Chapter 54: Animaestro

We find ourselves in Marinette's room as she and Tikki were watching a trailer on her tablet.
"She's scared of cats, but powerless without this feline and this lone wolf." The announcer said as they showed a movie with Ladybug, Cat Noir and Silver Claw.
"That is so not true. I'm not scared of cats and when is Silver Claw a lone wolf? He loves working with me and Cat Noir." Marinette said annoyed.
"Cat Noir, Silver Claw and Ladybug: three heroes facing their destiny. Coming soon to theaters." The announcer said.
The image changed to reveal a large man with black hair and a beard, this was Thomas Astruc, the director of the film.
"The real Cat Noir and Ladybug won't be able to make it to tonight's premiere, but I hope that they'll love my movie as much as we love them." Thomas said.
"I'll be the judge of that." Marinette smirks.
"You turned down an invitation to the premiere?" Tikki asks.
"I'm a superhero, Tikki, not a star. It's my job to protect the city, not sit around at a movie premiere." Marinette said.
"Well said Marinette." Tikki said when they watched Nadia appear on screen.
"The premiere will be attended by many illustrious guests including the rockstar Jagged Stone, the famous fashion designer Gabriel Agreste and his teen idol son and voice of Cat Noir, Adrien Agreste." Nadia announces causing Marinette to gasp.
"Adrien?! Adrien's gonna be there? Oh no! Ladybug so should have said yes." Marinette groans causing Tikki to giggle.
Later that day at lunch, Marinette was sitting with her parents as Tom was going over a list.
"So we've got six hundred macarons plus eight hundred petit fours not to mention the Ladybug, Silver Claw and Cat Noir tiered cakes." Tom lists.
"We should have hired someone to help us serve all these guests at the premiere." Sabine said getting Marinette's attention.
"Do you mean the premiere for the Ladybug, Cat Noir and Silver Claw animated movie?" Marinette asks.
"Yes." Tom said causing her to gasp.
"Me, me, me! I can totally help you out with that." Marinette said excited almost dropping her plates but her dad caught them.
"You mean as a server?" Tom asks.
"Yes. I'll hand the macarons out to Adrien. I mean to everybody, of course. Not just Adrien cause Adrien's not the only one who likes macarons." Marinette said pretending a fruit bowl was a tray and wobbles trying to keep it balanced.
"And the fact that Adrien is going to be there has nothing with it, of course." Sabine teases.
"Not a thing. Like, not in the slightest. I just want to help out my wonderful sweet parents who I love so much." Marinette said but she ended up dropping the fruit bowl causing her parents to look at each other causing Marinette to frown. "You guys don't trust me. Then again, I'm such a klutz. Even I wouldn't trust me."
Bending down Marinette went to get the oranges from the bowl before standing up.
"Of course you're not a klutz, my darling. You're hired. We'll just…" Before Tom could finish Marinette gives him a big hug.
"Oh, thank you! You're the best parents in the world!" Marinette said dancing out of the room when a crashing sound echoes.
"We'll just make twice the number of macarons. Just in case." Sabine said.
In Marinette's room, Marinette was spinning around excited.
"This is going to be such an amazing night! I need something amazing to wear. And last, but definitely not least, the amazing macaron." Opening a drawer, Marinette reveals a specially wrapped macaroon.
"Er, don't you think your father's 800 macarons will be plenty?" Tikki asks.
"No Tikki. Adrien deserves a special macaron to show him just how special he is. To me. Just picture it! He's expecting a regular macaron, but I give him this macaroon. He takes one bite and says oh Marinette, it's passionfruit my favorite. How do you know me so well when I'm so secretive?" Marinette asks doing that last part in Adrien's voice. "So then I answer, it's because you're so special to me, Adrien. I feel like I've known you forever! So then he says to me—"
"Wait. Is that why you bake a single macaroon every Sunday?" Tikki realized.
"Who knows when the perfect opportunity is going to come up? And Adrien cannot have a stale macaron." Marinette said.
"Of course not." Tikki said.
At the movie theater premiere, Nadja was outside on the red carpet as many celebrities including Jagged Stone arrive.
