Transformers 2: Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla
Chapter 9: The Battle of Rio de Janeiro
Earth Wars Trilogy
It was still nighttime outside, and already, the majority of the human populace of Rio de Janeiro has been annihilated by Zo-Zla-Halawa, the evil Space Godzilla, along with many of the buildings and city blocks beings eviscerated in favor of more structures of the crystallized blood of Unicron to expand his ever-increasing empire. It was clear that, immediately after awakening, Zo-Zla-Halawa had claimed Rio de Janeiro as his own, evident by him using his dark atomic breath again to destroy more buildings and cause more Dark Energon to emerge from the ground.
"Skreeeeeeeeaaaaark!", Zo-Zla-Halawa roared as a show of victory and dominance.
However, before the Space Godzilla could continue the expansion of his will, just behind him, he heard the sound of a portal of some kind open in the sky, and when he glanced behind him, he saw what appeared to be a portal with a white opening and outlined in green and purple, this being one of the Autobots' Ground Bridges. And then, before the mad Titan could even react, out of the portal drove Optimus Prime in his truck mode, and as soon as he emerged, he transformed into his robot mode and began firing on Zo-Zla-Halawa!
"Skreeeeaark!", Zo-Zla-Halawa roared in annoyance as his head was fired upon.
With Zo-Zla-Halawa annoyed and distracted, Optimus Prime used this as an opportunity to latch himself onto the Titan by grabbing onto the top of the crystal on his right shoulder. After getting a good grip on the crystal, Optimus Prime did not let up on Zo-Zla-Halawa, as he used his blaster to barrage his head with Energon blasts, even shooting him in his eye at one point.
Even with Optimus Prime's persistence, however, his attacks did no damage to Zo-Zla-Halawa, and Zo-Zla-Halawa was about to retort with an attack of his own, in which his crystallized dorsal plates and the ones on his shoulders glowed a bright pink as he turned his head to face Optimus with a pink hue emanating from his mouth. Then, in the very next moment, Zo-Zla-Halawa fired his dark atomic breath directly at Optimus, but before the attack could make contact with him, Skyquake swooped in in his jet mode to save Optimus, where the Autobot leader hitched a ride on the flying Decepticon.
"Thank you, Skyquake", Optimus Prime gave credit to his ally.
"As you said, in this scenario, both Autobots and Decepticons share a common foe", Skyquake said as he flew further away from the Space Godzilla. "Dreadwing, the time has come!", he contacted his brother via com link.
Just as Zo-Zla-Halawa finished firing his stream of dark atomic breath, Dreadwing came swooping in, around him, with Wheeljack hitching a ride. As soon as Dreadwing was close enough to it, Wheeljack jumped off the Decepticon and grabbed onto the same crystal Optimus was on, previously, followed by Dreadwing transforming into his robot mode and doing the same with the left crystal. As soon as Wheeljack and Dreadwing had good grips on the crystals, both of them began working diligently in placing and arming as many grenades as they could on them. Given that those two large crystals functioned as sources of Zo-Zla-Halawa's power, Optimus Prime's plan was to find a way to destroy or even damage them so as to make the task saved for Godzilla and Anguirus easier.
As the Autobot and Decepticon worked towards arming their grenades, Optimus Prime jumped off of Skyquake and landed on top of a tall building that was still standing in the city.
"Autobots! Hit him with everything you've got!", Optimus Prime ordered as he fired both of his Energon blasters at Zo-Zla-Halawa.
Still noticing the taint of Primus emanating from Optimus Prime, Zo-Zla-Halawa focused his attention on him, but before he could take any action, he ended up being fired upon by Ironhide and Chromia from the ground towards his right, causing him to focus his attention on them now.
"Hey! Over here, ya big, ugly lizard!", Ironhide yelled at Zo-Zla-Halawa to get his attention.
Before Zo-Zla-Halawa could fire his dark atomic breath or simply stomp on them, he was fired upon by even more blaster fire from another area on the ground by Bulkhead and Prowl, who were running towards the left of the Titan.
"No! How about over here?!", Bulkhead shouted at him.
