Tower buddies: chapter 3
Chapter 3: freebird
"It'll take 6 months."
Those words rung in annes head.
"…6 months?"
Marcy sighed. "Yes, approximately. It could take shorter or longer, but that's approximately how long it'll take to get… 'freebird' up and running in secret… in a basement."
"Am i supposed to know what freebird is?"
Marcy chuckled. "You'll see in 6 months."

Two months later…
A pink frog and a green newt met up behind stumpy's diner.
"So, 'tritonio', you have what i ordered?"
Tritionio smiled. "Of course, little one. No need to pay up. Just glad to see the youth persue their dreams of robbery."
"Oh, no, i'm just saving a friend."
"Heh. That's what they all say, before they turn to a life of crime. Anyway, let's make this quick. Here are the schematics, as you asked."
He handed sprig some strange blueprints.
"Where'd you find these?" Sprig asked.
"Some toad was selling trash from toad tower, among it was a blueprint for the tower. On the back, there is a message."
Sprig turned it over.
'To whoever is reading this,
Please take this schematic for the south tower. I hope it comes in use. Just do anything as long as it annoys the toads.
-marcy wu.'
"Huh. I recognise the name," said sprig.
Later, sprig was hanging out in the house, humming and harring over the plans.
"Hmmmmm… i see! I suck at making any sort of plan!"
Polly walked in. "Hey, whatcha
doing-" she spotted the schematics. "Oh, for frog's sake, sprig, can you stop making these stupid plans to save this anne?"
"No!" Said sprig. "She saved us!"
Hop pop walked in. "Well, i for one respect sprig for taking responsibility and helping this girl!"
"Thank you, hop-pop-"
"But i also think it's pretty hilarious that you think you can infiltrate toad tower."
Sprig's face soured. "Gee, thanks, hop-pop."
"No problem."

Month 4 of the freebird project…
Sasha went down to see marcy.
"Hey marcy? Coming in."
She heard a scramble and a rustling. "Just a sec!"
She opened the door to her chambers, where she was once again met by marcy looking stressed. That had been happening a lot recently. Weird.
"Hey sash!" She said.
"…hey marce. I brought you some food?" She gestured to a bowl.
"Thanks!" Marcy took the bowl. "So, how's life as a lieutenant going?" She asked.
Sasha felt reallt guilty about it. "Uhmmm… good? I hope you're not overworking yourself. You sure look like it," she joked.
"No, i took your advice and tried to relax more. But i've also been working on some personal projects!" She pointed to a strange glowing potion. "This baby is my most recent attempt at generating power for my phone!" She said proudly. "Of course, it doesn't work yet, but still."
She then gestured to something else. "Instant fire potion! Creates a fire for thirty minutes!"
She ran over to another side of the room. "I call this marcy wubre! (Trademark)(name in progress). This fibre made by marcy wu is extremely strong, and fire resistant!"
"And this!" Marcy showed sasha. "I call this the vacuum grenade!" She showed some sort of bag to sasha. "This is a curse i developed myself! It completely removes all matter around it in a 2 foot radius, except biological! Perfect for excavation!"
Sasha looked at her work. "Wow, marcy. You've been busy. Well, seeing as they're personal projects, i won't report these to the tower. She winked.
Just before leaving, she looked back at marcy. "And marcy? Things will get better. I promise."
And she left.
Once marcy was sure she had left, she smiled and said, "they sure will." And she pressed a panel on the wall.
"Good for excavation… and making secret tunnels!"
A door opened to reveal a room with a drape covering something. Lots of fire potions were on the side, and more vacuum grenades had been used to make a high roof, with minimal usage left to get to the surface.
"Heheh," marcy said, "freebird is almost complete."
————————————
Sprig had done it.
He had recruited maddie and ivy to help him make a plan to free anne. Ivy wanted to meet this girl, and maddie was just interested in the prospect of an alien creature. They were currently in the basement revising their ideas.
"So, the plan-"
Hop pop burst in. "Is horrible."
Sprig was confused. "What?"
Hop pop began. "Your plan is decent, but childish."
"Childish?" Sprig gasped.
"…sprig you were planning on using a giant slingshot to launch yourself into the tower."
"You got any better ideas?"
Hop pop smiled. "Yes," and he struck a heroic pose.
"Im coming with ya!"
Sprig almost laughed. "You? Hop pop, you're… hop-pop. You don't get into action, you farm and teach us valuable moral lessons."
Hop-pop chuckled. "Oh, you sweet, innocent child. So, here's the plan..."