"Don't be bemused, it's just the news. Nadja Chamack coming to you live from the premiere we've all been waiting for: the brand-new animated movie of the adventures of Cat Noir, Ladybug, and Silver Claw. The gorgeous Laura Nightengale, who sang all the songs in the movie, has just arrived." Nadja said as Laura walked in.
"Good evening, Laura! I'm your biggest fan." The doorman said as Thomas walks up. "This is a private event, sir."
"Huh? Excuse me? I'm Thomas Astruc, the movie director." He said showing his badge.
"You filmed Cat Noir, Silver Claw and Ladybug? What are they like in real life?" The doorman asks excited.
"Uh, it's an animated movie. It's all cartoon characters. We don't actually film anyone. See, there's this whole team that draws the chara—" Before Thomas could finish the doorman interrupts him.
"Whatever. Who would want to see Ladybug, Silver Claw and Cat Noir as cartoon characters?" He said waving him in.
Suddenly everyone heard excited chattering as Nadja spots two figures running across the rooftops.
"I don't believe, is that who I think it is?" Nadja smiles as Silver Claw and Rena Rogue jump down on the red carpet.
"Hi, hope I'm not too late." Silver Claw said.
"It's Silver Claw and Rena Rouge!" Nadja said as the paparazzi took photos of them.
"Hi great to see you all." Rena Rouge said as they walked in.
"Thanks for having us." Silver Claw said as Nadja walks up to them.
"Silver Claw, Rena Rogue will Ladybug and Cat Noir be coming to the premier?" Nadja asks.
"Sadly, Ladybug's answer is still no and I have heard no word on Cat Noir, but frankly what's the point of having a movie about yourself if you don't go see it?" Silver Claw asks.
"Truer words have never been spoken Silver Claw." Nadja said.
"And I'm his plus one." Rena Rogue smiles.
"Well we are thrilled to have actual superheroes at our premier." Nadja said allowing them in.
"I can't believe Ladybug said no to this." Rena Rogue whispers.
"You know Ladybug, all work no play." Silver Claw said.
"I gotta admit though, it's pretty cool doing this." Rena Rogue said.
"I'm just glad they both said no or I wouldn't be able to invite you." Silver Claw said as Marinette looks over.
"Oh man, Silver Claw had the right idea." Marinette mumbles wishing she showed up as Ladybug.
"So put your thumbs here and look straight ahead." Tom said handing her an empty tray.
"Uh, shouldn't there be macarons on the tray?" Marinette asks.
"Yes, yes. We'll put them on as soon as you're ready." Sabine said.
"Dad, Mom! I am totally ready. Trust me, I'll be super-duper careful." Marinette assures.
Taking her empty, tray they give Marinette a tray full of macaroons allowing her to walk out.
"Oh, our little girl's spreading her wings." Tom smiles.
Almost tripping over her feet, Marinette fumbles trying to catch herself going past Jagged Stone and Thomas.
"Ladybug is one of my best buds. I can't wait to see her movie." Jagged said excited.
"Well, I'm the director, so actually it's more my movie, so to speak." Thomas corrects.
"Oh, so you're the one who created the story?" Jagged asks.
"Well, technically the screenwriters wrote the story, inspired by Ladybug's exploits." Thomas said.
"Oh, ok. So you did all the drawings?" Jagged asks.
"No, no. The animators do all the drawings." Thomas said.
"So what do you do then?" Jagged asks.
"Well I—" Before Thomas could explain Marinette tumbles in but luckily Jagged caught her.
"Woah. Hey Marinette!" Jagged smiles. "Now she can draw. She does it all herself. Just check out these groovy sunglasses here she made." Jagged said pointing the shades on his head.
"Well, that's impressive." Thomas said.
"She even designed my album cover." Jagged said.
"Er thanks. Uh Macaroons?" Marinette offers.
Thomas was about to take one but multiple hands came in and took them all before he got one.
As Marinette walks back she was about to get a new tray when she fumbles when two hands caught the tray.
"Whoa, girl that would have been messy." Rena Rouge said revealing she caught the tray.
"Wow, you're Rena Rouge." Marinette said while her parents gasped.
"The one and only." Rena Rouge smiles.
"You saved my macaroons." Tom said.
"It's no trouble." Rena Rogue said taking one to eat as Silver Claw walks over.
"May I?" Silver Claw asks.
