Oniyuri Part 1
-Kuo Kuana-
Blake, Mi, Sun and Ghira were outside the base of the White Fang. After notifying Sienna Khan, the current leader of the White Fang that Mi will be joining them and letting them know of her as a human, Sienna decided to let them as long as she is being let known about anything new.
Outside the courtyard of the White Fang, which is a training course for the combatants, Blake, Sun, Mi and Ghira were seated in front of a coffee table to have the meeting took place.
"You sure you wanted to do this, Miss Belladonna?" Asked Mi.
"I can't run anymore. Now that the White Fang are here." Blake responded. Sun places a hand on her shoulder, letting her know that he is here if needed. Blake nodded in response, having no choice but to trust him should anything go wrong.
-Mistral-
After landing safely in Mistral, Weiss and Neptune thanked the pilot before he heads off back to Atlas. It was raining, Neptune was still unease at the sight of raindrops, but he decided to take a deep breath and takes out an umbrella and holds it over himself and Weiss. Weiss smiled at him.
With her, he is less afraid. Her presence gave him a calm relief. "It's weird. Usually I don't go out in the rain, but now I have to start enduring some more. I didn't realized how fresh it feels to feel the moist." Neptune admits.
"That's the thing. You felt your anxieties are going away when you breath into the rain." Weiss was surprised that he never goes out in the rain, but didn't say anything but to have him to feel the fresh air. "It's like the remedy to feel nothing but closure." Weiss adds.
"Really?" Neptune asked, but before they can continue to talk, Neptune notices two of the Black Vipers scouting around, while in regular clothing, he could tell they are giving them the looks of suspicion. Neptune then drags Weiss to an alleyway and held her in his arms tightly. Causing Weiss to blush, but at the same time, taken aback.
"Neptune?" She asked. But Neptune softly told her not to say anything as he held her tightly and to gesture her to hide her face by resting it on his shoulder. Weiss figured what was going on and hid her face pressing against his shoulder and wrapped her arms around him, and due to their mutual feelings for each other, they embraced to not seem like they are running away. Then the two Black Vipers left as they didn't get a good look at the two.
"Ugh, teenagers." Said one of the Black Vipers, a bit annoyed to see young couples nowadays, seeing the two hugging. Then the other Viper had a jolt of shock when he thinks of something not being right. "Hold on, that kid with the blue hair. And the girl-" He turned back to Neptune and saw them running away from the Vipers.
"Hey, you two!" One Viper shouted as Weiss and Neptune ran for their lives. Recognizing Weiss as the target.
"Any ideas now?!" Weiss said.
"Right now, we got to run!" Neptune said.
"Know what, that's a good plan!" Weiss agreed in a panic as the two held each other's hands and never letting go. Not caring for the scratches she might receive on the run, nor the pain from running in her heels, Weiss just felt free running with him.
After losing sight of the two Vipers after them, they ran into the clothing store. Hiding behind the lower wall to not be seen through the window and once they were gone, they stood up. Neptune and Weiss sighed in relief.
Later, they were at a local restaurant, with Weiss hiding by wearing a navy-blue cloak. Neptune offers dinner as consolation for the earlier disaster back in Atlas.
"I never thought those fried rice would be so delicious!" Weiss said while picking up the food from her plate, it was full of minced corn, carrots and peas. shrimp and chicken. She never tasted something very explosive to the flavor. "You didn't have to do this!" Weiss told him.
"Weiss, you've been through very much. And it's still my fault that I caused you the embarrassment and misfortune. For that, I felt bad. I just wanted to make you feel welcomed. And hey, I said I'll show you around Mistral when we get out of Atlas and here we are." Neptune said. "The point is, I only want to make you happy." He adds. He then slips his hands over Weiss', making her cheeks painted pink. His hands may look hard. But his touch is soft, and warm enough to subside her cold touch.
The sight of his eyes was like gazing at the stars in the night sky for the longer she stared at them. Bringing the comfort to her once-frozen heart. While it was painful to love one another, it was also nice to feel the emotion they both wished to have. Their hearts are intertwined for a reason.
Neither had thought they had felt for the other. Neptune thought Weiss will never feel the same for him because he thought he wasn't good to anyone. Weiss thought Neptune will never like her back because of her family history. But it was in the past and they will focus on each other's happiness.
