Once Happy and Sly left , Paige looked at her watch then at Walter . " Well I must admit that was something of a surprise and I thought you handled it very well . So you deserve a small gift . " At that she pulled his face towards her and planted a kiss on his lips , Walter responded this time , his hands began to wander around her body .

He began to rub up and down her back , going lower with each stroke , eventually his hands laid on her butt which he gently squeezed which caused Paige to make a little squeal as his hands then moved up towards the waistband of her jeans and he slowly began to work his hands along the inside until he felt the waistband of her panties . At this point Paige's hands left his face and reached behind her and gently took hold of his wrists and pulled them out of her jeans , then slowly pulled away from him .

" I don't want to spoil the moment , but due to the visitors , we will need to leave soon to pick up Ralph . But would you like to come back to my condo tonight after we have checked out the storage units , then been out on our date at Kovelsky's . Then once Ralph goes to bed , we could maybe have an early night and carry on with what we just started . I will just have to remember to be quiet . " She told him , that cute little smile , that always melts his heart . on her face .

" Well I guess I should pack an overnight bag . " Walter told her .

The smile on Paige's face got bigger . " There is no need to do that , all the stuff you bought over to the condo , is still all there , including your toothbrush and shaving gear . Although the after shave is almost empty .

Toby and Happy's apartment .

Toby was lying on the sofa reading the latest edition of a medical magazine when Happy and Sly walked though the door . Without looking up Toby said . " So you are back . Satisfied ? "

Happy was just about to answer when she saw the red light on the phone , blinking .

" Toby how come you have left the phone go to the answer machine , while you were here ? "

Toby pulled the magazine down from his face . " Oh , it was someone who wants us to put a bid in for a job . That Is not part of what I do so I left it . "

Happy clenched her fists , her face red with anger . " What the hell Toby , if that is not part of your job , then what the hell is ? "

Toby in a very calm voice replied . " I am in charge of all medical and psychological problems , bids were down to Paige . "

Happy almost flew across the room at him , pulled the magazine out of his hands , threw it on the floor , put her face a few inches away from his face and a finger at him at the same time , he tried to pull away from her but the way he was lying he could not move .

" Paige no longer works with us so now until we can find a replacement , we are all going to be involved with all parts of the business . So if the phone rings you will answer it and take any details that are necessary . You are not going to sit on your butt , until there is a medical issue . DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME ? "

Toby took a gulp of air , a look of fear in his eyes . " Ok, back off , of course I know Paige does not work for us anymore . I took that call didn't I . "

" Then why not answer that call ? " Happy asked , her temper receding slowly . " Because I probably would have pissed them off , before we had a chance to even quote . I thought you could ring them back . " By now Toby had managed to get into a more comfortable position .

" No you just wanted someone else to do the work , so you can just carry on doing what you have been doing since we split from Walter , basically what all of us have been doing until it was time to do the actual work . We just passed everything onto Paige's desk . I am not surprised we broke her , you are the medical expert but you never even noticed how down and depressed she had become. When we all walked out on him , we pulled her safety blanket right from under her . Yes I do mean Walter , What did we three do because even while she was with Tim , Walter always made sure she was looked after during work hours and also made sure he helped out with the paperwork . What did we three do , nothing . So should we be surprised , definitely not . " Said a very agitated Sly . "

This was the side that had come out of Sly the night they had all walked out on Walter .

Both Happy and Toby were taken by surprised but Toby was soon back to his snarky self . " Were did that come from ? "

" Because after todays visit to see Walter , I know we will never work with Walter again . It was then I realized I had lost a brother and a real friend , the person who is the reason I am still here today . "

Sly had calmed down a little and tears were beginning to run down his cheeks . Happy walked over to him and gave him a hug . " He saved me , by bringing me into a family and stopped me from being a loner and once he bought Paige into the team , I know we were all against her at first , just because she was a normal , it was down to her that Scorpion grew so well . Also because of her , I finally agreed to marry Fungus .