"Please help yourselves." Tom said.
As the two heroes grabbed a snack multiple people looked over.
"Wow the real Silver Claw and Rena Rouge." A girl said.
"They're so cool." A man said.
"It's nice to see that heroes can be just like us when they have the chance." Tom said as the two heroes walked away.
"It really makes us think they're just like the rest of us." Sabine said.
"Yeah…I guess so." Marinette said when Adrien walks in causing her to gasp.
"Uh oh, she's seen him." Sabine said nervously.
Reaching into her pocket, Marinette puts her special macaroon on the tray. "Adrien, you're so normal to me. No, special to me. Oh, I'll never get it right." Marinette said trying to get it right.
Seeing her, Adrien waves at her causing Marinette to nervously wave back but as she did her special macaroon fell off and rolled across the floor. "Oh no."
Nearby Thomas was talking to Silver Claw and Rena Rouge.
"I gotta say it's an honor to meet you two in person." Thomas said.
"I'm the one who's honored. I never thought I'd have my own movie." Silver Claw said.
"You must have put a lot of time and work into making sure they nailed all the details on our costumes and abilities." Rena Rouge said.
"Well, actually the animators and sketch artists took care of the details." Thomas said.
"Either way, fingers crossed we like the me you put in this movie." Silver Claw said when Chloe walks in.
"Silver Claw, Rena Rogue so glad to see my fellow heroes." Chloe said before looking to Thomas. "You! Go fetch me a chocolate macaron, but make sure it's dark chocolate, not milk chocolate. Got that?"
"Uh Chloe, he's not a butler he's the director of the movie." Rena Rouge said.
"Oh, really? So you're the one responsible for this movie?" Chloe points.
"Yes, yes! Exactly! That's me!" Thomas said excited someone realized who he was.
"Then you were the one who left Queen Bee out of the trailer. You're lame, utterly lame." Chloe mocks.
"Chloe, don't you think you're taking it a little far?" Rena Rogue asks.
"Not far enough, you should be on my side you weren't even mentioned in the trailer either. We are heroes of Paris." Chloe said as Marinette walked around nearby trying to find her macaroon when she spots it near Silver Claw's feet.
'Oh man now I'm really starting to regret coming her like this.' Silver Claw thought when Marinette bumped into him.
"Whoa." Silver Claw said accidentally kicking the macaroon away.
"Silver Claw watch yourself." Chloe said pulling him away from Marinette. "I saved your life, you do not want someone like Dupain-Cheng running the premier for us."
"Pardon?" Rena Rogue narrows her eyes.
"Trust me you two, this girl is not worth your time." Chloe said when Marinette spots her special macaroon rolling away.
"Uh do you need a hand?" Silver Claw asks but Marinette crawls away just before Thomas could grab a macaroon.
"Actually, it's a really good thing you're doing the serving, Dupain-Cheng, because that means while I'm watching the movie with Adrien, you'll be washing dishes." Chloe laughs when Rena Rouge bumps a table nearby spilling a drink on Chloe. "Aah! Hey!"
"Whoops guess my hand slipped." Rena Rogue said.
Nearby Adrien watched Marinette crawling around to get her macaroon but everyone was kicking it everywhere.
He was about to go help her when Natalie walks over.
"Adrien, you're expected to welcome the Tsurugis." Natalie said as Kagami walks in wearing a red kimono and helping her mother Mrs. Tsurugi.
"Aha." Marinette said grabbing her macaroon when Chloe walks over and they spot Kagami.
"Oh no not her." They both said before looking at each other. "Huh? Stop it! You're copying me! Quit it! No, you quit it!"
Grabbing a macaroon, Marinette shoves it into Chloe's mouth.
"Do you know her?" Marinette asks as Chloe spits it out.
"I don't just know her, I despise her." Chloe said.
Flashback:
At the Hotel De Ville, Chloe walks in to see Kagami sitting next to Adrien.
"What do you think you're doing sitting next to my Adrikins? That's my seat." Chloe said poking Kagami.
Turning to her, Kagami glares daggers at Chloe.
"Don't ever touch me again. Don't ever speak to me again. Don't ever look at me again." Kagami threatens causing Chloe to back up startled.
Flashback End:
Nearby Rena Rouge and Silver Claw were listening in and holding back their laughter.
