The Bakugan Battle Brawlers in:
A New Era
The next time Cameron would open his eyes, they would be greeted by buzzing fluorescent lights while hearing beeps next to him. When looking around, he noticed he was within a sterilized white room. When he moved slightly, his body was hissing in lasting pain. He saw the window being covered by a curtain and saw that it was probably night outside, though there was an ember gleam on the horizon.
At the other end of the room, he could see the object of his affection slumped over in a chair, asleep. "Zavanna? She stayed here... for me?"
"Heh, lucky you." He saw Blazeon lying on the nightstand next to him, he was right by a vase of flowers. "She said she'd never leave your side; you should have seen her father's face. He looked like he was about to blow a fuse, haha."
"That's not funny."
"Yeah, it is. But her sister said something about... 'Maybe there is something to the human if he can eliminate Kyubis.'"
Cameron sighed. "Great... makes sense she'd go easier on me now that I have damn kill count."
"Of only one," Blazeon interjected.
"I wish it hadn't gotten to that... Just... I don't know how to feel about that. I had to, otherwise things could have ended a lot worse. But... I thought I'd feel worse about it..."
Blazeon hovered next to Cameron. "Maybe it hasn't sunk in yet...?" Sensing Cameron was about to go into deeper, melancholic thoughts. He came up with an idea to ease the tension. "Hey, wanna throw me at your girlfriend and wake her?"
"N-no... she's probably tired. She fought out there too."
"Pfft, I don't need you! I can fly, haha!" Cameron tried to reach out to him, but he was still too hurt to step out of the bed. "Hehe, nice try!" He kicked himself off the wall and flew over to the sleeping Fabregan on the other side of the room.
"Blazeon don't!"
"Hey, Zavanna! Your boy is awake!" As he flew over toward her the door opened, allowing a nurse to enter.
"Oh shi-" Blazeon bopped into her head, tipping the male nurse over while dropping the small stack of papers
The nurse got up and he looked at the guilty Bakugan. "Hehe... he threw me!" Blazeon exclaimed pointing his wing flap at Cameron.
"I-I can't move my arm much..." Cameron retorted, leading the nurse to gaze down at Blazeon.
"U-um... Cameron, quick. Go Reversion! We've got to get out of he-" the nurse scooped Blazeon in his hands.
Zavanna stirred awake after hearing the commotion. "H-huh... what is?" Right on the other side of the room, she recognized the teal eyes that she couldn't ever forget. "Cameron...!?" she covered her mouth when she saw him waving at her.
...
About 2 hours later, when the morning was in full swing, Cameron's bed was surrounded by his 6 friends that have been there from the beginning, while his mother was standing next to the doctor who looked over him.
"How are you feeling?" she asked
"Pretty weak... and tired... and everything hurts... where even are we?"
The female doctor spoke. "We are in Wardington. You and a few other injured brawlers were moved. New York is still recovering from the war... you seem all right."
"Heh, I thought I'd be in worse shape from that battle we fought yesterday, right?" Cameron chuckled, Though the room went quiet, Jayden even coughed in the background. "Wait... did something happen?"
Blazeon was tapping on the jar he was trapped in. "About that." Zavanna started. "You've been asleep for two weeks."
"TWO WEEKS!?"
The doctor nodded. "Yes... after you passed out, you were drifting in and out of consciousness before we operated on you. You needed a lot of stitches. And you're going to have a lot of scarring, thankfully though your flesh wounds have long since healed."
"Whoa... that's something!" Cameron said with a gasp.
"You are lucky you know... your injuries should have been a lot worse. Your healing was... accelerated. The Reversion process from your loudmouth Bakugan assisted in the healing process. And he threatened to 'Eat us for brunch' if you didn't make a full recovery."
"THAT'S STILL ON THE TABLE, HUMAN!" Blazeon exclaimed in a distorted voice from inside the jar.
"How do you know about Reversion?"
Cera folded her arms. "How do you think? We told her. It's not like it's a great big secret."
"But everyone knows now!" Jayden said. "Also, was it really you who destroyed The Statue of Liberty?"
Cameron chucked. "U-um... I didn't mean to?"
Her mother glared at him. "You have no idea how worried I was!" She took a calm breath before she opened her mouth to address her son again. "WHAT! THE HELL! WERE YOU THINKING!?". Her head grew as she yelled at him with flames shooting from her mouth. "Are you trying to give me a heart attack!? Why did you decide to fight her on your own."
Cameron turned away in guilt, during that battle, he gave everything he had but he never thought much about the people he would have left behind if he died. Especially in regards to his mother, she would have been infinitely devastated. "M-mom... I'm so sorry, I... I don't know what else to say."
"When we get back home, you're gonna be in so much trouble, young man!"
"I know..." he sadly replied.
He was surprised when she locked him in a grip-locked hug, aggravating his healing injuries. Tears were falling from her eyes, "I'm not may at you, my boy." she released him and looked into his eyes. "I'm so proud of you! But you're still my little Cammy bear! World saver or not!"
"Moooooooommm."
She rubbed his head after embarrassing him in front of his friends. "You're grounded." She chimed with a sweet smile.
"Aw really?" he said with a dejected sigh.
"Light punishment for destroying a national monument, don't you think?" Garfield joked.
"Pfft, you humans care so much about a statue?" Blazeon huffed. "You can build another one! Maybe one that's even better!"
The doctor looked down at her notebook. "You've been recovering nicely, but we'd like to keep you here for a couple more days. We'd like to put you on a program for some light physical rehabilitation since you've been bed-bound for the last 2 weeks. And we'll put you on some painkillers to ease the pain you're feeling.
"So... what did I miss?"
Akira sat on the side of the bed, close to Cameron. "Well, quite a bit. Let's start with Yukiko, she was arrested and is being charged by the UN as an International War Criminal. As for the rest of the Fabregans, that were at the frontlines. They are being charged too, but it appears that Valerie and Bones are providing all the information that they can. Possibly trying to give them lighter sentences and have the two of them handle their arrest and rehabilitation."
"Hehe, I don't know what to say about all that. But what about the Fabregans in space? Where are they going to go?"
They saw someone knocking at the door, it was revealed to be Andreas. "So, you're awake, huh? Finally. Would have been a total waste if you died."
Suzuna glared at him. "And you are?"
"Andreas Floure to you, human."
She folded her arms. "Suzuna Fowler, his mother. That would be Ms. Fowler to you. Mister." Andreas shrunk slightly when he saw the woman's eyes starting to flare up.
"U-um... my apologies, ma'am." he scratched the back of his head before he cleared his throat. "Anyway, I wanted to update you guys on the Fabregan exodus. So given our entire species is without a home, while you guys were cleaning up the damage in 'New York'. I've been planning. I've spoken to a few Bakugan on New Vestroia, and we've agreed to let some of the Fabregan tribes live there. Including the one I am starting. With the promise that the radius of our dimension controllers is set very small, about the radius of our villages, and absolutely no Bakugan experimentation."
"Hold up?!" a stunned Aisha gasped. "You? Starting a tribe?"
Andreas held his hand to his forehead. "Yeah, more and more people want to stick with me. Turns out a lot of faith in the crown and Fabregan leadership has been lost given the last King and Miss Yukiko's exploits. So, the smaller tribes are turning to me... for some reason."
"Says the person who rescued billions," Cera added with a smirk. "You should face it already, your people lost two leaders in the space of weeks. You're the only person that they can turn to."
"Well, New Vestroia isn't the only option. The science division within the Royal Guard is splitting off and wants to move one of the cities to the Earth's Moon, turns out it's not owned by a specific territory so it was relatively easy picking. And I've spoken to the leaders of Neathia, and Gundalia. They agreed if we stay in line, then they'll support us. "It's only the Jaya, the Aeson tribes, and their affiliates that are staying on Earth, taking up uninhabited land and planting their flags there."
"You guys are going to live on the Moon? That's so cool!" Cameron exclaimed.
"You've planet-hopped to Fabrega before. The Moon is nothing special. But yeah, I won't waste too much of your time. I was checking you haven't keeled over."
Aisha smirked. "Hey, Andreas... how's your 'pet cat'?"
His cheeks immediately went red. "You're lucky she's not around to hear this... Tammy'd try to claw your eyes out. Anyway, I'm going to leave, still a lot of stuff to sort out."
He exited the room while closing the door. Suzuna was scratching her head. "Um... what kind of cat is he taking care of?" she asked.
Zavanna let out a sigh. "There's a lot to explain... about everything."
Suzuna sighed. "And I just figured out the history between Fabregans and Alursians.."
Cameron laid his back on his pillow. "But after everything... Yukiko might have been right... nothing will ever be the same again."
...
Outside, there was a black van that had a human in a professional suit, occupying the driver's seat. On the passenger side was Oscar and, in the back, were Bones, Valarie and Zaria.
"Seriously, why am I here? You're the one who has the Alursians look up to?" Zaria complained.
Bones slowly nodded with his eyes closed. "Well, I'd prefer to have a younger representative along with me. We must meet with the Earth's leaders to discuss terms."
"Plus, we must prepare for the worst," Valerie advised. "It wouldn't be a surprise if humanity despises both our races and, just like with Yukiko, they will send us on our merry way."
Zaria folded her arms. "Even though we stopped her!? If it wasn't for us, their world would be under Yukiko's control by now."
Valerie furrowed her eyebrows, almost empathizing with Zaria's frustrations. "Humans are... a very selfish and opportunistic race when it comes to governance. Serving their own selfish intentions comes first before making decisions that help their people. So much for public servants." she concluded while folding her arms.
"We have Bakugan that can totally crush them... and thanks to those Dimension Cancellers that were injected into the Earth, Bakugan... will always be in their true forms, unless they return to ball forms themselves. So that's why they got the Vestals building dimension controllers all over the globe. Do you really think they are the kind of people who can govern a world like that? With creatures that they'll never understand?"
"Be that as it may, we are on their territory." Bones reminded. "Our people have no place to go and could be at the mercy of humanity's generosity or wrath."
"Didn't the Fabregans take their moon?" Zaria questioned.
Valarie giggled. "It's not like the Earthlings have people living there or have placed permanent ownership of it. Plus, they aren't a space-faring race, so that lunar rock would be better for our purposes. But there are Fabregan tribes that chose to live on the Earth's surface and are living off the land. It's those people that we must consider when negotiating with the humans for living arrangements."
