Chapter 34: Hero Training

At Master Fu's, Sam and Faang was sitting down with Master Fu and Wayzz.
"So you really want Rena Rouge to be a more frequent hero?" Fu asks.
"I know you said more Miraculous owners out is risky, but I believe Rena Rouge can be an amazing addition to the team." Sam said.
"What do you think Faang?" Fu asks.
"I trust Sam, his judgement may be driven by emotions, but he always knows what's right in the end. I think this is a good idea." Faang nods.
"Very well." Walking to the record player Master Fu unlocks it to reveal all the Miraculous Box.
"Wow, look at all of them." Sam said impressed.
"Quite a collection, isn't it?" Master Fu asks as Sam grabbed the Fox Miraculous. "Maybe someday we'll find the right wielders for them too."
"Maybe, for now I'm fine with just this one." Sam said standing up.
"Remember one day a week." Wayzz said reminding them.
"We know we know." Sam said leaving.
At school, Alya was sitting at her desk with Marinette when Kim showed the classmates video footage of the 4 heroes fighting the Sapotis.
"Can you guys believe it? Another hero?" Kim said.
"And this one is female." Max said.
"Looks like Silver Claw finally has a partner." Juleka said.
"I wonder how he met her?" Rose asks.
"Yeah what do you think Alya, you must really want to find out where she came from?" Marinette asks.
"Oh yeah, I mean another female superhero. Who wouldn't want to find out more about her?" Alya asks.
"I think it's great Paris has another hero helping out." Adrien said.
Looking to the door, she saw Sam waiting for her causing her to smile.
"Anyway if I want to find out more about her I better get searching." Alya said walking out the door to Sam. "Did you get her? Please tell me you did?" Alya asks as they walked out.
"I did." Sam said tapping his pocket causing her to smile widely.
"Oh I love you so much." Alya said hugging him. "So what type of bad guys are we gonna face? Another victim of Hawk Moth?"
"Not today, today you're going on patrol with me, Ladybug and Cat Noir. If you want to be apart of our team you need to be able to work well with us." Sam said.
"Seriously? I get to hang out with Ladybug?" Alya smiles.
"Oh so you'd rather be a superhero with Ladybug rather than your own boyfriend?" Sam teases.
Alya giggles as she playfully shoves him as they walked down an alley.
Reaching into his pocket he opened the black box to reveal the Fox Miraculous and Trixx.
"Hey Alya." Trixx smiles.
"Trixx, aren't you a kwami for sore eyes." Alya smiles putting the necklace on.
"You ready?" Faang asks flying out of Sam's pocket.
"You try just try and keep up." Trixx smirks.
"Faang, Teeth Out!" Sam said as his bracelet glowed and he transformed into Silver Claw.
"Trixx, let's pounce!" Alya said as her necklace glowed and she transformed into Rena Rouge.
Running across the rooftops, Silver Claw and Rena Rouge landed on top of a building.
"I am not gonna lie, I am really loving this." Rena Rouge said.
"Being a hero does have its perks." Silver Claw said dialing Ladybug. "Hey Ladybug, you guys out on patrol too? Awesome, can you meet up with me? You're the best."
"So let me get this straight you hung out with Ladybug on a daily basis and you never once tried flirting with her?" Rena Rouge asks.
"Ladybug is amazing but she's committed to being a hero. Besides I like Rena Rouge much better." Silver Claw smiles.
"Aw. You're so sweet." Rena Rouge giggles.
A few minutes later, Cat Noir and Ladybug arrived, but before they did any superheroing Ladybug and Cat Noir wanted to ask Rena Rouge some questions.
"So, Rena Rouge what's the deal with you and Silver Claw are you really his partner?" Ladybug asks.
"Yep, like how your Miraculous are a pair mine and Silver Claws's are also a pair." Rena Rouge said.
"Okay but why do you look like Volpina?" Cat Noir asks.
"Well Volpina was originally based off my Miraculous, but not me. I'm the real deal." Rena Rouge said.
"Well Silver Claw, I'm really glad you brought the extra help. Maybe after you can take the fox and I can take Buggaboo out on a double date." Cat Noir smiles.
"Keep dreaming kitty." Ladybug said flicking him.
"I think I'm gonna like being a part of this team." Rena Rouge smiles.
Soon the group of heroes were on the lookout for trouble.
In the park, Rena Rouge looked up to see a cat up a tree.
"Really? This?" Rena Rouge asks looking at Silver Claw.
"Even the little things matter to some people." Silver Claw said.
Sighing Rena Rouge jumped onto the branches and grabbed the kitty before jumping down before handing it to the little girl.
"Here you go." Rena Rouge said.