"Anyone who talks to Chloe like that is alright in my book." Rena Rouge said.
"Oh yeah, Kagami my respect for you just went way up." Silver Claw chuckles.
They were about to move in when a little tugged their outfits.
"Huh?" Looking down they saw the kid wanted their autographs.
"Oh sure." Silver Claw said signing it before handing it to Rena Rouge.
"Tell your friends." Rena Rouge said before they looked to see more people wanted either pictures or an autograph. "Uh Silver Claw?"
"Yeah…this is looking less fun." Silver Claw cringed.
Looking over Marinette and Chloe saw Natalie take out a tablet with Gabriel on screen.
"Kon ban wa Tsurugi-san. Dozo yoroshiku onegaishimasu." Adrien bows in respect and they bow back.
"Gabriel-san. Per our discussion at our last meeting, I've brought these documents." Mrs. Tsurugi said.
"Domo arigatou, Tsurugi-san." Gabriel said.
"Please follow me." Natalie said leading her away leaving Kagami with Adrien.
"'m glad to see you again, Kagami." Adrien smiles.
"Me too." Kagami smiles before noticing Chloe and Marinette glaring at her.
Narrowing her eyes, Kagami walks over and takes Adrien's hand before they walk away.
Growling Chloe tried to go after Kagami but Marinette held her back stopping her.
"Okay we need a plan." Chloe said in a huff.
"What do you mean, a plan?" Marinette asks.
Looking around, Chloe ran to the doorman and grabbed a seating chart from him and ran back.
"A plan! You know the seating chart for the theater." Chloe said before examining the list and gasps. "I don't believe this! Adrien and Kagami are going to be sitting next to each other while I'm two rows behind!? Utterly ridiculous!"
"Yeah, well, I don't even have a seat so…" Marinette said trying to sneak out of this.
"If we get rid of Kagami before the movie starts, there'll be an extra seat for you." Chloe offers.
"We can't do that." Marinette said.
"Remember what you once told me? All that is necessary for evil to triumph is that good people do nothing." Chloe recites causing Marinette to gasp. "Well today, the evil is her and the good people are us." Chloe points.
"I'm not too sure about this." Marinette said.
"Fine. Keep on not being sure about it and tomorrow, Adrien and Kagami will be on a plane headed for Japan." Chloe said.
"Adrien? Japan? There's no way!" Marinette panics.
"You think? They're already going to the movies together, their parents are signing papers together." Chloe points to Tsurugi stamping the papers for Gabriel causing Marinette to gasp.
"We can't let her do that!" Marinette declares.
Under the serving table, Marinette was looking through boxes trying to get everything they need for the plan.
"Marinette! Surely you're not gonna team up with Chloe?!" Tikki asks.
"I'm just stopping Kagami from kidnapping Adrien and taking him off to Japan. He's too nice to see what she's really up to." Marinette said.
"Marinette, if Sam and Alya were here they would strongly tell you not to do this." Tikki said.
"But they're not here." Marinette points out.
A few minutes later, Adrien and Kagami were talking while Chloe and Marinette were nearby.
"Alright let's see. Garbage bag, ladle and what?" Chloe holds up some string. "I asked you to get some rope!"
"All I could find was this cooking string. You know, for tying up roasts." Marinette said.
"Do I look like someone who knows anything about cooking roasts?" Chloe asks before leading Marinette to the counter.
Dumping some macaroons into the bag, Chloe ties up the bag and beats it with the ladle.
"Chloe we can't do this!" Marinette said shocked.
"Listen, Marinette! If we don't sacrifice a few macarons now Adrien is going to be eating sushi for the rest of his life." Chloe said.
As Marinette looks to Adrien, Chloe blows a bubble before spitting her gum into the ladle.
"You better not screw this up, Dupain-Cheng." Chloe said.
"I'm doing this for Adrien." Marinette gulps. 'Oh man where are Sam and Alya when I need them?'
Unfortunately, Silver Claw and Rena Rogue were being overwhelmed by little kids as their teacher walked up.
"Alright kids get together." The teacher said taking their picture. "Now say thank you to the heroes."
"Thank you." They all said before running off.
"Okay, maybe being a famous person at a movie premier was a bad call." Rena Rouge groans.
