Luna was walking down the corridor thinking about the doctor again, worriedly. When she came to this universe, she didn't understand her new role in it. Her mind had been fuzzy and was running on pure instinct.

When the boy and her finally stopped running, she learned that the boy went by Theta, and that he was in fact her master and given the name Luna, Shortly before they were separated. Her instincts had been on overdrive, and she attacked anyone who had gotten close to him.

It ended with her being sedated and the two of them were separated. When she awoke, she was a lot calmer. A black collar with a signal loop on it had been placed around her neck. And everything had been explained.
She had learned that she was now part of a race known as the Guardians. A race that takes on different characteristics of animals. a race that bonds with another and will do anything to protect their master.

She learned that she was on a planet called Gallifrey, inhabited by a race known as the Timelords. At the time, she couldn't remember why that rang a bell, but she would later remember, a TV show called Doctor Who.

She had realised that Theta was in fact the doctor and the boy he had become good friends with would later become the master. She had tried to help him, even revealing that she had been from another univers to theta, where his life in the future was a TV show.

"Beta Luna." Someone called out to her. Turning she saw a young lion apprentice guardian running towards her.

When a guardian appears, they are immediately sent to the academy with the bonded timelord and trained on how to protect their masters. an Apprentice Guardian was a young Guardian who had yet completed their training and wouldn't become full-fledged guardians until they complete their training.
"I was told to tell you that there's a situation involving sir Doctor," he said. Luna followed the boy to a room meant to hold trials. She was worried, what sort of situation did the doctor get himself into?

There was a man standing on one platform. Two others were standing on another. Coming into the room was a group of people. Three men and one woman. Only one man out of the group did Luna recognise.

The Doctor was wearing his signature outfit of this regeneration. He had regenerated sins luna last sore him when he took Susan and ran.

They were on a platform behind the man, one man in the group walked over to the other platform with the two men who were dressed the same as him. That's when she realised, they were judges, and the man on the other was the accused.

The timelord that was with the group walked over to the other two. "The witnesses have arrived." He spoke. "Let them stand aside until they are needed." The blond timelord in the middle began. "Continue with the trial." He finished.

The timelord on his right took two steps away from the other two and began, "In every one of these time zones, thousands of human beings fought and died in the belief that they were on their own planet. The survivors have now all been returned to their own times on the planet Earth, but the death roll is beyond counting. These lives were squandered in the course of a vicious and diabolical scheme to gain control of the entire galaxy. A scheme originated and devised by a race of which the accused is the leader. It was a was a highly organised scheme with an utterly callous disregard for the lives of the humans involved and for the liberties of all the other species in the galaxy which the accused would have dominated with his tyranny. In the pursuit of this scheme, brutal methods of mental processing were used which entirely contravened all the galactic laws. I will now call upon a member of our own race to sort this evil matter out. There will commence a reading of the witness' report. The witness is called. Will you step forward, please?" he looked over towards the doctor and asked. The doctor on the other hand was in a conversation with his companions. Zoe and Jamie, Luna remembered.

"Will you step forward, please?" the timelord asked again more firmly this time. "Oh, oh, I beg your pardon." The doctor apologised and walked up.

"We have received your statement. Do you swear to the truth of your report?" the timelord asked. "Everything in that report is the result of my direct personal observation." The doctor replied, luna realised at this point, that this was the last episode for this doctor.

That's why she was here, he was going to be on trial next and as his Guardian Luna would have to attend. Suddenly there was a scream and a plea to stop. Luna realised that she had zoned out for a moment, and looked to see the warlord knelt, clutching his head.

"You must speak." One of the timelords said. The warlord stood, putting his glasses back on and straitened his clothes. "Yes." The warlord said reluctantly but firmly. "Do you admit the charges with which you have been accused?" the timelord asked.

"I do not even admit the authority of this court." The warlord said incensed. "Have you anything to say in your defence?" the blonde timelord asked. "The humans who died in our war games would have killed each other anyway." The warlord stated, still incensed.

