Justice League x RWBY Crossover Part 1:
Running through the entire academy, Marrow Amin made his way to one of the training rooms for soldiers, huntsmen, and huntresses. What was supposed to be an ordinary training simulation for Team RWBY and Team JNR per the request of General Ironwood turned into a big problem. Marrow was left in charge of keeping an eye on the heroes while his team and the others went on to do their usual daily quests of the day. It was all going so smoothly from what he saw until an electrical charge turned the entire Academy's electricity off for a moment before turning back on. But none of the heroes woke up from the simulation and something was definitely wrong.
Once he arrived in the training room, he checked on everyone's pulse to find out they were still alive but still inside the simulation. The simulation was deactivated by the electrical charge so why didn't any of them wake up. He could ask anyone for help to get them back safely and removed the helmets but there was only one man he had in mind who could figure this out in a matter of minutes. Except he wasn't a man, he was a Time Lord, and his name is The Doctor.
Inside the TARDIS, it was all quiet and peaceful until a low static noise was heard nearby, and strings were being tested out. Soon after, The Doctor began to play his guitar to kill some time while waiting for Team RWBY to go on another epic adventure. No harm in practicing some killer songs as the young time lord was playing a guitar version of "Starman" By David Bowie and was having a blast imaging himself doing a concert until he heard an alert ringing and displaying on the screen panels to see it was an Emergency message from Marrow.
Marrow: Team RWBY and Team JNR are in trouble! I need your help Doctor ASAP!
Deep in the forests of Vale, a young man was regaining consciousness after being knocked out for who knows how long. Short, wavy black hair with blue eyes and quite the fit body for a teenage boy. His outfit was black layer shirt that drops to the length of his blue pants alongside red boots, a blue jacket with a red cape included, and a large crest in the center of his chest that has an S on it. His name was Clark Kent, but everyone knows him by the Man of Steel, Superman! And he had no idea where he was at.
Superman: *grunts* Where am I? And what am I wearing?
In front of him he saw dark beast like creatures attacking something or someone as blasts are heard from the other side before a dash of red blur went past him to kill one of those creatures. He then saw a short girl with red hood and a blonde brawler at the scene. It was Ruby and Yang but they were in their Beacon outfits.
Yang: Ruby, you got it? *Reloads Ember Celica*
Ruby: Got it! *Kills a Grimm and notices it glitch* Uh...Why does it look like that?
Superman: What are those things?!
Yang: Grimm! *Keeps shooting Grimm*
Ruby: *flies to Superman* Are you okay? Anything hurt?
Yang: Uhhhh since when can Grimm shoot laser beams?! *Dodges one*
Ruby: Be right back new kid! *Flies over to Yang*
Superman: *sighs* I don't think I'm in Kansas anymore!
While the Man of Steel got up to assist the girls in any way, back in Atlas Marrow was waiting for the Doctor to appear as he heard the wheezing mechanical noise as the TARDIS had arrived and out came the Doctor.
Marrow: It's all sort of weird and concerning. Anyone here would just try to reset or remove the helmets, but I thought you would take a look first.
The Doctor: *scans everyone with my Sonic Screwdriver* And you did the right thing Marrow. What exactly was all this setup? All I was told was they were doing a training mission.
Marrow: Usually to prepare fighters minds and have a sharp mental focus, we go through these simulations to train as if we are actually fighting Grimm. That was the plan with them until we were hit with some electrical charge that shut everything down for a few seconds before everything went back up.
The Doctor: And you wonder, why haven't they woken up?
Marrow: The simulation should have went down and bring everyone back unless...Oh no!
The Doctor: They're not brain dead...yet. But we do have a critical situation here. Khan, I need a full scan of this room and electrical connections plus a database of the simulations.
Dalek Khan: Understood! Give me 10 minutes!
Marrow: So you care to explain what's going on?
The Doctor: They're awake but they are trapped in the simulation world with the thought of everything happening in there is real. Which means we need to find a way to reach to them that they are in danger.
Marrow: Is it safe to remove the helmets?
The Doctor: NO! That's the critical part where even I can't use my Sonic Screwdriver to deactivate this. If we try any way to remove it, it will be fatal. Memory Loss, Brain Damage,...even Death...They are the only ones who can escape this. All we could do is give them signals.
Back in the virtual world of Remnant, the Grimm were defeated by the triple team of Ruby, Yang, and Superman with the man of steel unlocking his laser eyes to blast the remaining Grimm left.
