Hey! It's me again. Did ya miss me!
Lol! So anyways hopefully you guys will forgive me for my period of silence after reading this classic tale of Love, and Blah Blah Blah. Whatever you call it. So without further ado, I give you...
Echoes of My Heart. ENJOY!!!!
It was a typical day at the Tortuga, the Wild Kratts' mobile headquarters. Martin and Chris were deep into planning their latest creature adventure, preparing for their next expedition into the Amazon rainforest. Something about them wanting to check out the adorable Squirrel Monkey?
The Tortuga buzzed with activity as Aviva fine-tuned the creature power suits and Koki monitored the satellite feeds for creature sightings. As for Jimmy Z, he was taking one of his famous, much deserved, (Or so he says.) naps.
Martin, with his bright blue eyes and golden blond hair, was the picture of confidence and perfect charm. His cheerful nature and infectious enthusiasm brought a sense of joy to everyone around him. Despite his good looks, he carried a sadness that surfaced every Valentine's Day, a lingering heartache from his teenage years. Of course he made sure to hide it well, you could never tell just by looking at him. Even his own brother and best friends knew nothing of the heartache hidden deep within his heart. His thoughts often drifted back to Daisy, the girl he had met at summer camp when he was seventeen. They had shared a summer of laughter, adventure, and a connection he had never felt since. Daisy had beautiful bright green eyes, brunette hair with a striking purple violet streak, and a skin tone and height similar to Aviva's.
Chris, on the other hand, was a whirlwind of energy and enthusiasm. His dark brown hair and eyes gave him a boyish charm that was hard to resist. But beneath his confident exterior, he harbored a secret crush on Aviva. He admired her intelligence, her dedication, and her kind heart. Every day, he battled with the urge to tell her how he felt, fearing it might disrupt their friendship and the team's harmony.
As Valentine's Day approached, the atmosphere around the Tortuga grew more tense. Martin, usually the life of the party, became more subdued, lost in memories of Daisy.
One evening, as he sat alone by the indoor fire, in the Tortuga, the memories overwhelmed him. He could see Daisy's bright green eyes, hear her laughter, and feel the warmth of that summer they had shared.
Chris, noticing his brother's unusual quietness, decided it was time to act on his feelings for Aviva. Summoning his courage, he found her working in the lab.
"Hey, Aviva, can I talk to you for a second?"
Aviva looked up, a bit surprised but smiling. "Sure, Chris. What's up?"
Chris took a deep breath, his heart pounding. "Aviva, I've liked you for a long time. You're amazing, and I can't keep pretending that I don't feel this way. Would you go out with me?"
Aviva's eyes widened in surprise. She had always hoped it would be Martin asking her out, but here was Chris, his eyes filled with sincerity. Her heart felt torn, but she didn't want to hurt Chris. "Chris, I... yes, I'd love to go out with you."
Chris's face lit up with joy. "Great! I'll make sure it's a perfect date."
Later that night, Chris found Martin sitting by the fire, his usual cheerfulness masking his inner turmoil. "Hey, Martin, can I ask you for a favor?"
Martin looked up, his thoughts interrupted. He had just been reliving the moment he first met Daisy, her bright green eyes locking with his as they laughed over a shared joke. "Sure, Chris. What do you need?"
Chris hesitated, feeling a bit awkward. "I asked Aviva out, and she said yes. I want to make our date perfect, and I could really use your help planning it."
Martin's heart ached at the thought of having to possibly now constantly witness a blossoming new romance, but he pushed those feelings aside. He wanted his brother to be happy. "Of course, Chris. Let's make it a date Aviva will never forget."
"You sure you don't mind helping me plan this...Or my plan to ask her to be my girl?"
Honestly, Martin couldn't care less, but he can't just tell that to Chris.
"Of course not! In fact, I'm elated! Just make sure to invite me to the wedding." Martin said with a sly smile.
Chris rolled his eyes. "Of course you would say. that."
Martin merely grinned.
Chris then realized that he had another favor to ask Martin.
"Oh yeah, before I forget, I was hoping you could play 'Greensleeves' on the guitar for Aviva. It's her favorite song, and everyone loves your angelic voice."
Martin's heart clenched. 'Greensleeves' was not only Aviva's favorite song but also Daisy's. He remembered singing it to Daisy for the first time. But he hid his sadness behind a smile. "Sure, Chris. I'll do it."
As they planned the date, Martin's mind wandered back to that summer night with Daisy. He could see her bright green eyes, hear her laughter, and feel the warmth of her hand in his. They had sat by the campfire, and he had played 'Greensleeves' on his guitar, singing softly to her:
"Alas, my love, you do me wrong,
To cast me off discourteously.
For I have loved you well and long,
Delighting in your company."*
Daisy had looked at him with such adoration, her green eyes sparkling in the firelight. It was a memory he cherished but also one that brought him immense sorrow.
The next day, Martin threw himself into helping Chris decorate the Tortuga for the date. He hung lights, set up a cozy picnic area, and made sure everything was perfect. Chris was grateful for his brother's help, not noticing the lingering sadness in Martin's eyes.
When the evening of the date arrived, the Tortuga looked magical. Aviva was touched by the effort Chris and Martin had put into it. As she and Chris sat in the decorated Tortuga, Martin picked up his guitar and began to play 'Greensleeves,' his beautiful voice filling the space:
"Greensleeves was all my joy,
Greensleeves was my delight,
Greensleeves was my heart of gold,
And who but my lady Greensleeves."*
As Martin sang, he couldn't help but think of Daisy. He felt as if he could never love anyone else as he had loved her. Despite suspecting that Koki had feelings for him, he had never pursued anything, certain that his heart belonged to Daisy alone.
Aviva, listening to Martin's beautiful voice, couldn't help but feel a pang of longing. She appreciated Chris's efforts and sincerity, but a part of her wished it were Martin singing to her with that deep, heartfelt connection.
Meanwhile, Martin stood at a distance, watching them with a mixture of happiness and longing. He knew he had to let go of the past, but Daisy's memory would always be a part of him. As the music filled the Tortuga, he made a silent promise to himself to embrace the present and cherish the moments he had with those he loved, just as Daisy would have wanted.
1 Corinthians 13:8-10- "Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears."