"Did you get any of my letters?" Neptune asked. Weiss blinked in confusion. "W-what letters?" She cannot remembered the last time she had been given letters. "Wait, you didn't get any of my letters?" Asked Neptune.
"No, I don't remember the last time I received it. How come...?" Weiss then figured her father would file them away to not have anything to do with him. It angers her that Jacques will go as far as to distance her from anyone trying to reach out.
"Figures that my father would hid them." Weiss snarled. Neptune took her hand to assure her. "Don't worry about them. What matters was that you're okay. I have an apartment since Haven Academy is closed for unknown reasons."
"You have an apartment? How come?" Asked Weiss.
"Because like I said, I don't want my parents to worry about me all the time. It was last month that I rented it after Beacon fell. I didn't say anything to them since I was preparing to move out. If you met my mom, she's a bit of a helicopter parent. If word gets out, her health would get worse." He hates to lie to his parents, but he didn't want them to be too protective all the time being the youngest of 6. It hurt him to see his mother in a state she won't be able to recover from. Weiss then remembers the times she sees her mother passed out due to her alcoholism. It also hurt her of the possibilities of death.
"Neptune, it will be 20 times worse if you didn't say anything to your mother." Weiss said.
"Huh?"
"You keeping things from your family is not the way. It will even hurt your parents as well. I wish my family was like yours. Where they can share the burden and not felt estranged. My father only married my mother for the Schnee name and fortune. And my mother had been taking a glass of wine every single time. No matter what I said or how many times I tried to stop my mother, none of it works, and she cant even look at me, or Whitley anymore, and cant even stand against my father. Everyone else thinks easily about their wealth. But no, it's not great at all. And in the end, I have to leave my mother, my brother. I felt like I betrayed them, even my own grandfather might be disappointed."
"Weiss that's not true. I am sure he wouldn't want you stuck with the burden." Neptune assured her. "You're right, I cannot hide things from my parents. I just can't trust myself to do it. I'm sorry for what your mom went through, but right now, this is for her to decide."
"No, it's fine. I will have to find another way." Weiss continued to hold onto Neptune's hand. "I have to ask. If the law firm was shut down. Why would you have me your mother's number if she is ill?" She asked.
"I know it's risky. But I thought by giving you that number, you would ask her for advice. Or maybe you can use it to let your dad know who my mom is and he will back off, so that he won't hurt you anymore. I'm sorry I wasn't honest earlier for that, Weiss. I promise you that it was to help keep you safe. But it didn't work." Weiss never condones dishonesty. But she knew he has genuine reason to lie. "While I don't like dishonesty, I know you have sincere reasons." Weiss told him.
Neptune took thought of this, it was clear that Weiss misses her mother and wished there was something he can do to help her. He knew the risk of Weiss' father might interfere his attempts to help Weiss. But the motivation to keep the girl he loves happy, Neptune decided what might lead to death.
I will give back what was rightfully yours, my Snow Angel. He vowed in silence, he hopes to make it come true or die trying. Either way, he does not want to live in fear anymore. He had risked his life before, and he will do it again for his love. To give back Weiss everything her father had taken from her.
"You won't be alone, Weiss." Neptune reassures her, and kissed her hands as he held them. "Not only you have me, but you also have your friends, your team. When we see them again, we will find a new way." He said.
The determination in his eyes, it got Weiss concern for his safety. She was enlightened by his words, so tendered, and very heartfelt. His voice had deepend since they hadn't seen each other in a year, the way he speaks had softened her ears. She didn't want to risk him getting hurt, or worse, killed at the hands of her own father. Even if she is no longer and heiress, it didn't mean her father would not try to take her back for complete control.
Neptune, I can't let you take that risk for my sake. You being here, it was already enough for me. My love, my light. You already saved me as it is. She thought.
"You being here, it's already enough, Neptune. I can't let you fight my battles. It's mine alone to deal with." Though Neptune wanted to protect her, he cannot interfere either. Instead, he will only be here if she needs him. And he will have to let Weiss fight her way because like him, she is a hunter. "Okay. Just let me know if you need me." He said.
After the conversation was finished, Weiss and Neptune continued eating. The lantern candle in the middle of the table still lit.
"What do you think, it will be Tai? A boy, or a girl?"
"If you ask me, I am fine with either. But I am sure the baby will be born amazing, just like her mom."
"Your mother had grown too protective even if the baby isn't born yet."