I must admit once we left , we expected Paige to do everything as she appeared to do at Scorpion , but Sly is correct , Walter led her in his own way . I often saw him doing a lot of paperwork and put in the pile she had completed . Even though when she was with Tim and it was difficult for him , he always made sure things were good for her and Ralph . I am not even sure C.P. will last without her . "

Toby had just sat on the sofa listening to both of them . " I certainly owe Walter my life , if not for him I would not be here , I would be six feet under . He found me in an alley in Las Vegas , down on my knees and a casino boss and one of his heavy's who had a gun at my head . For some reason Walter just appeared like a Guardian Angel , he actually stared the casino boss down , he asked what was going on . When I told him I owed $50,000 in gambling debts , as if by magic he suddenly pulled a bundle of notes out of what seemed like thin air and handed it the casino boss .

He told him it was $30,000 and if he would meet him again the following evening he would give him the other $20,000 . To prove he meant it he told them to take me with them , if he had not got the money , they could then shoot us both . The next night , true to his word he was waiting for us in the alley , were he handed over $25.000 telling them it was for interest for the inconvenience . I am sure the casino boss actually smiled as he and his companion turned and walked away .

Walter turned and began walking away in in the opposite direction , so I followed . When I asked why he paid extra , he smiled and told me that he had won it at his casino , so he had paid him with his own money . . It was then he asked me if I would like to join Scorpion and that was when I first saw Happy . My problem as always been I am jealous of Walter , which is why I always try to play with his mind . If I had told Paige why he went to Tahoe was to tell her he loved her , even after he tried to tell her when they came back and of Tim's threat , or even let her try and get Walter remember what he had said while in space , but again I wanted to play with Walter's mind . Or if I had not given him such conflicting information about telling Paige about taking Florence to that lecture . I am certain we would still be one team despite what Florence was trying to do . So I feel responsible , which is why I am so snarky at him I just cannot face him because I know I am responsible for the break up of Scorpion . " A now sombre Toby said .

Happy walked back to Toby this time with a smile on her face . " I think all of us are responsible for the break up . Well we all know Walter would never do anything to hurt Paige . Even now he as come up with a proposal , Paige can go with us on bids and present them , but at a cost . If successful she gets 5% of the bid value , if we don't win a $100 fee . He as also suggested we should put up our prices by at least 33% so we can start making a decent profit so we can earn money for ourselves . He as agreed not to apply the no competition clause , at least not at the moment . Paige's involvement is only temporary until we can find someone to replace Paige . Their new company at the moment is going to be computer repairs and building web sites and improving existing sites . Once Ralph joins , they may start bids for coding jobs . .

Sly and myself are happy with the idea , but he wants you to agree to it as well . He does not expect you to go and apologize . "

Toby removed his hat and put it back on his head , he did this three times , before removing it one last time and began to spin it in his hands . He looked between Happy and Sly .

Toby took a deep breath . " Well I guess , that we will need to find a replacement in double quick time ,we can't afford to keep paying out 5% to big brain and his company . " He finally answered in a snarky voice .

Back at the garage .

Walter and Paige had gone back into a hug , looking into each other's eyes and stealing an occasional kiss . Paige's phone alarm went off , she pulled back from the hug .

" That means it is time to go pick up Ralph . " She said with a smile on her face .

" That is something I have missed over the past few weeks , it is amazing how such a small thing can be so important . " A happy Walter said .

Paige leaned in again and gently kissed him on the lips . " Well now lets go and put a smile on Ralph's face , when we tell him we are going to look for a storage unit . "

Thirty minutes later Paige was parked up outside the college waiting for Ralph to come out . Walter was fidgety in the passenger seat .

Paige gently put a hand on his leg . " What is worrying you Walter ?" She asked , her voice quiet and gentle .

