Ninjago: Ninja and Purple Dragon of Spinjitzu

(This story is a crossover with Ninjago and Spyro the Dragon) 20 years after the serpentine battle and 10 years after the defeat of Malefor. A dragon egg from the Dragon Realms floated into Ninjago, soon founded by a pair of humans. The young dragon was raised by them with a older child as a brother. 14 years later, Cinder will learn about who he is and his biological family.

22. Chapter 22

Chapter 22: Peak-a-Boo and Kingdom Come

Kai grunts as he tries to use Airjitzu to reach a flag. Him, Jay, and Zane were on the deck on the Bounty, practicing on how to used Airjitzu. Cinder

"Seriously!" Kai tries again, but misses. Ronin was lying down next to the flag.

"Aww, just short. Like your temper, Kai."

"Let me try. I'm for sure a better Airjitzuer than you, Kai." Jay said confidently

"Oh, yeah? And when did that happen?" Kai said mockingly

"Like, now!" Jay said and flew up but missed the flag and screamed as he fell.

"Oh, yeah. That was so much better than me." Kai said sarcastically

"It...it was." Jay groaned

"That wasn't Airjitzu, that was Failitzu. Really" Ronin said eyebrows raised

"Or Stupiditzu." Kai quipped

"To master the powers of Airjitzu, we must uplift, not put each other down, Ronin." Wu impart while Ronin ate an apple.

"You close shop for a week, you gotta let me have some fun. Aren't Nindroids supposed to be precise?"

"These new suits are heavy. Why can't we just use our old ones?" Kai sighs as he looked at his suit which was bulkier with armor.

"These are embedded with Deepstone. They will protect you from being possessed." Wu said as Cinder came out in dragon form from below deck. He was wearing armor like the other three but different. The armor he has on his shoulders is the same as the others, but made for him when going between his human and draconian forms. His entire body was covered in black clothing with his feet, wings, and tail blade exposed. His ninja hood wrapped around his neck. The dragonet watched the conversation silently, his mood still dampened by his brother's ghost form.

"Yeah, well, maybe the name "Airjitzu" isn't uplifting enough. Maybe we need something more inspiring, like...Cyclon-Do!" Jay exclaimed and flies above the flag.

"Miss. Again." Ronin said smirking but then turned into annoyance as the blue ninja takes his apple instead.

"Hey!"

"Cyclon-Do." Jay laughs as he eats it

"Mm."

Kai noticed the dragonet standing silently. The red ninja came over and sat down next to him. Everyone saw this and knew what's he's thinking about. Kai starts rubbing his mane.

"I know you're feeling upset over this ordeal. But if you want to blame someone, blame me."

"You? Why you?" Cinder said

"Cause fire head bargain for the scroll with Ronin, then bargain our shares to the tea shop for info of getting another scroll, thus leading us to Yang's Temple. Causing Cole to become a ghost." Jay explained and Cinder nodded and Kai sighs

"I shouldn't of done that bargaining, then maybe this whole mess could if been avoided.

Cinder nuzzled him.

"It's not your fault. I blame Morro for this. He's the cause of this and I won't let him do any more harm to my family."

Kai smiled gratefully at the dragonet and hugged him. After that everyone went to the briefing room. Misako has figured out what the second clue is.

"Now that both Morro and you have Airjitzu, it's time to turn our attention to the second clue, the Sword in the Cloud." Misako said as she showed the clue on a projector.

"Me senses tell me it could be many a swords. Thar be the Fire Sword, the Sword of Destiny, the Golden Cutlass" Zane said in a pirate looked at the Nindroid confused by his voice. Kai was also confused as well.

"I thought you said you fixed his voice?"

"I did. And then I made it better." Jay sniggers

"...the Sword of Invisibility, the Sword of invincibility…"

"You're right, he is better." Kai snigggers and the two try to keep themselves from laughing. Cinder roll his eyes at them.

"...the Blade of Ruin."