Zo-Zla-Halawa then focused his attention on them, but then, right in front of him, he was shot at by Arcee and Bumblebee, in which all three pairs of Autobots were now working together to distract Zo-Zla-Halawa and throw him off long enough for Wheeljack and Dreadwing to do what they needed to do.
Even with all of the Autobots firing at him, along with Skyquake swooping around and firing on him in his jet mode, all it did was make Zo-Zla-Halawa even angrier as he still focused his attention on Optimus Prime, where he promptly charged up and fired his dark atomic breath directly at him, resulting in his fate now being left ambiguous with the building he was on being reduced to rubble where more Dark Energon emerged from the ground.
In that moment, as the rest of the Autobots looked over with shock and disbelief, they all immediately felt a sense of relief wash over them, as they all noticed that Skyquake had swooped in to save Optimus Prime a second time, again hitching a ride on the Decepticon in his jet mode.
Getting more irritated, Zo-Zla-Halawa lowered his attention down to the six Autobots on the ground, where he began stomping his feet, hoping to crush them underfoot. Thankfully, the Autobots were able to avoid him quick enough, but not without a significant challenge, as his feet were extremely large and hard to avoid because of it, along with each step he took causing the Autobots to shake within their tracks.
"Wheeljack! What's your status?!", Dreadwing shouted over to Wheeljack, still hanging onto the crystal on Zo-Zla-Halawa's shoulder.
"Argh, I've still got a good many grenades left to go here!", Wheeljack replied, clearly annoyed that he was not making more significant progress. "You doing any better?"
"I am in the same scenario as you are, unfortunately, but we need to act quickly, for I do not know how much time my brother or the rest of the Autobots have!", Dreadwing replied, making an effort to work as a team with the Autobots in their situation.
Meanwhile, as the Autobots, with the help of Skyquake and Dreadwing continued their holding off of Zo-Zla-Halawa, in Sonora, Mexico, Anguirus continued chipping away at the Dark Energon prison that Godzilla resided in, where he did even more significant damage to it by curling himself into a ball and hurtling towards it in the air.
After hitting the Dark Energon imprisonment again, Anguirus, becoming somewhat light-headed after constantly ramming into it, stood back on his four feet and looked over at Godzilla still inside of it. Just then, however, as he looked at his imprisoned friend, he noticed that Godzilla's dorsal plates began glowing a brighter blue as he heard what could only be the sound of Godzilla charging up his atomic breath. Mere seconds later, thanks to Anguirus doing significant damage to the prison, Godzilla shot out a bright, blue stream of his atomic breath, busting a hole through the prison and going straight into the sky! But Godzilla was not done, for he continued firing that same stream of atomic breath all around the prison, turning all of the Dark Energon enshrouding him into nothing but ash!
Once Godzilla had finished firing his atomic breath and the dust had settled, Anguirus saw as the one and only King of the Monsters stood on his own two feet once again, still having that look of determination and confidence on his face. This time, however, Godzilla's dorsal plates no longer had the bright blue hue they had before, meaning that the effects of the Dark Energon imprisonment had caused him to lose all the power he had gained from his recent raids of Earth's power plants. Despite this, it did not change the fact that Godzilla still had a score to settle with Zo-Zla-Halawa, and he would not rest until the pathetic excuse of a Godzilla paid for humiliating him the way he did.
"Gaaaaaaaaaoooo!", Anguirus roared in triumph as Godzilla was freed.
With this, Godzilla gave a calm look to Anguirus, who once again, let out a smile to his friend, no doubt knowing that he was the reason he was freed from his imprisonment.
"Skreeeeeeeeeooooooonk!", Godzilla roared as loud as he could, both in triumph over being freed and in revenge-fueled anger over Zo-Zla-Halawa.
Still having the power of the Primes within him, and therefore, still being able to sense where Zo-Zla-Halawa was, Godzilla immediately rushed towards the coastline of Sonora with Anguirus rushing behind him, and not wanting to waste any time, the two Titans jumped into the ocean, where they would quickly make their way to Rio de Janeiro to settle the score against the Great Eternal Enemy.
Back in Rio de Janeiro, with the Autobots working with the two Decepticons to hold off Zo-Zla-Halawa, Wheeljack and Dreadwing were finally able to finish arming all of their grenades on the Space Godzilla's two large crystals.
