Chapter 35: Rena Rouge vs Volpina
Hey everyone I'm back with a new chapter. I've been wanting to do this fight for a long time and I was really bummed out this never happened during the show. I hope you like what I have planned. Please Review and Enjoy.
At school, Marinette and Alya were walking down the hall to class.
"So Marinette you know that big fancy menu tasting Chloe always brags about at her dad's hotel?" Alya asks.
"Ugh I hate that." Marinette groans.
"Well you'll love it when I tell you this. My mom managed to get us a table for 4. Imagine the look on Chloe's face when she sees us there." Alya smirks.
"Alya you're the best. Wait 4? I'm guessing you're gonna ask Sam to come too?" Marinette asks.
"Yep and there's room if you want to invite Adrien too." Alya causing Marinette to smile.
"Adrien? I would get to have dinner with Adrien?" Marinette squeals.
"Oh boy." Alya rolls her eyes as she walks into class.
Just outside, Sam was walking back from Master Fu's house, with Trixx in his backpack with Faang.
"So wait for a few hours every day you have to sit in silence while humans sit in a boring classroom?" Trixx asks bummed out.
"I'm afarid so." Faang sighs.
"Alright keep it down you two. After school, we'll meet up with Alya and have some fun." Sam said as he entered the classroom to see Adrien waving for him.
"Hey Sam, where were you?" Adrien asks.
"Sorry I got a little held up." Sam said.
"You said you wanted to ask me something?" Adrien reminds.
"Oh right, so Alya got us a table at the Le Grand Paris Hotel's menu tasting, want to join us?" Sam asks.
"Sure, I don't have anything scheduled so I'd love to." Adrien smiles as the two girls sat down when Nino came over.
"Hey guys did you hear the news? Rena Rouge is officially part of Ladybug's team." Nino said.
Sam looked to Alya who smirked pretending to be oblivious. "Oh man I have got to get an interview for the Ladyblog." Alya said.
"Yeah she's getting as much popularity as Ladybug and Cat Noir when they started off." Adrien said as the four of them sat down. "What do you think Marinette?"
"Amazing." Marinette sighs clearly focusing just on Adrien.
"Marinette? Marinette? Hey!" Sam said clapping his hands in front of her face snapping her out of it.
"What? What? I'm fine." Marinette stutters causing the three of them to laugh when Ms. Bustier walks in.
"Alright class, settle down." She said as they all took their seats. As Alya looks to Sam he winks before sliding the box into Alya's backpack causing her to smile seeing it was that time of the week.
Meanwhile, at Lila's house, she was on her computer trying to find anything on Volpina but everywhere she looked she kept seeing pictures of Rena Rouge everywhere.
"Rena Rouge, Rena Rouge, what's so special about her? I could have been a million times better heroine than her." Lila mocks when she sees a picture of Rena Rouge, Silver Claw, Ladybug and Cat Noir fist-bumping causing her to growl in anger.
At his base, Hawk Moth saw the whole thing. "Ah jealousy, the rage of seeing someone else be better than you in the one thing you want more than anything else in the world." Hawk Moth grins as he turns a butterfly into an Akuma. "Fly away my little Akuma and get me back an old ally."
In Lila's room, the akuma flew into her fake Miraculous necklace.
"Hello Volpina." Hawk Moth said telepathically.
"Hawk Moth, I was wondering when I would hear from you again." Lila grins.
"Rena Rouge is a fad, a fad that needs to end so that Volpina can take the spotlight. I will give you your powers and you will use this to take the real Fox Miraculous for yourself and then use your new powers to get Silver Claw's Miraculous." Hawk Moth orders.
"Looks like this time the fox will hunt the wolf." Lila said as she transforms.
After class, Sam and Alya were walking out front as Alya put the necklace around her neck and Trixx popped her head out of her backpack.
"Ugh! Today was so boring! Seriously, Faang, how can you put up with this every day going to school with Sam?" Trixx whines.
"Sam puts his tablet in here and I use it to play the games he has saved on it." Faang said popping out of his backpack.
