk'" Sokka said, matter of factly
"Why, Sokka? We've been traveling with him for a year, nothing has changed!"
Sokka gestured to the new couple who were holding hands, "I am just doing my brotherly duty, Katara."
"I didn't give Suki a talk when you started dating her! And also, haven't any of you people heard of PRIVACY?"
Sokka looked down trying to find a way to defend his eavesdropping. Aang put a hand on Katara's arm, "it's okay, sweetie...wait can I call you sweetie? Is that okay?"
Katara smiled, blushing, "yes it's okay, I actually really like it."
Aang promptly nodded, "okay, sweetie it is then! I will let Sokka give me 'the talk' and I'll meet you upstairs, okay?"
Katara nodded and Aang pressed a kiss to her cheek causing Sokka to gag and the new couple to blush intensely.

"And then I just kissed him," Katara said, recounting the story to Ty Lee for a third time.
"Katara, it's just so sweet! I hope I find love like yours someday," Ty Lee gushed.
"You won't," said Mai, causing her to receive a hurt look from Ty Lee. Mai sighed in response, "No I didn't mean it like that. I just mean that all love is unique just like people are unique. It is likely that you find love, but it'll be for you, not like someone else's." Mai finished. This brought a smile back to Ty Lee's face.
"That was really deep Mai," said Suki, who was also, like Katara, patiently waiting for her boyfriend to come back upstairs.
Poor Zuko was the only guy up there, and he was stuck listening to love stories. However, he didn't complain. He would never admit it, but he actually liked hearing them and really enjoyed getting to watch Mai get acquainted with the gaang. After being "friends" with Azula for so long she deserved some actual good friends to spend her time with.

Aang and Sokka sat in uncomfortable silence for way longer than was necessary. This was meant, on Sokka's part, to intimidate Aang; however, this was lost on Aang, who was actually more confused than anything.
Aang, who was growing tired and impatient, finally said, "so what was it you wanted to talk to me about, Sokka?"
Sokka's lips slowly formed a smile and then he let out a laugh. "Nothing. I knew you and Katara would end up together eventually. I mean you saw her face when we first found you in the ice..."
Aang blushed.
"Anyway, you're a pretty awesome guy, and the avatar, and someone who I'm glad to call friend. Between you and me, and I'm serious if you tell Katara I'll kill you, but between you and me there isn't anyone else I'd want her dating."
Aang smiled at this, and the two boys got up to embrace each other. As they pulled away though, Sokka got a serious look in his eyes, "and Aang, I say this as your friend, if you ever hurt her, if you ever even think about hurting her, I will end you."
Aang gulped and nodded, "yes sir."
At this Sokka smiled and his seriousness faded. "One more thing, try not to be too gross around me. Please."
A smile spread across Aang's lips, "no promises, Sokka," and he turned and walked upstairs.
"Wait! Wait! What do you mean no-" Sokka was cut off by Suki who was standing at the top of the steps. "Sokka! Leave him alone."
"Did Katara put you up to this?" Sokka asked as Suki descended the staircase.
Suki laughed, "no, I think she's already asleep. Believe it or not I actually wanted to come see you."
Sokka blushed as Suki cupped his face and kissed his lips. "My sleeping bag is cold without you."
Sokka needed no more convincing to follow her back up the stairs. They did have a long day tomorrow.