"Wheeljack! Are you finished?!", Dreadwing shouted at his temporary ally.
"All good here, Decepticon! Think maybe I could hitch a ride?", Wheeljack shouted back.
After giving a nod and pressing the button on his remote-control detonator that would set off his grenades, Dreadwing transformed into his jet mode and flew straight towards Wheeljack. Before Wheeljack jumped onto Dreadwing, however, he used his own detonator to set off his grenades as well, followed by him jumping onto Dreadwing and the two Cybertronians flying away from the incoming explosion.
Unfortunately, Dreadwing's escape was unsuccessful, as Zo-Zla-Halawa took notice to them attempting to escape from his wrath. Similar to how he dispatched the Brazilian military, Zo-Zla-Halawa swung his large tail towards Dreadwing.
"Incoming!", Wheeljack shouted to alert Dreadwing.
Even though it was Wheeljack's warning that had saved Dreadwing's life from not getting swatted into oblivion by the tail, he was still not able to avoid it in time, as part of Zo-Zla-Halawa's thagomizer ended up clipping Dreadwing's wing, causing him to plummet to the ground, where he transformed into his robot mode as he landed, and with the heavy impact both of them felt as they hit the ground, Wheeljack and Dreadwing were taken out of the fight.
However, this did not stop all the grenades Wheeljack and Dreadwing had placed on Zo-Zla-Halawa's crystals from going off, causing both of his power sources to be enshrouded in explosions and smoke. With the grenades causing a heavy hit to the crystals on his shoulders, Zo-Zla-Halawa had ceased moving for a bit, leaving the rest of the Autobots hopeful that the grenades had worked in doing some form of damage to him.
"Ha-ha, yes!", Bulkhead cheered, assuming that the grenades worked in damaging the two crystals.
But then, as the dust from the explosions cleared, in a disheartening scene to the Autobots doing all that they could, the grenades did not do a single ounce of damage to Zo-Zla-Halawa's crystals, not even a single scratch.
"Skreeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaark!", Zo-Zla-Halawa roared in a state of unbridled anger, for he now knew that the Cybertronians he was facing had targeted his power sources, and he was not going to let inferior beings such as these believe they could ever do any kind of damage like that to a godly being like him.
"Oh, you've gotta be fucking kidding me!", Ironhide complained before he and Chromia began firing upon Zo-Zla-Halawa.
Noticing this, Zo-Zla-Halawa fired his beam of dark atomic breath at both of them. Thankfully, Ironhide and Chromia were able to flee from it in time, but in doing so, they came into contact with the Space Godzilla's massive tail, where the Titan immediately slammed it down as hard as he could, causing a tremor around him so large, that large pieces of Dark Energon emanating from the ground flew up and damaged both Autobots enough to the point where they fell to the ground and were taken out of the fight.
Hoping to stop Zo-Zla-Halawa from finishing off Ironhide and Chromia, Bumblebee, Arcee, Prowl, and Bulkhead all shot at him with their combined firepower, but even still, it did no damage to him, only irritating him even more. He then attempted to fire on them with his dark atomic breath, but before he could, he was fired upon by Skyquake still swooping around him with Optimus Prime still hitching a ride. Still sensing the taint of Primus within Optimus, Zo-Zla-Halawa focused his attention on him again. Now, with there being no way to divert Zo-Zla-Halawa's attention from him, Skyquake transformed back into his robot mode, where he and Optimus landed on top of another large building that was still standing.
"Skyquake, if this is indeed the end, it has been an honor to serve alongside you", Optimus Prime said to the Decepticon as he aimed both of his blasters at Zo-Zla-Halawa.
"I never thought I would say this, but I can say the same for you, Optimus Prime", Skyquake agreed as he aimed his machine gun at the Titan.
With this, Optimus Prime and Skyquake unloaded their weapons on Zo-Zla-Halawa, hitting him with everything they had. Still, it did no damage to him, and after taking only a few steps to get close enough, Zo-Zla-Halawa swatted at the building the two Cybertronians were standing on, and with that one, quick motion, the building came tumbling down, taking Optimus Prime and Skyquake with them, all while Zo-Zla-Halawa smiled, maliciously.