"Thank you." The little girl said hugging Rena Rouge before running off.
"Okay…didn't mind that." Rena Rouge smiled.
Soon racing through town was a runaway bus and this time all 4 heroes were chasing after it.
"Rena Rouge keep the civilians out of the way!" Ladybug said.
"Cat Noir let's stop this thing!" Silver Claw said as they leapt into action.
Throwing her yoyo, Ladybug made a giant net between two signs while Cat Noir and Silver Claw threw their sword and staff stopping the bus from the back causing it to stop the second it hit the yoyo net.
"Wow you guys did all of that so well…and without my help at all." Rena Rouge mutters.
"I know everything we do is awesome but the number one thing above anything else is making sure no one gets hurt. You kept the public away from this and that means you're on the right track." Cat Noir said.
"Got it. People come first." Rena Rouge nods starting to get the hang of this.
In another part of Paris, a fire was going nuts as the fire department arrived while Cat Noir extended his staff from the roof while Ladybug helped the civilian down it.
"Come on people, one at a time." Ladybug said helping a woman slide down.
Down the hall, Rena Rouge and Silver Claw were searching the rooms.
"Are most patrols like this?" Rena Rouge asks.
"Yeah Paris has a lot of crime." Silver Claw said as he kicked down a door to see two parents, a little boy and a baby trapped in a small corner of the room.
"Please help us!" The father said.
"Hang on!" Rena Rouge said as Silver Claw throws his sword to the ceiling allowing him to jump up and grab onto it before reaching out of the family.
"Alright you first." Silver Claw said grabbing the little boy before throwing him across the room to Rena Rouge who caught him.
"Alright give me the next one!" Rena Rouge said as Silver Claw tossed the mother and baby to her.
As Silver Claw reached for the father the floor was about to give out when the father leaped at him and grabbed his arm before getting them to safety.
Taking the family to the window they evacuated everyone before the fire department put out the flames.
"Okay that was a close one. A little scary back there." Rena Rouge admits.
"We can protect ourselves but they can't. We have to make sure we do everything we can to help people. Ladybug said.
"Being a hero is tough." Rena Rouge said.
"If it was easy anyone could do it." Cat Noir said.
"But I know you can." Silver Claw said causing her to smile.
Finally, at the sight of a bank robbery, the criminals were making their way out of the bank with no sign of the police or the heroes.
Turning to a van the criminals ran to it and tried to open it but once they touched it, they fell through it revealing the van to be an illusion.
"Sorry boys, but the only place you're going is jail." Turning around they saw Rena Rouge standing behind them.
Pointing across the street they saw their actual getaway van was being towed and the driver was tied up by Ladybug.
"All yours boys." Ladybug said as Silver Claw and Cat Noir leaped in from the roof and knocked the criminals to the ground just in time for the police to show up.
As the criminals were being escorted away Rena Rouge took a deep breath.
"Whoo and I thought defeating akumatized villains was tough." Rena Rouge said.
"Well it was only your first day." Silver Claw said.
"You did really well. You're a really fast learner." Cat Noir said.
"Thanks guys." Rena Rouge smiles.
"They're right Rena Rouge, I think you have a real future on this team." Ladybug said causing her to smile widely as Ladybug held out her fist for a fistbump.
"Pound it!" The four of them said.
"Thanks guys I won't let you down." Rena Rouge said before she and Silver Claw left.
"So looks like it's just us." Cat Noir leans in.
"Nope, just you." Ladybug said leaving.
After a long day of patrol, Sam and Alya were sitting down at his place while Faang and Trixx were eating beef jerky to recharge.
"So this is why you always carry a bag of jerky with you." Alya realized.
"Yep, Faang loves this stuff and apparently so does Trixx." Sam said.
"Well wolves and foxes are from the same family in the animal kingdom so I guess it makes sense." Alya said.
"Yep that's why Trixx and I make such a great team." Faang said.
"Hey when I first met you guys said that the last Silver Claw and Rena Rouge were a couple too." Sam said.
"Yep it's a funny story, they spent so much time together, like another couple I know." Faang teases.
"You think you could tell us a bit about them?" Alya asks.
Faang and Trixx look at each other and smile.
"You see Faang and I met when our previous owners were entrusted to us at the Order of the Miraculous."
Flashback:
High in the snowy mountains, was an enormous temple.
Upfront a beautiful teenage girl with long black hair tied in a ponytail wearing temple robes was sweeping the front and around her neck was the Fox Miraculous, this was Kimiko.
Flying up behind her was Trixx.
"Hey Kimiko I heard the master is coming back today." Trixx said.
"He is, that's why I'm making sure he comes back to a clean temple." Kimiko said unaware that she was being watched.