That's when Luna remembered something, a scene of two men looking over the tardis console, then the noise of a tardis materialising, and one of the men went to look, the next thing was both men dead on the ground. Realizing this Luna crept away.

Managing to find the corridor where the two men laid dead, Luna hid in the tardis. "Hey old girl, long time no see, Hope you've been looking after the idiot," Luna said patting the console.

Suddenly she could hear footsteps and the doctor's voice getting closer. "You'll never get away. The Time Lords are too strong for you." He was saying. Luna in a rush hid behind the console, head ducked down, ears flat against her head and her tail curled around herself.

First the doctor and his companions, then the armed guards, and finally the warlord himself. she remained hidden behind the console, the Doctor and Luna made eye contact, and he carefully shook his head no.

"Yes, you shall make us many of these machines." The warlord began as he walked up to the console, on the opposite side she was hiding on. "Now, get to the control panel and take us back to the home planet." He finished.

"I can't, I tell you. The directional mechanism is faulty." The doctor tried. "You will do as I say or we shall kill the girl." The warlord said, two of his men grabbing Zoe. "But I don't even know where your home planet is." The doctor said, desperation and worry in his tone.

"Galactic sector nine seven three, then we will get the homing signal. Now operate the machine!" he stated, yelling at the end, incensed at the doctor's hesitation. "I'll do my best, but I can't promise anything." The doctor began, the worry in his tone now fake. Luna carefully grabbed the doctor's ankle so they could come up with a plan.

'So, any ideas.' Luna asked telepathically. 'I've registered your collar as my guardian in the tardis matrix, and I'm about to turn the console room bright as the sun. it should give you some protection from the sensory overload.' He told her doing just that.

"Jamie, Zoe, hide your eyes. Run!" crying out the last bit as he flicked a switch, making the tardis console room extremely bright, and bolting out the door with Jamie and Zoe.

"Get after them! Kill them! Quickly!" the warlord cried out pushing his men in the direction of the exit. Luna not nearly as affected by what the doctor did, pulled out her gun and dagger, luna followed carefully behind the men.
"Kill them!" the warlord yelled, but before any of them could move, Luna grabbed one by his shoulder, turning him around and cutting his throat open, the wound immediately being cauterized by the hot edge of the blade.

She moved on to the next man, killing him the same way and shooting another. Luna crouched down to avoid being struck by one of the other two men, throwing a leg out as she turned to face the other two men. As she did so she held out her dagger as she spun catching one of the two men's thigh and causing him to take a knee, simultaneously kicking the warlord's legs out from under him.

Standing back up, she shot the only man still standing. Suddenly her legs were kicked out from under her, making her drop her knife and gun somewhere and someone climbed on top of her.

"For god's sake, aren't u goin to help ér" Jamie cried, seeing the strange woman being choked by the warlord. "Timelords cannot inter fear with a guardian's duty to protect their masters." One of the timelords said, matter-of-factly

At this point, the warlord's only man left pulled out a knife and went to stab her with it, but Luna kicked her leg out to the side, striking the man, and knocking the knife out of his hand.

It slid to where the others were and immediately Jamie picked it up. "well if u lot aren't goin to elp ér, then I will." Jamie said and went to take a step forward before the doctor put an arm across his chest. "no Jamie when a guardian is on Gallifrey they cannot receive help, if you help her, the counsel of alphas will punish her for failing to protect me." He explained to him, worry and fear filling his tone.

"But doctor, we must do something," Zoe said worried about the other woman. The doctor quickly grabbed the knife and slid it to Luna who grabbed it, plunging it into the warlord's neck.

with a gasping gurgle clutching the wound, Luna pushed him off, coffing as she did so, she quickly grabbed her gun and turning to point it at the other man who had recovered from the kick earlier, she fired the gun, killing the last man as he crumpled to the ground.

Keeping her guard up for a moment longer before deciding that the danger had passed. Laying back as she continued to coff, the doctor quickly made his way to her, checking to make sure she was alright.