"Aye, Zane. And to add to your colorful account, there are many more swords, but it wasn't until Morro and his allies commandeered Nya's Samurai Mech that it all became clear. It's the Sword of Sanctuary, protected in the Cloud Kingdom." Misako said

"Heh, Cloud Kingdom? I know every square inch of Ninjago. There ain't no place called the "Cloud Kingdom." Ronin said

"You're right, it isn't in Ninjago. It's in a parallel Realm that can only be reached through the Blind Man's Eye." Wu said

"The Blind Man's Eye? You mean the powerful storm cyclone above the clouds? But its altitude is far too high for the Bounty to reach." Nya said

"Unless we ascend the tallest mountain in Ninjago. The Wailing Alps." Misako said

"Yes, the Wailing Alps. When the Blind Man's Eye passes its peak, you ninja will jump into the eye of the storm using Airjitzu to cross over into Cloud Kingdom to take possession of the Sword of Sanctuary." Wu said

"Whoa, whoa, Sensei, you're throwing around some big words here, but I think you got one wrong. It's Cyclon-Do, not Airjitzu." Jay said

Everyone groans.

"So this Sword of Sanctuary that we're after, what makes it so special?" Cole asked

"It's special because reflected within its blade, you can foresee your next opponent's next move." Wu imparts

"And whoever gets it will have a huge advantage. Lights please." Misako said andvNya turns the lights on. "This is about more than finding the next clue to the Spinjitzu Master's Tomb. This is about saving my son. You cannot fail."

"Then let's gear up. We have one mountain to climb." Kai said

They take off to the mountain. The four stood on deck as they got closer to the mountain range.

"It's getting really cold." Jay said and shivered

"Freezing if you ask me." Kai agrees

"Boys, we need you down below." Nya said and they followed her down below. A few minutes later they were in the bay room, each in their mechs standing over the hatch. Each ninja wearing snow gear over their deepstone armor. Cinder sat next to Nya as she talk to the four ninja.

"Without your mechs, you'll never be able to survive the extreme conditions on your own. I've also installed headsets into your hoods for easy communication. Try it out."

"Tell me Zane, how tall is this mountain?" Jay said

"The precise elevation of the Wailing Alps be well over three Leagues and twenty eight Fathoms." Zane answered and the blue ninja sniggers

"Zane's so much cooler."

"Remember, once you get to the peak, you'll only have one shot to shoot the Blind Man's Eye. Don't miss." Ronin said but Cole sighs

"I don't know, guys, you had time to practice. Maybe I should sit this one out."

"Don't even think about it. You may be a Ghost, but you're still part of the team." Kai assured him

"And if it weren't for you getting the first clue, we wouldn't even be here." Jay said

"So what are you gonna do, Cole? Are you in, or out?" Nya questioned and Cinder watched his brother think it over, but then his hands solidified and latch onto his mech's control handles. Cinder grinned a little smile as his brother's confidence boosted

"Open the hangar doors." Cole said and everyone moved back from the hatch. Before Cinder could move back he was halted by Wu, who gave him a communication device as well. Cinder was confused.

"You're going with them as well. Your mastery over water will be useful to aid the ninja against ghosts."

Cinder nodded and jumped up onto his brother's mech.

"Opening hangar doors!" Ronin shouted as the hatch started to open up.

"Whoo-hoo! Haha. Is anyone else getting a tingling feeling?" Jay said

"Yeah. Frostbite." Kai said

"Drop 'em!" Ronin demanded and their mechs were released and the four ninja and dragon fall towards the ground.

"Ninja, snow!" Everyone yells as they cheer, but Cole falls into the snow. Cinder falling off.

"Cole, are you okay?" Kai asked and the black ninja groaned

"Gotta work on that landing. Hey, you sure you want me along? I can hardly control my new body, let alone this piece of metal?"

"Hey, we all have our bad days. We'll pick you up so next time you can return the favor." Jay said

"Jay be right. The only way we're gettin' up ye mountain is if we be a hardy crew." Zane said

"This isn't about who's a ninja, a Nindroid, a dragon, or even a ghost. Above all else, we're brothers. And as iron sharpens iron, brother sharpens brother." Kai said and Cole smiled

"All right, brothers. Let's do this."

The four mechs trekked their way up the mountain. The cold and wind hitting their faces like knives. Cinder however, being a purple dragon, his body was handling the cold because of his Ice element.

"Heh. Not so bad when you get the hang of it." Cole said after a hour of trekking.

"So this Sword of Sanctuary. You really think you can see all of your opponents' attacks? If we had that kind of power, not even Morro could stop us." Jay questioned

"But if Morro got his hands on it, nothing would stop him, which is why we cannot fail. We just have to keep climbing." Kai said and groaned in annoyance. "Ugh, Zane. How much further is it to the top?"

