Chapter 39: Alpha Claw
Hey everyone I'm back with a new chapter. This one I had to really put some thought into. For this one I used one of my favorite places in all of Paris. I hope you like what I have planned. Please Review and Enjoy.
It was the day of Ms. Mendeleiev's Science Experiments and everyone in class was on edge since their projects was worth a good chunk of their grade.
"Oh man I'm so nervous." Kim said checking his work when Sam walked in with his project.
"Don't worry Kim, you did all the math right. I checked it." Max said.
Placing a box on his desk, Sam turned to Marinette who was acting all fidgety with Alya trying to calm her down.
"Marinette, chill you got this." Alya said assuring her.
"I hope so. I cannot afford to get a bad grade on this." Marinette said.
"Really none of us can." Sam said when Alya noticed the box.
"Whoa is that the big project you've been working on?" Alya asks.
"Yep. No way I'm gonna fail with this." Sam smiles taking out a strange object made of pipes. "It's a homemade compressed air cannon. It stores up air and fires it all at once to blow objects back."
"Oh kinda like those T-Shirt cannons you see at games." Adrien said walking in.
"Yeah but mine is a little stronger than a t-shirt cannon." Sam said setting it up and when he placed a stack of books in front of it the cannon blasts the air knocking all the books down causing everyone to cheer.
"Very impressive." Max said.
"Thanks Max, I've been working weeks on this thing." Sam said.
"Where'd you get the idea for this?" Adrien asks.
"You know the way Sam blew away those books kinda reminded me of Silver Claw's Moon Call." Alix said.
"Life is just funny that way." Sam said nervously as Chloe walked in.
"Big deal. All I see is a mini leaf blower." Chloe mocks.
"Leaf blower or not, still looks better than your volcano. What is this 3rd grade?" Sam mocks causing the class to burst into laughter as Chloe growled in anger.
"Alright class, take your seats and put your projects on the table." Ms. Mendeleiev said walking in.
Walking over to the table Sam grabbed his air cannon he placed it down with the others before walking to his seat.
Walking past Chloe, he smirks causing her to glare before dropping her project on top of his and when she pulls it off, she didn't notice a decent piece of Sam's project is chipped off.
As the class started, everyone presented their projects to the class Ms. Mendeleiev was mildly impressed.
"Okay, Samuel Noctis, you're up." She said as Sam walked over and got his project.
"Alright mine is about compressed air. My project releases the air at once creating a powerful force. Like so." Sam aims it at the stack of books expecting the same results as before but when he pulls the trigger the entire thing breaks into pieces shocking him and everyone around him. "Wha? How did this happen? It worked earlier."
"Well it didn't work this time. Sorry Sam but because you fail the first portion." Ms. Mendeleiev said grading him.
"Please you gotta believe me, you guys saw it work a few minutes ago." Sam said looking to the class.
"It's true it did." Marinette said trying to help.
"Sorry Sam but if I didn't see it I have no choice but to fail you." Ms. Mendeleiev said.
"Wow looks like your project doesn't just blow it sucks too." Chloe mocks causing Sam to growl in anger.
At his base, Hawk Moth saw the whole thing and grinned.
"Ah humiliation. The pain of having to put in so much time and effort only for your hard work literally blow up in your face. The perfect prey for my akuma." Hawk Moth said turning a butterfly into an akuma. "Fly away, my little akuma and evilise him."
At the school, Faang was watching as Sam tosses all the pieces of his project in the garbage except for the trigger.
"Sam it's just one bad grade. It's not the end of the world." Faang said.
"Faang I was humiliated. I even talked trash to Chloe I was so confident and now I'm a laughing stock." Sam groans as his bracelet started to slip off.
Faang looks at his partner in sadness when he gasped seeing the Akuma. "Sam look out!" Faang calls out.
Racing in Faang tried to help but the akuma entered the trigger causing Faang to gasp as he grabbed the Miraculous before it was too late.
"L-Leave me alone." Sam growled.
"But I want to help you. Do you think it's fair that you suffered for something that wasn't for your fault? That you were made to feel beneath everyone." Hawk Moth asks.
Sam wanted to fight it off but part of him deep down thought he was right.
