(Two months passed, Mariska had been there five months now and Sean was nowhere to be found. Word was he packed up and went back to the States. Mariska's wounds have finally healed, but mentally she was still dealing with it. Chris has been a lifesaver for her, making sure she was ok. She stayed with him until she was able to find another place and she was returned back to the clinic.)
(It was a losing battle for her when she returned back and she felt like the world was caving in on her. Her second week back and the day couldn't get any worse than it has. She was yelled at by a mother whose child was having problems with needles. She had just come back from her lunch break tending to a tweleve year-old boy who had to give a urine sample.)
Mariska: Come on sweetie you just have to pee in this cup.
Brandon: No, you can't make me.
Mariska: It is important so we can see what's going on with your bladder.
Brandon: Nothing is wrong with my bladder now leave me alone.
Mariska: It will only take a minute. Now here take this, go into the bathroom and pee.
Brandon: (attitude) Whatever.
(He jerks the cup out of her hand and goes into the bathroom. He pees in the cup and an evil smile comes across his face. After he was done, he walked out with the cup and walked up to Mariska.)
Mariska: Now, was that so hard?
Brandon: Nope, here's your urine.
(Just as she thinks he is going to reach it to her, he tosses the urine in her face. Mariska gasped, standing up straight as it ran down her body. Brandon laughs seeing the horrific look on her face as he points at her. She quickly turns around slams through the door and bumps into Chris.)
Chris: Woah.
Mariska: (voice breaks) I'm sorry.
(She moves past him and runs down the hall to the nearest bathroom and locks the door. She's in there for about ten minutes before he hears a knock and then his voice.)
Chris: Mariska can you open the door?
Mariska: No, just leave me alone.
Chris: Come on let me in I just want to make sure you ok.
Mariska: I'm fine, just go back to your patients.
Chris: (sigh) Fine, but I will check on you later.
(She waits until he is gone before taking a deep breath as she looks in the mirror. She makes a face as the smell of urine hits her nostrils and she almost gags. Deciding not to go back to work, she instead clocked out and left to head home. She makes it home and heads straight for the shower.)
(Around eight that nightshe she was on her sofa eating some tacos and drinking a glass of wine to unwind from earlier. She was just about to refill her glass when she heard a knock on her door. She gets up and grabs the bat by the door before she looks out the window and sees Chris standing there.)
Chris: I can hear you breathing. So put down the bat and open the door.
Mariska: (opens it) What are you doing here?
Chris: I wanted to check on you.
(He moved pass her inside.)
Mariska: (locks the door) I'm fine, nothing water couldn't wash away.
Chris: What happened?
Mariska: One of your patients decided to throw piss on me after I made him pee in a cup.
Chris: Ohhh.
Mariska: Yeah, I prayed about it. These last few weeks are really starting to take a toll on me and to be honest, I'm not sure if I want to finish my residency.
Chris: Marsha?
(He sits down as she comes and sit next to him and offer him a taco. He takes it smiling before he eats it in some bites.)
Mariska: No, things have not been good for me since that night and I hate that it's getting to me.
Chris: You tried talking to someone?
Mariska: I see some lady but it's not working as much but it's something.
(He watches her as she bites into her taco.)
Chris: I think we're going to need more tacos.
Mariska: And wine.
Chris: Hey I'm in, I'll order more tacos while you find more wine.
Mariska: Great, be right back.
(She gets up pushing off his leg as she makes her way to the kitchen to get another bottle of wine and a glass for Chris. She plops back down on the sofa and hands him the glass and pours him some.)
Chris: To friendship.
Mariska: To friendship.
Chris: So what we watching?
Mariska: I feel like something scary.
Chris: OK, but don't be burying your face in my chest when you get scared.
Mariska: I'm never scared.
Chris: (smirks) We will see.
Mariska: Why don't you pick
Chris: Oh this going to be so good.
(He picks the movie just as the tacos arrive and they sort them out on the table. Mariska was half way tipsy but she was still able to focus. They were halfway into the movie when a scary part came on and Mariska jumped.)
Mariska: Oh my god.
Chris: (laughs) Scared you?
Mariska: Not funny, you picked this movie just to scare me didn't you?
Chris: (smiles at her) Of course not.
(She settles back down but moves closer to Chris wrapping an arm around his. He smirks as he looks at her out of the corner of his eye. Mariska is feeling safe and warm tucked up under Chris and its nice. Another scene comes and she's hollering at the woman to run as she hides in Chris's arms.)
Mariska: She going to die.
Chris: You are hilarious.
Mariska: I mean she's running the wrong way.
(She snuggles back into his arms while he continues to look at her and sees how happy she is.)
Chris: You're so gorgeous.
Mariska: (looks up at him) What?
Chris: Nothing.
Mariska: No, what did you say?
Chris: Is it going to scare you?
Mariska: (bites her lip) No.
Chris: I said you're gorgeous.
Mariska: (blushes) Oh.
(He smirks at how cute she looks blushing and acting shy. Taking a chance he brings a hand up to her face and caresses it. She looks deep into his eyes that she could easily get lost in and does the same. They don't know who moved in first but she felt his lips softly touch hers and she instantly felt her body ignite.)
