These are in between chapters, mostly focusing on one central character. These are important and are not recommended to be skipped because of some stuff that will come up later.

I have updated some of the story chapters 1 and 3 with some changes; the rest just updated grammar and spelling. Also, I changed it so that it is no longer in crossovers on fanfic; now it is in the regular One Piece category just because it is mainly a one-piece fic. Wattpad and A03 are still the same.

Anyway, on to the story. (Also, no fun facts in interludes.)

East Blue, Tenya Island (1 year before Luffy started his adventure)

A young teen wakes up in the forest wearing school clothes and with beautiful blond hair, now getting soaked in the rain.

"What happened?" she said, and then it dawned on her. She vividly remembers fighting a witch named Charlotte and then dying to the witch. She realized her friends Madoka and Sayaka were there, left to die. "No, I didn't protect them; I failed," she said now, understanding how she failed to protect them.

She curled up into a ball and started to cry. She lost everything; now she was alone and weak, not understanding the situation at all.

She thought of her situation and was coping with the fact that she was still alive. "Why wasn't I dead yet?" she thought.

After a few hours, the young teen got up because she ran out of tears. She starts to get up and walk around in the pouring rain.

After some time, she finds a town with two rows of buildings that are mostly run down, but lights are visible through the windows, showing people living there.

At the end of the rows of buildings was a giant Marine base, mostly covered with moss and greenery. However, she collapsed on the ground due to the fatigue she had. People started to come outside to see the young girl.

"Is she alright?" said a civilian 1. "I need to call Commander John. He likely has medical supplies," said civilian 2.

"We are crucial on supplies; we can't," said civilian 1 but was cut off by civilian 2. "We need to get help for her."

A few hours later

The young girl woke up in bed covered with bandages. She looked around to see if anyone was there. "Hello, is anyone?" she said, but felt a rupture of pain in her head, like her head had been ripped off and then put back on. After stopping, she looked at her surroundings and saw a medical table, pictures of some marines, and a lantern on the small desk.

A few minutes later, a tall marine came in to check in on the young teen, only to find her awake.

"Good morning, how are you feeling?" said the man; however, the young teen got scared and pulled her cover up towards her, not knowing what was happening. The man stepped away from her to make her more comfortable.

"Sorry, I scared you. My name is John, and I'm the captain of this marine base," said John. The young teen looked confused. "Marines? I'm somewhere in America, how is he speaking perfect Japanese" thought the young teen in confusion.

"Ok, can you tell me your name?" said John, who looked worried about the young teen and her condition. "My name is Mami," said Mami, holding her cover-up to her face, scared.

"You don't have to be scared; you are safe here. Marines protect civilians from other threats like pirates and bandits," said John; however, Mami looked at him with a confused look, knowing that bandits and pirates are old terms.

"Bandits and pirates, what year is this?" said Mami, who started slowly putting down the covers.

"Geez, years, we normally use eras; it would be the Post-Gol D. Roger era," said John; however, this caused Mami to be even more confused. John saw the expression Mami was giving, and his eyes widened in realization.

"You are an anomaly, a person who comes from another world, or, in Vegapunk terms, another universe," said John, who was shocked by the revelation.

"Wait, there are others like me that exist," said Mami. "Yes, Mami, but you can't tell people this, or else people will exploit you, whether it be your body, powers, or mind," said John, which caused Mami to get a chill up her spine.

Mami briefly thought about the implications of what John just said.

"Yeah, I would recommend hiding your status, and if you have powers, hide that too, from everyone," said John.

"I did have powers, but I don't know..." said Mami, and then ribbons started to appear out of her sheets. Then Mami explains her power and what happened to her but leaves out the part about her death since she was uncomfortable sharing that.

"I see. I will tell you more once you get better," said John.

...

(a few days later)

Marine base, Cafateria

A few dozen marines were sitting in the cafeteria while Mami and John were in the back kitchen, eating on a back table.

Mami couldn't wrap her head around all the crazy stuff in this world. A fruit that gives you abilities, the normalcy of pirates, emperors, warlords, and world geography. The only thing she understood was Magic but this magic was different from hers since no one had a soul gem and she also now doesn't have a soul gem.

"So the Marines are the ones who take down the pirates," said Mami. "Yes, but I do need to tell you that not all marines are good; some do corrupt things, don't get the idea that marines do the right thing, and some kill other members, especially Akainu and the sadistic bitch Esdeath," said John.

"Son, the girl is 14; don't swear in front of her," said an older lady wearing regular clothing.

"Sorry, Mom," said John, embarrassed. "Don't worry, Chelly, I'm fine; I don't like it when older men make gratifying remarks toward me," said Mami.

"I mean, every woman would always feel uncomfortable, even me, a woman in her mid-60s," said Chelly.

Then a marine walked into the kitchen to eat and sit right next to John. "So why did, the pirate cross the seas," said the man. "we are discussing something important Alec," said John not joking. "To commit suicide," said Alec

"I and Mami are talking about something important here," said John who was visibly angry

"Come on, commander, we can joke around from time to time," said Alec. "That wasn't funny," said John, Chelly, and Mami.

