On the way home, Ada was talking to herself again.

"George, what should I do with Perry? Now he's accusing me of having you murdered and now telling me what to do! I don't know how you would handle this, George. He's going through some of your old cases that didn't get solved when you stepped down."

She was happy to spend some time with Perry today, but didn't like how they both were fighting, which was hard to stop doing right now.

"George, please come back home. I need you right now."

Ada heard the phone ring in the living room. She went to the phone and answered it.

"Hello?"

"Hi, Mom. I'll be out for a while in case you come over early."

"Where are you going, Perry?"

"Out with the doctor to take a look at my car."

"I don't need to see it. It's not my car."

"I know, but I do need to see it for myself. I'll see you soon."

"Thanks for letting me know, Perry. I might show up at the house when you do."

"See you then, Mom. Just let yourself in the house. I'll just leave it unlocked."

"Thanks, Perry. I appreciate it."

After they hung up, Ada was happy to keep the house unlocked if she showed up before and had to wait until he came back. It took her a while to go through stuff in the closet of her bedroom, but there really wasn't any reason to rush and head over.

When she finished finding what she needed, Ada decided it was now the perfect time to get back to Perry's house. Good thing he called ahead of time, which she was grateful for.

"George, please come back even though it wouldn't work. I know you can't come back. I need a lot of help, mostly with Perry."

She still felt lost and not sure what to do with herself since they learned he was dead.

George did have family of his own, but his mother and father aren't alive to have this kind of news about their son. He had two older sisters and one younger brother, but they all took it hard when she passed the news over to them. She didn't mind her in - laws, but didn't see any reason to be close to them. George did okay in that area, but there was no need for her to do the same thing.

One thing she knew for sure - Perry never had the chance to met them. The last time she heard, George's second sister was already gone, but that was ten years ago or something like that. Hard to keep track of that.

Ada couldn't help feeling sick to her stomach like before. She's never had that problem before until now learning about Perry and this car accident.

Once her car was parked in the driveway, Ada took her suitcase in the house. She opened the front door and let herself in. He does have a guest room in the house, so that would be her room for a while. Ada decided to lie down on the bed in the guest room. She somehow felt sick to her stomach, and it gave her a good idea to lie down until it was gone officially.

Perry would feel bad for her if he heard about feeling sick like this. Why did it have to be now? She's never been sick in a day of her life, and that included chicken pox and and upset stomach, and all the other stuff you can think of. Why now? She didn't understand.

She might be older now, but it hasn't slowed her down with not being sick in a day of her life. She'll save this for Perry when he comes back home, but he'll understand.

He showed up about half an hour later, and Ada was still lying down on the bed in the guest room.

"Mom! I'm back!"

He didn't see her in the living room after walking into the house, but did see the car in the driveway. He rode home with Della, but she did understand about them still fighting.

Perry looked all over the house for Ada, but the guest room was the last place he looked.

"Mom, are you okay? You've never been like this."

"I'm all right, just a upset stomach."

"You've never had that before. Do you need anything?"

"I'm okay, thank you. How did it go with the car?"

"Not good. The doctor says I still have a long way to recover from what happened the other day or so. I just can't have that same car back. It didn't look good. Just sharing with you about what the doctor and other people have been saying about recovery."

"Sorry, Perry. I felt sick too it's because of your father being gone."

"I understand, Mom. You can stay as long as you want, but you still need distraction."

"But you don't need to tell me what to do, Perry."

"That's why I let you volunteer at the office yesterday. You can do that tomorrow while I'm in court with everybody."

"So that means they're not going to ask the same questions, right?"

"I don't know. Probably not. I'll go get you some water and that could make you feel better."

"Thank you, Perry. I'll just stay here for a while longer."

"Take as much time as you need."

He showed up with a glass of water. She accepted it.

"I guess that's probably why I passed out and the recess for court had to be for the day. It's going to take a while longer for us, Mom. We might get over his murder after I solve it."

"I see your point," Ada said as she took the glass and drank some and put it down.

"I'll just keep it here. Thanks, Perry."

"You don't look good yourself. I'll be downstairs if you need me."

Then she fell asleep.

Note: I know this was short, but court is in the next chapter.
