After fighting their way through Covenant forces, Buck, Dare, Summer, Rookie, and the engineer finally had some time to breathe in an elevator. Checking Thorn's mag, she groaned in displeasure as her only box mag loaded with non-dust rounds was sitting empty.

Sighing softly, she folds it up into its inert form before storing it on her back. "Well, I'm out." She informs the group of stopping a growing argument between Buck and Veronica and turns to face the Rookie when he taps her shoulder. With a nod, she takes the pistol he was giving her. "Not something I'd used." She mumbles as she inspects the hefty pistol in her hands. "But it would do."

"Mind telling who this is?" Veronica asks gesturing towards Summer. A look of distrust was evident on her face.

"A friend," Summer replied coldly as the elevator's journey ended and its doors opened. Revealing the morning-lit city. Taking point, Summer used her semblance to run ahead before finding a dead Marine lying behind sandbags along with a weapons depo which contained an assault rifle and a few sets of suppressed SMGs picking the SMGs and their spare ammo, she flicked their safeties off before rushing out of cover.

Time seemed to slow for Summer as her semblance sped up her reaction time. She was stepping around spikes of metal, blue and green globs of plasma. She unleashed a bullet storm on the Covenant forces. Reloading behind a barricade she once again stepped out of cover with fingers on triggers—muted coughs of the SMG as its rounds tore through the unfortunate grunt or jackal in her sights. A Brute tried to punch her only for the punch to be deflected by her with the barrel jabbed into a gap within the power armor and let loose a full mag dump.

"When did we get rosey flash?" Ask Dare as she watched the lethal dance of white rose petals as she slid to a halt before them SMGs barrels smoking.

"Found her in an abandoned building." Was Buck's nonchalant reply as they watched her eject the spent magazines before reloading them. "You should have seen what she did to a brute chieftain."

She then took point while the ODSTs and engineer followed up behind her. Reaching the service elevator, it was out of power, but the engineer was a literal floating power bank as its doors slid open with a chime.

On exiting the elevator Dare asked. "Mind telling me when did this happen?" Pointing towards a passing Covenant cruiser as they sailed the air towards the slip-space crateor.

"They came in while we were on our way to you," Summer replied casually as she made her way to a parked hog. As she boarded the passenger seat, she ignored the two lovers and renewed arguing as she plucked a shotgun from its rack and reloaded its magazine. Pumping the slide, she reloaded the magazine before ghost-loading another shell into the receiver.

Looking up to see another cruiser materialized out of thin air with a shriek. Narrowing her eyes, she reloaded her SMGs and checked her loaned pistol in a vain attempt to not imagine a Covenant parking their rears above Remnant. She was startled out of her thoughts by the blaring horn from a massive tracked vehicle.

She watched as the blond woman boarded the vehicle with Buck and the Rookie boarded the hog she was in. Buck manned the machine gun in the back while the Rookie slipped behind the wheel and turned the engine over, a brow raised as she expected to hear a growl of an internal combustion engine, instead she heard a whine as Rookie stomped the accelerator sending it tearing down the highway.

Their last stand was at the entrance of the Uplift Reserve with covenant forces rushing in by the dozen. "Last mag!" Summer shouted as she reloaded her submachine guns before swapping to her shotgun to blast a Jackle in the face spilling viscera across an info board. The warble of a phantom caused Summer to look up just to duck for cover as suppressant fire of plasma cannons and machinegun turret splashed against her cover as it disgorged its complement of jump-pack brutes and a chieftain.

"Great, flying… Dusting… Beringals!" Summer shouted as she hammered a flying Brute with 8-gauge rounds hammering its shields then tearing chunks of flesh from bone as its shields broke. "Moving!" Summer shouts as she sees the Chieftain charge their position Gravity hammer poised to strike while she was speed loading her shotgun.

"GO!" She heard Buck say as he and Dare popped out of cover and provided suppressive fire. Taking a breath, Summer rushed out of cover and used her semblance to meet the Chieftan mid-charge with a knee to its face. The impact caused Summer to wince at the feedback from the impact even though her aura took the brunt of the force. Snapping her shotgun up, she barked a shell into the Brute's face straining its shield and staggering back a few steps.

With a prime example of her flexibility, she easily flips over the Brute's swing of its gravity hammer before single-handedly racking her shotgun and cracking off another shot into the chieftain's head knocking it back. The chieftain shook its head before roaring in a challenge. Smirking, Summer gives a roar of her own in the form of her eight-gauge buckshot shell cracking its shield. She was about to finish it off, only to be surprised when an overshield covered the brute's body deflecting the blast. Before she could react, the chieftain swung its gravity hammer her way. She only had enough time to interpose the shotgun between her and the hammer before it made contact folding the shotgun and breaking her right arm in multiple places.

Summer's cry of pain was drowned by the graviton blast throwing her off her feet and into the side of a car her aura flared as it took the brunt of the impact before shattering while her scroll chimed its low aura warning. Weakly she looks up to the chieftain as it nears the hammer reared back to finish her off, only for a vapor trail to do a magic trick to the chieftain's head transforming it into a fireworks display of gore and viscera.

"Get up Sum!" Summer hears a distant voice say as she feels dragged to her feet. Letting herself be manhandled, Buck throws her over her shoulder before running to the west side parking lot where the stolen phantom was waiting for them.

On boarding the Phantom. Buck quickly put her down and had Dutch look her over. "Holly shit!" Dutch cursed as he gingerly touched Summer's mangled arm earning a lengthy line of curses, most of which went over their heads as it was in another language, but they were sure whatever she said moments before blacking out would have made a sailor blush.

Hello fellow friends.

Sorry for the delay, due to the bastard called writer's block, and my mood. But here we are the gameplay end of Halo ODST.

Now before I get that complaint about how Summer's aura is all over the place. That's because I made it that way and no I'm not going to change it. Also, I'm sure taking a gravity hammer swung by a Brute Chieftain to the side would surely mess a hunter/ess up even if you had Jaune Ark's reserves.

Anyway please leave a review, if you spot anything amiss or want to complain about how Summer could tank literal gravity and follow for more to come.