"No!", Arcee reacted before she, Bumblebee, Prowl, and Bulkhead all resumed firing on Zo-Zla-Halawa, to which he ignored them, as the blasts were completely ineffective.
With the dust from the destroyed building settling, Optimus Prime and Skyquake were both now laying helplessly, at the mercy of Zo-Zla-Halawa. Even with both of them being able to get back on their feet, there was nothing they could do, as the Space Godzilla was looming over them. Even with Skyquake being able to fly, there was no way he would be able to escape from his wrath this time. It truly seemed that this was going to be the end of Optimus Prime, but if he was going to go out, then he was going to go out fighting and proud.
"Skreeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaark!", Zo-Zla-Halawa roared at them.
"Raaaaaaaaaaaargh!", Optimus Prime screamed back at the same time, as an indication that he was proud to have fought with all that he had against the Space Godzilla.
With that, Zo-Zla-Halawa began charging up his dark atomic breath once again, but before he could fire, both he and all the Cybertronians present heard the sound of another loud roar approaching their direction.
"Gaaaaaaaaaaaoooo!", the other creature roared in defiance.
With this having his attention, Zo-Zla-Halawa ceased his charging of his attack and looked over where the roar was coming from. Before he knew it, however, there was no way for him to react in time with Anguirus hurtling through the air at him in his form of a curled-up ball form, where he was hit in his chest with the impact of Anguirus' spikey body, followed by Anguirus landing on all fours, on the ground, ready to aid in facing Zo-Zla-Halawa!
"Gaaaaaaaaaaooo!", Anguirus roared again.
All Zo-Zla-Halawa did, however, was just smile with pride and cockiness due to his knowledge of several things, one being that he already defeated and imprisoned Godzilla, and since Anguirus was weaker than him, he should have no problem dealing with this Titan. However, much to his shock and surprise, Zo-Zla-Halawa heard another roar that he knew could only belong to one other Titan…
"Skreeeeeeeeeeeooooonk!", Godzilla roared at his hated opponent.
Before Zo-Zla-Halawa could even turn around all the way, he was instantly hit with a direct attack from Godzilla's blue stream of atomic breath, sending him violently hurtling back into his own Dark Energon structures that he had created.
Everyone, both the Cybertronians and Anguirus, all turned their heads to where the atomic blast originated from, revealing none other than the King of the Monsters himself, Godzilla, who was ready to show Zo-Zla-Halawa who the real king was around here. In a similar fashion to a gorilla beating his chest to show dominance, Godzilla did his version of this by firmly planting both his feet on the ground, along with him slamming his tail on the ground as well.
With his enemy having returned, Zo-Zla-Halawa got back on his feet, angry that Godzilla was somehow, still functioning and not stripped of all his power.
"Skreeeeeeeeeaaaark!", Zo-Zla-Halawa roared with anger.
Noticing Optimus Prime, Godzilla took a few lunging steps closer to the center of the action and let out a resounding "Skreeeeeeeeeeooonk!" straight at Optimus, serving as a message for him to retreat for his own safety and allow the big dogs to finish the fight.
Hearing this message loud and clear, Optimus Prime gave a nod before contacting all his Autobots.
"Autobots! Fall back!", Optimus Prime ordered over the com link.
Upon giving this order, Optimus Prime emerged from the destroyed building he was in and led Bumblebee, Arcee, Prowl, and Bulkhead out of the battlefield as they all transformed into their vehicle modes, with Skyquake flying overhead. Also having emerged from the rubble were Ironhide and Chromia, who transformed into their vehicle modes and joined the rest of the Autobots in their retreat. Also joining in were Wheeljack and Dreadwing regaining their footing from their injuries, in which Dreadwing transformed into his jet mode with Wheeljack hitching a ride, all be it Dreadwing was flying in a haphazardly fashion due to his wing being damaged.
As the Autobots and Decepticons all made haste in fleeing the battlefield, Godzilla and Zo-Zla-Halawa clashed into each other, with each one trying to gain the upper hand over the other.
"Ratchet! Ground Bridge!", Optimus Prime ordered his medical officer over his com link.
On que, a Ground Bridge materialized in front of the Autobots, in which all of them drove into it as fast as they could before the Bridge closed behind them as Skyquake and Dreadwing fled the battlefield, with Wheeljack still hitching a ride on Dreadwing.