"Oh, come on, Summer. You know my mom loves you."
"I'm worried though."
"Why is that?"
"I'm kinda afraid that the future might have something stored for our kid. And it can't be good."
"Summer, I know it natural to feel scared for a life of a newborn, but you should take it easy."
"This is serious!"
"Summer, these past 5 months, you had me worried with that look on your face."
"What are you talking about? Maybe I am just tired."
"Summer, I know that look since Beacon. Are you having some doubts again?"
"Okay, in a way. I'm just scared that whatever happens next won't be good for this child, Yang, and even us. Sometimes I have been having nightmares. That I might leave our children alone and devastated."
"Summer..."
"It's silly. I know."
"No, that's not what I meant. After we got together, I also have dreams where you..."
"Tai?"
"Where I might lose you."
"Why do those nightmares keep happening?"
"I won't let our family go, Summer."
"I won't let go either, Tai."
-Atlas-
In the maximum prison for high-level criminals, Mercury is sitting in his cell. Now with prosthetics with no weapons on it. He grew bored, and not that he cared that he was inside the cell. He was hoping someone will break him out, Emerald to say the least.
Then his cell opened, a guard carrying a white box. "Mr. Black, someone bought you a cake. Not like you deserve it." The guard glared at him, disgusted at seeing Mercury's face. And he just left the cake on the floor. And leaves his cell after closing it again.
Mercury got up with his weaponless prosthetics, and walked towards the cake. Opens the box and sees the note next to the cake.
"Inside the cake."
Mercury dug this hands through the cake and sees a scroll inside. "Ugh, pineapple. I hate pineapple." It was ringing an unknown number. Mercury wasted no time to answer. "Who is this?"
Somewhere in Atlas Academy, Zeos, disguised as a soldier called Mercury through the scroll. Putting on a cap after tying up a soldier he knocked out. "This war isn't over, yet. Be ready." He called and then hung up while exiting the closet.
-Oniyuri-
Team RNJRSS were finally in the town of Oniyuri. Or rather what's left of it. Just like with Shinegure, it was also empty. It was once a village to act as a substitute home after Kuroyuri is destroyed. But it did not mean the place wouldn't be the Grimm's target.
It was eerie to see such a scene. "We're here. Just a few ahead and we head to Kuroyuri." Ren stated. "I used to come here as a child before another Grimm attack came. To buy dusts, or some groceries." Ren said as they stared at the town.
"First Shinegure amd now this." Said Scarlet. "I'm gonna get us some firewood for the night."
"Good idea, Nora and I will come with." Ren said. With Nora following them. "Sage, you take the lookout. Jaune and I will take a look around." Sage nods as Shoji wags his tail, waiting for another command from his owner. Then whimpers as he was worrying for the others. "I feel you, boy." He sighs.
Jaune and Ruby went around the village to see if there are enemies nearby. It was quiet, drained of life since they were children. Most notably, how quickly the scene became more dire and destructive.
"Do you ever get the feeling that time has decided what we have to do?" Asked Jaune.
"I wish I knew. But I guess what's done is done." Ruby replied. Jaune cannot help but feel something on the inside. It feels quenching with anger again. As if what was going on now is not enough.
"Ruby."
"Huh?"
"In case I lost myself. If I had gone rogue. Promise me that you'll stop me." Jaune requested. Ruby grew concerned for Jaune's wellbeing. The eyes felt quivering as he grew concern that he might act up before thinking again. Like what happened in Most Hollows.
"Jaune, stop talking like that. We will make it through this." Ruby tried talking him out of doubting himself again.
"No, Ruby. This is serious."
"What's wrong?"
"After what happened in Mist Hollows. I'm not sure if that might happen again. I didn't want that for the rest of us."
"Jaune, I know you. It's natural to get overly emotional. But you knew better." Jaune thought Ruby cannot bring herself to keep that promise. Feeling like he might end up a monster, no better than Cinder.
"But..." Jaune looks up at Ruby when she speaks. "I will help you snap out of it. I'll stop you. But not the way you would want. Jaune, I know you're scared, so am I. But whatever comes next, you still have friends. With friends, we're also family. Let's get going...together." Ruby promised her. Jaune felt hopeful again. "You got that, Vomit Boy?" Ruby called him by that nickname. Which made him laugh.
