Scene: Tree High Football stadium

Action: sitting on the bleachers, True Davis draw pictures. She also observes the cheerleaders and football players practice for an upcoming game. She is waiting for Brooke pick her up. All of the cheerleaders except for Rhonda Jaybird tease True. Rhonda grows quite fond of True.

Rhonda (sitting beside True on the bletchers): What are you drawing?

True (concealing het drawing): Its none of your business

Rhonda ( catching a glimpse of True's sketches): Those are some pretty clothes

True (leaving the stadium): I have to go

Rhonda (following True): Who is taking you home?

True: My mom

Rhonda: Cool. I want to meet her.

Scene: The car riders' lane

True (getting into the car): Hello, Mom

Brooke (smiling): Hello, True

Rhonda (standing outside True' car door): humm..

True (rolling down her window): How may I help you?

Rhonda: The name is Rhonda Jaybird. People call me Ronnie for short. Unlike my peers, I really want to be your friend.

True (delighted): My name is True Davis. I accept your friend request, Ronnie.

Rhonda (walks away smiling): I will see you around then

True (rolling up her wndow): Bye

Brooke (delighted): My baby has a new friend

True: Ronnie is my first black friend, but it won't last long

Brooke: Is Ronnie a cheerleader?

True: Yes

Brooke: she will be a bad influence on you

True: You are a total racist

Brooke: race has nothing to do with it

(True spends the rest of the day at Clothes Over Bros with Brooke where she works at the cash register.)


Date: The Scotts' House-after work

True (growing impatient and restless): I am tired and hungry

Brooke (Ringing the doorbell): Just be patient. This won't take long.

Peyton (opening the door): Hello

Brooke (pushing True into the house): My daughter needs guidance

Peyton: How so?

True: I met my first black friend at school today. Her name is Rhonda aka Ronnie. She is a cheerleader.

Peyton: How may I offer you guidance?

Brooke: Peyton, we were cheerleaders in high school. Please share with True the pros and cons of being a cheerleader's friend.

Peyton: Why couldn't you tell True yourself?

Brooke: True won't listen to me

Peyton: I am quite busy. I was cooking dinner and helping my daughters with their homework before you showed up.