As for the three Titans battling in the city, with Godzilla and Zo-Zla-Halawa each trying to outdo each other in strength, Zo-Zla-Halawa was clearly superior in this right, as he continuously pushed Godzilla back, slamming the King of the Monsters into building after building as he was pushed.
Noticing that Godzilla was losing, Anguirus attempted to help by biting the end of Zo-Zla-Halawa's tail, just at the end of his thagomizer, hoping to tear it off and do some damage to their opponent. This only served as an annoyance to the Space Godzilla however, for after Zo-Zla-Halawa violently pushed Godzilla to the ground, he began repeatedly slamming his tail on the ground with Anguirus still biting into it, resulting in Anguirus being slammed into the ground multiple times. Godzilla attempted to get back up and save his friend, but before he could take any action, Zo-Zla-Halawa caught on to him, and dealt with him by violently flinging Anguirus straight at him, where the impact caused both of them to tumble to the ground!
With both Godzilla and Anguirus downed, Zo-Zla-Halawa again attempted to fire on them with his dark atomic breath, where after his crystals charged up with their bright pink, shot it at them with all his might! Godzilla was quick enough to react, however, as while Zo-Zla-Halawa was charging up his attack, Godzilla was able to get back on his feet and counter with his own atomic breath, resulting in an epic beam battle between the two!
Even though Godzilla tried with everything he had, given just how powerful the Space Godzilla was, along with Godzilla having lost all the radiation he had gained earlier, Zo-Zla-Halawa's atomic breath proved to be superior. With Godzilla not being able to hold his own with his atomic breath, the King of the Monsters was sent hurtling back even further while being pummeled through the ground even more with the beam of the dark atomic breath hitting him.
As soon as the smoke cleared from the attack, Zo-Zla-Halawa attempted to close in on Godzilla, but before he could, Anguirus charged at him, but Zo-Zla-Halawa easily discarded him by grabbing him by his horns and tossing him away as hard as he could, sending him crash landing into some of the Dark Energon structures he had created.
Still closing in on the losing Godzilla, Zo-Zla-Halawa held a malicious grimace on his face, looking forward to making his enemy suffer for dare thinking he could take this world from him. Godzilla, however, was as stubborn as stubborn could be, and he was not going to back down like that, evident by him still getting back up and standing on his own two feet again.
"Skreeeeeeeooooooonk!", Godzilla roared in stubborn frustration as a sign of him not backing down, against the odds.
Hoping to down Godzilla again, Zo-Zla-Halawa turned his body around as he used the power of his tail and thagomizer to attack him. Godzilla, however, was one step ahead, as he was able to lean forward and grab the end of the tail with his jaw while avoiding the thagomizer! With him having more strength when it came to pulling things than Anguirus did, Godzilla pulled on the tail as hard as he could, which caused the Space Godzilla to go off-balance a bit, causing him to reposition his footing to regain his balance. As a counter, Zo-Zla-Halawa tore his own flesh on his back apart so that his large wings could emerge from him again. And then, like a cannon shooting into the air, Zo-Zla-Halawa burst into the sky, in which the sheer impact caused his tail to be loosened enough to where it was freed of Godzilla's jaw, followed by it scathing Godzilla across his face with the thagomizer!
Hoping to shoot the Space Godzilla out of the sky, Godzilla fired his atomic breath at him again, but with Zo-Zla-Halawa's speed in the sky, he was easily able to dodge the attack. To make matters worse, Zo-Zla-Halawa countered by firing his dark atomic breath at Godzilla, and since Godzilla did not have the advantage of flight, he was violently hit by the attack a second time, injuring him even more and dragging him through the ground, yet again!
"Skreeeeooonk…!", Godzilla roared in pain once the blast had ceased.
"Gaaaaaaooooo!", Anguirus roared in distress as he noticed Godzilla was getting savagely beaten.
Before Anguirus could do anything, however, Zo-Zla-Halawa landed right next to him, where he immediately began repeatedly stomping on his head, with his goal being to continue his stomping until Anguirus' head was nothing but a bloody pulp.