"Thar be a long way. At least a hundred thousand steps up." Zane answered

"A hundred thousand? Good thing I'm not counting." Kai said but hears Jay counting

"267, 268, 269, 70, 71, 72, 72—oh, look, a little goat!" Jay exclaimed

"That's not a goat. Don't you remember? We rode one of those." Kai said

"It's got horns. It's a goat." Jay argued

"Even giraffes have horns. And that's not a goat. It's a yak." Kai said

"A yak? No way. Maybe it's a cow." Jay said and Cinder burst out laughing hysterically. Cole laugh along with his brother.

"I'm about to have a cow." Kai said grumbling

"Arr! Look! Tracks!" Zane exclaimed

"Maybe another yak?" Kai questioned

"Or a cow!" Jay blurted out

"P.I.X.A.L. has analyzed ye tracks. We not be the first ones to climb this pass today." Zane said

"You think it was Morro?" Kai questioned

"Who else is crazy enough to be at this altitude. If he's ahead of us, we're bound to cross paths." Jay said

They hear a wailing sound.

"What's that sound?" Cole questioned

"Wind gusts! Anchor down!" Zane exclaimed and everyone grabbed onto the ground, but the wind was too strong. Making them slide down a bit.

"Hold on, everyone!" Kai shouted but Cole couldn't.

"I can't hold on!":Zane catches him with his grappling hook. "That was close. I owe you one."

"Come on, there's still a lot of mountain to go." Kai said as they got up and continued moving. But after another hour of climbing there was another sound and they stopped

"Now what's that sound?" Jay questioned

"Another gust?" Cole said but everyone's eyes widened when they saw was coming towards them.

"Worse. Avalanche! Here it comes! Hold on!" Kai yells as their mechs were hit and being pushed down the mountain.

"I can't control my mech!" Cole said panicking

"Me either." Jay said as well

"The avalanche is too strong." Kai said as Cinder jumped up into the air to avoid it. He scans the situation to see what he can do. But the snow was going very fast, so he stayed in the air and did not get into the snow himself.

"No!" Jay yells as his mech hits a boulder, breaking it apart. He uses one of the pieces as a sled.

"Jay, take my hand!" Cole shouted as he tried to hold his hand but he passed through it.

"Concentrate, Cole!" Jay said while Kai jumps off and grabs a tree branch.

"I got it. Hey, guys, I—whoa!"

The branch breaks and Kai lands on top of Jay.

"Blimey, I'm trapped." Zane exclaims

"What do I do? What should I do? What do you do, Cole? You don't give up." Cole said as he possesses a snowball and grabs the others before they fall off. Cinder was speechless at this

"Whoa, Cole, is that you?" Jay said amazed

"Just picking you up to return the favor." Cole said

"You possessed the snow." Kai said as Cole let go of his possession.

"Yeah, I guess I did." Cole said smiling

"Haha! First we get Cyclon-Do, then we get a ghost on our side!" Jay exclaimed

"'Tis good to see you smile." Zane said

"All right, so we're down three Mechs, but we're up in spirit. Still. How are we gonna catch up? We lost a lot of ground." Kau said and ponders

"How about we see what else I can do?" Cole says and then possesses Zane's mech and starts climbing. Cinder following them up on his own.

"Whoo-hoo!" Jay cheered

"It's like your possession has given his mech boosters." Kai exclaims

"Boo-sters? That some sort of Ghost joke?" Cole said and the dragonet laughs

"Haha, glad to see your sense of humor hasn't changed." Kai said grinning but was amazed by how fast they were climbing.

"Whoa, Cole, you've transformed it into a spider mech."

"You know, this Ghost thing isn't that bad after all." He said

"Ah. The Hanging Temple. We're not far." Kai said relieved

"Ghoultar fight!"

Cinder looked up to see Soul Archer aim an arrow at them.

"Incoming!" Jay yelled as then Kai gets hit by a ghost arrow

"Ugh!"

"Kai!"

"No! No, no, no." Jay said frantically but the red ninja gets up, unharmed.

"The armor really works. I didn't turn into a Ghost." He said but then their mech gets yank up towards the ghost mech

"Morro's getting away!" Cole said

"And you're not!" Bansha screeches and the ninja barely dodge the icicles.

