Chapter 32
The Tentacled Game Designer Part 2
"Way to go, Slifer" whisper yelled Simon.
"Hey, it's not my fault" whisper yelled Jaden.
"Ahem!". Jaden and everyone else looked up to see Octo looking down on them
"Uh, hi, Ms. Octo", said Syrus nervously. "My name is-".
"What are you doing in my cave?" Asked Octo.
"Why were you stealing tools?" Asked Bastion.
"Because I needed more" answered Octo.
"You know you could get in trouble, right?" Asked Syrus.
"I was planning on returning them", said Octo. "Now, if you don't mind, I'm busy".
"Busy with what?" Asked Alexis. Octo didn't answer as she went deeper into her cave. Jaden and the others decided to follow.
"Hey!", shouted Jaden. "Wait u-". Jaden didn't finish when he saw what was there. When Syrus and the others arrived, they were speechless too. They were looking, at a makeshift laboratory.
"Great Scott" said Bastion in awe.
"She's got an entire lab set up" said Syrus. They then heard the sound of sparking and saw Octo sitting on a chair at a desk doing work on something.
"And~ it, is, done" said Octo. Jaden and the others walked over.
"Hey there" said Jaden. Octo jumped a little, not expecting them.
"What are you doing here?" Asked Octo.
"We wanted to check out what you were doing" answered Jaden. They looked at what she was working on and gasped in awe. It was a duel disk, but it had a few, stylistic choices. It was deep-blue fashioned to look lite an octopus, while the card tray looked like it's tentacles.
"Whoa, sweet duel disk" said Jaden.
"Where'd you get that?" Asked Augustus.
"I built it" answered Octo.
"You built it?" Asked Bastion.
"Yeah, when you live alone", answered Octo. "You tend to tinker in your own little projects". Jaden looked in closer.
"Gotta say", said Jaden. "This looks to be very well made". Octo then placed her hands on the side of Jaden's face.
"Hey", said Octo. "You're kinda cute up close".
"Uh, thank you" said Jaden nervously.
"Well, since you seem so intrigued by it", said Octo. "Why not duel me?".
"Duel you?" Asked Jaden.
"Not scared of losing to a girl, are you?" Asked Octo.
"No, I'm just shocked" answered Jaden. He then took out his duel disk.
"Where'd you get that?" Asked Syrus.
"Writer's convenience" answered Jaden. He then turned his duel disk on. Octo then put hers on. Both of them then drew their hands.
"GAME ON!".
Jaden: 4000
Octo: 4000
"You may go first, Jaden" said Octo.
"Thanks, my draw", said Jaden drawing the top card of his deck. "I summon Elemental Hero Clayman in defence mode". His monster then appeared on the field.
"Then I'll throw down a facedown and call it a turn" said Jaden.
"My move then", said Octo drawing the top card of her deck. "I summon Gishki Abyss in attack mode". Her monster was a human with purple-blue skin, gold jewels, dark-blue trousers with gold trim and a large shark for a head.

"That's one, weird looking fish" said Syrus.
"Now for Abyss' effect", said Octo. "Now, I can add 1 'Gishki' monster from my deck to my hand with 1000 DEF or less". She then took a card out of her deck.
"Now then", said Octo. "Next, I'll activate Graceful charity. This card lets me draw the top three cards of my deck, then discard two cards from my hand". She then drew the top three cards of her deck, then discarded 2 to the graveyard.
"Now, that activates the effect of Gishki Mollusk", said Octo. "Now, I can look at the top 3 cards of my deck, then I can return them to either the top or the bottom of the deck in any order". She then looked at the top 3 cards of her deck.
"Not bad", said Octo. "I think I'll place the second card on top, then the third and then the first". She then returned her cards.
"Now, I'll just place these two cards facedown and end my turn" said Octo.
"Huh? Only one monster with 800 attack points?" Wondered Augustus.
"There has to be more to it" suggested Simon.
"My move", said Jaden drawing the top card of his deck. "And I summon, Elemental Hero Solid Soldier". His monster then appeared on the field.
"And when he's summoned", said Jaden. "I get to call forth another 'Hero' to join him. So, say hello to Elemental Hero Burstinatrix". His monster then appeared on the field.
"Now, Solid Soldier!", shouted Jaden. "Attack Gishki Abyss!". Solid Soldier then charged in for his attack.
"I activate my trap, Negate Attack!" Shouted Octo. Solid Soldier then stopped his attack.
"Nuts", said Jaden. "I end my turn".
"My move", said Octo drawing the top card of her deck. "I summon Gishki Beast, in attack mode". Her new monster was a humanoid see dragon with blue hair.