"Alpha Claw, I am Hawk Moth. You don't deserve to be treated this way. You deserve to be at the head of the pack with everyone else beneath you. The very powers they mocked will be your strength and all I ask in return is the Miraculous of Ladybug, Cat Noir and Silver Claw." Hawk Moth said as Sam was about to reach for the bracelet only to see it was gone.
"Fine." Sam said as he transformed.
Flying through the school, Faang panted heavily. "Oh no, what do I do? I have got to be the worst kwami ever." Faang said.
In Ms. Mendeleiev's class, Adrien had just finished his project and was walking up to see Sam's seat was still empty.
"Hey Marinette, Alya do you think we should go check on Sam?" Adrien asks.
"He was pretty crushed. He had a lot of hope riding on that project." Marinette said.
"I'll check on him after we go up." Alya said.
"Alright who's next?" Ms. Mendeleiev asks when suddenly a blast of air blew the door open startling everyone as from it Alpha Claw walked in wearing a black and silver costume with a black headband covering his eyes, a wolf tail, a machete strapped to his hip and a cool air blaster strapped to his left hand where the trigger was.
"That would be me." Alpha Claw grins scaring everyone.
'S-Sam?' Alya thought horrified.
"Listen young man I don't who you are but I will not—"
"Quiet you! I don't take orders from the likes you! The Alpha gives orders and I order you all on your knees!" Alpha Claw fires a powerful blast of air.
Acting quickly Adrien tackled Marinette and Alya under a desk before the blast of air blew everyone to the back of the room.
"Time to show all of Paris who's really in charge." Alpha Claw said running out.
"Are you two alright?" Adrien asks picking himself up to see Marinette was right under him.
"Uh yeah…I'm great." Marinette sighs.
"Thanks for the save Adrien." Alya said.
"We better get out of her before he blows away the rest of the school." Adrien said as he ran out.
Alya was about to follow when she noticed Faang waving at her from behind the stairs causing her to gasp.
Running into the locker room, Adrien let out Plagg.
"Wow akumatized over a school project? It's weird to be passionate about such a thing." Plagg asks.
"Says the guy who's passionate about camembert." Adrien said.
"Guess we'll be playing a game of Cat and Dog." Plagg sighs.
"Plagg, claws out!" Adrien said as his ring glowed and he transformed into Cat Noir.
Running into the girl's bathroom, Marinette ran into a stall.
"Oh man I can't believe Sam got akumatized. He always seemed to have a level head." Marinette said.
"No one's perfect Marinette, but he's your friend we have to save him." Tikki said.
"You're right. Tikki, spots on!" Marinette said as her earrings glowed and she transformed into Ladybug.
Running to the stairs, Faang landed in Alya's arms.
"Faang what happened?" Alya asks.
"It's Sam, Hawk Moth turned him into Alpha Claw." Faang said.
"I wish I had Trixx, if I did I could help." Alya said when she noticed a conflicted look on Faang's face. "Faang?"
"Oh I could get into lots of trouble for this but…" Faang pauses before realizing what he had to do to save Sam. "Alya give me your phone."
Alya took it out and Faang plugged an address into her GPS. "What's this place?"
"Where you need to go if we want to help Sam." Faang said causing her eyes to widen as they ran out.
In the middle of the streets, Alpha Claw was staring down Roger and his police force.
"You have the right to remain silent!" Roger said through a megaphone.
"And you have the right to get out of my way." Alpha Claw said sending the police car flying towards them.
The police braced themselves for impact when yoyo flew in and stopped the police car.
"Is everyone okay?" Ladybug asks jumping in.
"Ladybug?" Roger smiles.
"Sir do you mind if I take it from here?" Ladybug asks.
"By all means." Roger said as Ladybug turned to Silver Claw.
"So I have a challenger?" Alpha Claw asks.
"I'm only gonna ask this once. Stop what you're doing." Ladybug said spinning her yoyo.
"Ladybug is the biggest obstacle that stands in your way. Defeat her and no one will dare challenge you." Hawk Moth said telepathically.
Alpha Claw aims his blaster at Ladybug who dodges all the blasts of air shot at her before swinging her yoyo around his legs. Pulling with all her might Alpha Claw drops to the ground.
Drawing his machete, Alpha Claw slices the rope cutting him free before charging towards her.
Jumping back Ladybug dodges but Alpha Claw kept up his attack moving like an animal on the hunt.
