Neither of them meant for this to happen.
It was just a simple get-together. The two of them at the public library reading a book and giving their thoughts on it.
It was supposed to be a way for the more reserved members of teams RWBY and JNPR to get away from the chaos that is their teams.
Between having Nora and Yang on their teams, it was a way to have some peace and quiet. Some time to themselves, so to say.
Neither of them planned on this sudden friendship of theirs to evolve into something more.
But Ren and Blake would admit later on down the line that it was the greatest decision of their lives.
"Maybe we were just tired of being pushed around!" As soon as those words left Blake's mouth, she knew she had messed up.
Her eyes widen and she clamps a hand over her mouth in a panic.
'Shit!' Blake curses in her mind.
She had just revealed the fact that, not only was she a Faunus, she was an ex-member of the White Fang.
This wasn't supposed to happen! Nobody was supposed to know about her past!
But Weiss had to be so infuriating.. so calice.. so...
So Racist!
Blake had been dealing with Weiss' attitude all day, and she had just finally snapped.
But looking at the Wide Eyed looks from her team, Blake knew it was a bad mistake.
Without another thought, Blake turns tail and runs. She runs away as fast as she could.
She could briefly hear someone calling out to her, but she didn't listen, as she continued to run away.
She ran and ran without a destination in mind. She didn't know where she could go.
Surely her team must hate her now! How could they not? Knowing she was an ex-member of a terrorist organization, as misguided as they were.
(In Blake's mind, that is).
She already knew how they were going to react. They'd be disgusted at the fact she used to be a part of the White Fang. They would definitely tell the headmaster, and everyone was going to be after her head.
She needed some place she could hide out. But she didn't know where. She'd have to find out fast, though.
Would she have to move to a different Kingdom? Would she even be accepted there? Or would they be hunting her down as well?
Maybe she could go to her parents?
No. Blake immediately discards that thought. They surely hate her as well. Especially after she abandoned them for the White Fang and called them cowards.
No, Blake can't go back to her parents.
But what could she do? How were the others going to react to learning she used to be in the White Fang?
How was he going to react?
Oum, she hadn't even thought about Ren up until this point. How would he react to learning the truth about her? He was definitely bound to find out with Yang being the chatter-box she is.
Would he hate her as well? Would he shun her like the rest?
Blake feels her heart breaking at the thought. Above all people, including her team and parents, she couldn't bare the thought of Ren hating her.
Although she wouldn't admit it, Blake had developed a bit of a crush on the Silent member of Team JNPR ever since that day in the Library.
[Flashback]
Blake was tired. She was annoyed. And she was close to snapping at someone.
Why, you may ask? Well, it's quite simple.
Her team.
What's going on? Allow me to explain.
You see, Blake's team was going through a rough patch. Weiss was being extra ordinarily difficult. She seemed to have it out against Ruby for some reason and seemed to make it well known through her actions.
Blake didn't know why Weiss had such a slight against her Team Leader, but she had an assumption that it had something to do with Weiss herself not being made Team Leader instead of Ruby.
Blake shakes her head. Headmaster Ozpin clearly chose Ruby for a reason. He wouldn't have just made her team leader unless he had a good reason to do so.
In Blake's mind, it was a reasonable choice as well. She may be young and a bit naive, but she was the best choice among the four of them.
Blake herself wasn't Leader material, she was too quiet for that. She preferred to stand back and let others take charge. Either way, she was content to go with the flow.
Weiss was too stuck up to be a leader, and was far too arrogant as well. She wouldn't instill that much confidence as a leader. Blake knew she wouldn't follow Weiss with her attitude.
Although that could be her bias as a Faunus talking.
And Oum knows Yang wasn't Leader material. Blake feels a shiver run down her spine at the thought of Yang, of all people, as team leader.
'It'd be a miracle if we didn't end up behind bars.' Blake thinks, knowing about Yang's more... destructive tendencies.
Another shiver.
No, Yang was not leader material at all.
Even so, the attitude of Weiss garnered the ire of Mama Yang, who didn't like how Weiss was treating Ruby, which leads to her current situation.
All the arguing between Weiss and Yang, and Weiss' harsh attitude had caused Blake to near her breaking point.
She needed to get away, and fast, otherwise she may say something she may regret.
Which leads us to where we are now.
Blake enters the Public Library, searching for a Certain Book.