They heard the door opening beside Valerie and saw Andreas entering. He closed the door with folded arms while glancing at the psychic next to him. "Yeah, you're right, Cameron is awake. Let's go already before we miss our flight?" Valerie noticed that he was shuffling a Bakugan in between his fingers.
"You're bringing Gleamroller?"
He looked out the window, watching the people pass them by, knowing how unaware they were of having their world flipped upside down had Yukiko's invasion succeeded. "I don't foresee things going wrong... but you know better than anyone that you must plan for everything. And I dare those 'government security' to take him from me!"
Gleamroller leaped onto his partner's shoulder. "And I'll stand by you, no matter the outcome."
"Rightfully said."
"I don't get it?" Zaria started. "We can easily get back to New York with that teleportation tech, plus our Bakugan can fly us there. Why must we use their planes to fly everywhere."
"We want to put ourselves on as much equal footing as the Humans. The last thing we want is to give them the idea that we think we are superior."
...
The next day, the four, escorted by Tiger Alursians acting as their guards, stood outside the United Nations Building in New York. The general assembly was called. Given the destruction that Earth suffered at the hands of Yukiko. The purpose was to figure out a resolution to their current crisis and determine the fates of the Fabregans and Alursians where some of their cities lay in orbit above the Earth.
"Now remember, you should let Bones and I do all the talking," Valerie said as she was being rolled with her wheelchair.
Zaria noticed the Dimension controller that stood in a secure encasing on top of the building. "Damn, those Vestals work fast."
Valerie giggled. "As you two will come to learn... some species are easier to deal with than others." They saw the guards standing in front of them, blocking their path.
"Apologies, you're not allowed to enter the building with your Bakugan."
Andreas sighed while fashioning a glare. "If you hadn't noticed, there's a giant dimensional controller sitting above your heads, preventing them from activating. Plus, we're disciplined enough, not to pull our tired trigger fingers you know!" the two guards then immediately stood firm and had their hands over their assault rifles hanging from their sides. "Right... violence... the only thing you primates respond to." he shuffled into his pocket and put his yellow and white Bakugan into the hands of the guard. "Will this suffice?"
After Andreas turned in his Bakugan, the guards made way for them to pass. They entered the large building with the eyes of the world upon them.
With the collective members in their seats, they all gave studious glares at the extraterrestrials that stood before them. Even if she was blind, Valerie could feel the judgmental gazes fixed on her. It was to be expected given what they went through.
The current President of the gathered assembly sat in his seat on the grand podium, a microphone with a translator fixed. "I declare." He started in English with a rather thick accent. "I declare that the emergency meeting for the United Nations General Assembly to resume."
He picked up a gavel, the wood echoing throughout the corridor. All camera lenses were fixed on the Fabregans and Alursians present.
"The case that stands before us is brought to us on behalf of the joint races of…" He took a moment to look at his documents. "…the Fabregans and Alursians. In light of the international security breaches, as well as the unveiling of the game known as 'Bakugan' composed of alien lifeforms, we have compromised with a hearing led by the following representatives of Fabregans: Lady Valerie, and Andreas Kishu Floure. And for the Alursian representatives, we have Zaria Lio and…Bones Kuro."
A few delegates exchanged looks of scrutiny. Bones remained poised despite the hundreds of stares following him. Tiger and members of the Royal Guard were present, each of them holding weapons.
However this didn't mean the UN hadn't come prepared with their own defense-armed military personnel Active Army and National Guard members stood along the isles, some stone-faced, while others were awestruck at the sight of actual anthropomorphic beasts and futuristic elves in the flesh.
The President of the General Assembly turned towards Valerie and cleared his throat. "Miss Valerie, it is now your turn to speak. Please state your case on behalf of your species."
Valerie nodded. "Much thanks." She straightened up. "It was mentioned prior to my communication, but I am Valerie. I, as well as my associate Andreas, represent the sanctity for the Fabregan race."
Andreas said nothing, but he kept a firm poise.
Valerie continued. "First and foremost. I want to say, on behalf of our species as well as those involved…" She bowed her head. "That we apologize for the inconvenience as well as the lives that were lost by us."
Many of the delegates murmured at her formal apology.
"We understand that our actions have caused harm as well as loss of innocent lives upon your kind. You are not obligated to accept our apology, but we would like for you to understand the ramifications that have led us to this point."
"And what exactly do you mean by 'ramifications'?" A delegate spoke up.
"Allow me to recap you of what Yukiko brought up prior to her proposition." She gestured over to Andreas, who walked up to her side. Silent, he used a thin metal bracelet and showed a depiction of Fabrega used on the greetings. "Unlike your planet, our planet, Fabrega, had a foundation built on many kinds of energy… one of them being the energy of Bakugan."
The screen changed, revealing the millions of images and shots taken of the various Bakugan across the world. Of such included Yukiko's forces as well as the Battle Brawlers and Neo Battle Brawlers.
"As you know now, Bakugan are sentient lifeforms like ourselves. They possess great strength and power. Power to alter landmasses if that's the case. However, when the lifeforce of our world could not be sustained, many including much of our Bakugan had to be evacuated."
"So you're telling us that an entire planet depended on the life of these Bakugan?" One delegate questioned, sounding doubtful. Others murmured with their own suspicions.
Valerie nodded. "That is correct. As such, with the aid of Andreas here as well as the assistance of those in association, we were able to evacuate our species into Arcs that could sustain us in space. Regrettably, only about 80% of our kind remained…less so after this effort."
The forum fell quiet as they saw images of the evacuations of those caught on smartphones and devices from Fabrega. The ground was tearing apart, as well as videos of people being transported. In a few of them, they showed some humans, leaving the masses dumbfounded.
How did humans end up on Fabrega? Why children?
Another delegate chimed in. "While your ramifications may be comprehensible, might we ask you, out of all the planets and interstellar anomalies out there, why did you choose Earth?"
"If I may also add," the delegate beside him spoke up. "With the technology that you have now, with even how you were able to crack through our most encrypted security to establish a connection on every cellular and satellite-driven device on the face of the planet. With that in mind, how was it that you decided that Earth was the best recourse for relocation? Are there no other planets within with such resources as ours that you've found a need for?"
"Certainly. And you do make a valid point. However, we have found very similar geographical structures between our worlds. Metals and alloys, water, and consumable products that are compatible with our own species. That said, I'm afraid that if we did so choose another planet, we would not have sufficient resources to last until the venture there. Apologies once more, but in conjunction with the following planets: Vestal, Gundalia, as well as Neathia, the Fabregans, and Alursians must seek permanent refuge as you as hosts."
Vestal? They heard that before, but now there were more planets they didn't know. Just what else were they missing out on?
Several shot up from their seats, raising hands and shouting.
"So there's more alien life?!"
"Are they familiar with these Bakugan that destroyed our homes and families?!"
"Does their own forces outweigh ours too?!"
The President got over his initial shock, lifting his gavel and bringing it down. "Silence. Silence." The crowd quelled, leaving him to turn back to them. "Thank you for your initial stand, Miss Valerie. Now, representative Bones Furo of the Alursians, please instigate your proposition?"
Bones nodded in respect. "Thank you, General Assembly President." He cleared his throat. "I understand that many of you hold us in contempt, but it is through this unprecedented union of us that we may be able to reach an agreement in light of Lady Valerie's refuge plea."
Andreas clicked the side of his bracelet, making numerous images of Earth's barren lands evident.
"The case may be different for others, but Fabregans have the technology to adapt to even the most extreme conditions. From what we have gathered about your world's weather patterns and geographical structure, adaptations and assessments are possible. As proposed by Yukiko, we have experience in supporting and aiding Bakugan to help maintain a structured natural environment."
"In order for us to breach possible coexistence, we have come to the following terms: The Fabregans can utilize their equipment and technology to help with the industrialization of Earth's ecology for our races to mutually benefit. As for the Alursians, though we have no technological advantages, we do possess traits that would make for the strength and manpower needed to help with the restructuring process. Not to mention Alursians have a deeper bond with Bakugan. If we can ask for their assistance, it can speed up the Earth's revitalization efforts."
A representative brought her lips to her microphone and cleared her throat. "I understand, your plan, and in an ideal world, this would be a sound strategy. However, these creatures these... 'Bakugan'. There is no escaping the fact that they are destructive. And as the world has seen, they can be used as weapons of war. And our world no doubt doesn't have the noticeable countermeasures – namely opposing Bakugan – That can be used as a deterrent, plus the fact that children have been using them as a spectacle is extremely concerning."
"No one can force a Bakugan to fight or do something that they wouldn't want to do." Bones calmly replied.
Another representative stood. "And yet... Bakugan... commanded by your people I must stress, committed murder and at Earth's expense, cost us a lot of money in destroyed cities. Are you saying we should just trust people let alone children to be able to use these weapons? And hope they have them under control? What if one day, they decide to stage an invasion of their own and try to take our world? These weapons are too powerful to be allowed to exist in our world, let alone in our homes."
Andreas's arms remained folded but his stance was tightening, a representative stood not far from him and voiced his opinion. "It is an outrage to even consider the proposal, how do we know the Bakugan themselves aren't planning our extinction as we speak?"
Andreas shook his head, he roughly stood up. "Extinction huh? Funny you mention that, considering you apes are driving yourselves towards that!"
"Excuse me!?"
The President banged his gavel. "Order!"
"You humans know nothing about 'order'." Andreas continued. "You thrive in chaos... chaos that you think you're in control of." He looked at Bones and Valerie while all eyes and cameras were on him. "Sorry guys, but this is getting us nowhere. Our combined races were going through an extinction-level event and guess what? We worked together, something you people fail to understand. You talk about Bakugan going rogue, it is my understanding that not all the countries in the world have a seat in the UN. What if they got their hands on Bakugan who shared the same ideals as them? Then what? Would you all retreat to your bunkers and let your country's citizens fend for themselves? I may be an alien to this land, but since reading up on your history, I have a read on how your bottom-feeding troglodytes operate." The entire room was silent as everyone continued to listen to Andreas' scathing words. "I'd like to remind all of you about the facts of the case. We have already established settlements on Neathia and Gundalia, who understood our plight. Earth is the only one being hesitant. Why would that be the case? Because we have something you lack but desperately want... power!"