" I am anxious to see Ralph again , I have missed him so much over the past weeks . Not quite as much as you but close . "

The smile on Paige's face got bigger . " Well we are both back now and I can promise you nothing is ever going to split us up again . "

They saw Ralph come out of the entrance , once he saw the car he broke out into a run . He was soon at the car , opened the back door and climbed in . " It is good to see you dad , I missed being with you today . I missed you as well mom . " He said with a big smile on his face .

" Good save buddy . " Walter told him , a big smile on his face .

Paige turned in her seat and spoke to Ralph . " We have found a couple of storage companies , do you want to come with us ? " She asked him with a smile on her face .

" You bet , lets go . " Ralph said a lot of urgency in his voice .

Both Paige and Walter smiled at one another . The first place they visited , Walter was not happy with , as all the storage units were ex shipping containers and all were outside , security seemed very poor , as Walter put it , to few cameras and the ones they had got were poorly placed .

The second company , all the storage units were inside , with air conditioning and electric points in all of the units . They were shown around the facility by the manager . All three decided to go for one of the larger units on the ground floor , it was more expensive than the first site they had visited . Walter paid for three months rent before they left .

Paige wanted to go to her condo so she could freshen up and get a change of clothes , before going on their " First Date " since they had made up .

Walter smiled . " You look gorgeous right now , but I learnt enough from you to know better than to argue with a lady , when she wants to freshen up . "

Paige smiled at him , leaned over to him and placed a kiss on his lips . " The correct reply . "

Paige pulled away from the parking lot and twenty minutes later was pulling up outside her condo .

Walter sat on the sofa , Ralph went to his bedroom to change out of his school clothes and as he pointed out , he would start his homework and probably finish by the time his mom reappeared out the bedroom . Which put a smile on Walter's face .

As he sat on the sofa , his mind went over the last forty eight hours , it had started off so badly , when he was confronted at his swan song bid , which if he had never seen the letter Florence had left , he would have been in Ireland . But if she had not left it , he would not have met up with the members of C.P. and shown them the letter . Before he walked out on them letting the door slam behind him . As it was things began to change once he heard Ralph call his name , from then everything just got better , here he was sitting in the love of his life's home , waiting patiently for her to appear , ready to go on their " First date " since that dreadful night when they all walked out on him .

After twenty five minutes he heard the clatter of heels coming from her bedroom . He stood up so he could watch her enter the living area . As she appeared into view , he immediately noticed her hair which all day had been in a pony tail , had been brushed out and was curled at the sides , so it bounced on her shoulders , framing the most beautiful face in the world . A face wearing light makeup , her pale pink lips shining from the use of lip gloss . She had changed into a red sweater with a small v neck and short sleeves . Her pants were a loose pair of black jeans . She was wearing black slip on shoes with two inch heels . The whole outfit was set off with a small gold chain suspended from it a small gold cross hung around her neck . On her left hand all she wore was the engagement ring he had given her the previous day , on her right two dress rings , one with a blue stone , the other a red stone , neither which he had seen before , on her right wrist she wore a small gold bracelet .

He could not say anything as she appeared a big smile on her face .

" You do not think I am a little over dressed for a first date at Kovelsky's , do you ? " Paige asked .

Walter just stared at her , unable to speak at the vision before him .

" Walter are you alright ? " Paige asked . She walked with a sexy sway towards him .

" Y ,ye,yes , just taking in the beauty before me it is over whelming . "

Paige reached him and cupped his face and put a light kiss on his lips , which almost caused Walter's legs to collapse under him .

Paige pulled away from him a big smile on her face .

Walter managed to pull himself together . " You would look better than anyone in any establishment even if you were dressed in a black bin bag . I will be the proudest man in the world to walk into Kovelsky's or Maison Kabai . "

" Well thank you Walter , maybe one day we can visit Maison Kabai . But tonight I will be happy to walk on your arm into Kovelsky's . Let me call Ralph so we can get on our way . "

She was back a minute later , closely followed by Ralph .

" Ready buddy ? " Walter asked .

" You bet . " Ralph replied .

Twenty minutes later Paige pulled up in front of Kovelsky's .