The author of 'Ninjas of Love' had just released another book titled 'Makeout Tactics', and Blake had been wanting to read it as soon as it came out.
She hadn't had the chance to with what was going on with her team, but now that she had some time to herself, she would get the chance to.
It was why she chose to come to the Public Library. So she could Search for the book she was longing to read.
After entering, Blake searches a bit for the book, luckily being able to find it, as she pulls it off the shelf and makes her way to the reading area.
When she arrives, she spots a familiar Green Clad Figure, much to her surprise.
Ren would be seen sitting on one of the chairs there, as he held a book in one hand and a cup of tea in the other.
Blake observes the title of the book he was reading. 'Divergent', a good book series, one that Blake herself had read. But she was surprised someone like Ren was interested in those kinds of books. She'd have taken him for someone who enjoys classic literature more.
The saying 'the more you know' comes to Blake's mind, but she discards the thought.
"Ren?" Said Ninja looks up, and a surprised look crosses his face seeing who called him.
"Blake?" Ren says in surprise. "What are you doing here?"
Blake walks up with her book tucked under her arm. "I was going to ask you the same thing." She retorts.
Ren shrugs, as he places his cup of tea down and turns to her. "Nora was being extra... Nora-y today. I needed some time to myself." He says.
Blake snorts a little hearing his reasoning. Nora was very... well, Nora-y, as Ren put it. He had to have infinite patience to be able to deal with her on a daily basis. But it seemed even Ren needed to have some alone time.
Blake could understand, especially with what was going on with her team right now. She nods her head in understanding.
"I get it. Can I sit down?" She asks.
Ren looks at her in surprise, and Blake would even be surprised at her own question. She and Ren never really spoke to each other before.
Sure, they hung out, but that was mainly because their two teams hung out together, courtesy of Jaune and Ruby's friendship. But they never said a word to each other before aside from greetings.
So why was she trying to make the effort now?
It was probably because Ren was just like her in a sense that they had to deal with walking Chaos incarnate.
Yang for Blake, and Nora for Ren.
Speaking of Ren, said man gets over his surprise, as he nods his head. "Go ahead." Blake returns the nod, as she takes a seat opposite of his.
"So... what are you doing here?" Ren asks after a moment of silence.
Blake pauses to look at Ren as she considers answering him. Surely, there was no harm in doing so, right?
"Same as you, actually." Blake shrugs. "My team's going through a bit of infighting, and I just needed some time to myself. Away from everything." She explains.
Ren nods his head in understanding. "I get it. Everyone needs a break once in a while. I know I do." Said Ren.
Blake feels herself smirk, as she retorts. "I'd imagine, what with you having to deal with Nora on a daily basis. That's bound to get tiring." She points out.
Ren sighs tiredly at that. "You'd be right. I love Nora to death, but... she can be a bit much sometimes." He says.
Blake raises an eyebrow. "Are you and Nora?..." She trails off, as Ren gets the message. His eyes widen a bit, but he calms down and starts chuckling.
"Together? Oh no. Nora and I don't feel that way about each other. I see her as more of an annoying little sister than anything." Said Ren.
Blake's eyebrows raise in surprise. "That's shocking. Everyone thought you were into each other." She responds.
Ren makes a bit of a face at the thought of he and Nora being together. He shakes his head.
"Yeah, no. Wait, you said everyone believes this?" Ren asks in disbelief.
Blake nods. "Yeah. Yang even set up a betting pool as to when you two would get together." She tells Ren, who deadpans.
"Of course she did. Why am I surprised?" He shakes his head in exasperation.
Blake couldn't helpnthe snort that escapes her at this response. She was surprised at how easy she found it to talk with Ren. Most conversations and up with her feeling annoyed or wishing it would end.
But then again, Yang's teasing personality ensures that would happen to anybody.
She was just surprised that she didn't feel that way talking to Ren. Maybe it was the man's reserved personality, but Blake found it easier to be in his company than others, including her own partner at times.
But hey, she wasn't going to look a gift horse in the mouth. Maybe, just maybe, she could find a friend in Ren. Someone she could speak with books about.
She could do so with Weiss, but said woman's attitude made it harder to spend time with her than what was necessary.
She may not be able to speak about 'Ninjas of Love' with him, but anything else was fair game.
"You're not wrong." Blake finally responds.