Gasps were coming from the representatives. "You want all the power in the world, and you want your cronies to be the controllers. Because while all this was going down, who was down on the frontlines when your people needed you most? Not your world leaders, no they wouldn't dare do anything to dirty their expensive suits. Not the UN. And especially not your politicians. But who was down there? The brave men and women of your militaries, your law enforcement, civil servants. While every single person in this room was huddled up protecting themselves and their own families. Where was I, you ask? I was down there, fighting in the chaos. So, I think I understand the situation better than any of you 'representatives' can."
"So, you would live here with your Bakugan, ready to attack us at a moment's notice?"
"With the countermeasures we have planned, we want to make what Yukiko did impossible in the future. But that wouldn't come from you guys, would it? We have barren, uninhabited lands we can reside in. We just lack the 'permission'. But let's say we moved in anyway! Can your arbitrary laws stop us without battlers on your side? I highly doubt it!" he folded his arms. "On Fabrega we had laws pertaining to Bakugan use, we can provide Earth with the necessary deterrents to prevent such people from breaking laws with their Bakugan. And should that law be broken, I'll leave your 'world leaders' to come up with the necessary consequences."
"If we gave your people residence, you'd become more powerful than any nation in the world overnight!"
"To quote an Earth phrase. 'That sounds like a you problem.' And you'd sooner go extinct than ever stand a chance against us in warfare. So, you can reject our proposal, in which case we'd set down our lands away from your cities and rebuild there. And you Earthlings are free to visit should the need arise, but should any armed intervention be taken against us. We can and will fight back and hit you twice as hard!"
The president spoke up after banging his gavel. "Mr. Andreas Floure, is that a direct threat you just issued?"
"Why threaten? We aren't going to be attacking anyone and only limit our attacks to that specific country – or rather the specific people who ordered the attack. My point is you couldn't stop us if you tried. Hence why we are here, to extend an olive branch and to make up for the damage we caused. We're now law-bound to help you, but we offer it anyway. To build trust!"
"You really think that is enough to make up for the massacres you've caused?"
"Your two world wars, one 'cold war,' not to mention your species near countless acts of terrorism. Pot meet kettle? If we're comparing body counts, I think we'd come up short considering what your own species had done to itself!"
"You are out of order!"
"You never had order to begin with!" he spat. "And it's very clear you'd reject our proposal and make the same mistake, no matter how much we plead. Because you moronic, power-hungry, greedy, fame-obsessed, scum suckers would rather keep as much power to yourselves than work with a more powerful entity, then attempt to stab them in the back when the opportune moment arises. And before you say anything, this is my own opinion, neither Bones, Zaria nor Valerie have the same opinions I do. And I am laying down the facts as I see them."
"The fact is, Bakugan exist, people know they exist and some people will want to use them as 'weapons' for selfish, greedy reasons. The battlers and us are the only ones who will put a stop to that, not to mention we can create countermeasures to prevent such matters in the future. Basically, security for residence. Don't like it? Then we'll live here and isolate ourselves from your farce of an economy and world government and do you no harm. But should you knock on our door with a battering ram with demands? Then we will repay in kind. Fire nukes at us? Fine, but we've established homes on other planets, they will hear about your assault, and then you will have another invasion on your hands. Is that something you want to risk?"
While this was going on. In the deserts of Bakugan Valley. Kimiko was in her Reversion Form and was panting in exhaustion as she and Lycanine faced off against Helios and Spectra in their Reversion forms. "Come on... is that all you've got!?" Helios mocked.
Spectra smirked. "You must have a little bit of fight left in you."
Kimiko shook off the damage she suffered from the last attack. "I've got plenty! Reversion Ability! Ancient Burst!" The tiger stripes shone on her and Lycanine as their eyes gleamed red, reflecting their rage. A magma aura covered them before charging forward in unison.
Spectra's smirk turned serious as he watched the pair charge at them with a much higher power level. "Helios, intercept!" Spectra had a card prepared in his gauntlet. "Reversion Ability – Boltflare Breaker!" Helios hovered above him and flexed his arms backward as he powered up fiery orbs, surrounded by bolts of Darkus energy.
"NOW CATCH!" he flung many orbs in a rapid-fire fashion right at the Subterra duo.
"WHOA! Jump!" they both split off and leaped in the air, expertly dodging the beams fired at them, but regardless of the poor accuracy, Helios kept on firing over and over, kicking up dust that was starting to obscure the vision of both battlers.
Within the dust, Spectra had his eyes closed, they immediately opened when he sensed fast footsteps approaching him.
"GOTCHA!" Kimiko exclaimed as she went for a punch, but Spectra's tail caught her arm and held her above the ground.
"Not quite!" Spectra powered up his free right arm and aimed it at Kimiko's chest. "Ragnarok Buster!" the intense blast of Darkus energy engulfed her and sent her flying.
"AHHHHH!"
"NO! KIMIKO!" Lycanine exclaimed.
"PAY ATTENTION!" Helios roared as he shoved his claw into Lycanine's face, forcing him into the ground effortlessly, making a tiny crater. "You jumped in without a plan, and your partner paid the price. Just like you will! Viper Quasar!" His violent maw powered up with orange and black flames.
A tremendous explosion had completely rocked the entire landscape, making Mira and Gus cover themselves as a rapid storm of dust blew right through them.
Kimiko was sitting on her rear in her normal form while Lycanine bounced toward her and rolled at her feet. "Ow... sorry Lykie..." As the rapid dust cleared, she saw Spectra extending his hand toward her. "Ah... sorry, I got ahead of myself there."
Spectra replied while remaining in his Reversion Form. "You shouldn't let the opponent get in your head. But as far as your battling skills go. It's good enough for Castle Knight work." after she was helped up to her feet, Gus and Mira ran over to the pair.
"Keith, you should have held back!" Mira criticized.
"How would holding back help at all?" he asked before looking at his enhanced body. "This could be the level of the enemies we may fight in the future. The better prepared the younger battlers are, the better our future looks. Yukiko may be gone, but who knows when and where the next threat will come from?"
Kimiko despite the pain, faced Keith. "I appreciate it, it's also another reason why I'm joining the Castle Knights. To get stronger and to fight better against enemies, not only threats on Neathia but our whole universe."
Mira smiled as she faced Kimiko. "That's one lofty goal you have there."
She turned away. "It's more selfish than you think... I want to be strong enough... and maybe show my brother so I can finally snap him out of it."
A thought suddenly came to Gus. "Do you know where they are being held?"
Kimiko shook her head. "I had a chance to visit him in an enhanced prison hospital..." the wind blew past them as her silence hinted at her somber mood. "He's still the same... saying he'd get vengeance on the weak species that put him there." she sniffled. "Even when he's at the lowest point of his life... he can't let go of his damn pride. I'm scared that I've lost him forever."
Keith placed a hand on her shoulder as he transformed to his base form. "Perhaps it's better to focus on your own future. Your brother made his choice, if he chooses not to let go, then it's his choice and he'll suffer the benefits and consequences for it."
"I just wish I could have done more..."
"You can't make him see reason, and you shouldn't let him drag you down." He leaned down and stood eye-to-eye with her. "You're your own person, and you need to realize that. Follow your own path, and if your brother doesn't join you, then it's his loss."
She let out a deep sigh. "I-I need to think about this! Thanks for everything guys, I really, really appreciate it."
Spectra smiled. "You're strong enough on your own, we just need to 'fill in the cracks' so to speak."
Kimiko heard beeping from her gauntlet and saw it was from Neathia. Once she pressed the button to pick up, she saw Queen Fabia's face on the display. "WAAAH! QUEEN FABIA!?" she comically fumbled before fixing her pose to salute. "AH! I mean... What seems to be the problem ma'am!?"
Fabia chuckled. "You don't need to be so formal here, we're friends after all. I just wanted to let you know that your accommodation has been finalized. You're welcome to come over at any time."
"Ah, thanks so much! I'll come over to Neathia as soon as I can!"
"At ease, Kimiko Savtir." Fabia ended the call and Kimiko let out a sigh.
"Ok, I'm feeling pumped!" she happily clenched her fist. "One more round, Keith! I'm ready for you this time!"
Helios chuckled. "Heh, I like your spirit!"
"Hmm, while I'd like to test out my Reversion powers. You're already spent. We wouldn't want to send you to Neathia on a stretcher. How about a two-on-one, no Reversion forms? Gus, Mira? Would you like to assist?"
They both nodded while Kimiko slowly regretted her decision as sweat fell down the side of her face. She gulped but grabbed Lycanine and glared at Mira and Gus who prepared Vulcan and Wilda. "Well, here we go again!"
Within a small Fabregan-styled jet. Valerie was silent for a few hours after the meeting. She let out a sigh. "Well, that could have gone better. Even though I predicted your outburst," she said.
"S-sorry Lady Valarie. But those people don't know the truth."
"That's true. But perhaps you shouldn't have called them troglodytes and scum suckers."
Zaria chuckled. "I was about to burst out laughing."
Bones who sat next to her. "On the plus side, they have said they will consider our proposal."
Valerie had rolled up to Andreas. "Despite holding many Fabregan's confidence, you aren't ready to hold the leadership position, since you can't hold your tongue. Please refrain from such outbursts in the future!"
Andreas shamefully bowed. "I apologize Lady Valarie."
"Before you set up on New Vestroia... I'd like you to make a public apology. I know you don't like it, but we need as much good press as we can get... even if it is ingenuous."
Zaria smirked. "W-wait... are you asking him to lie!?"
Andreas sighed. "So, we're playing their game now? Lying like some bottom-feeding Earth politician?"
"Maybe don't lie but apologize for your outburst and be sincere about it. You're free to have your opinions... but you must remember, 'time and place' this isn't a combat field, Andreas."
Bones turned to Zaria. "So, Zaria. What did you learn from today?"
"Um... not to make fun of Humans to their faces?"
Bones shook his head. "Please take this seriously."
"Um... I guess always be diplomatic?"
"Half right, while being apathetic and sympathetic is beneficial, it shouldn't be the only solution. You want to inspire confidence with good leadership but need to have sharp claws to strike those who wrong you and your people. The key is knowing when and when not to show your claws, get that wrong... and it could have dire consequences. Could you come join me in the back for a bit, I'd like to talk with you in private."
"Um... sure."
Valarie could still feel Andreas sneaking looks at her. "Better get to that apology~!"
...
When Bones walked Zaria to the back of the passenger cabin, he sat down and gestured to the seat next to him. "So, what did you want to talk about?"