"Maybe Ladybug had the right idea saying no to this." Silver Claw groans.
"Hey can we get a picture?" A family asks.
Cringing both heroes were starting to think they would never get a break.
Soon Marinette was holding a tray of macaroons looking at Adrien and Kagami.
"Sorry Mom and dad." Marinette sighs before wobbling around spilling macaroons. "Whoa! Oh no, I'm so clumsy!" Marinette said falling to the ground.
"Marinette are you okay?" Adrien asks looking down.
"Perfect." Chloe grins grabbing a plate of cake and handed it to Jagged. "Hold this for me."
As Adrien helps Marinette up, no one noticed her put the gum near Kagami's feet.
"Thank you, Adrien." Marinette said taking out her special macaroon. "Here, Adrien. This is, uh, your favorite flavored macaron. Er, of course, I'm just guessing. I mean, how would I know, right?"
Moving her foot, Kagami ends up stepping on the gum.
Turning their heads, Silver Claw and Rena Rouge saw Marinette stuttering in front of Adrien.
"But people do sometimes prefer some things to other things so...here." Marinette said.
"Thanks Marinette." Adrien said taking it.
"Oh girl." Rena Rouge smirks.
"Somehow I knew this would happen." Silver Claw smirks when Chloe ran out and pulled her away.
"What were you doing with that macaron? That was not part of the plan!" Chloe said.
"Kagami is something wrong?" Adrien asks as Kagami lifts up her shoe to show the gum.
"These shoes belonged to my grandmother." Kagami said.
Looking over, Chloe grins. "Ha, this is part of the plan."
Walking over to get a chair, Adrien pulls it up only to reveal macaroon crumbs on the seat.
"Sit down, I'll help you." Adrien said.
"Uh you might want to grab a different one." Silver Claw said walking over.
"Huh?" Adrien looks down and gasps. "Oh man nice save."
"It's what I do." Silver Claw said as Adrien put Marinette's macaroon down and went to go find a new chair.
"Phase two." Chloe grins.
"I didn't realize heroes went to the movies." Kagami said as Rena Rouge walks over.
"Even heroes need a break." Rena Rogue said.
"Speaking of, if you need us please don't. We need some water." Silver Claw said causing Kagami to giggle.
"I thought Cat Noir was the funny one in your group." She smiles.
"He is…when he's around." Silver Claw said.
Waiting until the heroes walked away, Chloe took out the string as Marinette grabbed a movie poster of Jagged.
"Can you please autograph this for me, Jagged?" Marinette asks.
Nodding Jagged looks around and puts the cake on a chair before taking out a pen.
When Adrien finally finds a chair without crumbs on it, he brings it back but just before Kagami sits down Chloe yanks the cake chair in so it was right behind her.
"Kagami!" Mrs. Tsurugi calls out causing Kagami to straighten up avoiding the cake.
As they walked away, Thomas was being followed by some kids.
"But if you didn't make the story or the drawings, then you didn't do anything." A kid said causing Thomas to sigh and sit down in the cake seat. Looking up he sees Adrien's macaroon on the table.
Taking out of the wrapper, he eats it but when he did red boils appeared all over Thomas' face.
"Eww." The kids said getting his attention.
Looking at himself Thomas gasps before sniffing the wrapper.
"This macaron contains almonds!" He snaps before running to Tom and Sabine. "I specifically told you that I'm allergic to almonds!"
"We were so careful about that. All the macarons are made from coconut." Tom said.
"Uh oh. All but one." Marinette gulps when all the children started laughing at Thomas seeing the cake stain on his pants.
"What? What in the—Who put this cake on this seat!?" Thomas snaps.
Hearing his outburst both Silver Claw and Rena Rouge decided to was best to lead the kids away.
"Uh this way kids. How about some questions?" Silver Claw asks.
"Yeah all the way over here." Rena Rouge said.
"I should have known! How could one of Chloe's plans end in anything but disaster?" Marinette asks.
"I spent three years of my life working day in day out for this! What was meant to be my night is ruined!" Thomas snaps but no one seemed to listen. "No one could care less." Thomas frowns before walking away.
At his base, Hawk Moth saw everything.