Ren smirks a little himself, before picking up his cup of tea. As he goes to take a sip, he pauses and looks at Blake. "Would you like some tea?" He asks, gesturing to the extra cup he had, along with the kettle.
Blake nods her head, and Ren starts filling the cup up.
"Why do you have a second cup?" Blake asks as she takes the cup from Ren. She takes a sip and gets out a content hum.
"This is good tea." She says. Ren smiles a little and nods his thanks, before he answers her question. "I was actually supposed to hang out with Fox today. He recommended this book to me and wanted to share input with him on it." He explains.
Blake nods in understanding. "I was wondering why you were reading 'Divergent'. It didn't seem like something you would normally read." She says.
Ren chuckles a little. "You're right. But anyway, he ended up having to cancel due to having a sudden team meeting to go to. But I'm actually enjoying the book so far." He admits.
"That's a pleasant surprise, it seems." Blake notes. Ren nods his head in agreement.
"Indeed. What about you? What are you reading?" Ren questions.
At this, Blake gains a bit of an embarrassed look. "Uh, about that..." She hesitantly shows Ren what she is reading, expecting him to be weirded out by it.
The rest of her team did. Weiss called the book filth. Yang labeled it at smut, (which it wasn't!). And Ruby found it gross.
But to Blake's surprise, Ren just nods. "Ah, I see. It's a pretty good book, in my opinion." He said.
Blake looks at Ren with shock. "You read it?" She asks in disbelief.
Most people don't know this, but 'Ninjas of Love' isn't just a smut book as everyone claims it is. Sure, the book did have adult content in it, but the book was more story driven.
If anything, the adult content was done sparingly, and was a nice inclusion that went well with the plot of the story.
But nobody knew this. So to learn Ren read 'Makeout Tactics' was shocking.
Ren raises an eyebrow at Blake's shocked expression. "Yeah? I mean, 'Ninjas of Love' wasn't just some smut novel like everyone thinks it is. I had no reason to believe 'Makeout Tactics' would be different, despite it's name." He said.
Blake throws her hands up at this. "Thank you!" She uncharacteristically exclaims.
She had been trying to get others to see this forever. So forgive her for being happy that someone agrees with her.
"Shh!" The librarian shushes Blake, who quickly quiets down.
She continues more quietly. "I've been saying that for ages. No one ever believes me." Said Blake.
Ren hums in agreement as he sits his book aside. "The book does have a bad reputation. I don't understand where the rumor started that it was a smut novel." He says as he takes a sip of his tea.
"Neither do I." Blake responds. She takes a sip of her own cup.
Ren stays silent, as he appears to be contemplating something in his head, before seemingly coming to a decision on something.
He turns his attention back to Blake. "Perhaps.. we could talk about it?" Ren asks hesitantly.
[End Flashback]
She remembers that day vividly, as if it happened yesterday.
She remembers being surprised at his offer, before accepting.
Their first meeting becomes a second, and then a third. And not before long, it would become a regular occurrence for them.
It was just the two of them. Their moment of peace and quiet. A much needed break from their hectic lives.
Blake never expected to gain a crush on Ren, much less have that crush turn into something more. She doesn't remember when her crush stopped being just a crush, but the next thing she knew, she had fallen for the Green Clad Ninja.
Hard.
This revelation had been a shocking one for Blake. She had just got out of a messy relationship with Adam, and the revelation at how fast she had moved on was unexpected.
But Blake kept her mouth shut for obvious reasons.
She, as previously stated, had just gotten out of a toxic relationship. One she had been in for a long time. And she wasn't quite sure she was ready for another one.
Even then, she didn't know whether or not she was actually in love with Ren, or if it was something else entirely.
That, and she was a little apprehensive about entering a new relationship after what happened with Adam. It wasn't fair on Ren's end, but it wasn't as if she could help it either
She didn't exactly want to run what she had with Ren either on the off chance that he didn't feel the same as her.
So, it was a combination of all these things that led to Blake making the decision to keep her feelings for Ren a secret.
Now, thinking about a look of disgust on Ren's face, one aimed at her, made Blake want to break down and cry.
She was terrified of his reaction when he finds out. And with this fear comes a revelation. She loved Ren.
It wasn't an infatuation like she was beginning to think it was. And it wasn't puppy love.
No, she loved Ren. She was in love with him. And that scares her. Because he may hate her for what she is and what she used to be.
