Date: 4-20-2008
Place:Clothes Over Bros-A conference room
Action: Millicent and Victoria wait for Brooke to show up for a very important meeting.
Victoria: Brooke is still not here. She broke her promise. She can't be trusted anymore.
Millicent (worried, she checks her watch): It is well pass time for the meeting
Victoria: Brooke is always late for everything. What is the next step?
Millicent (running out of the room): I am going to Brooke's house
Place: Brooke's house-the bedroom
Situation: Millicent discovers Brooke strung out on drugs
Brooke (intoxicated, she stumbles toward Millicent): Welcome home, Millie
Millicent (resists Brooke's touch): I trusted you and you let me down
Brooke (hysterical, she throws a lamp at Millicent): I have been violated. Where were you when I needed you the most?
Millicent (yelling): You have chosen drugs over me. You shut down whenever I tried talking to you.
Brooke (drinking and swallowing random pills): I don't need you or this baby
Millicent (snatches the bottle and pill container from Brooke): You are pregnant for Christ's sake
Brooke (walking toward the bathroom): I am going to take a bath
Millicent (stands in Brooke's way): You are not killing yourself on my watch
Brooke (hopeless, she collapses on the bed): I want to die. I am a pregnant raped victim. I am just another statistic. My life is meaningless.
Millicent (shows Brooke the baby's sonogram): I thought this picture might help you. You are carrying a life. You do have a purpose after all.
Brooke (doubtful): I long for sobriety
Millicent: I will take you to rehab then
Scene: ON the road to rehab-in Millicent's car
Brooke (weary): Millie, can we stop by Clothes over Bros
Millie (drives into the store's parking lot): Sure
Brooke (hops out of the car): This won't take long
(Luckily, the store is empty so Brooke begins taking clothes off the hangers and throws them onto the ground. Millicent bears witness to Brooke's craziness.)
Millicent (yelling): Brooke!
Brooke (hysterical): Everything is vanity. My life doesn't have a purpose.
Millicent: You are pregnant. Doesn't that mean anything?
Brooke (livid): I am carrying a demon. I want it to die.
Victoria (entering the store): I can pay for the abortion
Millicent (yelling): Victoria!
Victoria: Brooke is better off without the demonchild
Millicent: Brooke's baby might change the world someday. Who knows?
Victoria: I believe the abortion will restore order
Brooke (sobbing, she runs out of the store): I need some air
Millicent (follows Brooke up to the roof): Don't jump off the roof
Scene: The Roof
Action: Depressed, Brooke stands on the edge of the roof. She is contemplating suicide.
Brooke (stares down at the world below her): I feel weightless here up on the roof
Millicent (puts a comforting hand on Brooke's shoulder): If you stay alive, things will get better eventually
Brooke (lightning a cigarette): What if my pain never ends?
Millicent: I can help you
Victoria (annoyed, she demands): You're too late. She doesn't need saving. Just Let her go.
Millicent: Why can't you see that I am trying to save Brooke's life?
Victoria: Your sweet Brooke is long gone. Drugs have taken over.
Brooke (backing away from the edge): I choose life. I long for sobriety. My baby and I deserve to have a future.
Millicent: I will take you to rehab then