Ah. The behind-the-scenes creator who never gets any of the credit. The perfect type of injustice for my akumas." Hawk Moth said turning a butterfly into an akuma. "Fly away, creature of the dark and evilize his broken heart!"
In the theater bathroom, Thomas was sulking when the akum enters his ID badge.
"Animaestro. You're going to show everyone who you really are with a power as limitless as your imagination. All I ask in return are Cat Noir, Ladybug, Silver Claw and Rena Rouge's miraculous." Hawk Moth said telepathically.
"I want them all to see what a director is capable of." Thomas said transforming.
Back in the movie theater, Rena Rogue and Silver Claw finally got a chance to sit down.
"Ugh my arms. I hope I never sign another autograph again." Rena Rouge groans.
"I am so sick of pictures. Ladybug was right, heroes should not go to these things." Silver Claw sighs. "I'm really sorry I dragged you to this."
"It's fine, neither of us knew this would happen. Still we're having a better day than the director guy." Rena Rouge said.
"Tell me about it. I feel bad for the guy. Too bad we can't do much to help him." Silver Claw said.
Nearby, Adrien pulled the gum off Kagami's shoe as she sat near her mother.
"Now I understand why Kagami speaks so much about you. Your father has raised you to be a refined young man." Mrs. Tsurugi said causing Adrien to blush as he helps Kagami put her shoe back on.
"The plan is a total disaster! Adrien and Kagami are even closer now than they were before." Marinette groans.
"You ruined everything, Dupain-Cheng. What was it with that macaron, anyway?" Chloe asks.
"Uh. It was a special passion fruit macaron." Marinette admits.
"But that's the favorite of... No. Don't tell me that." Chloe turns to Marinette and laughs. "You've got a crush on Adrien! hat is ridiculous. Utterly ridiculous. You're a nobody in his eyes and you'll always be a nobody. Watch, I'll prove it." Chloe said walking to him. "Oh Adrikins!"
"Hey you can't be here!" The doorman said before being thrown back crashing into Silver Claw and Rena Rouge's table.
Gasping both look to see Thomas walk in but he had a red mask on and his body looked like it was drawn on.
"So you really think a director does nothing? Let me show you exactly what I'm capable of." Animaestro declares.
"Come on! Get a grip! Hey, Adrikins. You'll never guess—" Chloe turns to Adrien only to see he was gone while others started to scream and run.
"Oh, come on! Don't leave! The show's just getting started!" Animaestro said transforming into a large green cartoon dinosaur after a puff of pink smoke.
Roaring Animaestro spits lasers out destroying multiple buildings.
"Looks like we just got our way out of this." Silver Claw said as he and Rena Rouge ran out.
Out back Marinette was watching them.
"I promise I'll never take Chloé's advice again! Tikki, Spots on!" Marinette said as her earrings glowed and she transformed into Ladybug.
As Animaestro was wrecking the city, Ladybug, Cat Noir, Silver Claw and Rena Rogue land on the rooftops.
"We'd have come to your movie premiere if we'd have known how upset you were gonna get." Cat Noir said.
"Trust me, you guys made the right call not going." Rena Rogue said.
"It was exhausting." Silver Claw said.
"Cat Noir, Rena Rouge, Silver Claw and Ladybug." Animaestro acknowledges.
"What's with that trailer too? I am not scared of cats, at all." Ladybug points out.
"You haven't even seen the movie and you're already slamming it?" Animaestro growls.
"Uh bad move Ladybug." Rena Rouge cringed.
"He does have a point though." Cat Noir said as Animaestro fires lasers at them forcing them to dodge.
"I wasn't slamming it. It's called constructive criticism!" Ladybug throws her yoyo tying him up causing the civilians watching to cheer.
"Nice catch." Silver Claw said.
"So it's always about you, isn't it? From now on, everybody will be looking at me!" Animaestro said transforming into a giant cartoon robot. "Let's see how much you enjoy the true power of animation."
Animaestro fires a beam from the crescent moon on his head forcing Cat Noir to grab Ladybug as they leaped off.
Transforming again, Animaestro became a cartoon dog.
"I am the only true hero." He said.
"Hey I'm the only canine hero pal." Silver Claw said drawing his sword.
"Stay behind me, milady." Cat Noir said spinning his staff.