Without thinking, Blake's thoughts of Ren led to her legs taking her to a familiar location.
When Blake comes out of her thoughts, she looks up and finds herself at the Library. This surprises her. She hadn't even been meaning to come here.
It seems she unconsciously came here while thinking about Ren. She nay as well go in while she was here.
None of her team knew about her come here, so she would be safe for the time being.
Blake enters the library and slides against the door, onto the ground. She buries her face in her knees and feels tears come to her eyes.
Why did this have to happen? Why did she have to be so stupid? Her slip-up ruined everything. Everyone was bound to turn on her when they found out how she was a part of the White Fang. She didn't know what she was going to do now.
"Blake?"
Blake's head snaps up, and her eyes widen seeing Ren standing in front of her, looking at her in concern.
Ren was having a surprisingly good day.
Nora had mistaken a gesture of friendship by Jaune as a sign of affection during a game of truth or dare, and now she was making it her personal mission to be the best girlfriend she could be for him.
Ren knew that he should have corrected Nora, but he couldn't bring himself to do it.
No Nora means more time for Ren to enjoy himself.
This is what he is doing right now.
He would be in the Library reading a 300,000 word book, which he didn't have the time to read beforehand. But now that Nora was distracted by trying to earn Jaune's affection, Ren suddenly had a lot of time to himself.
Time he could spend doing some quality reading.
He can repay Jaune later. Maybe owe him a favor or something. But back on point.
Yes, Ren was a very happy man right now.
But that joy turns to concern when his friend, and secret crush, barges into the library before sliding onto the floor and burying her face in her knees.
Ren frowns with concern as he sees Blake's shoulders start shaking.
'Did something happen?' He wonders.
Ren shakes his head. Now wasn't the time to worry about that. He needed to check on Blake. And that is what he does.
Marking the spot in his book, Ren places it to the side and stands up, as he makes his way over to Blake.
When he reaches her, he sees how she didn't even notice his presence.
Listening closely, Ren could hear small sobs escaping Blake, which worries him even more.
What happened to put Blake in this state? He'd worry about it later. He had a friend to comfort.
"Blake?" He says quietly.
Blake looks at Ren with wide eyes. She clearly had not been expecting him.
Ren would be even more worried seeing her tear-stricken face, and it would show on his own.
He crouches down in front of Blake, as he sees her look away.
"What's wrong?" Ren asks softly.
He tries to out a hand on Blake's shoulder, but she flinches away from him.
This little gesture hurt Ren more than he thought it would. And it must have shown on his face as Blake stops pulling away, allowing him to put his hand on her shoulder.
"Did something happen?" He asks tentatively.
Blake looks at Ren and debates making a distraction with her Semblance and running for it.
But seeing the look of worry on Ren's face, as he looks down at her with such gentle eyes... Blake curses herself as she speaks before she could stop herself.
"Weiss and I got into an arguement." She blurts out.
Ren furrows his brows in confusion. Weiss and Blake arguing wasn't exactly uncommon. The two never really agreed on anything, especially when it came to Faunus.
It was understandable for Ren. Of course, Blake would feel offended that Weiss was insulting her race.
Yes, Ren indeed knew about Blake being a Faunus. It was pretty easy for someone as observant as him to figure out.
She always seemed defensive of the Faunus when the topic was brought up. One such example being when Cardin was bullying Velvet.
Although she didn't do anything, Ren was able to tell just how angry she was at Cardin. She seemed like she wanted to rip the man's balls off.
She was most likely holding herself back, as though she were trying to keep out of trouble.
Point is, Blake was clearly defensive of the Faunus. And beside that, he had seen her bow twitch when she was annoyed ot upset by something. As well as when she was embarrassed.
How no one else saw this, Ren didn't know. But she wasn't doing that good a job at hiding it.
Shaking his head, Ren decides to focus on the matter at hand.
"What did she say?" Ren asks, knowing Weiss had to have been the one to start the fight since Blake wasn't a confrontational person unless angry.
He stands up and offers a hand to Blake, who looks at it and wonders if she should take it. But once again, she looks into the eyes of Ren and feels compelled to do so, so she does. She takes Ren's hand, and he helps her up. She lets him lead her to one of the couches.
The two sit down, and Ren gives Blake a patient look, allowing her to decide whether or not she wants to answer him.