Swinging his foot Alpha Claw kicks Ladybug in the gut knocking her to the ground.
Ladybug looks up to see Alpha Claw about to strike when a staff flew in blocking his machete.
"Is there room for one more?" Cat Noir smirks revealing himself before swinging his staff knocking Alpha Claw back.
"About time you showed up." Ladybug said standing up.
"I'm just the handsome dashing kitty who comes to save his beautiful Bugaboo whenever she needs him." Cat Noir winks.
"Yeah except I'm the one who usually saves you." Ladybug teases.
As Alpha Claw glares down both heroes they drew their weapons ready to take him on.
At Master Fu's, Fu was sipping a cup of tea when he heard a knock at the door.
"Come in." He said when the door opened to reveal Alya.
"Uh excuse me sir?" Alya asks closing the door.
"Do you have an appointment, young lady?" Fu asks.
"I'm not here for an appointment." Alya said as Faang flew out of her bag holding the Miraculous.
"She's with me, Master Fu." Faang said causing his eyes to widen.
"Faang, what is the meaning of this? You know you cannot bring outsiders here." Fu snaps.
"Please, it's an emergency. I need Trixx to be Rena Rouge." Alya begs.
"So you're the girl Sam keeps talking about." Fu said putting down his tea before walking to his record player. "I convinced Sam to only let you use it once a week. If too many Miraculous holders are out it could pose as quite a danger."
"I know but Sam's been akumatized by Hawk Moth." Faang said getting his attention.
"I'm sorry but you will have to leave it to Ladybug and Cat Noir." Fu said turning to them.
"What? No, I can't. Look I cannot just stay on the sidelines while my boyfriend is being controlled by Hawk Moth." Alya said.
Fu looks to Alya and when he saw the serious expression on her face he saw the face of his old friend Kimiko in her.
"How do I know I can trust you to return this?" Fu asks.
"Because Sam needs me. If I can help him I'll come right back." Alya vows.
Old feelings getting the better of him, he opens the record player and takes out the Fox Miraculous.
"Faang must stay with me, and when you save him I expect you both to come back here immediately." Fu said handing her the necklace.
"I understand." Alya said putting it on.
"Good luck, Alya." Faang said.
"Thanks Faang." Alya said before running out. 'Hang on Sam, I'm coming.'
On the rooftops of Notre Dame, Alpha Claw was fighting off both Ladybug and Cat Noir.
Swinging his staff, Cat Noir whacks Alpha Claw down into the catherdral.
"Good thing we're here because you're about to hear bells ringing!" Cat Noir said slamming his staff down but Alpha Claw rolls out of the way and blasts hit across the cathedral.
Throwing her yoyo, Ladybug caught him before he smashes into the wall.
"Any idea where his akuma might be?" Cat Noir groans.
"It must be in that thing he has strapped to his arm." Ladybug said.
"But how are we gonna get close to him?" Cat Noir asks.
"Here kitty, kitty!" Alpha Claw aimed his blaster when suddenly Rena Rouge runs through the front door and whacks him in the face causing his attack to blast a hole in the roof clear to the bell tower.
"You guys need some help?" Rena Rouge asks.
"Rena Rouge." Ladybug smiles as she puts Cat Noir down.
Alpha Claw glares Rena Rouge down and readies his machete.
"Sam, I know you're in there. This isn't you." Rena Rouge said.
"Yes it is." Alpha Claw glares.
"No, it isn't. You're not a bad person, you're nice, caring, strong. You don't need Hawk Moth." Rena Rouge said.
"I-I don't?" Alpha Claw asks softly.
"Don't listen to her Alpha Claw, she just wants to bring you down like everyone else. Destroy her!" Hawk Moth orders.
Growling in anger Alpha Claw charges at Rena Rouge who blocks his machete with her flute.
"Lucky Charm!" Ladybug throws her yoyo into the air and from it, a gong mallet appeared. "A mallet?"
"Maybe you're supposed to find a job as the new bell ringer." Cat Noir jokes as Ladybug looks around getting an idea and looks up to the bell tower.
"Hmm not a bad idea. Help Rena Rouge and meet me at the top!" Ladybug said running to the bell tower.
Throwing down, Alpha Claw tries to slice Rena Rouge in half but she jumps back causing his machete to slice into a church pew bench.
