Hey, everyone! And welcome to the next chapter of my first ever Bluey fanfic, Bluey and the Humans. Last chapter, Billy and Helen played a couple of games with the Heelers as well as watch a movie with them. After that, they all went to bed. Now this chapter is going to be a little short than the others. It is also going to be based on a scene I saw from the Webtoon, The City Dogs which is a Bluey fan comic that was also an inspiration for this story. If you haven't checked it out yet, I highly recommend it. It's a pretty interesting comic. Now with that out of the way, let's begin. Disclaimer: I DO NOT own Bluey. All rights go to its respective owners. I only own my OCs.
Chapter 7: Billy's Nightmare
The sounds of passing cars could be heard as well as the sounds of horns honking. Billy felt someone shaking him, trying to wake him up.
"Billy! Wake up! Wake up, big brother!" A voice said.
The boy groaned and slowly opened his eyes to see Helen standing over him with a look of urgency. He sat up and rubbed his eyes.
"S-Sis? What's going on?" He asked, groggily.
"I don't know, Billy." Helen said, "I don't know how, but we somehow ended up back in our world. The only problem is I don't know where we are."
They heard a voice beside them.
"You're not the only ones." It said.
The two kids turned to see the Heelers who were surprisingly enough in their world too. Bandit, Chilli, Bluey, and Bingo all looked around at their surroundings, wondering just how in the heck they got there in the first place. They then turned back to the kids.
"Just where in the world are we?" Bluey asked.
"Well, from the looks of it, we're back in the human world." Replied Billy.
Bandit looked around and saw multiple humans walking and going about their business. He put a paw on his chin in thought.
"Hmm. So, this is what the human Earth looks like. Can't say I'm not surprised that it looks different from our world." He said.
They all got to their feet.
"Either way, we have to find some place safe and possibly some help if we're gonna be fine." Helen said.
She turned back to the Heelers.
"Remember; in this world, dogs can't talk or walk on two legs. So, you can't be seen or heard doing either one. Okay?"
The dogs nodded.
"Right." Chilli said.
They got on all fours. The kids and the dogs started to walk to go find a safe place until Chilli felt something around her neck and got pulled back. The others turned back to see her getting put into a cage by dogcatchers. Bandit, Bluey, and Bingo tried to stop them, but ended up getting put in cages as well. The dogcatchers put them in the back of the truck and closed the doors. They got back in their truck and began to speed away. When they did, Billy and Helen started chasing after it. They just lost their father. They didn't want to lose the Heelers too.
As they were running after the truck, Billy was screaming and yelling at them to come back with the dogs. But it was no use and the truck got very very far away from the kids. They stood there with shocked and saddened looks with tears in their eyes. Billy dropped to his knees. He started breathing heavily and screamed into the heavens.
"NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!"
Billy woke up in a cold sweat, scared out of his mind.
"NO!"
He breathed heavily as he looked around at his surroundings. He realized he was still in Bluey and Bingo's room with his sister because his scream was so loud it woke them up. He was trembling all over. His sister and the pups rushed over to him.
"Billy? What's wrong? Are you okay?" Helen asked.
"Did you have a bad dream?" Asked Bingo.
Before Billy could even answer, they all heard footsteps rushing to the room. They turned to see Bandit and Chilli standing in the doorway with looks of concern.
"What's going on? Is everything okay?" Chilli asked.
When the two parents saw the trembling and whimpering Billy they walked towards him. They kneeled to his level. Chilli placed her forepaws on the child's shoulders.
"Billy, what's wrong?" She asked.
But Billy didn't answer and continued to whimper. He also started to cry.
"Is everything alright, mate?" Asked Bandit.
Before they knew it, Billy pulled Chilli into a hug, sobbing into her chest. Knowing it was obvious there was something wrong, the mother dog returned the embrace. She stroked Billy's hair in an effort to calm him down.
"Shhhh. There, there. Everything's going to okay." She said.
Billy calmed down and looked up at Chilli. Bandit spoke up.
"Did you have a nightmare?" He asked.
The child nodded.
"Y-Yeah."
"Do you want to talk about it?"
"I... I guess so. But I'm gonna warn y'all right now... it's not pretty."
A few seconds later, they were all in the living room. They were sitting on the sofa while Billy talked about the nightmare he had over a glass of ice water. He told them all about how in the dream they were all back in the human world and how the Heelers all got taken away by dogcatchers. He also told them how him and Helen tried to stop them, but it didn't do any good. Helen and the Heelers were saddened when they heard this. They couldn't imagine something like that happening to them.
"We're really sorry you dreamed about that. We don't even know why a dream like that came to you. It's quite unbelievable." Bluey said.
Billy sighed.
"To be honest, I don't really know, Bluey. But what I do know, is that it was scary. Very... very... scary." He told her.
"We bet it was." Said Bingo.
Helen put a comforting hand on her brother's shoulder. He looked at her and saw she had a small smile on her face.
"Like Bluey said, we don't know how you dreamed up something like that. But I can assure you, it will never EVER happen." She told her older brother.
Chilli spoke up.
"Helen's right."
Billy looked at her. She had a look of reassurance.
"We know nothing like that would happen to us in a million years. Besides, if any 'dogcatchers' tried to take us away, you could always tell them that we're with you. But other than that, we know for sure that you and your sister have absolutely nothing to worry about." She told him.
Billy smiled.
"Thank you so much for telling me that, Chilli. I feel a whole lot better now. And I also have to thank Helen for comforting me as well." He said.
Helen chuckled.
"Heh. No sweat, Billy. Just trying to be a supportive little sister." She said.
"Now, let's all forget about this silly dream and get some shut-eye. Plus, you two, tomorrow is your first day of School." Said Bandit.
"School?" Billy and Helen asked in unison, obviously surprised.
Bandit and Chilli nodded.
"That's right." Chilli said, "You two will be starting your years at Bluey and Bingo's school, Glasshouse Primary School. It's an elementary school with Kindergarten to 5th Grade. Our daughters are in that school and so far, they're having a pretty positive experience."
"Trust us; you two are going to love our school. It has nice teachers, nice kids, a nice principal, you name it. If Bingo and I have a positive experience in going there, you can too." Bluey told them.
"Perhaps you're right." Helen said, "I mean, Billy and I had had a pretty negative experience at our school. So, maybe this might be the change we need."
"It wil be." Bingo promised.
And with that, everyone went back upstairs and back to bed. It took some time for Billy to fall asleep, but he eventually did. He was both nervous and excited at the same time. He didn't know what to expect when tomorrow came. But at the same time, he was sure that eventually everything would be positive for him and Helen.
Author's Note: Well, what do you know? I actually got a chapter done in a few days. It's about time I finally got my motivation back. And I sure hope things start to look up for our two protagonists. I hope you all enjoyed this chapter. Forgive me if it's a little half-assed. Also, sorry if I wasn't very descriptive with the nightmare. Anyway, please be sure to read, review, favorite, follow, and share share share. And be sure to keep watch for the next chapter coming soon. Constructive criticism is welcome. Until then, see ya next time, my fellow bronies and pegasisters!