Blake looks away and bites her lip, wondering if she should tell him or not. She knows deep down that Ren wouldn't judge her, but her own fears and insecurities were clouding her judgement.
Ren, who was still holding Blake's hand, squeezes it as a sign of support. Blake feels this, and it gives her the courage to come clean.
She can trust Ren. He understands her more than anyone else in Beacon.
If he rejects her, she will be heartbroken. But the benefit far outweighs the risk in this situation.
Taking a breath, Blake begins explaining. "I... When we were out, we came across a Dust Robbery.. Weiss was accusing the Faunus of causing it, despite there not being any proof. I got upset, we began fighting, some things were said, and.." Blake says, hesitating to finish her sentence.
She was scared of Ren's reaction upon revealing that she was a Faunus, let alone revealing she used to be a part of the White Fang.
Ren could see how much Blake was struggling to get the rest out, and decides to help her out.
"You revealed that you were a Faunus?" He offers.
Blake looks at Ren with wide eyes. "Y-You knew?" She asks in shock.
Ren nods. "I've known for a while." He admits.
Blake begins stammering, as she couldn't believe Ren already knew she was a Faunus. One question pops up in her mind, and she voices it aloud.
"How?"
Ren looks at Blake blankly. "Seriously?" He asks incredulously.
Blake gives him a confused look.
"What?"
Ren sighs and facepalms. "Oum help me." He mutters under his breath before looking back to Blake.
"Bows don't just twitch, Blake." Ren says flatly.
Blake starts blushing in embarrassment, as she buries her face in her hands.
She didn't think anybody noticed that. But of course the ever-observant Ren would have noticed. Esepecially with how much time they spend together.
Blake lets out an embarrassed groan.
This causes Ren to smile, as he begins chuckling in amusement.
Blake looks at Ren with a blush on her face, as she pouts uncharacteristically.
"Don't laugh at me." She grumbles, which only makes Ren laugh harder.
Blake softly punched Ren on the arm, as he rubs it while still chuckling.
"Sorry. Sorry." Ren apologizes half-heartedly.
Blake looks at her and Ren's intertwined hands, as she couldn't bring herself to separate them. It was providing her with the courage she needed to continue.
"Why didn't you tell me?" Blake asks quietly.
It could have made things so much easier if Ren had told her he knew.
Ren calms himself down. He looks at Blake and shrugs. "It wasn't my secret to tell. I figured you would tell me when you were ready." Ren says simply.
Bake resists the urge to groan. Of course the oh-so noble Lie Ren would say something like that. He was too sweet for his own good. Blake muses.
"But that's not all that happened, is it? Something else happened that's got you this upset." Ren says knowingly.
Damn. She was hoping he wouldn't have noticed. She really wasn't ready to have this conversation.
But she was in too deep now. She needed to continue.
Taking a deep breath, Blake nods.
"Yeah... I..."Blake chokes up. Could she do it? Could she reveal she used to be a part of the White Fang? She didn't know. She was starting to lose her nerve.
Ren notices this, and while he didn't want to push her, he knew he couldn't help Blake unless he knew the full story.
He reaches to and cups Blake's chin, turning her head and forcing her to look at him.
Blake feels her cheeks heat up at this gesture, and was reminded of just how close she and Ren were in this moment.
Her eyes dart down to his lips, and she wonders what it would be like to kiss him, but she ruthlessly squashes those thoughts. Now wasn't the time for such thoughts. Oum knows she may just lose any chance of being with him in a few minutes.
"You know you can tell me anything, right?" Ren asks gently, as he stares right into the amber eyes of Blake.
Said person was able to see the sincerity in his own eyes, along with something she dare not hope to believe, lest she be disappointed. But the look in Ren's eyes was enough for Blake to know she could trust him.
Almost all of the fear she had in her body would dissappear with this one gesture.
Blake reaches up and removes Ren's hand from her chin, as she holds it in her own. He gives it a squeeze of encouragement.
Blake takes another calming breath, as she finally speaks. "I.. I revealed how I.. used to be a member of th White Fang." She admits.
She glances down, not wanting to see the face of rejection from Ren. But a hand cupping her cheek forces her to look back up.
Blake notices how Ren, while he did look surprised, didn't appear angry or disgusted like she thought he would be. His eyes still held the same kind look in them as before.