"Are you all right? You've been quiet since Dragness found her new partner."
Zaria shook her head. "I'm all right, I mean, who needs her, right?" she said while turning away. Bones remained silent before speaking up.
"You don't have to lie to me, Zaria."
She slumped and let her hands fall to her sides. "I dunno... I know that I was never the ideal partner for her, but it hurt me more than it did her. Don't get me wrong... I want her to be happy, but what's left for me? Boring meetings?"
"You miss battling?"
"Kinda... I just miss feeling that rush... and well... knowing my incompatibility issues and my new duties... that's not happening any time soon. Xaramesi would make a better leader for the Alursians. If I can't even bond well with a Bakugan? How is that going to make me look in front of the rest of the Alursians?"
He put his hand on her shoulder. "There's more to leading than frivolous displays of power. I have a feeling that you'll make a great predecessor."
"I dunno... Lions never led before. Dragons were always powerful, and Foxes were crafty thinkers. Our race's pride has always been their downfall. But I've got little since Dragness left. That's why you chose me, huh?"
He shook her head. "I didn't choose you for your 'broken pride'. I chose you because I think you are good for Alursia's future."
Zaria gazed out of the window as they were passing over the nightly skies over Bakugan City. "I hope you're right..."
Three Years Later
Fireworks were blazing throughout the Stadiums of Bakugan City. Within the Stadium, the fans were cheering, waving flags, and holding up signs. The rebuilt stadium had a transparent energy dome surrounding it, pieced together with blue energy triangles.
Within the center of the large battlefield, the center of the field opened to reveal a floating platform rising from within a hole. A Fabregan with blonde hair, dressed in a fancy suit emerged with a fancy microphone in his hand. He started to speak while his voice projected outward. "GOOOOOOD MOOORNING BATTLE FANS!" The fans roared louder in their anticipation for the first live battle in 3 years. On the Southern end of the upper stadium was a canopy that was surrounded by solar roofs and black tinted windows.
Inside were some Fabregan and Neathian science technicians. Many of them were looking over several floating monitors that were looking over the conditions of the battlefield and the stadium. "Security is all ok, sir! Nothing to report outside the gates." one person said.
A feminine Fabergan turned her seat. "Nothing on the interior as well."
Outside of the stadium, there were three Vulture Alursians that flapped over and around the entire stadium, each was equipped with a Darkus Ravenoid that was flying along with them. One of them radioed in as he pressed the communicator in his ear. "Nothing to report from the skies."
A human technician within the canopy reported their sighting. "Our Vulture Scouts report nothing from the air. The area is secure."
The person stood in the middle, dressed in a clean, black suit with black sunglasses over his eyes. His bald head gave a presence of authority. He turned around. "Good... I trust this is to your liking, Miss?" a young woman stood up off a chair, and whipped her long raven hair that fell into two styled 'hair drills' that transitioned into purple highlights. Her developed body was clear to see as her chest slightly swayed when getting up. She opened her golden eyes. Standing next to her was an older woman dressed as a maid with a Darkus Atchibee by her shoulder.
"This is the first Stadium battle in years," she replied. "But in the end, the decision isn't up to me yet, but depending on the result, I'll talk to the right people."
"Of course, Miss Rise."
A matured Cera smiled. "Stop putting pressure on yourself, the Bakugan Battle League has been doing all the right things. This exhibition battle will be proof of all your efforts."
"If I should be so bold, we would have liked you to be out there."
"When I said I retired... I meant it." Lunaris leaped onto her shoulders. "And my dear partner respects my decision."
"Besides. I do enough fighting on New Vestroia." Lunaris said. "Teaching the younglings is troublesome at times but it is a better use of my time."
Cera walked to the front of the canopy. "This was three years in the making. I expect everything to go off without a hitch."
Down in the stadium, the man in the fancy suit finished his introduction. "And now the moment you've all been waiting for!" the battlefield went dark as spotlights shone at the east end of the battlefield. "He's been the most active battler in Interspace for the last three years, rose the ranks to become one of the strongest Aquos battlers today." as he said his introduction, large bubbles appeared and were harmlessly floating among the audience with many kids shooting mermaid shaped bubble guns. "And his Bakugan is quite the looker too," he said winking at the audience. "Introducing Jax Tiiiita Breeeeeeon... and his partner Marrrrrveeeeellion!"
Suddenly a wave appeared over the north-east of the stadium. The fans underneath were cheering, despite their section turning into a splash zone. On top of the wave was Aquos Marvellion, surfing on her belly while a figure stood on her back. He was light-skinned with short blonde hair that was styled and swept upwards. He wore goggles over his eyes. His body was covered in a dark blue and black wetsuit, only exposing his hands and feet. Over the suit was a light blue denim sleeveless jacket with blue shorts below that. The wave crashed into the ground as Marvellion's hand sprung and winked before performing an additional flip. She soon retreated to her ball form, allowing Jax to effortlessly catch her.
Within the audience an older Leiya had her arms folded as she could see a row of Human school girls cheering his name. "Tch, what a show-off."
"Eh, don't blame him for your jealousy!" next to her, she saw Maia, who apart from maturing was also wearing a black t-shirt with a flaming skull on it. "You know how popular he is. You tsundere's always make the move last."
"STOP CALLING ME THAT!" Leiya comically roared with blushes on her cheeks. "OK, but I'm a little jealous... I never thought that him finding the right partner would do wonders for him. He looks like a completely different person, but deep down, he's still the same lovable fool."
"'Lovable' you say?" Maia teased, prompting Leiya to throw her empty drink cup at her. "Hehe, sorry, you just make it too easy to tease."
"And now... the famous Dragon duo who have all but decimated the competition in Interspace." By the West end of the Stadium, flames were shooting out from the ground. "The #1 ranked battler in Interspace. You know em, you love em." an explosion rocked from the west while a roar echoed through the entire stadium, shaking the area. The flames dissipated behind black smoke, and a standing Dragonoid was seen through the smoke with a figure standing beside it.
Then when the smoke faded, the figure was revealed to be wearing a red belly shirt with a black fishnet vest underneath, going further than her shirt sleeves. Her hands were covered by black and maroon striped, fingerless gloves that stretched to her elbows. She wore torn black jeans, and black boots. Her brown eyes opened, and her short, dark green hair whipped behind her with a single red highlight on her right side. "Introducing LUUNAAA BREEEE and her partner... DRAAAAAGNESSS!"
Dragness appeared through the smoke, walking side-by-side with her partner. "Ugh... these fans... This is more attention than that Blazeon gave me." Dragness complained.
Luna smirked. "It comes with being the best. Never thought it would be like this though." She heard a cacophony of fans chanting her name over and over. "I'm more interested in our opponent."
"Exactly, Marvellion and I hadn't had the chance to cross swords before. Now I finally get the chance!" she transformed into her ball form and landed in Luna's palm. The announcer leaped onto a raised platform.
"This exhibition battle marks the start of the Bakugan Battle League! For this battle, there will be no gate cards and no field changes. Just pure, unabated combat!"
"I like that," Dragness said.
Luna looked over at Jax who was waving to the fans and she came up with an idea. "HEY, JAX!" she exclaimed, immediately getting his attention. "What do you say we give these guys a show they won't forget!?"
"Ohhhh." Marvellion hummed. "I'm picking up what you're putting down. What do you say, Jax?"
Jax tossed out Marvellion, and as she stood, bubbles formed around her. "If you mean Reversion, then..." A jet of water engulfed Jax, and when the geyser of water dissipated, both Jax and Marvellion were in their Reversion forms.
"WHOA! I know I said unabated combat... but Jax and his songstress Marvellion are going out of the gate with their full power. How will Luna and Dragness respond?"
Luna silently tossed out Dragness, the display on her red and pink colored BakuMeter lit up. Luna and Dragness were surrounded by raging pink flames. The magenta flames lit up the entire stadium amping up the crowd even further.
As soon as the raging flames relaxed, Dragness' pink feelers reached to the ground while she grew an extra set of rounded wings. The inside of the wings had rounded accents instead of pink splotches. The pink oval core on her chest transformed into a diamond while her tail ended in a loosely shaped heart. Her eyes turned a reptilian pink.
Luna's appearance predictably changed too as she grew dragon armor on her chest, arms, and legs. Her feet turned to three claws talons while the end of her arms had red scales peppered around them. She grew similar wings and tail to Dragness and her eyes turned pink as well. Dragness's diamond core appeared on her chest too. After the transformation, Luna let out a deep breath, allowing smoke to puff from her nose.
"Whoa... gotta say, this feeling never gets old," Luna said.
"It is in a Bakugan's nature to fight and evolve. But you have something else... and that's why I chose you as my partner three years ago."
"Well, if it's a fight that everyone wants... who am I to say no?"
"The best Battler in Bakugan interspace, apparently. Now, let's go out and win, partner!"
Jax looked at his transformed arms. "Still get that intense rush every time we transform!" Jax said.
"Like a hot espresso shot in the morning! Also, caffeine is bad for you, kids..." Marvellion quipped while looking into a floating camera.
"CAN YOU BELIEVE IT!? We're about to kick things off with a Reversion Battle! Hold on to your seats folks." a translucent barrier had formed in front of the Front row while the upper audience was protected by a curved variant of the same barrier.
Luna and Dragness began the charge with pink flames trailing them while Garfield did the same, surfing on the water in front of his feet while Marvellion flew beside him. They both clashed resulting in an explosion of flames and water.
Luna and Jax had their right wrists crossing like swords and Dragness and Marvellion were in the same stance. Both teams immediately shot back preparing their next plans of attack.
"I... hate you... SO... damn... much!" Blazeon said as he was watching Luna and Jax's battle on a mini-tv while it looked like they were on a beach. Cameron who had slightly grown muscles and longer hair, tied in a ponytail was carrying pieces of lumber on his right shoulder.
"Huh? You say something, buddy?"
"I'm saying it should be US out there!" he roared while raging in his ball form. "The eyes of the world watching us do what we do best! We're the best Dragon combo out there, not... Luna and that... admittedly sexy Dragonoid."
Cameron chuckled as he rested the lumber on the sand. "Hey, we're plenty strong as a team. But like Andreas told me way back when. 'I need to grow stronger as a person, not just as a battler.'"
Blazeon hovered up to him. "And I understand that... but damn. This break from battling is so unlike you! You're not going to retire forever, are you?"