Cat Noir charges in to attack but Animaestro throws a cartoon hole causing him to fall through.
"Cat Noir!" Rushing in, Rena Rouge grabs his arm while Ladybug and Silver Claw pull them out.
Landing onto the rooftops, the four heroes pant.
"How do you beat a 2D character?" Cat Noir asks.
"You two mind filling us in on what happened?" Ladybug asks looking to Silver Claw and Rena Rouge.
"Basically, everyone made fun of the director not appreciating his hard work and not even paying attention to him." Silver Claw said.
"Not to mention he got totally humiliated." Rena Rouge adds.
"Okay so that's pretty bad." Cat Noir said.
"The only thing that doesn't change when he transforms is his mask." Ladybug notices.
"The akuma must be in it." Cat Noir said when Animaestro turns into a blonde female superhero in red, yellow and blue.
"Fear the power of cartoons!" Animaestro declares.
"How about you fear the power of the Lucky Charm?!" Throwing her yoyo into the air Ladybug creates a camera. "A camera?"
"Of course! Who better to make a movie about us than us?" Cat Noir asks as Ladybug attaches it to her head.
Roaring Animaestro fires a laser at them sending the four heroes crashing into the subway below.
"This is not our day." Silver Claw groans as they got up.
"Take their Miraculous! They're at your mercy!" Hawk Moth orders.
Turning into a cartoon ninja, Animaestro does a series of hand signs creating a cloud of smoke.
"I can't see anything." Silver Claw coughs.
"Protect your Miraculous. He could be anywhere!" Ladybug said as they covered their Miraculous and closed their eyes but when Animaestro leaped at them he ended up freezing up.
Slowly Silver Claw opens them only to see Animaestro moving again.
"Moon Call!" Taking a deep breath, Silver Claw releases a sonic howl blasting Animaestro from close range sending him flying back.
Opening their eyes the other three heroes draw their weapons.
Throwing their staff, flute and yoyo at him, Animaestro quickly turns into a cartoon bird and flies out.
As the smoke cleared all of them looked up.
"That was way too close." Silver Claw said.
"Why didn't he attack us while we were blinded?" Cat Noir asks.
"We didn't exactly make it hard." Rena Rouge said.
"Something must have happened that we didn't see which explains why the Lucky Charm was a camera." Ladybug said taking the camera off her head and they saw the recorded footage of Animaestro freezing up when they close their eyes.
"Did you just pause the image?" Cat Noir asks.
"He just froze." Silver Claw said.
"That was when we all closed our eyes, why is that?" Rena Rouge asks when Ladybug gasps.
"Just like a movie. If nobody watches it's as if it didn't exist!" Ladybug realized.
"Then now we know how to beat him." Cat Noir grins.
"Rena Rouge we might need a few images ourselves." Ladybug said as Rena Rouge grabs her flute.
"You got it." She nods as they leave the subway.
Up above, Animaestro was a giant unicorn that was firing rainbows at everything destroying them.
"Woah. This is the craziest show I've ever seen." A civilian said taking out his phone.
"It won't be easy getting people to stop watching him now." Cat Noir said.
"Everyone stop looking at him! Close your eyes!" Silver Claw calls out.
While everyone did what he said Animaestro was still moving.
Looking around Ladybug spotted Nadja and her crew.
"Of course, TV! Rena Rouge can you distract him?" Ladybug asks.
"I'm on it. Mirage!" Playing a melody Rena Rouge creates a team of paparazzi.
"Sir Sir!" Animaestro looks to see the press taking multiple photos. "What do you have to say about your movie being a total failure at the box office?"
"Will retire because of this humiliation?"
"What do you even do?"
"Shut up! Shut up!" Animaestro roars as they kept him distracted but ends up turning into a cartoon Kung Fu guy that looked like he was Dragon Ball Z.
Firing a laser he destroys the illusion just as Ladybug rushes to Nadja.
"You." Ladybug said landing in front of the camera. "Yes, you who are watching from the other side of the screen. Close your eyes, do not look at Animaestro. Turn off your screen. Come on, we need each and every one of you. It's the only way to stop him." Ladybug orders as everyone listened.
"Ha! You can tell everyone to close their eyes and switch off their TVs, but there will always be at least one person watching me." Animaestro declares.