Jaune nodded. "Sure, Crater Face." He also called her by that nickname. Ruby smiled back. Since from now on, those nicknames are also codenames. Ruby and Jaune gave each other a fist bump.
Jaune still felt the same fright. About what he might become and the feeling of failure. Ruby steps in and took his hand. It was shaking, but as it was held by her. Jaune felt relaxed while still holding her hand. The nightmares had gotten too much. But Ruby and Jaune's bond remained strong. Ruby looks to Jaune and nods. Jaune smiles, thanking Ruby for her support. Both felt the guilt of not saving their two friends, but they have to work together in order to get closure.
For Pyrrha, for Penny. They have to keep moving to honor their lost friends. And Jaune and Ruby, felt the connection they never thought of before. As if time has written what might lie ahead.
On the rooftops, Kali (not the Kali from Menagerie) and Yomaru we're watching from above, as neither Juane and Ruby were unaware of the seekers spying on them.
"Is that them?" Kali asked.
"Those silver eyes were of no doubt. And the guy with the shield, it's the symbol of the Arc Family. We must be close." Yomaru confirmed.
"You think those are the huntsmen destined to fight against Salem?" Kali asked. Unsure if they found the right people.
"My father told me that a member of the Arc Family and a warrior of silver eyes were the only ones that can beat Salem together. If I am correct, those two were fated to meet this destiny."
"I don't think this is right to push these two into fighting Salem. Even if this is to change the future, what good will it do? Tell me, Yomaru, are we doing the right thing?" Asked Kali. As a leader, she has to think of the best way for the future of Remnant. But her dark past came running back, unsure if she is fit to be a huntress.
"Kali, I can't say we do. Even if this is for the right reasons, it didn't mean we won't have regrets. Believe me, I felt a bit doubtful as well. Being a clone to one of Watts' projects, I hate myself for this."
"I was an assassin under Adam Taurus. Before I became a weapon against humanity to be pitted against my mom. But in the end, you came. I cannot bring myself to kill you. Yomaru, I am not asking for your forgiveness. But you set me free from Salem's grasp. All of Adam's lies, it almost cost me for what I have in our timeline." Kali said. Looking at Gambol Shroud. The blonde cat faunus felt guilty running through.
"But you managed to break free. Salem and Adam may have molded you into a weapon, but it didn't mean you are nothing. You are now the Queen of Menagerie and the rightful heir of the White Fang. Most of all, a leader of Team KYTE."
"What do I do if I see Adam in this timeline?" Asked Kali, fearing she would have to fight him.
"I cannot say, but that is for you to decide. If anything, we cannot risk the future by defeating the enemy early. Let's not forget we're here not just for the relic, but also find Watts before he changes the timeline." Yomaru reminds her.
As queen of Menagerie, it is her duty that Remnant must come first. And their job right now was to make sure the timeline stays exactly the way it is, with the only exception to being the tic of Choice before Cinder and Salem gets their hands on it. Kali then removes her face mask and kisses Yomaru on the lips. Yomaru was astonished by that move, but the more he held still, the more passionate the kiss gets as he wrapped his right arm around her.
Kali wasn't sure if her love for a human like Yomaru was right. But feeling the love they both have for each other, it felt more right than wrong. "In case we don't see each other anymore in a new timeline."
"I hope we can still meet, even if the time alters." Yomaru feared that once Salem is defeated in the past, time will be changing and they won't be able to meet each other in the future. But the hope they have is when they can meet in a new era where Salem can no longer exists.
-Anima-
Jupiter and Tyler knelt before the seer, and communicating with Watts, who is on the other side of a holographic line.
"Forgive me, Doctor. We were this close to capturing the Ironwood's top puppet. But she has escaped." Jupiter informed Winter's escape from him. "But luck was on our side when Zeos informed me that the heiress is close. Thanks to my younger brother who helped her escape from Atlas."
Watts closed his eyes a bit when thinking on what to do next. "Well then, perhaps we should thank your brother for giving us the advantage."
"Only one problem. According to Zeos, my brother became aware that I'm alive and now he's rebelling against us. I doubt he would be of good use if he finds out about this." Jupiter warned him.
"Recruit him." Jupiter blinked as he looked up to the hologram of his mentor.
"What?" He said.
"You have to recruit him. All you have to do is to convince your younger brother to join us. He seems one step ahead than we think. After all, he's your family." Jupiter is shocked that Watts now wants to recruit more of his family members, his elder triplet sister want nothing to do with him. His younger brother is too gentle as their father. But to burden too much of their relatives would be painful. Even if Jupiter comes to the side of darkness, he didn't want to involve his youngest brother.
