I was running from the store owner again because I had stolen some food. I know it sounds bad but its only ever the cheapest and not much.
You see I'm homeless and can't afford food because no one wants to hire a homeless teen. So, I have to resort to stealing in order to survive.
I noticed a drainpipe ahead. Grinning I ran faster and climbed the pipe, onto the roof and bolted. I could hear the store owner cursing and yelling at me to get back. But I ignored as I continued to run, jumping the gaps between buildings.
When I was a good distance away I climbed down into an alleyway. I was about to walk out of the alley when I heard whimpering. Looking I found a wolf-like dog with white fur and severely malnourished.
It was clearly very weak and could barely stand. I felt bad for the pore thing, I crouched down and decided to give it the food I had stolen. I'd go hungry now because I couldn't go back to the shop for a while, but that's ok. It wouldn't be the first time, and it won't be the last. It ate the food with gusto before licking my hand and walking off.
I stood up and went to walk out of the alley when the store owner blocked the alleyway exit.
"Got you now, you little bitch." He said with a menacing grin I backed up, turning to run but he was faster and knocked me down and started to beat me. Punching and kicking. All I could do was cover my head and curl up, taking hit after hit and not being able to stop him.
Suddenly the blows stopped, and the man yelled out. Looking over I saw the dog I helped biting his arm. Yelling in pain, he punched the dog knocking it off him, he went to start attacking the dog, but I got up and grabbed his hand punching him in the face, breaking his nose.
all of a sudden, he pulled out a knife and stabbed me in the gut.
Gasping in shock, I kicked his leg out from under him and knocked him out. I leaned against the wall gasping, sliding down the wall I looked over to the dog. It walked over to me, sitting next to me it licked my face trying to comfort me. We both knew what was going to happen, even if I could get help it was already too late. Patting its head, my vision going dark I didn't notice as the dog began to glow.
I opened my eyes seeing a young blonde boy standing in front of me. Suddenly the boy bolted and all of a sudden I got the feeling that I needed to follow.
So I did.
We ran and ran never stopping, people tried to stop us but I knocked them out of the way. It was at this point I noticed I was on all fours and covered in fur. But I ignored it and kept running with the boy.