"I'm fine, I'm ok, Stop worrying." Luna placated as she sat up. "Well, that's put an end to them. Well, we'll be on our way. Come on, Doctor. Cheerio." Jamie tried to usher them out but just then a forcefield appeared around him and Zoe, who was standing right next to him.

"what's this, oi! switch this thing off." Jamie cried out. "Jamie, they are not going to let us go." The doctor said sadly, helping Luna from the ground. "What? After all you've done for them?" Jamie cried, incensed at the fact that the doctor was going to go on trial for breaking the timelord's most important law.

Luna, decided had stayed silent throughout all this. At this point the doctor turned to the other two timelords, as one of them made a jester, and the doctor and Luna followed him out, the alpha following not too far behind.

"What are you going to do to him?" they heard Zoe cry out in worry.

"You have heard the charge against you, that you have repeatedly broken our most important law of non-interference in the affairs of other planets. What have you to say? Do you admit these actions?" the blond timelord asked the doctor.

"I not only admit them, I am proud of them. While you have been content merely to observe the evil in the galaxy, I have been fighting against it." the doctor stated proud of his actions but also, incensed at the timelord's inactions.

"It is not we who are on trial here, Doctor, it is you." The timelord stated calmly. "No, no, of course, you're above criticism, aren't you." The doctor said sarcastically.

"Do you admit that these actions were justified?" the timelord asked in shock that the doctor would so openly admit to his actions. "Yes, of course, I do. Give me a thought channel and I'll show you some of the evils I've been fighting against." The doctor cried somewhat desperately. At that, the other two timelords looked at Luna. "As his Guardian, what are your thoughts on this." One of them asked her. "I know the doctor tens to medal, but to outright interfere without good cause is not the man I helped to steal a Tardis." Luna defended the doctor, she was pretty sure she knew what was going to happen, but her knowledge of the first two doctors was practically non-existent.

Luna was only able to watch the classic series and the first two seasons of new who, before she died. Back when she was in foster care, one of her foster parents, Liza showed her the show and fostered a love for it in her.

That was when everything was going good, she had a life ahead of her all thanks to Liza. Luna had only been four when she took her in. But sadly, Liza was already in her fifties when she took Luna in, three years after taking in her, Liza died of a heart attack, and Luna was sent back into foster care.

"Your defence has been heard and will be carefully considered, but you have raised difficult issues. We require time to think about them. You will be recalled when we have made our decision." The blond timelord said before leaving, the doctor and Luna.

The doctor gave an exasperated look to Luna, smiling she looked at him, happy to see him again after so long. "I've missed you." She said hugging him. "As have I." the doctor replied hugging her back.

"You know, I don't think I ever thanked you for helping me borrow the tardis." The doctor queried. "Borrowing, doctor implies that you intend to give it back," Luna replied, knowing full well he had no intentions of doing so.

"Go fish?"

Sometime later the doctor and Luna are playing Go Fish. "Have you got any fours?" Luna asked the doctor looking over her own deck. She noticed out of the corner of her eye the doctor slipping a card into his sleeve. "No cheating doctor, give it here." She said holding out her hand.

Grumbling the doctor handed the card over, revealing it was the four of spades. One of Luna ear's twitched, hearing approaching footsteps. Looking over she could see Jamie, Zoe and the timelord who remained with them approaching.

The doctor heard the footsteps not long after her and looked over to see. "Jamie! Zoe!" the doctor called out happy to see them. "Doctor!" Zoe cried out just as happy to see him. Both Jamie and Zoe went to hug the doctor but were stopped by another forcefield.

"I've brought your friends to say goodbye." The timelord told them. "Oh, switch this thing off," Jamie said annoyed, pointing back at the forcefield. "We can't say goodbye through a forcefield," Zoe complained, looking back at him.

"Very well. I shall leave you together. for a little while." The timelord complied, before reminding them it was only temporary. "Oh, thank you." The doctor said, slightly sarcastic.