"I know there's more to it than that. Please, tell me everything." Ren calmly requests.
And so Blake does. She tells him everything.
How her parents used to be known figures in the White Fang.
How they used to be peaceful protestors, and how they transitioned into what they are now.
How she abandoned her parents for the White Fang.
Who Adam is, what he used to be to her, and the monster she saw him become.
She finally explains how she left the White Fang and the reason why.
Althroughout the explanation, Ren kept silent, listening and not interrupting once.
He did feel a brief bout of jealousy hearing about Adam, but felt anger at said man after hearing how badly he treated Blake.
After the explanation, Blake looks down at her lap once more, as tears come to her eyes once more.
"Do you hate me? Knowing I used to be part of a terrorist organization?" Blake asks, almost fearing the answer she would receive.
Ren pauses and takes the time to think about his answer.
Did he hate Blake? Of course not. He could never hate her.
He may not have known Blake well at first, but he likes to think he knows her well enough now
Blake wasn't someone who would support senseless violence. And seeing her speak of the White Fang the way she did shows just how heartbroken she was at the fact they became what they are today.
Did Ren agree with Blake for staying with them for as long as she did? No. It took her far too long to realize the White Fang weren't the same organization they used to be.
But at least Blake did eventually realize this and abandon that lifestyle. And Ren cared too much for Blake to ever hate her. For anything.
He didn't know how or why, but he had found himself falling for the amber Eyed girl ever since their first meet-up.
There was just something about her that drew him in, made him want to get to know her. It was partially why he invited her to stay that day.
Something about his thoughts of Blake changed along the way, and he never really realized it.
Bur seeing Blake in the state she was in confirmed it for Ren. He couldn't hate her. Never.
He loves her too much for that.
With that, Ren had a resolute answer to Blake's question.
"No." He says simply.
Blake looks up at Ren with shock. "No?" She repeats, dumbfounded. Ren nods.
"No." He reaffirms.
"Why not?!" Blake explodes, as she stands to her feet.
She was now crying, as the dam holding back her emotions is destroyed.
"Why don't you hate me?! I used to be a terrorist! I kept it a secret from everyone, including you! I killed people before!! So why don't you hate me?! WHY?!" Blake demands.
Ren was happy the librarian was using the loo, otherwise he was sure they'd have been kicked out by now.
"That's quite simple actually." Ren says, as be stands up as well, standing right in front of Blake, who was now crying.
He knew that he was about to take a big risk, especially after learning how Blake just got out of a relationship, but he needed to let her know he didn't hate her.
And what better way to show that than what he was about to do?
Ren puts his hands on Blake's shoulders and looks her directly in the eye.
"Because I love you." He admits.
Blake's breath hitches, and she looks up at Ren with wide eyes. "What?" She gasps.
Ren gently squeezes Blake's shoulders and nods his head. "I love you." He repeats.
Blake couldn't believe her ears. She had been hoping, praying that Ren felt the same way she did, but she never expected that he actually would. She never dared to hope that he could actually love her when he found out she was a Faunus.
Even now, after Blake revealed her past to him, Ren still said he loved her. After everything she did, he still loved her.
"Y-You do?" Blake asks meekly, praying to Oum that this wasn't some kind of prank.
Ren gives Blake a gentle smile as he swallows his nerves for what he is about to say. He had just laid his heart out to her, and it was up to her whether or not she rejected or accepted him.
"I do. More than anything." Said Ren.
Tears come to Blake's eyes, not or Sorrow, but of Joy.
She was overjoyed that Ren felt the same way she did. She had told him about the White Fang, and he still accepted her. He knew that she was a Faunus, and yet he still loved her regardless.
Blake engulfs Ren in a tight hug. "I love you too, Ren! I love you so much." Blake chokes out as she starts crying into his shoulder.
Ren feels his entire body sag in relief at Blake's words. His heart pounds at what Blake said. She loved him back. His affection for her wasn't as one-sided as he thought. And that made Ren want to scream out in joy.
Instead, he settles on hugging Blake back just as tightly as she is him.
After a minute, the two break the hug, but they were still in arms length of each other.
Ren gives Blake a gentle smile, which she returns happily. There was this sense of completion that both of them felt knowing the other felt the same.
"You really believe that I'm done with the White Fang? You don't think I'm a terrorist?" Blake asks hesitantly.
