The Cyclone is broken Chapter 11
After dropping Ralph off at school , they were to early for Paige to go to the bid , so they decided to go for a coffee at one of the many coffee shops in L. A . They spent thirty minutes, Paige going over the bid with Walter explaining how she was intending to give the presentation .
Walter suggested a couple of little tweaks , which each time he supplied one she would lean over and give him a kiss on the cheek.
The bid was due to presented at 12.00 noon , Walter pulled up on the ai 11.30am, , both he and Paige looked around for Happy's pick up but could not see it anywhere .
" I thought they would be here by now , although I did say I would meet them fifteen minutes before the bid . But still I would have thought they would be here earlier . I think I will give Happy a ring to find out were they are . " Paige said with a little anger in her voice .
Walter put his hand on Paige's . " I don't think you need bother . That's Happy's truck just pulling up now . " He told her as he pointed towards the entrance of the car park .
" Good , I will go and meet them to check that nothing as changed . " She leaned over to give Walter a quick kiss on the lips , before she got out of the car .
As she approached them , Toby in a snarky voice asked . " Why are you in Big Brain's car today ? "
Paige just gave him a steely look , then ignored him and turned to Happy . " Have you made any changes to the bid ? "
Happy smiled at her . " Yes we have taken your advice and increased the bid by 10% and added three days to our completion date . " As she spoke she handed her a copy of the revised bid .
Paige quickly checked through it and saw the new price and completion date . " Lets go in so I can read through it properly before I present the bid . "
Toby went to say something , but before he had chance to speak, he was chasing his fedora across the car park , which flew off his head after Happy slapped him across the back of the head .
That should keep him quick quite for a time . " Happy told Paige .
Paige , Happy and Sly made their way to the building and entered through a large set of double doors .
Walter watched until they were inside , then turned his attention to Toby , still chasing his fedora , each time he got close to it a gust of wind seemed to appear and sent it further away from him . It was a couple of minutes before the fedora got stuck on the wheel of a car , which gave him a chance to catch up with oy . He picked it up , brushed all the dust off it using his hand . Straightened the brim and pushed a crease out of the top of the hat , then finally placed it back on his head . , before making his way to he building to join the others .
Walter had enjoyed the show as he sat behind the wheel of his car , a big smile on his face .
Toby entered the reception area and saw the three others in the corner . Paige appeared to still be reading the proposal , Happy and Sly talking to each other .
Toby , his face red with anger and from the exertion of chasing his fedora , moved in close to Happy , in a low bur angry voice asked . " Why did you do that ? "
Happy stayed seated and in an equally quiet voice told him . " To stop you being a pest to Paige . , she does not need your snarky comments just before a bid . Now sit down and keep quiet or you will not like what you will get when we return home .
Toby gulped then immediately sat down , two chairs away from the others .
They all came out of the building at 12.30pm ., three with smiles on their face , Toby looking glum , carrying his fedora in his hand . Once outside Paige turned to the three of them and said goodbye and made her way back to Walter as the others made their way back to Happy's truck .
As soon as Paige got into Walter's car she leaned over to him and planted a kiss on his lips .
" Did it go well ? " Walter asked .
Paige smiled at him . " I did my best , but as there are companies still to present their bids , they will not give any indication , but they at least were smiling once I had finished speaking . One good thing Toby stayed in the waiting area , under strict instructions from Happy not to move . He was not pleased , but he was still angry about his hat . C.P. should know by tomorrow if they have the job or not . I hope they do , as their total bid was for $60,000 . "
Water kissed her . " Well shall we go for lunch , it should then be time to go and collect Ralph from school and then go and see the next office . Lets hope we have better look than yesterday .
Paige moved over to him and gave him a kiss on the lips before asking . " Do you think we have time to drive to the beach for hotdogs again ? "
" For my queen anything . " Walter replied a big smile on his face .
They were at the beach car park about thirty minutes later . The hot dog seller had a few chairs and tables in front of his cabin . So today Walter and Paige decided to sit at one of the tables . Once they had finished their hot dogs , Walter went back and purchased two cups of coffee They both tried the coffee and pulled faces as the quality was quite poor.
" While they were drinking their coffee , Walter asked . " Did I see you ignore Toby when you first saw him ? "
" Yes until he learns to be civil and looses the snarky voice he his fond of using , I will continue to ignore him . "
" Well I enjoyed watching him trying to catch his hat , it was almost like one of those very old silent movies . I wish I had recorded it on my phone to show Ralph . "
Paige's face broke out into a big smile . " I wish I had turned around and saw that . "
Both finished their coffee , but decided not to sample another cup , instead they took a steady walk back to Walter's car , just after they had got into the car Paige's phone pinged as an alarm that it was time to pick up Ralph .
They arrived at Ralph's school just as the pupils were coming out . Walter was keenly looking out for Ralph , when Paige let out a little scream .
" What's the matter my love ? "
" I never phoned the insurance people about my car . "
" Once we have seen the office today , you can phone them , if not tomorrow will not be to late . "
Paige smiled at him a twinkle in her eye . " I hope to have a good shower tomorrow , so I am not sure if there will be time . "
Walter's smile got bigger as he leaned in and kissed her on the cheek . " Maybe we could work round that . "
As he finished speaking he heard a knock on the car window . He turned to see Ralph a big smile on his face , Ralph opened the rear door and climbed in the back of the car .