"Who's ready for some exorcise? 'Cause we're about to do some exorcism." Kai says

"Now that is a Ghost joke." Cole says and looks at his brother. "Bro! Go after Morro, we'll catch up!"

"Ok bro. Take care of these poltergeists." Cinder said and flew after Morro. Fortunately for him he has an advantage against the ghost. So he flew around the icicles and looked for him. Then another gust came in and he have to stay in place to not go off course, but he could see Morro.

"Stop it! It's me that controls the wind! Stop! " Morro grunts but tne wind stops and he pants. "That's better."

"Roar!" Cinder dived in and hit Morro, who growled in annoyance .

"You! You can't fight me with possessing your friend? Are you going to hurt him?"

"Actually, I do." Cinder shot a blast of water at him. The ghost's eyes widened and dodged it

"Come on. There's no time to lose." Kai said below. Cinder grinned

"Maybe you'll be losing after this."

"Ah! There he is! As well as Cinder! We're still in this race." Jay exclaimed Morro kicks off an icicle, and the ninja use their Aeroblades as a shield.

"We can do this. We're almost there!" Kai said as Jay slipped but was caught by Cole, who helped him up. But then the blue ninja finds his areoblade

"Hey! I knew it'd come back to me!"

"We're gonna miss the Blind Man's Eye!" Kai exclaims

"Oh, no. All this way for nothing." Jay said but then the wind starts wailing again.

"We'll never make it in time!" Zane said

"We will if we do one thing." Kai said

"Cyclon-Do!" Jay exclaimed

C"But I've never practiced it. What if I don't make it? What if I just blow off the mountain?" Cole said worried

"Don't worry. We'll catch you. Just trust us." Kai said and successfully did Airjitzu. "I did it! I did Airjitzu! Now you try!" Jay and Zane use Airjitzu as well and get up to the red ninja. Cinder could see his brother was apprehensive, and thought he was going to die. But thanks to Kai's encouragement, the ghost ninja was able to do Airjitzu and got up to the others.

"Oh! We did it!" Jay exclaimed

"Look! The Blind Man's Eye!" Kai said

"We've got one shot." Zane said

"Brother sharpens brother." Cole said and Cinder nodded

"Cyclondo!" Jay shouted as they went into the storm, which started to drift away.

"Did we make it?" Kai said, shaking his head. The others groan as they sit up.

"The Cloud kingdom." Jay said as everyone looked at their surroundings. They were in front of multiple temple structures. Cinder looked at the architecture as they walked up the steps.

"Now, let's find this Sword of Sanctuary." Jay said

They then approach the gates of Cloud Kingdom. Standing in front of them was a man wearing monk robes. The man smiled as they walked up to him.

"Welcome to Cloud Kingdom. We've been expecting you."

"Ha, how are we—" Jay was cut off

"Standing on a cloud? Easy. In other Realms, there are other rules. I'm Fenwick. I've been asked to show you around." The man answered

"Nice to meet you. I'm—" Kai was also cut off

"Kai, yes, we all know. You're quite popular with the other monks. Up here, we see everything that goes on in Ninjago.." Fenwick said

"Then you know—" Cole said but also got cut off.

"You've traveled far for the Sword of Sanctuary, a powerful weapon that can foresee your opponent's next attack. It's also the second clue to finding the Tomb of the First Spinjitzu Master."

"Blimey. But how be you—" Zane said but was cut off as well. Cinder kept his maw shut, knowing the man would answer his question.

"Finishing your sentences? I know, it's rather annoying, but up here we know, let's just say...we know what's going to come next. Come, I know Morro isn't far behind. Follow me and I'll explain." Fenwick said and leads the group into the library, where the monks are writing on scrolls.

"Wow, it's the ninja." A monk said

"And the Purple Dragon as well!" Another spoke

"I know you're familiar with a few of the realms. Cloud Kingdom is just one more of the Sixteen Realms that exist parallel to Ninjago." Fenwick said

"Sixteen Realms?" Kai questioned

"In this realm, we strive for greater understanding and let go of distractions. There is no television, no video games—"

"No video games? Hmmph. Not impressed." Jay huffed in disappointment

"It appears all any lad does here be writing." Zane points out

"That is because here, our words matter. You see, in Cloud Kingdom, we are the Writers of was here that it was decided that Lloyd should be the Green Ninja. And just now, Zane should find his voice again." Fenwick explained

"I sense my vocal pattern has returned without any repairs." Zane said happily and Jay groaned

"Ugh! He doesn't talk like a pirate anymore."