At his base, Hawk Moth was watching on his tablet.
Looking to the camera, Ladybug knew what she had to do. "I'm sorry Nadja, but this time there will be no live coverage." Throwing her yoyo, Ladybug smashes the camera taking out the live coverage so no one could see it on TV or online.
"What?! No!" Hawk Moth gasps throwing his table to the ground. "Animaestro. Hurry up and bring me their Miraculous." Hawk Moth orders.
Transforming back into Gabriel, he runs out of his house to see everyone had their eyes closed.
Back at the battle, Animaestro turns into an anime girl.
Firing a powerful explosion, she attacks Ladybug forcing her to leap back.
"Cataclysm!" Cat Noir said as dark energy filled his hand.
"Everybody must watch ANIMATION!" Animaestro leaps in only for Rena Rouge and Silver Claw to knock him away.
"Funny, 'cause I think we're the last ones." Cat Noir said.
"And once we stop, you're done." Rena Rouge said.
"NO!" Animaestro turns back into his original form and charges in.
"Shut your eyes tight." Silver Claw said.
"No peeking." Ladybug said.
"You know I trust you blindly." Cat Noir said.
Gabriel rushes through the streets but just as Animaestro attacks all four heroes close their eyes causing him to freeze up just as he was inches from them.
Smirking Cat Noir touches Animaestro's mask releasing the akuma.
"No more evildoing for you, little akuma! Time to de-evilize!" Spinning her yoyo, Ladybug captures the akuma turning it back into a buttefly. "Bye-Bye little buttefly. Miraculous Ladybug!" Throwing the camera into the air she undoes all the damage and turns Thomas back to normal.
"Huh? What am I doing here?" Thomas said before noticing them. "Ladybug, Cat Noir, Silver Claw and Rena Rouge?" He gasps.
"In the flesh." Ladybug said handing him back his ID badge when all their Miraculous beeped.
"You're about to transform back milady." Cat Noir said.
"Bug out!" Ladybug said as they all left.
Nearby Garbiel was watching this.
"Ladybug, Silver Claw, Cat Noir and even you Rena Rouge. Enjoy your apparent victory, because as in all the best tragedies, triumph always comes before failure." Gabriel said before leaving.
Back at the theater, Marinette was passing out macaroons to people as they entered when she spots Chloe.
"Chloe! Please don't tell Adrien I have a crush on him!" Marinette begs.
Smirking Chloe took a macaroon. "In this world, there are those who work and those who shine. Forever there will be this division between us, Dupain-Cheng. Which is why you and I will never be a team. I'm not going to tell him. You're not worth the extra attention." Chloe said walking in.
Nearby, Thomas sees this and walks up to Marinette.
"You know what. Take my seat and enjoy the movie." He said giving her his badge. "I've seen it ten times or more. What matters the most for the movie is to be seen by people who really want to see it right?" Thomas asks.
"B-But I…" Marinette stutters as he takes the macaroons.
"Sorry, I guess you don't know who I am either." Thomas said.
"Of course I do. You're Thomas Astruc the movie director! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" Marinette said giving him a hug before walking in.
"She recognized me. Somebody actually recognized me." Thomas smiles as he was about to walk out when Alya and Sam approach him.
"Excuse me Mr. Astruc, my name's Alya and I run the Ladyblog. I was wondering if we could do an interview with you about the movie." Alya asks.
"You two want to interview me?" Thomas asks surprised.
"If you don't mind? We'd love to ask you a few questions for it." Sam said.
"I-I'd love to. This is the best day of my life." Thomas smiles wiping tears out of his eyes as they led him to the lobby. "Hey did you two see Rena Rouge and Silver Claw? They never came back."
"Oh you know heroes sir. Always putting the needs of others first." Sam smiles.
"Yeah, don't look into it. They're probably just off helping someone in need." Alya smiles.
Sitting down at a table, Sam pointed Alya's phone at them as Alya prepared for the interview.
Making her way to her seat, Marinette looks to see she was sitting next to Adrien.
"Awesome you could get in, Marinette. And I'm really sorry I didn't get to taste your macaron. It looked delicious." Adrien said.
"It's no biggie. There will be tons of other macarons, I mean, occasions." Marinette said as the movie was about to start.
