Chapter 1-Prawn Night

"That was mad." Eliza said as she and Wyatt walked out of the school door, the cool evening breeze hitting them as they did so. Wyatt reached out and took her hand in his, smiling down at her.

"I know," Wyatt's eyes moved from her's, to the floor.

"I didn't know you could dance like that. I didn't know you could zombie out either. That was pretty cool" Eliza just blushed. "Do you want me to walk you home? I haven't got anything better to do."

"Yeah, sure." She tried to act nonchalant, but her stomach was doing backflips. She gently brushed her green, curly hair behind her ears, and tried to pluck up the courage to say something. Maybe along the lines of how much she liked him, how glad she was they had met and became friends, how happy she was that he wanted to walk her home. But what she didn't know was Wyatt was thinking the very same thing.

"Eliza," he finally said. She looked up at him, her dazzling brown eyes making Wyatt suddenly dizzy. He realised he couldn't say it, he couldn't ruin their friendship. "You looked really beautiful tonight." is what he said instead.

She smiled down at the floor.

"Thank you."

After a long conversation about college applications and which ones people were applying to, they finally reached Eliza's house.

"This is mine," she said, gesturing to the front door, "thanks for walking me home, I really. appreciate it." she pulled him into a hug, except it didn't feel awkward like she expected it to. It felt natural, like it was meant to be. He kissed her on the forehead, and pulled out of the hug, that seemed to last forever.

"Night." he said, and couldn't stop smiling.

"Night" she said, and nor could she.

After Eliza had shut the door, Wyatt began laughing, like a triumphant laugh. He was so happy he couldn't even begin to explain. He jogged down the road with a spring in his step, all the way back to the wolf den. All he could think about was how he had did it. He kissed his crush, even though it had been on the head, he had done it, and he was proud of himself.

Willa was the first one to greet him when he entered.

"You look happy." she had never seen him like this. "What happened after Prawn?" Wyatt said nothing. He simply lifted his sister up, spin her around, dropped her and kissed her on the cheek. Then he ran into his room, smile wider than the cheshire cats.

Wynter ran up to Willa, looking really confused, "Is he ok? He looks to happy to be…well, Wyatt" Willa nodded. "Eliza?"

"Probably." Then they both went to bed

Wyatt lay in bed that night, not able to sleep. How could he? He had been with the girl he liked all night, he had hugged her, he had kissed her on the head. He was proud of himself, he had plucked up the courage to do all of these things.

He honestly couldn't believe himself.