Godzilla was not going to allow this to happen, and hoping to save his friend, he got back on his feet and charged into Zo-Zla-Halawa again, saving Anguirus and trying his hardest to overpower his opponent, even though it was clear that the Space Godzilla was simply too powerful for Godzilla and Anguirus to overpower, despite their best efforts.
As the one-sided battle between the Titans took place, Team Prime, along with Skyquake and Dreadwing, all watched in horror on top of the hill that looked over Rio de Janeiro, with all of them standing next to the large statue of Jesus Christ known as "Christ the Redeemer". Even with the combined power of Godzilla and Anguirus, Zo-Zla-Halawa was wiping the floor with them, and Optimus Prime knew that one way or another, they would have to take action quickly if they were going to have any hope of stopping him.
"Alright, I've had enough of this! I get that Godzilla wanted us out of the fight, but if we don't jump in there and help him out, he and his buddy there are gonna be biting the dust here soon!", Ironhide proclaimed.
"Really? And what do you suppose we do, Ironhide?", Prowl asked with an annoyed sarcasm.
"I say, if we're all about to die because of this crystal bastard, then we go out guns blazing!", Ironhide declared as he whooped out his cannons. "I'd rather do that than just sit on my behind while watching Godzilla get his rear end kicked…"
"I am afraid that I sympathize with Ironhide here", Optimus Prime chimed in as he transformed his hand into his Energon blaster. "If this is truly the end, and if there is nothing we can do to stop it, then if we are going to die, then, as I said before, we will die fighting, all as one…"
"Sounds good to me", Chromia smiled as she stood next to Ironhide. "What's the play, Prime?"
"We continue attacking Zo-Zla-Halawa with everything we have. Autobots—!", Optimus nearly gave out an order before he was cut off by Ratchet via his com link.
"Optimus, wait!", Ratchet said to his leader.
Immediately after Ratchet said this, a Ground Bridge opened in front of the group, where Ratchet frantically emerged from it while holding some sort of device in his hands. Looking at the device, everyone else there intuitively knew that it could only be what Ratchet was working on: the device that would serve as a means of decreasing Zo-Zla-Halawa's power.
"You may not need to do that, Optimus…", Ratchet said. "If my theory on my work on this device is correct, then it should serve as a means of weakening Zo-Zla-Halawa and giving Godzilla the edge he needs in order to destroy him for good…"
"Excellent work, old friend!", a relieved Optimus Prime said as he grabbed the device from Ratchet.
"There is…one thing I should mention, though…", Ratchet said with a frown. "Given that I was pressed for time in creating this device, along with my limited knowledge on what it took to create it, this device will only work under very specific circumstances…", the rest of the Autobots and Decepticons there looked at him, eager to find out what needed to be done here. "The only way that Zo-Zla-Halawa will be weakened by this device is through internal combustion, meaning that it must be crushed or destroyed inside of him somehow, if it can truly work its effects…" After Ratchet said this, Optimus Prime, along with the others, were now at a loss as to what to do with the device in order for it to work, while also knowing they were very short on time. "I am sorry, Optimus…it was the best I could do…"
Before Optimus Prime or anyone else could say anything, an unexpected voice spoke up from amongst the crowd.
"I will go", Skyquake said, causing surprise among the other bots standing around him, especially Dreadwing. "There is no other way. I will be the one to sacrifice myself by flying straight into that monster's mouth and once his jaws clamp down on me, it will cause the device to combust, where it will work its effects, allowing Godzilla to destroy this pathetic excuse of a Earth's rightful ruler!", Skyquake said with confidence.