Cameron shook his head. "Nope... but, maybe it's time to give others the limelight for a change. Being hounded by reporters gets old, fast."
"Speak for yourself. I handled that late-night talk show interview! Now leave me! I'm too engaged in a battle that WE should be fighting right now."
"Haha, maybe some other time."
"HEY!" Cameron turned and saw Sapphire marching toward him. "What did I tell you about slacking off!?"
He quickly picked up the sand-dusted lumber and was pacing toward the large wooden building that was being built.
...
He entered the home being constructed and looked at the many Fabregans who were building the large home. There were smaller wooden homes that were already built nearby, forming a sort of island neighborhood with dirt paths going deeper into the island. Right by the center was a large mechanical tower with a dimension controller hovering atop it.
He rested the lumber on the side and a Monkey Alursian hung by his tail and picked up one of the long blocks of wood. Cameron wiped the sweat from his brow. "Here." he heard Sapphire behind him, and she was holding out a water-skin. He un-capped it and was slightly gulping the water before he handed it back to Sapphire.
"Things are progressing nicely," Cameron said. Sapphire sighed and looked away. "What's wrong?"
"Rebuilding the Jaya clan has been the hardest thing I've had to do... and my father isn't even here to see it."
Cameron's expression turned sad as well, he still held a lot of guilt for what happened, even during the last three years. "It's my fault, isn't it?" he said. "I came here to learn more about your ways, I even wanted to apologize. And the second I arrived; he lost it... Just say it. I broke up your family, didn't I?"
Sapphire remained silent. "You didn't choose to be human; my sister fancied you, chose to bond with you and you reciprocated her feelings." she gazed at him seriously. "Tell me... if you knew ahead of time that this would happen? Would you still pursue her?"
Cameron remained silent and let out a long sigh. "A loaded question there?"
"A question nonetheless. Now answer it!" she demanded.
Cameron held his arm. "It's complicated... if I knew me being here would cause this much damage..."
"So, you'd break my sister's heart, just to protect your ego, and 'keep our family together'?!"
He shook his head. "N-no, it's not like that! I... I love her... It's just... I can't help but feel responsible for this. You two lost your mother, and now your father is living in Gundalia. Away from his family."
Sapphire's arm tightened into a fist. "If you weren't my sister's mate, I would have slapped you by now!" she looked into his eyes. "The past should be left where it is, there's no changing it. Our father hating you is just going to have to be something you'll have to deal with. Do you want my sister? Then that's the price you're going to have to pay! A lot of things are changing, hell I even allowed Alursians onto our sacred lands for Jaya's sake. And my father will hate me for it. But if that's a sin to him, then I'll just carry that weight on my shoulders, because our survival matters more than his feelings and 'old traditions'. So, what are you going to choose? To obey my father who isn't even blood related to you because you think that's what we need? Or are you going to become a man, carry the weight, and make my sister the happiest Fabregan on Earth?"
Sapphire's words hit him hard, he was worried that he was breaking up their family, despite all the changes happening around them. Despite all this, Zavanna was happy, the happiest he had ever seen her. He had been looking for a way to escape the guilt, rather than accepting it and moving on. He was scared that he'd never be forgiven for capturing Zavanna's heart, but if he truly loved her, that was something he needed to accept. Zavanna stuck with him despite her father's words, why shouldn't he do the same?
"Man... I'm such an idiot..."
"You're just young and probably have a lot of things running through your mind. But at the end of the day, you have a responsibility to protect my sister, not just physically, but emotionally as well. Is that something you're ready for? Despite the trials and tribulations that will come your way?"
Cameron looked directly at her and delivered a firm nod. "Of course... I realize I've been selfish, swimming in my own self-guilt. Zavanna stuck with me, and she's suffered the consequences for that. I must do the same if I am worthy of being with her."
Sapphire closed her eyes and nodded. "Perhaps there's hope for this 'broken' family yet." She turned around. "I'm glad you've come to that decision. But you are wrong about one thing... I think you are already worthy of her. I just needed to make sure you were ready to take on the responsibility that comes with courting her. And with that... I give you, my blessing."
"Your blessing? What do you-" he finally caught onto what Sapphire was saying and his face instantly turned red. "WHAAAAT! ARE YOU SAYING WHAT I THINK YOU'RE SAYING!?"
"You humans really need everything spelled out for you? Yes, you have my blessing to marry my sister."
"B-b-but we're still young..."
"Then wait till you are of proper age, then. Oh, and I want a minimum of three nieces and or nephews."
"W-what!?"
Cameron was hugged from behind by his beloved and as he turned his head. "U-um... Zavanna!?"
"Hello Cameron!" she grew concerned when she saw his worried expression "Hmm, is something wrong?" He immediately stepped away from her while nervously sweating.
"I-I just remembered something... I've got to... climb a tree to... get coconuts... or something! I GOTTA GO!" He sped off, leaving Sapphire to sigh disappointedly while Zavanna tilted her head.
"What were you two talking about?"
"The future and he suddenly got skittish. I still have no idea what you see in him."
Zavanna folded her arms, "You wouldn't understand." She looked away from her sister and pointed her nose upward.
"I don't, but I know enough. He's reliable for the most part, if not a little immature. But with each passing day. I am questioning your decision less and less. His Bakugan on the other hand..."
Scorchiree opened on Zavanna's shoulder. "That we can agree on, he's acting more like an uncouth human than Bakugan."
"But it is nice, having this long break for us. I wonder how the others are doing?"
Meanwhile, within a large village situated in New Vestroia, Andreas was standing within a large training battlefield, he was sprinting toward his opponent. The person he was facing had emerald eyes with long violet hair tied in a long ponytail tied in a bow. She was dressed in a mostly black outfit while her arms remained exposed. When allowing Andreas to charge toward him. Andreas went for a punch but he found that his fist travelled over her shoulder, just brushing her ear. He found himself being flipped over and landed on his back.
"Now!" he exclaimed. From the corner of the girl's eye, Andreas' Gleamroller appeared behind her. Her eyes grew, and she leaped upward allowing his fist to crash into the ground. A large green arrow was falling from the sky toward Gleamroller.
"HERE COMES RADION!" Gleamroller stepped backward as Radion punched the ground, sending tremendous shockwaves. At that time both Akira and Radion charged at Andreas, faster than they expected. While Gleamroller was able to block Radion's punch, Akira swung her leg which dazed Andreas.
"That's right!" Aisha yelled from a few benches where they and a small number of other people were watching their bout. "Hit'em hard and fast!" next to her Tammy was worriedly watching the battle. "Hey, you know this is just friendly sparring, right?"
"Yes, I know... but do you know I worried I was during that war? I was watching the whole thing on the um... 'broadcasts' and then I didn't see much of Andreas. So, I was scared that something happened to him."
Aisha smiled in response. "Can't help but worry about those we love, y'know. I get where you're coming from."
Tammy looked forward. "And he's been going through a lot, managing the village has never been easy for him. He's been overworking himself. I just wish he'd give himself a break."
"Then you've got to be assertive, girl. Make him take a day off if you can, I'm sure he's got other people that can handle his duties for at least a couple of hours?"
Tammy thought for a moment. "Maybe... but I don't want to get on his bad side. Things have been going ok, but because he works so hard, he's barely rested."
Someone sat in between them and it was revealed to be Jayden. "Sorry, but I couldn't help but hear your predicament."
Aisha glared at him. "Jayden, you better not be thinking..."
"Oh, come on, a little jealousy didn't hurt anyone." he looked at Tammy with a smirk. "We just pretend to get cozy, and when Andreas gets jealous. He'll realize how valuable you are."
Tammy shook her head. "No way, I couldn't do that to Andreas, especially after his last relationship. Plus, he's really kind to me."
Aisha leaned back. "I didn't want to believe it; I mean I figured he would grow tired of all this and just snap eventually. But I'm glad he didn't."
"No way!" Tammy exclaimed. "He's really been working extremely hard. He wanted to separate our tribe from all the traditions of the past and get all of us to focus on working together to survive. Some other Fabregan tribes have also decided to make their home on New Vestroia."
"What about the dimension controllers?" Jayden asked. "Won't that be a problem?"
"Nope, Andreas had help from some Vestals who've decided to live here permanently," she explained. "They have managed to lower their effective range to only our village limits. Making our village safe from Bakugan, and preventing our influence from disrupting their way of life." Tammy swooned longingly. "He's really changed, and those that don't want to live on the other planets... Andreas has given them a chance, to forge their own lives. Along with the Bakugan."
The three looked out onto the battlefield to see Akira standing over Andreas. Her sword pointed at her chin as a slight smirk danced across her lips, Radion hovered above as she blew a raspberry at him. "Sounds like someone needs a little more practice!" Radion teased.
"Radion... what did I say about humility?" Akira asked glancing at her partner, Radion responded by lightly tapping her fist to her head while letting her tongue fall out.
...
Akira, Aisha, and Jayden were standing behind Andreas while Tammy stuck close to him, hooking her arm with his, and her tail was wrapped around his midsection.
He was touring them around his village, mostly comprised of huts built with what looked like scraps of metal and wood, though they were in the process of being upgraded. There were some Bakugan that have chosen to assist in the construction effort.
"Welcome to New Kishu Village. This is the main plaza; we don't plan on expanding much. The Bakugan we've talked to have allowed us more space... but we'd rather not use up more than we need." Andreas explained. "And in exchange, they can protect us from any threats... Bakugan or otherwise."
"You really convinced Drago and the others to protect you?"
Andreas raised an eyebrow. "Who said anything about asking Dragonoid? I had a chat with your friends, Ms. Rise, and Mr von Hertzon. They've allowed us to lend their Bakugan to train some of the Bakugan native to this area of New Vestroia."
Akira folded her arms. "No wonder Cera is so silent."
Jayden smiled. "I mean have you seen how hot she is now? But she's incredibly busy. Heh, even tried asking her out once."
Aisha popped up next to him. "Lemme guess. Another swing and a miss."
"Weren't you involved with Zaria?" Akira asked.
Jayden sighed and scratched his head. "We're on a break. She's... kinda got her hands full with managing the Alursians."
They stopped in the middle of the village where they saw a pair of stone statues depicting both Andreas and Gleamroller. "Well, well... isn't that vain of you!" Aisha teased while looking at the statue. "WE didn't get statues built of us after saving New York."
Bearth hopped on her shoulder. "Saved is stretching it a bit, considering how much of New York was left standing."