"I didn't mean to question you about this, Doctor. But to bring my brother into this? He's an idiot. He won't join us cause he was too weak-willed." He tried to dissuade his mentor out of it. But the mad scientist was too persistent.
"This is not up to debate, Jupiter."
"Remind me again why you recruited me?" Jupiter asked.
"You're too smart, Jupiter. Besides, you're like a son to me. More importantly, you were like me. A man being looked down upon that anyone cannot see the potential. And would do anything to make the vision clear. Have you forgotten what the Schnee Family did to you? To your family? What Winter Schnee had done to your elder brother?" Watts uses words of lies to get Jupiter to stay on the side of Salem.
Jupiter cannot help but think, of he can get Neptune on his side, he won't have a problem protecting him. As he wants his younger brother to be the last Vasilias alive. But Zeos is nothing but an artificial puppet created in a pod with his brother's DNA. And the thought of Winter who had "killed" his elder brother, it was the last straw when Atlas can get away with such things. He clenched hi la fist.
"Fine. I'll get him to join us. On one condition, you get rid of Zeos. That clone is nothing more than a carbon copy of Neptune." Jupiter says.
"And why is that you want to get rid of him?" Watts asked raising an eyebrow.
"You remember 19 years ago? Uncle Hyperion, under my grandfather's command, requested that you take the DNA sample of my brother when he was a baby at the time, in order to clone him. Since then, Zeos was created and tormented my own brother. If I recruit my brother, he will replace Zeos. Neptune may be a coward, but I promise you, his intelligence could be of use." Jupiter promises.
Watts was given thought. Though he created Zeos, and was posing as Neptune and Jupiter's cousin. Watts knew that Zeos was too rebellious and overzealous. And could rebel against him anytime.
"Very well, I should speak to our queen before we can process this. In the meantime, Jupiter and Tyler. Keep an eye on Cinder until I give the word. I fear she might do something she won't even regret."
"Thank you, Doctor. We'll keep you updated." Jupiter nodded.
"I'm surprised Dr. Watts didn't give you a reprimand." Tyler said. "Still, Zeos? A clone? What are the odds?"
"Zeos is not family. Not if he is just Neptune's carbon copy created in a pod. And it's sickening."
Tyler blinked as he was a bit shocked that Zeos' existence was nothing more than artificial creation.
"Still, aren't clones living beings?" Asked Tyler.
"They may be breathing but they are the worse. Having a clone with my blood, is an insult to my family. I can't let that clone live for long. And he was going to so the same thing with other children of huntsmen." Jupiter explains.
"One thing is clear, Cinder is mine for the finishing blow." Said Jupiter.
"That's the same thing you said about the Schnee Soldier." Tyler mumbled digging his toothpick through his teeth after having ramen for dinner.
"I will have to take another strategy to take out Salem and the Schnees once and for all." Jupiter and Tyler stood up and continued walking to think of another plan. "Four relics, and there will be a world where we will be free. Free from Salem, free from Watts, free of the Schnees. A world where no one will suffer."
"And if your brother tries to stop us?" Tyler asked.
"Then I will have no choice but to put him out of misery. This way, he won't have to suffer. Just like I had." Jupiter said.
Author's note: We have another character named Kali after Kali Belladonna from Menagerie. She is a cat faunus like Blake but also with blonde hair like Sun's.
I am taking inspiration of other video games for some ideas for an OC character. The Kali from the future is named Queen of Menagerie for unknown reasons, but that's another fanfic I will have to put on hold for a spin off sequel of RWBY where it took place in a dystopian future where Salem had won.
Again, I will have to put that sequel fanfic on hold. Part 2 will come.
Also Jupiter reveals Zeos is actually Neptune's clone created by Watts, which is the reason why Zeos wants to get rid of Neptune and take over his life. While remain hidden from sight.
Jaune feared he might end up rogue and asked Ruby to stop him if it happens.
Also Kali (from the future) has a romantic interest in Yomaru Daichi in the future timeline and they along with the rest of their teammates traveled back in time to find the relic of choice.
Meanwhile, Jupiter planned to get his younger brother to side with him should his plans failed. But Neptune isn't going to let his brother brainwash him.