Ren smiles. "I trust you, Blake. I know you wouldn't support senseless violence. You said you were done with the White Fang, and I believe you." He answers.
This sends a wave of relief through Blake's body, as she was relieved someone was on her side.
She felt stupid for ever doubting Ren. She should have known that he would have been there for her.
But she now knew. She knew that if things did go badly, that at least had him by her side. And that meant more to Blake than anything.
Maybe she could trust her Team as well. If Ren trusted her, maybe they could to.
But that was a situation for a different time. Blake decides to focus on the man right in front of her. The man she loves.
Ren reaches up and cups Blake's cheeks, as he uses his thumbs to wipe away the tears on her face.
"I'll always be there for you. Whenever you need it." Ren promises.
Blake's smile grows, and lets out a small sniffle. "Always." She repeats.
Ren's eyes trail upwards to Blake's bow, as he reaches up towards it, but pauses and looks down at Blake.
"May I?" He asks quietly.
Blake swallow a little, and she nods her head nervously.
Ren reaches up and gently grasps on the ends of the bow. He pulls on them, unraveling the bow. When he pulls the ribbon off, he gazes upon Blake's ears.
Cat ears.
'So she's a cat Faunus? That explains why she loves Tuna so much.' Ren thinks dryly.
Banishing those thoughts, Ren looks down at Blake, who had most vulnerable look Ren had ever seen on her face.
He knew that whatever he said next would have a major effect on Blake, so he chooses his next words carefully.
Reaching his hand up to stroke one of Blake's ears, he feels her lean into his hand and purr affectionately, which he couldn't help but to smile at.
Blake opens her eyes, and Ren stares right into them to convey he was telling the truth.
"They're perfect. They show me the real you. The one you don't keep hidden." Said Ren.
Blake feels her eyes sting with tears once more.
Wow, she was really emotional today. But could you really blame her?
She wipes her eyes, feeling a surge of affection at Ren's words.
Not being able to hold herself back, she reaches up and cups Ren's face, as she pulls him down into a kiss.
Ren feels his heart hammer in his chest feeling Blake's soft lips on his own. He closes his eyes and begins kissing back, as he places his hands on Blake's waist.
Blake's own arms go around Ren's neck and pulls his head down, deepening the kiss.
There were no fireworks or Euphoria like described in Cheesy romance novels. But it left the two with a feeling of Content and indescribable happiness.
When the two break the kiss, Ren places his forehead to Blake's, as the two share a tender smile, one filled with love.
"Blake.. would you-" Ren was saying, but is cut off by Blake, who gives him a kiss that takes his breath away.
She pulls back a second later, and gives Ren a positively radiant smile.
"Of course I'll be your girlfriend!" Blake says happily, already knowing what Ren was going to ask.
Ren himself grows a massive smile when Blake accepts, as he picks her up and spins her around, the two laughing happily.
Were they moving a bit fast? Yes. But the life of a hunsman/huntress is a short one. You'll never know when the next day will be your last. So forgive them for not wanting to do things at a snail's pace.
Ren sits Blake back on the ground, as she takes his hand in hers and intertwines their fingers.
After a minute of silence, Ren speaks up. "What do you want to do now?" He asks, knowing Blake still had to talk with her team.
Blake, knowing what Ren was referring to, looks away. She bites her lip thoughtfully, and Ren has to resist the urge to kiss her senseless due to finding the gesture attractive.
She finally shakes her head, and gives Ren a pleading look. "Can we stay here a while, just you and me? I.. I don't think I'm ready to face my team just yet." Blake pleads.
Ren gives Blake an understanding smile, as he nods his head. "Of course." Taking Blake by the hand, he leads her over to one of the couches.
When the two sit down, Ren wraps an arm around Blake's waist and pulls her closer, as she puts her head on his shoulder.
Ren plants a kiss on the top of Blake's head, making her sigh happily and snuggle up to him.
"Let me tell you what happened after we finished playing truth or dare last night." Ren says, as he and Blake begin talking about any and everything.
This was easily the happiest moment of both of their lives, and they felt like there was nothing that could ruin it.
Sadly, this happiness would only be a temporary feeling, which will be stripped away from them due to the ambitions of a woman who wishes to see the world burn.
But in the end, through all the trials and tribulations, their love will remain strong and persevere.
As is the saying, "True love conquers all."