" Hello mom , hello dad . " He called out from the back seat .
" Ready to go view another office ? " Walter asked
Both Paige and Ralph agreed , Walter input the address into the G.P.S. and started the car . This one was situated in what appeared to be in a much better place , it was again a retail style offices , it was set back from the road giving a large car parking space in front of the shops .
Walter managed to pull up outside the vacant unit , it was obviously a different realtor today . Today waiting outside the unit was a young lady , dressed in a blue knee length skirt with a matching blue blazer , a brilliant white blouse underneath it and a pair of black flat heeled shoes .She introduced herself as Mary and then in a very professional way , she opened the door of the unit and showed them in .
The front office , although empty , did not look that big . Walter began calculating , in his head , exactly were the desks and filing cabinets would fit , he realized that although he would not mind being close to Paige as they worked , there would not be sufficient room for one , let alone three whiteboards .
They moved through to the back room , passing a small alcove which had been turned into a kitchen area , just about bigger enough for one person to stand in . Next to it was a door which Mary opened to show a toilet and a very small wash basin , with a small electric water heater hung above it . It seemed to be in clean condition . Paige walked into and checked it out , came back out and gave Walter an almost unnoticeable nod to say it was clean .
She shut the door as she came out and Mary led them into the rear area , this room was smaller than the front one . Both Walter and Ralph looked disappointed and shook their heads .
Mary looked surprised . " Is something wrong ? "
Paige was quick to jump in . " They both need a lot of space to work on projects . At the moment they work out of a building the size of an aircraft hanger , although we are not looking for the same thing that size , they need one at least three times the size of this one . "
Mary looked disappointed . " Most of these sidewalk units tend to be this size , you could find a double unit , that would only give you twice the space . "
Paige smiled at her . " Well we have appointments booked to see two more units , but if they are similar to this one , we are going to amend our ideas . "
Mary was a little disappointed , but did not want to lose their business . " I do have a couple of small industrial units for rent , not the size of were you have been working , but the floor area is at least three times of this unit , plus one as a mezzanine floor covering half the floor area . Would you maybe interested in one of them ? "
The three of them nodded . " We will still need to see the other two offices , tomorrow and Friday . But we would like to check both of the industrial units , as long as they are not to far out of town . " Paige told Mary .
Mary a big smile on her face answered . " Both are on the same small industrial site , that is really close to the shopping center's in L.A. . They are also in a gated area with 24hour security . Also the landlord does not mind tenants putting up dividing partitions ,as long they can be removed when you leave without causing damage . There is a $1000 deposit in case of any damage , but the rental is competitive to these sidewalk offices . "
" Could you arrange a viewing of both on Saturday morning . " Walter asked who for the first since he had entered the office spoke .
Mary's face broke out into a big smile . " Let me check my diary . " She reached in a small briefcase and pulled out a blue diary and checked it . " How about 11.00 Saturday morning ? "
This time Walter looked at Paige and Ralph , who both nodded .
" That would be perfect . " Walter told her .
At that they said their goodbyes , once Mary had give them the address of the industrial estate , telling Walter she would leave their names at the gate house .
All the way home Ralph was so excited about the industrial unit , he could not stop talking about it and what they could do in a space like that . He was already assuming they would want the one with the mezzanine floor , which he was already claiming as his own .
Paige was quick to pick up on this and told him . " Do not get carried away young man , we have still to decide exactly what we are going to do . "
Just before they reached the condo , Paige's phone rang , she pulled it out of her purse and saw the I.D. " Happy . "
" it's Happy ! " Paige told Walter .
" You had better answer it . " Walter told her .
Paige connected the call . " Hello Happy - good I will send you my invoice -Good doing business with you . "
Once she disconnected the call she turned to Walter a big smile on her face . " Well they won the contract , that is a $3000 invoice they will be receiving from Scorpion Computing Services . "
" Have you sorted out a bank account for S.C.S. ? " Walter asked .
" By the time I receive the first part of the invoice everything will be ready . " Paige replied .
Next morning the same as Monday , neither Walter or Paige showered , just a quick wash and cleaned their teeth . Before beginning breakfast Paige packed a bag with four fresh bath towels and her hair dryer . She then went to make scrambled eggs and toast .
After dropping Ralph off at school , they once again began to act like a pair of teenagers , Paige kept touching Walter's leg and would occasionally lean over and put a kiss on his cheek . Walter had to try his hardest to concentrate on his driving especially when Paige began to blow gently in his ear . .
Fortunately the drive was only twenty minutes , but the crotch of his pants were really tight , he almost jumped out of the car , opened the garage door and switched the alarm off . Paige was behind him , her purse and bag slung over her shoulder . As soon as both were in the garage , Walter dropped the bolt on the door , then both almost ran up the stairs to the loft .