"Skyquake, please, that will not be necessary", Optimus Prime said to the Decepticon. "We will find another way…"
"Optimus, you know as well as I do, that while another way may exist, if we do not act immediately, then Godzilla and Anguirus will be destroyed, and the rest of this Earth with it. One of us needs to act now if we are going to stop this maniac…", Skyquake replied as he looked over at Zo-Zla-Halawa still winning against Godzilla and Anguirus. "Besides, there is one other reason why this is my choice. I was responsible for aiding in Megatron's ideals of allowing this creature to run rampant, and if this action is what it will take to atone for my sin, and destroy Zo-Zla-Halawa, then I will be the one to make the sacrifice…"
Dreadwing then approached Skyquake with a look of sadness and worry on his face. "Brother, you know that I completely agree with you in that we are guilty of following Megatron's ideal, but in that case, I am just as guilty of that as you are. I…should be the one to go…"
"No, Dreadwing", Skyquake said before placing his hand on his twin's shoulder. "There are very few individuals that I have truly cared for in my lifetime, but I would always lay down my life for you, as I am sure you would, mine. While if you choose to go, I will survive, I would never be able to live with myself, knowing that my own brother would not be able to continue living for me". Even after saying that, Dreadwing still looked down with sadness. "That is the only wish, I have, brother. If I am going to die, then I want you to live for me, in my honor, Dreadwing…"
"Very well…brother…", Dreadwing said in a sad tone of voice. Just like with Arcee after watching Cliffjumper perish, even though Cybertronians were incapable of crying, if they could, even the mentally powerful and stoic Dreadwing would be crying right now.
"Skyquake…while you and I may have had our differences, know this: your sacrifice will not be forgotten…", Optimus Prime said as he handed the device Ratchet created to Skyquake.
"Thank you, and for what it is worth, it was an honor to fight alongside you, Optimus Prime", Skyquake said as he took the device before focusing his attention back on his brother.
With this being the final time they would see each other, Skyquake and Dreadwing shared a hug, with each of the brothers knowing that they would be parting ways for good.
"Goodbye…Skyquake…", Dreadwing said as he hugged Skyquake.
"Goodbye, Dreadwing…", Skyquake replied. "Remember, brother…live…"
"I will…for you…brother…", Dreadwing said in an even sadder tone before he and Skyquake parted from their hug.
Before Skyquake took off to fly into the mouth of the Space Godzilla, one other Autobot spoke to him.
"Hey…", Arcee got his attention. "Thank you…for saving my life earlier…"
After giving a nod as a way of saying "you're welcome", Skyquake, with the device in his possession, transformed into his jet mode and flew back onto the battlefield.
In the battleground that was now the ruined Rio de Janeiro, Zo-Zla-Halawa continued to toss Anguirus around and constantly pummel Godzilla multiple times, followed by him blasting the King of the Monsters with his dark atomic breath again, causing him to hurtle back even more. Before the Space Godzilla could continue attacking, however, Skyquake flew in and began firing at him as a distraction. With Zo-Zla-Halawa focusing on him now and with his mouth open, Skyquake quickly flew closer and closer towards it.
"Farewell…brother…", Skyquake then said his final words before kamikazeing himself straight into the Space Godzilla's opened mouth, where both him and the device exploded in that one instant.
When the device exploded, a large, circular wave of energy exploded from out of Zo-Zla-Halawa's mouth, and once it had dissipated, the bases of Zo-Zla-Halawa's crystals were now glowing a bright red.
"Skreeeeeeeaaark…!", Zo-Zla-Halawa gave out a weaker roar as his power was now decreasing, thanks to the device working its effects.
At the same time, with Dreadwing and the Autobots, given that they were spark twins, Dreadwing felt the pain of this brother's demise within his own spark, which even though it did not kill him, it caused immense pain for the Decepticon.
"Aaaaaaaargh!", Dreadwing groaned in agony, clasping on his chest before collapsing to his knees and falling unconscious due to all the pain his spark endured in that moment.
"Dreadwing!", Optimus Prime reacted as he and the rest of the Autobots rushed to his aid.
After rushing to Dreadwing, Optimus looked back onto the battlefield, where Zo-Zla-Halawa was so weakened, to where he was tumbling back into a building behind him.
As for Godzilla, standing back up, he noticed that Zo-Zla-Halawa had just lost a great deal of power, and because of that, he knew that if he were to ever have a chance at finally vanquishing his ancient foe, then this was it, right here. With this, Godzilla's dorsal plates began glowing a bright blue with the blue hue also present within his mouth as he began charging up his atomic breath, and in the next moment, he fired a stream of the attack directly at the Space Godzilla, sending Zo-Zla-Halawa flying even further back into the dirt!
Even once the blast had ceased and Zo-Zla-Halawa caught his breath after being hit and taking some severe damage, Godzilla was not done, as he fired his atomic breath at him a second time! This time, however, this blast hit Zo-Zla-Halawa directly at his crystal on his right shoulder, and when it did, the majority of it was turned into nothing but ash, causing the Space Godzilla to lose even more of his power!