"I mean yeah... but- no you're right..."
Andreas looked at the statues. "No matter what happens, that day will live long in the memory of the humans, Fabregans, and Alursians. Hopefully, now we can at least march on to our own path of survival." Andreas looked over at the trio. "Speaking of... I know that Cera isn't here. But where are the other two?"
"Well since we know that the Quantiverse is a thing. Garfield's become obsessed with it. Don't even see him around anymore." Jayden said.
Aisha sadly looked down. "I can get a hold of him sometimes. But he also sounds tired all the time. I hope he's taking care of himself."
"Right," Andreas replied. "And Cameron?"
"Where do you think?" Akira sarcastically questioned. "He's on the Jaya islands trying to convince Zavanna's family that he's the right fit for her. Since the end of that war, he's spent the last 3 Summers going there."
"But have you seen how much it's helped!?" Aisha swooned. "He's taller and he's got muscles now,"
"And no doubt a future wife, so you can stop drooling over him."
Andreas' eyes raised. "Huh? Is she serious?"
"Technically they haven't gotten that far," Aisha said. "But I'm taking bets on when it will happen."
Andreas cleared his throat. "Well, you guys can just wait here, I still must get your accommodations sorted out. If you guys can wait here for me."
Tammy sweetly waved at them with her free hand. "Heh, those two are cozy," Jayden said. "Never imagined he'd mellow out so much."
There was a fountain close to the statues and Akira sat by the rocks. "Did we ever find out what happened to the Fabregans that were captured in the war?"
Jayden was the first to speak. "Believe me, I tried to find out. All I know is that Yukiko was taken in by the UN. Last I heard she was in some place called 'The Hague' but she's been transferred. To where... I have no idea. As for the rest... Valerie requested that they face prison for 2 years. Depending on their behavior during their sentence, they could get the option for rehabilitation. So, they built a prison in a desert somewhere for this purpose, and wouldn't you know it? The Vestals help build it..."
"As for some of the others... well I've got photos."
"No way, really?" Aisha sped over to him and he showed them a picture of himself, Phoenix with his usual pout while Xaramesi and Sakuya stood side by side with their fingers linked, Xaramesi's cat was resting upon the halfling's head. They looked like they were in a damp forest.
"Xaramesi had this crazy idea of going on a trip exploring Earth. This is of us though our trek in The Amazon. Some Alursian Tribes made their home there, and they seemed to be getting on well. Haha, and I visited the Fabregan research center."
He showed a photo of himself hovering in zero gravity, hovering beside Zaria, and Phoenix, and a smiling Valerie holding up a peace sign. "The moonbase unveiling happened last year. Phoenix is the director of research up there."
"NO FAIR!" Aisha exclaimed. "I want to walk onto the moon. We've been on so many adventures, I'm surprised we haven't battled in space yet."
Radion hovered above the phone screen. "MAAAAN! I'm so jealous! I wanna have a brawl in zero gravity! I've got wings so no one will touch me!"
Akira smirked. "Your wings won't be that effective, since there's no air in space!"
"HUH!?"
"So, you've been seeing more of the world huh?" Bearth asked.
Jayden smirked. "Well, I don't want to brag but, there are a few places I still must cross off the list. What about it ladies? Want to come with?"
Radion opened in front of Akira. "C'mon sis, we get to travel the world, and I'm sure if we ask Cera very, very nicely."
"Can we not abuse our friend like an endless wallet?" Akira chided. "She's not even of age to inherit her family fortune yet. How would it look if she spent a bunch of money before she could even gain greater access to it?"
"Sorry, Akira." Radion and Jayden apologized.
Akira looked around and saw people of different species getting along, when she took a step something bumped into her leg. When she looked down, she saw a yellow-furred fox pup that fell on its butt.
"Huh? Is that a fox? That is dyed blonde?"
A bright light covered the fox, making the three cover their eyes. They saw it grow to stand on two feet where it was the same height as an average six-year-old girl. She was dressed in a red and yellow accented robe that covered her shoulders. Her silky orange hair stretched out into two side ponytails, her eyes were a bright yellow, and she had three large fox tails stretched out from her back side.
When the former fox rubbed the dust out of her eyes, she looked up at the three humans. "Eh... eh...eh?"
"WINONA!" the three saw a much older fox woman with looser robes, ears atop her head, loose orange hair, and two tails rushing over to them. The three brawlers' blood ran cold as they instantly thought back to the same Fox Alursian. "Winona... what did I tell you about running off?" she saw the three in front of her. "Sorry, I hope my daughter hasn't-"
"YUKIKO!?"
The three of them got into battle stances as their Bakugan hovered over them. The smaller fox girl hid behind her mother. "STAND DOWN!"
They saw Andreas rushing over to the group with Tammy tailing behind. "Um... stand down... can you see Yukiko in front of us?" Aisha questioned.
"She's not Yukiko!" Andreas said. "That's her aunt!"
"HUH!?"
The older fox woman bowed her head in shame. Akira glanced at Andreas. "We could use an explanation."
Andreas eyed the older fox woman. "Mrs. Kin-Anne?" she nodded.
"They are your allies?" she said as she bowed before them. "Apologies, my Niece has caused a lot of damage; it stands to reason that you would have questions. I'll answer them to the best of my ability."
...
They were sitting in the lobby of a small motel. Andreas and Tammy sat next to Kin-Anne, and Winona, who was very confused.
"Soooo..." Jayden started. "You're related to an evil fox woman?"
"Um... she wasn't always like that... but we are related. We are the Ravenwind Fox clan, we used to be the leading authority on Alursia. The clan was led by my sister Ran-Seki, with her daughter, Yukiko to inherit the clan."
"And so you two-?" Akira started.
"Yes, I am Ran-Seki's blood-related sister, and Winona here is my daughter. But... she's only half fox."
"Half?!" Aisha questioned.
Winona raised her arm. "Yes, I'm Fox and human! No ears, see?" she pointed to the top of her head where the trio noticed that Winona didn't have the same fox ears sticking out from her head as her mother did.
Andreas sighed. "You don't need to know the details of why she's a half-breed. But as you can imagine, the chaos that Yukiko caused them and all fox-kin for that matter to be looked at with... hostility. Despite the best efforts of High Leader Bones and Lady Zaria, they wouldn't be accepted by any tribe on Earth. Alursian or Fabregan. So their little family came to us. After speaking with the people of our village and explaining the situation, we've decided to let them live here for the time being."
Tammy was nuzzling Winona while the little fox giggled. "And this little one is so adorable! How could we turn them away?"
Akira looked at Kin-Anne. "If Andreas is willing to trust you, I see no reason to think you harbor any ill will toward us. Cameron mentioned that Yukiko's mother influenced her decision-making."
"Ran-Seki's passing was hard on all of us... And thanks to that Fabregan king, we didn't even have time to mourn. I just hope wherever my niece is, she's healing."
"Thanks for smoothing things over," Aisha said. "If it makes you feel any better. I hope people will eventually warm up to foxes one day."
"Just knowing that there are humans like you three out there, gives me hope. Hopefully, then we can start to repair the reputation of the Ravenwind clan."
"One more question!" Aisha said. "Your little girl can turn into a fox?"
Winona perked up and a bright light engulfed the whole desk. Suddenly, Winona's fox form was in front of Aisha's face. "AWWW, so cute."
"Winona!" Kin-Anne scolded. "Not on the table, remember? We have guests..."
Winona whined and Aisha was softly stroking her. "Only some Fox Alursians can turn into actual foxes. I believe you humans call it 'magic'? Winona inherited the ability from me. As for my husband, he's currently helping with the village. If we are going to live here, it makes sense to give back to the place sheltering us."
Aisha smiled. "Well since we're going to be here, perhaps you could tell us more. If you'd like to that is."
Kin-Anne smiled. "I'd love to."
Aisha looked into the eyes of fox Winona. "Besides, I'd like to spend more time with your adorable, little Winona."
...
Andreas was seen standing at the top of the central watchtower while looking at the dark, multicolored black sky of New Vestroia. "I've never thought that there could be a world out there only Bakugan could live," Gleamroller commented.
"Yeah, and I must say. It wasn't easy to convince the group of Bakugan to let us live here. Good thing you put out a compelling case."
He heard someone climbing the ladder behind him, he leaned on the railing as he saw Akira joining him at the top of the tower. "Why are you here? You're a guest."
"I know," Akira said while she eyed the night sky. "But it is a really nice place you've built here? But I want to know... how did you convince the Bakugan to let you live here?"
"It does help that the local Wontu are a bit naive. But we didn't deceive them, and we protect them from any predator Bakugan, and they keep us safe from any non-Bakugan threats that make their way over here. Minx Elfin and Marucho spoke up for us, so that was the main factor."
"So, what about the rest of the Fabregans? Any links with them?"
"Well... the Jayas have completely cut themselves off, naturally. We've had help from some of the Aeson tribes scattered on Earth. Valerie has given us some support as well. The goal is to become self-sufficient, whether that will happen, still needs to be determined."
"You should give yourself a break." she before standing next to him. "It's going to burn you out, eventually."
Andreas sighed. "Everyone says that, but everyone here is relying on me. Even that fallen fox clan cause no one else will take them in."
Akira leaned back. "Fine, since you're so hell-bent on getting this place up and running. I'll help you out." Andreas looked back at her in slight shock. "Don't act so surprised. Everyone is still reeling from the invasion 3 years ago. But things are calming down, it's Summer vacation and I have nothing better to do." Akira extended her hand.
"We'll work those Wontu into shape in no time!" Radion confidently said.
Andreas took her hand and shook it firmly. "I'll be in your debt."
"Consider it a freebie. You've got enough debts to settle." Akira stepped back.
"Catch ya on the flip-flop!" Radion cheered as Akira backflipped off the watch tower. She gracefully landed on her feet and saw Aisha waiting for her, hand in hand with young Winona.
"Aisha? Is something wrong?"
"I heard that you and Radion are planning to stay here over the summer."
"Yes... and?"
"When were you going to tell us?"
"Eventually. But I think I'm just looking for a change of pace, I was thinking about spending some time outside of the city. I still must talk it over with Mother, but-"
"Would you like company?"
"Uh?"
Aisha's expression turned confident. "Yeah, if we're training Bakugan. We can do a good cop, bad cop thing! You train the hell out of them, and I'll lift their spirits."