From behind the door a teenage boy with short brown hair also dressed in temple robes, but with the Wolf Miraculous on his arm was watching her, this was Han.
"Whatcha looking at Han?" Faang asks flying up behind him startling him.
"Faang, why do you always have to sneak up on me?" Han asks when Faang peeks out to see Kimiko up front.
"You know if you like Kimiko I would say talking to would be much better than just staring at." Faang said.
"What would I even say?" Han asks.
"Anything." Faang said pushing him out the door towards her.
"Uh Kimiko." Han said getting her attention.
"Yes?" She asks turning to him.
"I…uh." Han stutters causing Kimiko to giggle when an old man with red robes walked out.
"Kimiko, Han I have something to show you both." He called out.
"Coming Master." Kimiko said as she was about to leave when Han grabbed her hand. "Han?"
"Kimiko I uh…I really like you and I was hoping.." Han stutters.
Behind their wielders, Faang and Trixx roll their eyes before giving them a little help. Moving them nudged the back of their heads causing Han and Kimiko to kiss surprising them.
When they separate both of them were looking at each other with blushes on their faces.
"Is uh that what you wanted to say?" Kimiko asks.
"M-More or less." Han said.
Smiling Kimiko took his hand before they headed inside to meet the Master and by his side was a young boy.
"Han, Kimiko I would like for you both to mee the newest member of the Guardians, Fu." The Master said.
Both Han and Kimiko look at the young boy who didn't look very happy to be here.
"I expect you both to help him in his studies." The Master said.
"Of course Master." They both nodded.
Flashback End:
"Funny I remember you pulling that same trick with me when Alya was hit by Dark Cupid's arrows." Sam smirks.
"Old habits die hard." Faang chuckles.
"So you two are like little cupids." Alya smiles.
"In a way." Trixx said.
"Hey Sam, you never did tell me why were you chosen to wield a Miraculous?" Alya asks.
Sam opens his mouth to answer but didn't give one. "You know I actually don't know why I was chosen."
"Then how did you get Faang?" Alya asks.
"Well on the day I moved here and was about to start my first day of school I saw an old man lying in the middle of the road, if a car came by he would have been run over, so I went over and helped up before walking him across the street to safety and as it turned out that old man was the one who gave me your Miraculous." Sam explains.
"Well maybe you should ask him." Alya suggests.
"You know what I will." Sam said kissing Alya before she turned to Trixx.
"See you again soon?" Trixx asks.
"Absolutely." Alya nods before taking off her Miraculous and handing it to Sam.
"See you tomorrow." Sam said as he took Trixx and went back to give her to Master Fu.
Looking to her phone, Alya decided to make an update to the Ladyblog.
At Master Fu's Sam handed Master Fu back the Miraculous.
"I have to say, this was very successful." Sam said.
"Excellent news, perhaps Rena Rouge will make an amazing hero someday." Fu said putting the Miraculous away.
"Hey, do you mind if I ask you something?" Sam asks.
"Depends on the question." Fu said sitting down across from him.
"Why did you choose me to have the Wolf Miraculous? I mean you had Ladybug and Cat Noir, why did you need me?" Sam asks.
"I admit Ladybug and Cat Noir were doing quite well, but I just knew that they could be better and on the day I saw you were a new land all alone without a pack to call your own just like a real wolf. You see while the wolf is strong by himself but when he's with others he's even stronger. Tell me when you got Faang, weren't you happier?" Fu asks.
"Well yeah. When I got Faang I met so many friends and Alya. This little guy is a good friend." Sam smiles rubbing Faang's forehead.
"Thanks buddy." Faang smiles.
"When you saved me that day I knew you would make a perfect Silver Claw." Fu smiles causing Sam to smile.
Meanwhile on phones and computers Alya was posting her newest entry.
"Hey everyone Alya here with a latest update. Paris has a new hero and her name is Rena Rouge! Like Ladybug and Cat Noir, Silver Claw has his own partner." Alya said showing footage of Rena Rouge fighting the Sapotis and helping in all the incidents on patrol.
During the footage of Rena Rouge saved the little girl's cat someone paused as they zoomed in on Rena Rouge's Miraculous.
Zooming out we saw Lila was looking at Rena Rouge with an outraged look on her face.
'Are you kidding me?! I was the original fox superhero and Ladybug stopped me, but when she shows up she's automatically labeled a hero! She even has the same necklace Miraculous!' Lila thought outraged before slamming her laptop shut.
Making her way to the dresser she picked up the necklace copy she used when she became Volpina and growls.
"I'll show you Rena Rouge, Volpina is the only fox hero anyone needs. I'll find you and then I'll take the real thing." Lila vows.