'I know you're in there Sam. I'll get you out.' Rena Rouge thought before whacking him in the shoulder with her flute causing him to skid back right as Cat Noir's staff whacks him into a stain glass window.
"Rena Rouge, this way." Cat Noir said leading her up to the bell tower.
Looking up, Alpha Claw growls before following them.
At the top of the bell tower, Alpha Claw was looking around for any sign of the heroes.
"Come heroes. Come out, come out wherever you are." Alpha Claw growls when he sees a shadow around the corner. Grinning he moves quietly before jumping around and swings his machete but ends up slicing the head off a gargoyle.
"Hey Alpha Claw!" Turning around he saw Ladybug, Cat Noir and Rena Rouge near the center of the tower. "Come and get us!"
"With pleasure." Alpha Claw aims his blaster and fired blasts of air at them but they dodged it with ease before Alpha Claw charged in and stabs Ladybug.
Grinning he thinks he won when Ladybug disappears revealing her, Rena Rouge and Cat Noir were illusions. "What?"
"Now Cat Noir!" Ladybug said as Cat Noir ran up towards the bells.
"Cataclysm!" Cat Noir's ring glows as black energy surrounds his hand.
Touching the support holding the bells they dropped down around Alpha Claw trapping him.
Using the gong mallet, Ladybug whacks the bell causing them all to ring loudly around Alpha Claw causing him to hold his ears in pain.
Moving in Ladybug throws her yoyo around Alpha Claw's arm as Rena Rouge moves in and whacks the air blaster releasing the akuma.
"No more evil doing for you little akuma. Time to de-evilise!" Ladybug throws her yoyo capturing the akuma turning it back into a butterfly. "Gotcha! Bye-bye little butterfly. Miraculous Ladybug!" Throwing the gong mallet into the sky it undid all the damages and turned Alpha Claw back into Sam.
"Pound it." Ladybug, Cat Noir and Rena Rouge said fist bumping.
Sighing Sam looks up to see Rena Rouge holding out a hand to him.
"You okay?" Rena Rouge asks.
"Honestly, no. I totally messed up." Sam admits.
"No one's perfect. We all have something that can get under our skin." Ladybug said.
"Well except for me." Cat Noir smirks.
"Everyone makes mistakes, now you can learn from this." Rena Rouge said when their Miraculous started to beep.
"Looks like that's our cue." Ladybug said.
"See ya later." Cat Noir said as they ran off leaving Sam with Rena Rouge.
"So you gonna explain how this happened?" Sam asks.
"Let's just say you're not the only one in trouble." Rena Rouge cringed.
At Hawk Moth's base, Hawk Moth was enraged at another failure.
"Curse you Ladybug, you may have won this battle, but I am the true Alpha and I am gonna prove it to you." Hawk Moth vows.
At Master Fu's, Sam, Faang, Trixx and Alya were sitting down as Fu was glaring at them.
"You three have some explaining to do." Fu said.
"It was all my fault. I got akumzatized because I let my anger get the best of me and Alya and Faang risked everything so they could save me. If you have to punish anyone, punish me." Sam said.
"No, I brought Alya here despite your orders. I'm the one to blame." Faang said.
"You risked losing your Miraculous, told someone our secrets and almost lost everything." Fu said.
"I know." Sam sighs expecting a punishment when Fu walks up to him.
"You can't let your emotions get in the way of what's right. I made that mistake once…you know the way you two act remind me of some old friends of mine." Fu smile.
"So what's gonna happen now?" Alya asks.
"Now that you know who I am trust that I am gonna be keeping an eye on you especially when you stop by to pick up Trixx." Fu said surprising them.
"Wait I get to come here now to get my Miraculous?" Alya asks.
"No point in making Sam run around anymore." Fu chuckles.
"Oh thank you thank you." Alya smiles.
Walking out of Fu's place, Sam and Alya walked home.
"Alya I can never thank you enough for saving me." Sam said.
"You saved me when I was Lady Wifi and when my sisters were Sapotis." Alya said.
"Still what if he had taken away Trixx? I know how much you love being a hero." Sam said.
"Yeah but there's something I love even more." Alya said kissing Sam on the lips causing him to smile.
"You are the best." Sam said hugging her close.
"Don't worry, I'll help you get your grade back up." Alya said.
"Thanks, I got a feeling I'll need it." Sam said as they walked away.