As they walked through the door , Walter felt everyone turned their head just to see such a beautiful woman on his arm . He felt pumped up with pride , actually no one looked up from their food , not that this worried Walter , because that was exactly how he was feeling . A server came up to them and led them to a table and left them with three menu boards , then returned a couple of minutes later with three glasses of water . She told them she would return in about five minutes to take their orders .

The three of them studied the menus , although Ralph knew before he arrived what he wanted , a special burger with a side of Frech fries and a chocolate milkshake . Walter knew he was not going to order any sort of fish dish as he was expecting a little adult entertainment late on that night , so he decided on a chicken salad sandwich with a side of French fries . Paige went for a chicken salad , both Walter and Paige ordered coffee . What she really wanted was a glass of red wine , but Kovelsky's was not licenced to sell alcohol . The server took their orders .

Just as they had finished their meals , Mrs Kovelsky saw them and walked over . She immediately saw the ring on Paige's left hand . " Ooh , does that mean Walter as actually proposed to you . "

Paige a big smile on her face . " Yes yesterday . "

Mrs Kovelsky looked at Walter . " You had better treat this beautiful young lady well . Congratulations to you both . " She left a big smile on her face .

Ralph looked at his mom and dad and smiled seeing the love an happiness on their faces . " Mom could I have an ice cream please ? "

" Of course sweetie , in fact I think I will join you , how about you Walter ? "

" I will maybe share some of yours . " He said the smile never leaving his face .

" That sounds so romantic when you say that . " Paige said just before placing a kiss on his cheek .

The server came over and took their order for two double scoop ice creams . She returned five minutes later , put one in front of Paige and one in front of Ralph .

Ralph immediately started to eat his ice cream . Paige put her spoon into the ice cream in front of her and slowly put the spoon , with a portion of ice cream on , up to her opening mouth slowly she put the ice cream into her mouth and slowly closed her mouth around the spoon , then began to remove the spoon as she looked at Walter . Who by now could not take his eyes off the wet lips of Paige . She completely removed the spoon , put it back into the ice cream , she again slowly moved it to her lips and opened her mouth , slipped it slowly again into her mouth , but this time as she removed the spoon about half the ice cream portion was still on the spoon , she put on a cute smile on her face and put the spoon towards Walter's mouth as she put the spoon on his lips , he opened his mouth , Paige gently slipped the spoon into his mouth , he immediately closed his mouth around the spoon , Paige then began to slowly pull the spoon back slowly . Walter's mouth opened and a clean spoon came out .

" I think I like your ice cream . " Walter told her with lust in his eyes and a smirk on his face .

Ralph was to busy eating his ice cream to notice what was going on between his parents .

Paige leaned in towards Walter and whispered sexily in his ear . " May be you can taste something a little warmer tonight , if you are really good . "

Walter's face began to go red and he started to splutter as the ice cream slid down his throat .

By the time Paige had finished playing with Walter's emotions , Ralph had finished his ice cream , so Paige decided to finish her ice cream on her own .

Five minutes later Walter called for the bill , paid it . Then they all left to go back to Paige's condo , Paige with a big smile on her face in anticipation of what was going to be happening later that night . Walter was still getting over what had happened with the ice cream , but he could not wait for Ralph to go to bed , so he could have some me time with Paige .

Grykon Future chapters will see more of Paige and Toby clashes . I decided that I wanted to include more of C. P. in this story , as most stories they do not appear very often . Toby will be pulled down with a bump in a later chapter LOL.

DaToad glad you are enjoying the story , as regards the comedy bits , I was not sure if my humour would really travel . You are correct about Toby he was a bit of a perve when it came to Happy . Thank you , as regards to 1 / 2 chapter stories I have written a few , and when I plan a story I usually plan on something like a max of 10 chapters but stories always seem to get away from me .

Pearliegirl Pleased you enjoyed the last chapter . I think Scorpion should be together , but as most people who write the stories do that , I just like to be a little different . But then you never know