"Maybe next week I should hang in Sam's bag instead of Alya's." Trixx said.
"Hey you two get off easy. We have to take classes." Alya chuckles.
In the middle of Paris, all the citizens were going about their business when Volpina appears out of nowhere and runs all the way to the top of the Eiffel Tower.
"Last time I was here, Ladybug humiliated me, this time she won't even be able to stop me." Volpina said taking out her flute and playing a melody before swinging it creating throwing her illusions all over the city.
Suddenly, Sam and Alya's phones went off with news alerts.
Opening their phones they look to see Naida on the news.
"This is Nadia Chamack coming to you live where multiple crimes are happening all over Paris! The police are scrambling to keep up with it all but are having no such luck." Nadia said as they showed footage of fires, bank robberies, and property damage.
"So…transform?" Alya suggests.
"Absolutely." Sam said as they ran down an alley. "Faang, Teeth Out!" Sam said as his bracelet glows and he transforms into Silver Claw.
"Trixx, let's pounce!" Alya said as Trixx went into her necklace and she transformed into Rena Rouge.
Driving in his car, Adrien was heading towards the Le Grand Paris Hotel as he talked to Natalie.
"Alright Adrien, I spoke with your father and he is fine with this since he'll be too busy, but you are to come straight home afterwards." Natalie said in the screen.
"Thank you, Natalie." Adrien smiles when an explosion went off startling him and his bodyguard.
Looking over they saw a building collapsing nearby.
Using the chaos as a distraction, Adrien ran out of the car and down the subway stairs.
"Wow this city is just falling apart." Plagg said coming out of his jacket.
"Let's get to work. Plagg, Claws Out!" Adrien said as his ring glowed and he transformed into Cat Noir.
With Marinette, she was sighing happily as she imagined dinner with Adrien, when she heard Police Sirens blazing in the distance.
"Sounds like trouble." Marinette said.
"You thinking what I'm thinking?" Tikki asks as Marinette nods.
"Tikki, Spots on!" Marinette said as her earrings glowed and she transformed into Ladybug.
Running on the rooftops, Ladybug looked to see where the trouble was coming from.
"Ladybug!" Looking to the right she saw Cat Noir running nearby before looking to the left to see Silver Claw and Rena Rouge.
"You guys heard it too?" Ladybug asks.
"You'd have to be deaf to not hear this." Silver Claw said.
"What is going on?" Rena Rouge asks.
"I don't know but we'll need to split up to cover more ground." Ladybug said.
"We better move fast." Silver Claw said as the four heroes ran off.
Up above, Volpina smirks seeing her plan was going as planned.
In one area, Cat Noir arrived to see criminals robbing a bank and loading the money into their van.
"Hey give that back!" Cat Noir said running after them as the van drove off, but when he turned a corner, he saw the van had disappeared. "What the?" Suddenly he heard an engine and saw the van driving in the opposite direction. Growling in annoyance Cat Noir chased after them.
With Ladybug, she was running to the bridges to see people drowning in the waters below.
"Help! Help!" They screamed trying to stay above the surface.
"Hold on!" Ladybug said throwing her yoyo down to catch them but couldn't catch of them for some reason. "What the?"
With Silver Claw, he was trying to stop a wild car chase but couldn't keep up with them.
Finally, as Rena Rouge ran towards an accident, she was about to check for any injured civilians when she noticed something off about all this.
"Wait a minute." Rena Rouge looks at the accident closely and for a second her eyes glowed and she gasps. Taking out her flute she whacks the cars and they all disappeared. "Illusions! These aren't accidents, it's an Akuma! I gotta warn the others!" Rena Rouge said before running off.
Looking at her from above Volpina narrows her eyes. "I can't let her ruin things for me." Taking out her flute Volpina plays a note and another Rena Rouge appeared.
As Silver Claw ran down the street he saw Rena Rouge running towards him.
"Rena Rouge, what's going on?" Silver Claw asks as she ran up to him.
"It's these accidents they're not accidents they're—"
"Stop right there you fake!" Turning around they saw another Rena Rouge ran over.
"What the heck?" Silver Claw said surprised as they both stopped in front of her.