"NOW GET OUT OF MY KITCHEN," said Chelly, forcing out Alec.

...

(a few months later)

Mami couldn't become a Marine because she didn't meet the age requirement of 16. However, during this time, she was training with some of the Marines. She was far weaker than she remembered, only being able to summon two light guns at a time and use a few of her ribbons; luckily, she could use the red variety to nullify powers.

She also noticed that the town is poor, but everyone seems happy and has plenty of food. Chelly did have to make new clothes for her, so she didn't have to look like a schoolgirl every day.

In a few months, she never really fought pirates; she only really used her powers on sea kings, which still scared her. however, today that was about to change.

"We are under attack by the Clay Pirates," said John from the intercom.

"Hey, Mami, let's go," said one of the Marines.

Mami and the marines ran out of the marine base to find pirates heading toward the town and heard gunfire.

"That's probably the first responders," thought Mami. She arrived to find the Marines fighting the pirates. Mami uses her ribbons to take down the rest of the pirates. "Thanks for the help," said one of the marines. "Where is Captain Clay?" said Mami.

"Oh yeah, he's in the forest where John is fighting; be careful, Mami, he is dangerous," said the marine.

Mami travels to the forest and finds John lying on the ground, bleeding out. "JOHN," said Mami, running towards him. "Wait, don't," said John. However, it was too late. Mami was smacked hard into a tree, now bleeding.

Mami gets up to see the captain of the Clay Pirates. "Well, well, what do we have here, a young one, eh?" said the pirate.

"Shut up," said Mami as she made her ribbon guns and shot at the pirate; however, instantaneously after getting pierced, the hole where the bullet went through became clay and reformed as if nothing happened.

"Oh, what's wrong? Can't hit me," said the pirate smirking. This caused Mami to frantically shoot, but nothing worked.

The pirate grabbed Mami and pinned her to the tree. "STOP," said John. "Come on, once I play with my trophy, I will kill the rest of you," said The Pirate as he poured more mud on John to slow his movement even more. This caused Mami to almost scream, but the Pirate moved his hand on her face.

The pirate put his right hand on Mami's clothes, but before he could get his way with her, Mami stabbed him in the eye with a red ribbon. "Oh, YOU FUCKING BITCH, HOW DID YOU TOUCH ME THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE IMPOSSIBLE?" said the pirate, trying to run at Mami, but Mami ties him with multiple red ribbons before he has another chance.

"You tried to rape me," said Mami, still in shock at what happened. Then Mami formed one of her ribbon guns. "We can talk about this," said the pirate, being desperate; however, Mami shoots the pirate in the heart, killing him with zero hesitation.

Mami falls to the ground, crying. John manages to get out of the clay, but due to his injuries, he can't move.

The Marines arrived to help John. "What's wrong?" said Alec, then he saw the captain of the pirate crew dead on the ground.

"Mami, what happened?" said one of the other Marines, but she pushed past him and ran off. "John, what happened?" said Alec.

...

(later) Marine Base, Mami Room

Mami couldn't believe what happened; even witch-hunting wasn't as bad as what she experienced today.

She sat in bed, reflecting on this world, its dangers, and the what-ifs. She questioned herself once again.

"Why am I here, who sent me here, and what is my purpose?" said Mami, who decided to just go to sleep after she covered herself in bandages to stop the bleeding.

...

Alec is walking upstairs to his room and looks around to see any wandering eyes. Alec entered his room, locked the door, and covered his window.

Then Den Den Muchi rang, which Alec picked up with a big frown on his face. "Hello, Epstainies," said Alec in an angry tone.

"Ah, my boy Alec, have you gotten more pictures of my product?" said Epstainies in a malignant tone.

"Ugh, I can't keep doing this. It's wrong," said Alec, who was very uncomfortable.

"Now, son, remember, I'm the one who funds your small town. Remember, for every child your town exchanges, I give you 50,000,000 beli, but since it is an anomaly, it will be 10 times that price," said Epstainies.

"Don't call me Son," said Alec. "OK, son, send those pictures over. I want two clothed and four nudes, and then I will come in a few months to pick her up to add to my collection, and I will free your mother too," said Epstainies.

"You will never be my father, you pedophile," said Alec, sending the pictures through a picture transponder snail. "Ah, these pictures aren't even worth anything; remember, I love you, son," said Epstainies, ending the call.

Alec throws all his stuff off the table. "I'm sorry, Mami, but I'm selfish; my family and town are more important than you," said Alec, throwing the pictures into a can and lighting them on fire.

End of Interlude #1

A/N: Yeah, this chapter is kind of fucked up, but the story is rated M for a reason, duh. Also, there will be more themes like this; it won't be that common, don't worry.

Question 1#

1.) Do the OCs have to be good, bad, or neutral to the straw hats?

Ans: They can be whatever you want—bad, good, evil, fucked up—it doesn't matter.

2) Can the OC be a product of anomalies?

Ans: Yes, they can be.

Also, I got some ideas and OCs. They will be used later in the story, but expect them soon; however, no promises when.

Sorry, I haven't been active. But I will try to add more chapters. I did start on Chapter 6, though, so expect that soon.