"I wanna see Bakugan being trained!" Winona exclaimed, holding her hand up.
"See! Even little Winona wants to help. And how can you say no to this cute face!?" Aisha said putting the fox halfbreed on top of her shoulders
Akira smiled. "I mean I'm not going to stop you. So why not? Not to mention the unification treaty is happening here in a few months. It wouldn't be a bad idea to travel around New Vestroia for a bit. Having a travel companion would be nice."
"God! Why can't you just say: 'Oh Aisha, I'd love for you to come with me!'?"
Akira cringed slightly. "Would I ever say that?"
"No... but it would be nice once in a while. Don't be so serious and 'Tsundere' all the time."
"You're starting to sound like my sister now. But when I try and train the Wontu, would you like to come with me?" she asked with a genuine smile.
Aisha nodded and wrapped her shoulder around her companion. "That's more like it," she said with a wink. "Now let's get something to eat, I'm starving!"
5 Months Later
"It's tighter than I thought," Cameron complained low, putting a hand to his neck, trying to loosen his tie without making the attire look unkempt.
"Don't ruin it man, you look pretty spiffy," Jayden whispered. "Not in front of the ladies now."
Cameron looked over to his side, Zavanna's smile indicating Jayden's testimony. He sighed in defeat, not wanting to feel embarrassed.
"Could they have put us in something more casual than this?" Aisha grumbled, looking at her heel. "I don't do well in this wear. I don't know how you do it, Cera."
The Darkus battler whipped her hair. "Takes practice." She chimed.
"Easy for you to say, you've used to this."
"Quiet, everyone. We're on." Akira hushed, getting all their attention.
It was a bright day, brighter due to the two suns in the sky. One was only a fraction of the other, but they were so close that it was hard to tell from looking directly at it.
New Vestroia, the birthplace of all Bakugan outside of Gundalian and Neathian origin. And recently documented Fabrega and Alursia. The lush life that was on the planet had such greenery and a natural environment that was untainted by the touches of man.
However, today was an exception.
Standing on a massive plateau, numerous Bakugan watched from afar. Those with aerial capabilities got closer for a view, though they kept their distance so they wouldn't get in the way.
Standing in the center of the open plateau were the Battle Brawlers, Neo Battle Brawlers, Zavanna, Keith, Gus, Nurzak, Fabia, Andreas, Valerie, Bones, and Zaria. Standing around them were all their Bakugan in their true forms, their statures dwarfing the congregated guests at their feet.
Each one wore apparel that was from their own world's highest class. Expensive suits and dresses made up the humans, while Keith and Gus wore similar attire, albeit more sleek according to Vestal's designers. Fabia wore her eloquent queen's dress, and Nurzak wore his traditional robes. The Fabregans and Alursians had tailored dresses and suites to better fit their standards, while at the same time highlighting what their home worlds were like.
Andreas and Valerie wore a suit and dress respectively, but their patterns were similar to Andreas's special ops suit with hexagonal patterns.
Zaria's had more flare, having accents and décor like a reef around her neck, and a bramble-like tiara on her head to signify the wild luster of Alursia. Her dress, while crimson, went down to a darker shade with sparkling stars.
"Can someone remind me why we're here of all places?" Jayden complained.
"It was determined by everyone that New Vestroia was the best location without possible interference of this event," Fabia noted. "It may seem mundane, but it makes sense since all of us are bound by Bakugan."
"She's right." Drago nodded. "The Bakugan also have a say since we're also partaking in this. I believe it's fair."
"I still can't believe that I lived to see this day! Oh, how time flies." Preyas mused.
"It certainly does put a lot into perspective." Angelo chimed. He then jumped and flipped through the air, his alter-ego, Diablo, taking his place. "Let's get this over with! I hate standing around!"
"Yeah, is there gonna be an afterparty?" Elfin chimed him.
Marucho nervously chuckled. "We'll get to that later guys, okay?"
"Hey, Runo. You okay?" Dan asked, looking directly at her.
"Huh?" Runo looked at him, nodding. "Yeah, Dan. I'm just fine. I know how important this is, I'll be just fine."
Dan was initially worried, but he looked down at the ring around Runo's finger, the symbol of the trust and faith the two had in each other. For better or for worse, he would put his faith in her. "Yeah, okay."
Shun and Alice looked at each other, smiling fondlingly. Skyress and Alpha Hydranoid were resolute as they watched over their dearest partners.
"Hard to believe it, Cera," Lunaris noted, looking at the vast view the plateau offered.
Cera was lost in thought. She remembered how not long ago, she had wanted to set foot onto his pure land. 'I always wanted to go to New Vestroia…' She'd be lying if she said she wasn't happy. By all accounts, she did get her wish. Though unlike before, it wasn't a means to escape Earth's ugliness. If anything, Earth needed them now more than ever.
She took one look around, seeing the friends that she'd made. The ones that she couldn't be without anymore. A soft smile crossed her face with a satisfied hum. 'Oh well, guess beggars can't be choosers. This…will suffice.'
"…" Garfield was silent. Standing in his sapphire suit with a purple tie, he didn't utter a single word. Though he looked alright for a 15-year-old, there was an air around him that made it feel like he was ready to take on the world.
He felt a hand on his shoulder, making him turn towards Aisha, glad in her mahogany dress, her hair styled with a swirled bun. "Hey, Garfield. You're okay?"
He gave a slight nod. "Yeah, I'm good."
"You sure?" Her tone carried a hint of worry and for a good reason. The past few years have really been a roller coaster. She knew that Garfield was talking to people and getting help, but with the reformations being done, being in constant contact was hard, especially when Garfield only answered half the time. She was lucky he got the notification for this mandatory event.
Though Garfield at least seemed more diligent. He looked confidently at her and nodded. "I'm okay, Aisha. Can't look so concerned, especially with everyone watching." He said in a serious tone. "…but I appreciate it."
Aisha blinked, surprised at how collective and serious he was. She knew now that she was almost 18 that there was a lot of weight on their shoulders.
"He's right. We're live now. Everyone ready." Akira stated.
Several pods encompassed them from above, the drones going in orbit as their lenses were capturing the numerous Bakugan and species on the plateau. The visual was clear from every physical and holographic monitor on the four planets.
On Earth, everyone was tuned in from their homes. Those working took breaks to gather for the ceremony that was going down.
In Fabregan and Alursian-based settlements across the world. All eyes were tuned in on the noteworthy individuals, whom many were noting were being documented into history archives still. Archives that would be shared equally for all nations and planets alike.
With Earth, Vestal, Gundalia, and Neathia signaling their solid communication, Fabia had to give credit. 'So this is the expanse of Vestal technology.' She was still getting accustomed to their technology as well, given how Neathia had a vastly different, more organic system of analysis.
A medium-sized drone silently drifted down to eye level, capturing them in a panel view in front of a floating podium with a tangible scripture on it.
At long last, Fabia spoke first. "Greetings to everyone. Be it from Neathia, Gundalia, Earth, or Vestal, I wish to extend my thanks to all of you watching this moment come forth. For those of you who might now know, I am Queen Fabia of Neathia, representing Neathia."
Nurzak stepped forward. "And I am Nurzak, the Prime Minister of Gundalia. I have come as a representative of all the natives and inhabitants of my home world."
Next to step up was Keith. "I am Keith Clay. I represent Vestal, alongside my associate, Gus Grav."
Gus gave a respectable nod. "It brings me sound body and mind to finally see all of our strives reach this point. So, to all who bared with us, you have our gratitude."
"And representing the humans are the ones called the Bakugan Battle Brawlers, and their predecessors, the Neo Battle Brawlers." Fabia let them all introduce themselves.
"Hey everyone, my name is Dan Kuso. Besides me is my wife, Runo Kuso."
"Thanks, everybody!"
"I'm Choji Marakuda. But others in association can call me Marucho."
"I am Shun Kazami."
"And I am Alice Gehabich."
"Julie Yamamoto, and might I say it's great to be here!"
Cameron stiffened, but remembering what he practiced, he took a strong stance. "And I am Cameron Fowler, the leader of the Neo Battle Brawlers."
"Akira Haruna."
"I'm Aisha Clair."
"Jayden Hunter."
"Cera Rise."
"…Garfield Quinn."
Valerie was in a hovering chair, the anti-gravity keeping her stable. "Greetings to you all. To all who are present and those afar, I am Valerie. I, as well as my associates beside me, are here on behalf of the Fabregan race amongst you all."
Andreas spoke up. "My name is Andreas Kishu Floure. I, too, represent the Fabregan species."
Realizing it was her turn, Zavanna straightened up. "My name is Zavanna Jaya Silva." She bowed. "On behalf of us Fabregans, thank you all."
"I am Zaria Lio."
"And I am Bones Kuro. We represent all of Alursia's inhabitants. It is with great pride and honor that we join you for this matter at hand."
"And I am Fusion Dragonoid, otherwise known as Drago." Drago introduced. "Besides me are my fellow Bakugan as we all have come to join in this chance to turn our differences into an opportunity."
Fabia spoke again. "To all Humans. Vestals. Neathians, Gundalians. Fabregans. Alursians. And Bakugan. Ever since the unseen invasion initially enacted by King Oeuraqeux of Fabrega, we all have come to see the truths that lie beyond the scope of our knowledge. We have come to learn that our species is but one of many intelligent lifeforms that exist. There, in different dimensions, in different time zones, in different worlds, there lies but another."
In a home on Earth, there was a young human girl between 6 and 7 with dark violet hair. Her magenta eyes fell upon the holographic screen acting as a TV monitor, as she saw her parents in their seats. She stopped coloring in her coloring book and was listening to the intriguing broadcast.
"But…today, we have come together to fully signify our resolve of a prosperous future," Nurzak announced. "There has been strife, complications, and significant differences between our species and worlds up until recently. Here, the resolution stands that we are all not who we thought we were, but who we will be. The person that we will become is not determined by our race nor species. You can stand proudly as who you are, but only so by acknowledging the strengths and weaknesses that you have."
"Because where others lack, the other can make up for that." Gus chimed in. "Moving forward, what you can do for yourself is what you can do for others who need it."
"I'm proud to say that the efforts that all of us have made, have created a new perspective on life," Keith admitted. "We all have suffered in some way in the past, be it our matter of living or the loss of those dear to us. But, despite our trials and tribulations, we've managed to overcome them because we depended on each other not as subjects, but as equals."