The timelord left, and the forcefield dropped. The doctor, Jamie and Zoe all grabbed hold of one another making sure they were alright. "Ah, yes, Zoe, Jamie, this is Luna. Luna this is Zoe and Jamie." The doctor introduced. "Hi." Luna greeted, holding out her hand. "Hello." Jamie and Zoe replied, shaking her hand.

That's when Jamie asked what the timelords were going to do to the doctor. "Oh, nothing much. I expect they'll to make me listen to a long boring speech about being a good boy. They like making speeches." The doctor said sadly, fiddling with his fingers.

"Well, I think it's time you left them again," Zoe said confidently. "Well, that's easier said than done." The doctor replied to her, still upset.

"Oh come on, we've been in tighter situations than this." Jamie tried to reassure the doctor, "Well, you don't know the Time Lords, Jamie. I do." The doctor said, Jamie's words of encouragement clearly haven't worked.

"go doctor, you might get lucky they might not realise that you're gone before they get back." Luna encouraged the doctor with a warm smile.

"Well. Oh, all right, but we may find it a bit difficult getting out of here." The doctor deflated and gave in. "Wait, what about you Luna, we can't just leave you here," Zoe said, looking at the other girl in worry.

"I'll be fine, go, quickly, before they get back." she encouraged them ushering them out. however after some time, the doctor and two of the timelord's return without Zoe and Jamie.

the doctor chuckled after watching Jamie chase after a man who tried to shoot him. "They will both continue their lives as if nothing had happened." The blond timelord told the doctor, ending his chuckles.

"Yes, very efficient. Now then, what about me?" the doctor asked, wondering what was to happen to him. "We have accepted your plea, and that of your guardian," the timelord started. "That there is evil in the universe that must be fought, and that you still have a part to play in that battle." He finished calmly.

"What? You mean that you're going to let me go free?" the doctor asked filling with hope. Both the other two timelords looked at each other before turning back and said, "Not entirely. We have noted your particular interest in the planet Earth. The frequency of your visits must have given you special knowledge of that world and it's problems."

"Yes, I suppose that's true. Earth seems more vulnerable than others, yes." The doctor confirmed, wondering where this was going. "For that reason you will be sent back to that planet." The blond timelord began. "Oh, good." The doctor said, not realising there was more. "In exile." The timelord finished.

"In exile?" the doctor said quietly. both he and Luna were shocked at their decision. "You and your guardian will be sent to Earth in the 20th century, and will remain there for as long as we deem proper, and for that period the secret of the Tardis will be taken from you."

At that, the doctor became incensed. Sents she died, she had never left Gallifrey. "But you, you can't condemn Luna and me to exile on, on one primitive planet in, in o-in one century in time! Besides, I-I-I'm known on the Earth. I-I-It might be very awkward for me." The doctor spluttered.

"Your appearance has changed before, it will change again. That is part of the sentence." The timelord said. "You can't just change what I look like without consulting me!" cried the doctor, angered that they were making him regenerate.

"You will have an opportunity to choose your appearance." The timelords placated the distraught doctor. "Oh, oh, well, that's not so bad." the doctor began somewhat mollified, "But I warn you, I'm very particular." He warned them. "Here is your first choice." The timelord said.

The doctor turned around to the monitor being shown different faces, not liking any of them. "You're wasting time, Doctor." The timelord said, for the first time showing some of his irritation.

"It's not my fault, is it? Is this the best you can do? I've never seen such an incredible bunch." The doctor complained. "Since you refuse to take the decision, the decision will be taken for you." The timelord said, clearly done with the doctor's pickiness.

"No, no, no, I never said that. But I maintain I have the right to decide what I look like! It could be very important on the Earth. People on Earth attach a very great deal of importance" The doctor tried to stop them from taking the choice away from him but failed miserably.

The doctor began to disappear his words muffled, as he began to regenerate. "As for you, beta Luna. Be transferred to the earth. However, it will be a few weeks before the doctor, so you may prepare for the doctor's arrival." The timelord explained to her.

"We will also need you to hand over any superior technology, so you may blend in more." The other timelord said, holding out his hands. Luna reluctantly handed over her weapons. 'well, this just got that little more difficult.