"Don't listen to her, she's a fake!" One said.
"Takes one to know one." The other snaps.
As they argued Silver Claw looked to both of them and suddenly got an idea. "Alright which one is the real Rena Rouge?"
"I am!" They both said.
"Alright I guess there's only one way to figure this out…both of you kiss me." Silver Claw said.
"Okay." One Rena Rouge smiles while the other showed no reaction.
As she leaned in and kissed him on the lips Silver Claw smiled as he turned to the second one but she hesitated and instantly with a swing of their flute and sword she was destroyed.
"How'd you know I was the real one?" Rena Rouge asks.
"Only you kiss me like that." Silver Claw smiles causing her to giggle. "So what's going on?"
"They aren't real crimes, they're just illusions. Someone is causing all this chaos." Rena Rouge explains.
"Illusions? Wait how can you tell?" Silver Claw asks.
"I'm not sure, but I think my Miraculous has an ability that makes my eyes sharper than normal." Rena Rouge said pointing to her necklace.
"We have to find Ladybug and Cat Noir." Silver Claw said dialing them up.
A few minutes, later the four of them meet at Trocadero.
"Illusions? So none of these are real crimes?" Cat Noir asks.
"Someone is pulling the strings." Rena Rouge said.
"And I think I know who." Ladybug glares looking up.
Turning around they saw Volpina looking down at them.
"Volpina." Silver Claw and Cat Noir glare.
"So you figured me out again? You always seem to know how to drive me crazy Ladybug." Volpina glares.
"What is it this time? I haven't done a thing to you." Ladybug said.
"Not true. You let her join!" Volpina said pointing to Rena Rouge.
"So in other words you're jealous that Rena Rouge is a better hero than you ever were." Silver Claw said.
"No she isn't!" Volpina snaps. "There's only room in Paris for one fox hero in Paris and that's me! Rena Rouge I challenge you for the Fox Miraculous!"
"Don't do it. We can take her together." Ladybug said but Rena Rouge steps forward.
"No, this is between me and her. You guys stand back." Rena Rouge said drawing her flute approaching the Eiffel Tower where Volpina was waiting for her.
"What do you think Ladybug?" Silver Claw asks.
"Lucky Charm!" Ladybug throws her yoyo into the air and from it a flute appeared. "A flute?"
"Guess your Lucky Charm has spoken." Silver Claw said.
"Yep, it's all up to Rena Rouge now." Ladybug sighs.
Taking out her flute, Volpina jumps down to meet Rena Rouge on opposite end of the lower floors.
"So you're not hiding behind your illusions?" Rena Rouge asks.
"And miss the fun of taking your Miraculous for myself? Not a chance." Volpina said as she and Rena Rouge charged at each other and swung their flutes clashing in the middle.
Rena Rouge swung her flute but Volpina ducks and elbows Rena Rouge in the gut before whacking her with her flute.
Volpina leaps at her and dives down but Rena Rouge rolls out of the way and delivers a kick knocking Volpina to the ground.
As both Fox girls pick themselves up Volpina runs to Rena Rouge and the two exchange punches and kicks before Volpina whacks Rena Rouge in the side with her flute causing her to cringe and drop to her knees. Grinning Volpina thinks she was winning until Rena Rouge lunges at her pushing her towards the edge.
"Give up now!" Rena Rouge said pushing Volpina closer to the point of falling.
"Not on your life!" Volpina pushes Rena Rouge back and kicks her in the chest making her stagger back.
Rena Rouge looks up to see Volpina leap onto the metal beams and takes out her flute playing a tune causing multiple Volpinas to appear.
"I watched you and realized you can only make an Illusion once, but I can make as many as I want." Volpina smirks as they all surrounded Rena Rouge.
"I'll admit that is a letdown, but it doesn't matter how many illusions you make if none of them work." Rena Rouge smirks as the Volpinas attacked her.
Using her flute, Rena Rouge swats them away making them disappear until there were only 3 left.
Rena Rouge leaps at them, but they jump to the upper levels. Looking at them closely Rena Rouge saw the real Volpina hidden among them.