"How'd that happen?" Cole said astonished

"It was written." Fenwick stated simply

"More like playing god." Cinder snorted but the monk ignored it.

"Hey, guys, he's writing about Dareth!" Jay said but accidentally spills ink on the scroll. Cinder just watched the scene take place and shook his head. Knowing that there are people that write their destinies feels weird to him, especially that his kind as Purple Dragons can change the destiny of their world.

"Oh, poor Dareth!" The monk said devastated and Jay nervously laughs.

"If you know what's going to happen next, then you know how important it is for us to get the Sword of Sanctuary." Kai said

"Yes, and I know you made a promise to save your friend Lloyd. Sadly, we cannot ensure promises, because we aren't allowed to choose sides." Fenwick said and leaned in and whispered "And no one else will tell you this, but we had intended for Morro to stay in the Cursed Realm."

"What do you mean "intended?"" Cole questioned

"He was never supposed to escape. He somehow defied destiny. And now we're playing catch up." Fenwick said and turned to Cole. "Do you think we wanted you to become a Ghost? That's preposterous. Ever since Morro broke free, things have been happening outside of our control. To be honest, we don't know how this will end."

"Then quit talking and give us the sword. We'll find the tomb and stop Morro." Kai said frustrated

"Look, we wanted to give it to you, but first, the Master Writer wants to see you." Fenwick said and Kai grumbles but nods his head.

"Fine, then show us to this "Master Writer.""

Fenwick smiled and led them out the library to a skiff. They got on it and the boat started off towards another building.

"So this Master Writer, he'll decide if we get the sword just by looking at us?" Cole asked

"It is an important decision, one that will not only decide the fate of Ninjago, but the fate of the Sixteen Realms." Fenwick said

"Do you know what's inside the tomb?" Kai questioned

"I do. Morro's after the Realm Crystal. It's the doorway to the Sixteen Realms." The monk said

"Wow!" Jay exclaimed

"It is a bridge to greater understanding...or a gateway to ruin. When the First Spinjitzu Master created it, he knew the power to freely cross realms could never fall into the wrong hands, which is why he buried it with him in his final resting place. A tomb protected by impossible traps that only a Master of Spinjitzu could get by with the aid of the Sword of Sanctuary." Fenwick stated

"But I thought Morro just wanted to be the Green Ninja. What does he want with the Crystal?" Cole said

"It is not Morro who sees the power to ruin, but his master, the Preeminent." Fenwick stated

"The Cursed Realm. He's in charge?" Kai said

"Not he, but she. Queen of the Cursed, an evil so vengeful, she cannot crossover by any other magical means. But if Morro uses the Crystal to free her, after cursing Ninjago, there will be no stopping her reign until every last Realm falls under her control." The monk explained but soon arrived at a building. "We're here! Wasn't that a lovely ride?"

"Yeah, you paint a lovely picture." Kai said suspiciously as they walked upto the building. Cinder can tell the red ninja was skeptical and decided to sneak away from them and took flight, going way high and landed on top of the building. He watched the monk taking them in.

"Now if you just wait in here, I will be back with the Master Writer in a moment." Fenwick said and the ninja walked in and Fenwick locked the door. After a few minutes he went up to where the sword was.

"Thank the Ascentors for Ignitus telling me where the sword was at. At least he writes about my destiny and not these writers."

He took off into the air and flew towards the sword's resting place. He soon landed on the platform and padded his way into the building. The dragonet walks in and sees the sword on a pastoral shelf. Its golden blade sheen in the light from the windows behind it. He walks up to it and grabs the handle of the sword. Looking in its blade he could see what's going to happen in a few minutes, so he grabbed it and went into a shadow to hide and wait. He then watched as Morro entered the room with his reaction being confusion and rage.

"Argh! Where's the sword!? He said it was here?"

Cinder silently came out of the shadow and readied the sword as he aimed. Then with a silent squeak he launched, and struck Morro in the back. Shoving him into the wall and the dragonet moved back, far enough so the ghost couldn't get him. Morro turned around angry.