Walter ran into the bathroom , to switch the shower on so the water would be hot . Paige took her bag into the kitchen and took out the bath towels out of the bag , leaving the bag with her hair dryer in the kitchen . They met just as Walter came out of the bathroom , Paige dropped the towels at the side of her , put her arms around his neck and on tip toes planted a kiss on his lips .
Walter's arms went around Paige and he began to move them up and down her back , he stopped when he reached the bottom edge of her tee shirt and slowly began to roll it up her back , Paige released her hold on him and stepped back and slowly lifted her arms up . Walter gently pulled the tee shirt up of her head and then threw it on the floor .
Paige went in for a quick kiss , before pulling Walter's shirt out of his pants and gently began to unfasten the buttons , seven in total , plus the two on the sleeves , she then pushed it off his shoulder and watched it with a glint in her eye slid down his firm slightly damaged body .
Walter let it fall to the floor and then kicked it towards the sofa . He then gently felt Paige's left breast through the pink silky material of her bra . Then gently he applied a little more pressure , causing Paige to make a whimper . He then transferred his attention to her right breast causing another whimper to escape Paige's lips .
Walter then moved both his hands behind Paige's back and quickly unclipped her bra , as it was strapless , he just let it slip down between them . Paige's nipples were already engorged as Walter reached and tweaked her left nipple and then her right nipple , both times Paige gave a small squeal , she leaned in and gave him a kiss on his lips .
Walter reached down to the waistband of her skirt and released the fastener and pulled a small zip down and with a gentle pull let it fall down to her ankles .
Paige still with her lips attached to Walter's lips as she reached for the waist band of his pants , she pulled the zip down , but the pants stayed in position, it was then she realized the clip in the waistband needed to be unclipped , once unclipped , she gave them a gentle pull and they slid down to his ankles . He managed to remove his slip on shoes then step out of his trousers . Paige also managed to slip out of her shoes and skirt .
Walter broke the kiss and picked Paige up and carried her into the bathroom . He gently placed her on the floor , both removed the one piece of clothing they were still wearing and stepped into the shower .
It was over a hour before they finally left the bathroom , Paige had been more vocal than ever during the shower , much to the amusement of Walter .
They towel dried their hair and bodies then fell onto the bed , just taking pleasure in the contact of their two naked bodies . Paige was curled up tight to Walter her head on his chest and one arm across his abdomen . Neither were speaking just lying their in total contentment .
After about twenty minutes , Walter heard a low purring coming from Paige an indication that Paige was in a contented sleep . Walter was more than content just to lie there and watch and listen to Paige , after about ten minutes sleep overcame him .
He woke up with a start and realized he was alone in the bed , he suddenly felt panicked as to were Paige had gone . As he began to get out of bed he saw an apparition of beauty coming through the door .
" Good to see you awake , my prince . " Paige told him in a sultry voice .
A big smile broke out on Walter's face . " I wondered were you were . "
" Bathroom break , I am afraid . " Paige said as she dived onto the bed and pulled Walter towards her and kissed him which Walter returned , the kissing turned into a slow round of gentle sex .
Once they had both been satisfied , they decided to shower again ,this time Paige went first and Walter went to make coffee , he just put his boxers on before going into the kitchen . By the time Paige came out of the shower wearing a bath towel around her body and another one around her hair . Walter poured her a cup of coffee , gave it to Paige and planted a kiss on her lips . He then went for a shower .
Once Walter came out of the bathroom , Paige was busy drying her styling her hair , wearing just her bra and panties .
Walter walked up behind her , but then remembered the warning she had given him on Monday .
Without turning around she said . " Good job buster , now go and get dressed , momma is getting hungry for some tacos . "
Walter turned away a small smile on his face and began to collect his clothes from were they had been dropped a few hours earlier .
Once they were both ready and a couple of kisses more . Walter suggested a taco van that parks close to the spot on the beach were they launched the rocket with Megan's ashes .
" That sounds perfect , while we are there I will phone the insurance company about my car . I just forgot yesterday .
Walter pulled up close to the taco van . There were a couple of tables with chairs put out in front of the van . Paige sat on one of the chairs while Walter when to buy tacos , a Spicy Mexican beef for Paige and the house speciality for Walter a Mixed Seafood special . Once they had eaten , Walter went to fetch two cups of coffee , while Paige phoned the insurance company ' Both tried the coffee and pulled faces at the quality ,not much better than the one they had yesterday .
Once Paige finished her phone call she turned to Walter . " The insurance company will send someone to check the car , I have given them the phone number of the garage so they can make an appointment to view the car . They did not seem very sure it would be repairable . "
"Well at least you and Ralph are safe and well . " Walter told her .
" I think a lot of that was due to you acting so quickly . " Paige told him as she placed a kiss on his cheek .
They were both content to sit and watch the ocean and after another cup of coffee , they waited until Paige's phone bleeped to say it was time to collect Ralph from school .
The office they visited was similar to one Mary had shown them the previous day . Just a different street around the corner from Wednesday .

DaToad Thankfully no , they are very rare in the U.K. knives seem to be the weapons of choice . Our gun laws are very strict although some shootings do occur . Cabe is certainly not happy about the shooting , but more than happy with regard to Walter and Paige being back together .