"The universal invasion was dubbed a hostile pioneering effort by Yukiko," Andreas announced. "However, despite the unprecedented introductions, we have made efforts to bring ourselves up beyond her scope and unify at our pace…in our own way."
Drago spoke up. "It doesn't matter whose way is better. What's important is that we respect each other and abide by the codes and conducts that we agreed upon together. That foundation is what we are."
In an undiscernible room, the only light was the broadcast of the treaty. The Fabregan adolescent sitting in front of the monitor was gazing up, his fists unconsciously balling.
Cameron cleared his throat, realizing it was his turn to talk. 'Okay Cameron, remember what you rehearsed…' He took a glance at Blazeon, seeing the Dragonoid giving him a subtle nod. With a nod back, he looked assuredly at the drone. "Hello, everyone. Many of you from home may know me. But for those who don't, I'll explain. It was me, and my partner Pyrus Blazeon, who sought to the confrontation that would put an end to Yukiko and Kyubis."
Everyone was paying attention. The attention was especially heated on Earth, especially since everyone knew who he was from witnessing the live view from New York. Suzuna especially looked stunned and expectant seeing her son. "Cameron…"
"We couldn't have done it alone. Her forces were powerful." Blazeon stated. "But for what it's worth, we prevailed because we didn't just depend on each other. We weren't alone in this fight."
Valerie smirked and gave a knowing nod.
"It was thanks to the efforts of everyone here with us today. Together, we've fought to bring down the High Council and Yukiko, once and for all." Cameron stated.
"The people here who stand before you had a hand in stopping the invasion are the ones selected to sign our issue of peace," Fabia stated. "This article will have both a physical and a digital archive alike, which will be stored in the archives of all worlds until the end of time. We give you…the Treaty of Unity."
The drone zoomed in on the podium, showing the declaration on the scripture that was written in American English, which has since undergone revisions to become a translated literature for everyone.
Bones started to speak. "The clause of the treaty is as follows: 'We stand under the belief that all Humans, Vestals, Gundalians, Neathians, Fabregans, Alursians, and Bakugan are all treated equally and fairly. Regardless of age, gender, race, ethnicity, or species, we are all to be respected regardless of our views. To that extent, we agree in the equal sharing of information and accommodations. If one falls, we all fall.' That is the initial statement."
"To put the matter simply, this treaty signed by all seven species will forever bind us together. We will stand to be open to one another, and no conflict will be tolerated should it put one of our own or the other into jeopardy." Andreas stated clearly.
"Additionally, under this treaty, the abolishment of subjugation is absolute." Valerie declared. "This treaty is the verification that you are recognized and have your rights on your base planet."
"And we Bakugan will stand together at your sides, should you accept us." Bearth declared.
"Spoken like a champ!" Radion beamed. "I'll admit, it was hard at first getting to know my partner, Akira. She wouldn't open up so easily, but even so, we've found a common ground and strove to overcome our obstacles."
"Radion…" Akira gasped.
Radion looked down, cheekily smiling. "Hey, that's what partners are for, right? Like they said, you make my other half, as I you."
Akira was frozen for a moment, stunned at her words. But moments later, she regained her composure with a resolute smile. "…yes, she's right. I became who I am today because I chose to have faith and accept those around me. Sure, they have their quirks, and sometimes we didn't always get along. But despite our struggles, we did it as a team. Together."
She took a brief pause to look at Aisha, who nodded in agreement.
Valerie was next to preach. "With that in mind, the seven species that make us up have come to sign this treaty. And the first of many honors will go to…Cameron Fowler."
Cameron blinked. "Me?"
"Yeah, sure. You're the one who defeated Yukiko. You deserve it." Dan encouraged.
Cameron didn't know what to say. When he looked at everyone else, he could see they all were in agreement. He took a deep breath and resigned himself to finally enacting the first signature. 'Alright…for Zavanna and our future together.'
He walked up and took the pen that sat on the podium. When he clicked it, instead of a black ballpoint, a bright little laser appeared. It was another form of Vestal engineering since they didn't have pencil and paper on their planet. Instead, they adapted between Earth and their materials, making a harmless light that would solidify upon contact and phase into black.
He took the pen and, taking one last look at Zavanna, saw her smiling at him. His smile broadened and he turned to write his name in fine textual detail on the open space on the treaty's clause. He watched as his name was words of light that faded into black engraved on the document.
Satisfied, he walked back to allow Akira to go next. One by one, everyone starting from the Humans began making their way up and signing the document. The empty bottom gradually filled with signatures, light turning to fine black.
Once all the signatures from everyone were set, Dan turned up towards his partner. "Alright Drago, your turn."
Drago turned towards Blazeon. "You sure about this?"
Blazeon closed his eyes, looking dignified. "Heh, well, what can I say? I'm not the one ruling the entire Bakugan race here, am I? Besides, I'm a fighter, not a peacekeeper."
Drago took the notion to heart with a nod. "Thank you."
"Go ahead, Drago. Represent all of Bakugan." Tigrerra insisted.
"Thanks, Tigrerra, I will."
"Allow me, if you will." Valerie reached for her dress and pulled out a small device. It looked like a small scanner with a small laser on it that was on her index finger. "This will shrink you down to ball form, albeit temporarily. Bear with me."
With a click, the lens fired a miniscule laser at Drago. Once it made contact, a transparent dimensional wave enveloped his body. He reverted to ball form and descended onto the podium. Opening in ball form, he used his open foot and clicked the pen, igniting the light.
Dan picked up the pen for his partner. "Here, Drago."
"Thanks, Dan." He used the space between his bottom half and jawline to grip the pen. Albeit a struggle, he managed to balance himself and began to inscribe his name on the document. The name "Drago" was crisp, but legible.
The light faded, fully immortalizing the seven species' signatures.
"And with that, everyone, we hereby declare the Treaty of Unity fully recognized," Andreas stated.
Now with the treaty signed and recognized, perhaps the world could finally move together from the scars that Yukiko and the previous Fabregan Leadership have left, not just on Earth, but on the many lands they have scorched. Hoping to create a new era of understanding and united peace.
Altogether, they said, "May we move forward together!" The collective roar of Bakugan echoed through the landscape nearly deafening the applause by the representatives and the large audience in attendance.
...
Much later as the dignitaries were speaking with each other. Cameron, with Zavanna's arm linked with his own, he picked up a plate, examining the tiny Hors d'oeuvres. "Um... do you know if we can get these, but in way bigger sizes?" Zavanna smiled in response.
"Like seriously, are they trying to make them Bakugan-sized? How can this satisfy anyone?" Blazeon questioned.
"Hey hotshot!" they saw Dan approaching him with Runo by his side. "You're quite popular these days, aren't you?"
"Well... I try to keep a low profile."
Blazeon coughed. "Speak for yourself. Your mama has the opposite idea!"
They saw Suzuna, while wearing a sundress and holding a glass of red wine, laughing while there were other women of high standing by her at the chocolate fountain. "My boy is a very respectful young man." her voice lowered to a whisper. "He won't tell anyone this, but I taught him everything he knows!" the women gasped while Suzuna grinned. "That's right, there's a reason why he knows how to throw a mean punch. Haha!" Blazeon was seen landing on her shoulder.
"You got that right! He would be nowhere if it wasn't for us!" Blazeon bragged.
Dan and Runo laughed while Cameron awkwardly chuckled. "Somehow, I'm not surprised."
Tigrerra sighed. "And to think, he's one of the strongest of us. And he acts... like this."
"Perhaps it's a good idea he's not representing us," Drago remarked.
Dan then turned his attention back to Cameron. "Anyway, I wanted to ask you for a favor. I'm thinking of something to kick this party into high gear!"
Cameron's ears perked. "You're not saying what I think you're saying, are you?"
"That's right, you and me one-on-one!"
"Well, to be honest, I haven't done that much battling these days. But who am I to say no to a challenge!?"
"That's what I was hoping you'd say!"
...
A safe distance from the rest of the partygoers, a couple of Bakugan and interested parties gathered to watch the battle about to take place. Both combatants stood, still in their formal attire, both showing their BakuMeters attached to their wrists.
"Just like old times, eh Drago."
"Yeah, this takes me back!"
Cameron meanwhile was still pulling the collar on his suit. "Maybe I should have thought about battling in this suit. Means I can't use Reversion huh?"
"Quick yer belly achin'! You remember we've got a reputation to uphold!"
"Hey, Cameron!" Dan exclaimed. "You better be ready; cause Drago and I aren't holding anything back!"
Cameron smirked as he held Blazeon within his right hand. "Then neither am I!"
As the crowd of people gathered to watch the upcoming battle take place, not only to see who the victor would be, but who the stronger of Earth's powerful Dragonoids were. Both brawlers heaved their throwing arms forward, sending their Bakugan into battle.
"Bakugan Brawl!" both Pyrus Bakugan had shot through the air and the next second, they clashed into each other, immediately shooting back as they stood mid-air. Drago flew back, his wings extending as he hovered in the air. He immediately looked toward his opponent.
Blazeon had his talons dragging across the ground, digging trenches into the earth as his body was engulfed in blue flames. Once he slid to a stop, he rubbed his cheek. "Heh, lucky shot, old man!"
"Luck had nothing to do with it, loudmouth!"
Cameron didn't falter on his end as he could feel the rush returning to him from his old days of doing this nearly every day, and after seeing Blazeon instinctively flying toward Drago, he immediately fell back into the same tempo he felt with Blazeon while in battle. He held up his BakuMeter, and an ability card materialized from the watch. "Get him Blazeon!"
Dan did the same thing as an ability appeared over his BakuMeter to immediately counter.
Drago had orange orbs of fire surrounding him while Blazeon cloaked himself in bright blue flames and shot toward Blazeon like an arrow. Both battlers would give their all in this hastily thrown together exhibition, not only to test their skill but to also greet the era of unification, not just between the 6 different races, but also between them and the Bakugan as they march toward an uncertain future but one they would attempt to take together as one.
THE END
A/N: Holy. Crap. What a ride. I started this fic while in late high school in 2013 when dipping my toe into writing and I honestly thought, I'd never finish it. But I got through it and I really have to thank Insane Dominator for helping me out behind the scenes I'm not sure I could have finished it without his help. Anyway, thanks for sitting through this 11-year journey. And I'd like to announce that I'm currently planning the sequel. So watch this space but until then. I'll see you guys around, and thank you so much for sticking with me.