"You!" He notices the sword in the dragonet's claws. "You got here without Fenwick? Thought he'll distract you and the ninja?"

"Well Kai was suspicious of him, but I was also tipped off as well by someone I know."

"Who?" Morro demanded and Cinder snarled at him.

"Why should I tell you?"

"Grrrrrrrr!"

"Bro!"

Cinder turned his head slightly to keep his focus on Morro as his brother and the others came in.

"Ah! You forgot about Cinder Morro." Jay said confidently

"Indeed, he's the wild card of the team." Cole said

"Cin, get it out of here, we'll keep him distracted. Hopefully that will get you enough time to escape." Kai orders and the dragonet runs out and took flight and flew away.

"Hold on to your buckets, gang. Looks like the ride ain't over yet!" Cole yelled as the team went through the eye on a skiff. Cinder was flying ahead of them rapidly, trying to get to Morro's skiff. He was able to get the sword away from Morro but was being chased by the archer with his arrows. But the other ghost, a female, was using her screech to try to disorient him but he used his Fear element to conquer it. But it was long enough for the dragonet to get blown off course and dropped the sword from his grasp. Now they're following after Morro on his skiff as they entered back into Ninjago but falling towards the ground. With a thud their skiff landed on the ground and began to slide down the mountain.

"Ah! Why aren't we flying anymore!?" Jay exclaimed but soon they had caught up to Morro.

"Aha! Got you now!" Kai exclaims

"You really think so?" Morro blows his skiff in another direction. The team was flabbergasted by this and continued speeding down the mountain. That was until…

"Abandon ship!" Zsne yelled as their skiff's course led it into a tree, destroying it. It was quiet for a few minutes and Morro smirked thinking he got rid of them. However…

"Whoo Hoo!l

Morro turned his head to see the ninja coming behind him as the ninja caught up with him on ski's from the broken debris of their skiff.

"Ah! Haha. Hello, haven't we met before?" Zane said gleefully after he jumped over the ghost's skiff.

"Don't they ever quit?" Morro snarl

"Your ride is kind of slow, huh?" Kai said cockily but ran into a tree. Then someone screamed, which belonged to Jay, who was riding in the front part of the skiff. Cinder sat with the blue ninja in the "sled".

"Oh, why do I get the uncontrollable sled!?"

"Weeeeeeee!" Cinder shouted with excitement as they went down row mountain. Suddenly he was pulled down as a ghostly arrow zoom by.

"Haha, you missed!" Jay exclaims with a grin.

"Don't jinx it Jay." Cinder said but then ducks as the arrow came back. Jay did the same but eyes widened as it chased after them. It was getting closer and closer to their "sled". Jay screams as the arrow was about to hit them, but collides with a log instead.

"Phew. Hahaha."

Splash!

"Hey! Watch it!" Jay exclaims angrily as he and Cunder get hit by a water balloon. The dragonet shooks his head from the water as the team continues skiing down the mountain. He then sees another ghost landed on the skiff and somehow was slowing it down, which confused him but shakes his head at the weirdness.

"Need a lift?" Wu said as he hung on the anchor of the Bounty. That surprised the dragonet from seeing their teacher popping up. Everyone but Kai climbs on.

"Go! I can catch them." Kai said and everyone climbed up the anchor to the deck. Cinder stretched his body out as the ship tried to follow the red ninja and skiff.

"Oh, I've lost sight of Kai." Jay said

"Keep following them." Wu advised

After a couple of minutes of following they then see a spinning vortex coming up to reveal Kai. The red ninja was grinning, the Sword of Sanctuary in head. Everyone cheers.

"You got the sword, but how?" Wu questions astonished

"How else? Working together. Lloyd fought Morro like a true hero." Kai said with a smile

"If Morro defied destiny, then why not us?" Cole said

"He may have gotten Airjitzu first—" Zane was cut off

"Uh-uh, you mean Cyclondo?" Jay interrupted and the Nindroid sighs

"But we got the sword!" Cole declared and everyone cheered.

"Now all we have to do is find the tomb, then it's smooth sailing." Wu said

"But who here knows where the tomb is?" Ronin points out

"Oh, man." Cole groaned

"Come on, you all seemed so confident!" Ronin exclaimed