Leaping to the higher levels Rena Rouge hides behind a beam to catch her breath.
"You can't stall forever. You can't stop my illusions!" Volpina declared.
'I may be able to see the real Volpina, but none of it matters if I can't get to her…but what if she came to me?' Rena Rouge thought before getting an idea. "Mirage!" Rena Rouge said as her necklace glowed and she played something on her flute.
From the top floor, Volpina looked around for any sign of Rena Rouge.
"Where are you?" Volpina asks.
"Hey Volpina!" Rena Rouge calls out getting her attention. "You win alright! I can't beat you, so just take my Miraculous and end this!" Rena Rouge said as Volpina turned around to see a hand holding the Fox Miraculous out to take.
As a grin appeared on Volpina's face, Hawk Moth saw this and grinned.
"Take it Volpina and the rest of the Miraculous shall be mine!" Hawk Moth said as Volpina walked over.
"Good to see you finally see things my way." Volpina reached to grab the Miraculous but the second she did the Miraculous disappeared revealing it to be an illusion. "What?!"
Turning around she was met by a powerful punch to the face by Rena Rouge who knocked her down onto the bottom rails.
Volpin groans in pain as she tried to get up but Rena Rouge steps on her chest stopping her before reaching down and taking off her pendant.
"H-How did you?" Volpina groans.
"My Miraculous gives my eyes to the power to see through illusions, guess Hawk Moth's powers only get you so far." Rena Rouge said as Ladybug, Cat Noir and Silver Claw appear behind her. "You lose." Rena crushes the pendant in her hands releasing the Akuma.
"No more evil doing for you little Akuma. Time to de-evilise!" Spinning her yoyo, Ladybug caught the akuma turning it back into a butterfly. "Gotcha! Bye-bye little butterfly. Miraculous Ladybug!" Ladybug throws the flute into the air undoing all the illusions and turning Volpina back into Lila.
"Pound it!" The four heroes said fist bumping.
As Lila picks up her pendant, she looks up to see Rena Rouge and Ladybug looking down at her.
"Sorry, but I plan to stay." Rena Rouge crosses her arms.
"Lila, I suggest you go home and let this go." Ladybug said.
Growling Lila walks past them making her way home.
"Rena Rouge, today you went above and beyond today." Ladybug said.
"I just did what you guys would do." Rena Rouge said.
"Well I want to give you something." Ladybug takes out her yoyo and sends Rena Rouge a message that she receives on her flute.
"Wait is this?" Rena Rouge asks.
"My personal phone number. I only give this to people I can trust, like Cat Noir, Silver Claw and you." Ladybug smiles causing Rena Rouge to smile widely.
At his base, Hawk Moth was equally angry at this failure.
"Curses! It seems Rena Rouge isn't such a novice after all. Now I have to deal 4 heroes from now on! Enjoy this victory while you can, I'll get all your Miraculous soon enough!" Hawk Moth vows.
At the Le Grand Paris Hotel, Sam and Alya were riding up the elevator to the restaurant and Alya was so happy.
"I can't believe I beat Volpina and got Ladybug's phone number. This is the best day ever!" Alya smiles.
"You earned it, Alya you were amazing today." Trixx said popping out of Alya's pocket.
"I agree. You picked a keeper, Sam." Faang smiles.
"Yeah I really did." Sam smiles as Alya pecks him on the cheek.
The elevator opens to reveal Marinette sitting at their table.
"Hey guys!" Marinette waves as they walked over and sat down. "I was worried I got here too early."
"Thanks for getting us a good table." Sam said.
"Yeah you actually managed to get here before us." Alya giggles.
"There you are." They turn to see Adrien walk up the stairs. "I hope you all weren't waiting for too long." Adrien was about to sit down when Sam quickly switched so he was next to Alya. "Oh uh is this seat taken?" Adrien asks moving towards Marinette.
"Yes. I mean no I mean uh have a seat." Marinette stutters as Adrien sat down next to her.
As their first course was brought to them the four of them looked to each other and smiled about to enjoy a fun night together.