"Skreeeeeaaaark!", Zo-Zla-Halawa roared in pain and anger as he felt more of his power leave him with the crystal destroyed.
With Zo-Zla-Halawa distracted with the loss of his crystal, Anguirus attacked him from behind by biting the end of his tail again, holding on even tighter to it now than he was before. Noticing this, Zo-Zla-Halawa turned around to attempt to get him off, but Anguirus was not going anywhere, as no matter how much the tail was swung, he was still holding onto it as tight as he could. Using this as another opportunity, Godzilla shot another blast of his atomic breath at him again, aiming at and destroying the crystal on his left shoulder, as well! And just to add even more injury to him, thanks to his pain and distraction with losing both of the crystals, Anguirus was able to grip and pull tight enough to where he tore off the end of Zo-Zla-Halawa's tail, causing it to bleed out onto the ground!
At this point, despite dominating the battle to being with, Zo-Zla-Halawa knew that he had lost, and all he could do now was retreat from his attackers. Hoping to make a fast retreat, his wings emerged from his body again, followed by him taking off into the sky and flying away from Godzilla and Anguirus, but neither of them were going to allow him to escape, not after everything he had just put them through.
"Skreeeeeeeooooonk!", Godzilla roared at Anguirus, seeming as if he was shouting an order to him.
"Gaaaaaaaaoooo!", Anguirus roared back in agreement with Godzilla's command.
In a tag team effort, Anguirus launched himself into the air while curling into his ball form and flying towards Godzilla, and Godzilla, doing his part, whacked Anguirus away with a whip of his tail! This time, Godzilla had a target, as Anguirus was thrown directly at Zo-Zla-Halawa causing the Space Godzilla to plunge back to the ground, taking Anguirus with him!
"Skreeeeeeeaaaark!", the Space Godzilla roared as he quickly descended back down.
With both Titans now on the ground, and now just wanting to have the satisfaction of killing at least one of his opponents, Zo-Zla-Halawa went on the offensive against Anguirus, fighting dirty by pinning him down while forcing his jaw open, intending to tear his head apart.
Godzilla, however, was not going to stand for this, as he charged into Zo-Zla-Halawa again, saving Anguirus and doing even more damage by clawing out one of the Space Godzilla's soulless eyes and more notably, clamping his jaw into his right arm and pulling hard, causing the arm to come clean off of him! And then…before Zo-Zla-Halawa could even do anything, Godzilla forced open his jaw and finally finished him off by doing one of his deadliest moves: the Kiss of Death, where he blasted his atomic breath straight into Zo-Zla-Halawa's mouth and through his throat! Given the intense heat mixed with the sheer power of the Primes of Godzilla's atomic breath, Zo-Zla-Halawa's head became detached from his body, meaning that, at long last, the Great Eternal Enemy was no more.
"Skreeeeeooonk!", Godzilla let out a small roar as he held Zo-Zla-Halawa's head in his hand as his headless corpse fell to the ground.
Godzilla was not done yet, however, as he placed the head of the Space Godzilla on the ground before crushing it underfoot into nothing but bloody pulp! On top of this, just to show how much he hated Zo-Zla-Halawa, Godzilla grabbed the tail of his headless enemy and used it to throw his corpse into the sky as hard as he could. Then, in one final move, Godzilla charged up and fired his atomic breath straight at the corpse, causing it to turn into nothing but dust and ash above him!
Before Godzilla could let out his roar of victory, he noticed as Anguirus got back up and approached him. Once Anguirus was close to his friend, the quadrupedal Titan made a bowing motion towards Godzilla, acknowledging him as the one, only, and true King of the Monsters.
In response, Godzilla let out a small grunt as he bobbed his head at Anguirus, which was his uncomplicated way of saying "thank you" and to rise from his bowing position as a show of respect for his help during the intense battle. And with that, both Godzilla and Anguirus roared into the sky in victory as their alliance, along with the help of the Transformers, was able to defeat and destroy Zo-Zla-Halawa once and for all!
"SREEEEEEEEEEEEOOOOOOOOONK!"
"GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAOOOOOOOOO!"