"Beast's special ability let's me special summon one level 4 or below 'Gishki' monster from my graveyard", said Octo. "So, I summon Gishki Mollusk". Her new monster was a dark-skinned humanoid with yellow markings wearing silver armour with yellow and blue highlights carrying two swords. It's head was in the shape of a clam shell.

"Now, Mollusk!", shouted Octo. "Attack Solid Soldier!". Gishki Mollusk slashed his swords at Solid Soldier and destroyed him.
Jaden: 4000 - 400 = 3600
"Now, Beast! Attack Burstinatrix!" Shouted Octo. Gishki Beast then fired a stream of water from it's mouth and destroyed Burstinatrix.
Jaden: 3600 - 300 = 3300
"Now, Abyss, attack him directly!" Shouted Octo. Gishki Abyss then charged towards Jaden.
"I activate my trap!", shouted Jaden. "A Hero Emerges".
"A what?" Wondered Octo.
"Here's how this works", said Jaden. "You pick a card in my hand, and if it's a monster, I can summon it".
"So, it's a game of chance?", wondered Octo. "Very well, the second card on the right".
"Well, nice choice, for me anyway", said Jaden. "I now summon, Evil Hero Infernal Gainer". His new monster was a demonic looking human with purple and red skin with horns and a tattered cape.

"Alright!", cheered Augustus. "Gainer is stronger than Abyss!". Infernal Gainer then destroyed Abyss.
Octo: 4000 - 800 = 3200
"I, end my turn" said Octo.
"It's my turn then", said Jaden drawing the top card of his deck. "I activate O Oversoul, now, I can special summon 1 'Hero' normal monster from my graveyard, and I choose Burstinatrix". His monster then appeared on the field.
"Next, I'll sacrifice her", said Jaden. "To summon Evil Hero, Malicious Edge". His monster then appeared on the field.
"But that's a level 7 monster", said Octo. "You need two tributes to summon him".
"Not exactly", said Jaden. "If you control at least 1 monster, I only need 1 tribute to bring him out. Now, I activate Infernal Gainer's effect. If I banish him until my next turn, one fiend monster can attack twice this turn". Infernal Gainer then disappeared.
"Now, Malicious Edge!", shouted Jaden. "Go, Needle Burst!". Malicious Edge then attacked.
"I activate my trap, bubble barrier!", shouted Octo. "Now, since your attack a water monster, not only are my monster not destroyed, but any damage I take for the rest of the turn is halved". Beast, Abyss and Mollusk were then placed in bubbles. Malicious Edge attacked both Abyss and Mollusk, only for the bubbles to pop.
Octo: 3200 - 450 - 900 = 1850
"Not a bad move" commented Bastion.
"Why is she so keen on keeping her monsters around?" Wondered Syrus.
'If she's playing the same way I am', thought Alexis. 'Then I think I know'.
"I'll place these two cards facedown, and end my turn" said Jaden.
"My move then", said Octo drawing the top card of her deck. "I activate the Ritual spell, Gishki Aquamirror". A circular mirror with a gold outline then appeared in front of her. This caused everyone to gasp.
"You're ritual summoning?" Asked Jaden.
"That I am", answered Octo. "So, I offer up Beast and Mollusk". Both of her monsters turned into beams of blue light and were absorbed into the mirror. Water then poured out of the mirror and started to form a shaped.
"I Ritual summon!", shouted Octo. "Evigishki Soul Ogre!". The water then formed into a humanoid pink, white and grey eel with gold armour and the mirror on was on it's chest.

"Whoa", said Simon. "That's one mean looking eel".
"Next, I summon Gishki Marker" said Octo. Her new monster was a dark skinned humanoid with an octopus for a head.

"Marker's special ability allows me to add 1 'Gishki' Ritual monster or Ritual spell from my graveyard to my hand", said Octo adding the card to her hand. "Now, I'll activate it, Gishki Aquamirror".
"Not again" said Syrus. The mirror then appeared.
"I now tribute both my Abyss and Marker", said Octo performing the summon. "I ritual summon, Evigishki Gustkraken!". Her new monster was a red haired human witch decked in black with gold highlights and everything from the waist down was a black and gold kraken.

"Now comes Gustkraken's special ability", said Octo. "Now, I can pick 2 random cards from your hand and return them to your deck".
Gustkraken's staff glowed, causing two of the cards in Jaden's hand to glow before they disappeared.
"Now comes Soul Ogre's ability", said Octo. "I can discard 1 'Gishki' card from my hand to the graveyard to shuffle a face-up card on YOUR field to your deck".
"Oh no" said Jaden.
"So, I'll send Gishki Noellia to the graveyard", said Octo. "Now, it's time for Malicious Edge to be swept away". A pit of water appeared beneath Malicious Edge and he fell in.
"Whoahohohoho", said Jaden. "Nice move. But don't think this is over yet".
"Oh, believe me, my little red pearl", said Octo. "It's only just begun".