Ruby: Uhhhh thanks for that!
Superman: *sighs* That was nothing. I should be able to do more with my... What did you call it? Semblance? *Looks at the sky* It looks like Earth's Sun. Except it feels...different...
Ruby: Earth...is your world? Because you're from a different world. Because that's a thing.
Yang: Well, that would explain...*looks at Superman* A few things. What's your name kid?
Superman: *chuckles* Just call me Superman! *poses*
Yang: *blinks* Yeaaaaaah No!
Ruby: Hehe, do you have, uh, a regular name?
Superman: *grunts* Uh... Yeah...just call me Clark. Where am I?
Ruby: This...is Remnant!
Yang: So...how did you get here Clark?
Superman: *holds my head* I...don't remember anything. Just images. I was fighting something with my friends...as an adult?
Ruby: Are you sure you didn't hit your head or something?
Yang: I mean we just saw Grimm shoot laser beams.
Superman: Something is wrong. I messed up your world by being here. I have to fix it.
Ruby: Whenever anything gets...weird, you can bet there's two people in this world who knows what's going on. Let's start with Professor Ozpin.
The three head off to Beacon Academy despite all of this still being very weird for them. Ruby and Yang paused for a moment as they felt their hands little warmer than usual. They both look at their hands to see their names "RUBY!", "YANG!" written on it which freaks them out. Right after looking at each other, their written names are gone and instead a small message that says, "STAY AWAKE!"
They weren't the only ones with that same message in their hands. That message clouded her mind until she kept hearing her mother's voice calling out to her. This is Blake and she was back in Menagerie and back home.
Kali: Blake?
Blake: Huh? Sorry mom. What did you say?
Kali: *sighs* I worry about you. What you and your friends are doing...you're all just children.
Blake: *holds her hand* But I'm not a child anymore Mom. I haven't been for a while.
Kali: That's exactly what worries me. I'm glad you're on break from Beacon. But you and your friends...you're against so much danger...
Blake: *hugs her* I'll always come back to you Mom.
As the mother and daughter shared their moment of embrace, a knock was heard at the door followed by the guards entering the room with a suspicious girl tied up. Blake observed her as she was a slightly muscular woman with long black hair tied into a ponytail. She was wearing a red and black top with golden eagle design around it, navy skirt with a red and golden trimmed in the middle, black tight leggings, red high heel boots, and a golden tiara on the top. This was Amazonian Mightiest Warrior, Diana Prince, also known as Wonder Woman.
Kali: Rolf, what's going on? Who is this?
Rolf: The guards were down at the docks doing their rounds and found a suspicious character.
Kali: Has she said anything?
Wonder Woman: She! Has some questions!
Breaking free easily from the ropes, Wonder Woman fought against the guards were surrounded and while they tried, they were not close to being able to take her down as she quickly handled them with her speed and strength which was rarely common in Remnant. But she wasn't fast enough to hear a gun load click right behind her head as she slowly turned around to see Blake holding Wonder Woman at gunpoint.
Blake: Impressive. How's this for an answer?
Wonder Woman: *sighs and puts my hands up* I don't want to cause harm. I just asked to be taken to their leader.
Blake: Who are you?
Wonder Woman: I am Diana, Princess of the Amazons! Can you help me?
Wonder Woman gave the basic information for Blake to understand and hoping it wasn't too weird or confusing to understand but the look of Blake seems like she knows a thing or two about this sort of stuff.
Blake: A Princess. From another world. And no memory of how you got here?
Wonder Woman: I see flashes...in them I'm an adult. But I don't feel like that. I feel like I'm 16.
Blake: Seems like some kind of universal tampering to bring you to our world. I still don't get the age change thing though.
Wonder Woman: No kidding. What I do know is that the further I'm away from my word, the more people are in danger. I have to get back!
Blake: Maybe my team can help you! Let me call Yang!
Kali: Blake, the CCT has been down for a while, don't you remember?
Blake: I...I don't. *Holds my head* In that case we'll go to Beacon. Because if communications are down across kingdoms, then our best option would be the only man who defies the odds.
Wonder Woman: And who would that be?
Blake: *smiles* The Doctor! *Looks at my scroll* Why isn't the CCT fixed yet? Are they having a party or something?
Wonder Woman: A Doctor? Doctor Who?
Weiss: I CAN'T believe you're having a party!
Meanwhile in Atlas at the Schnee Mansion, an angry Weiss Schnee continued to connect her scroll to reach out to her friends but with the CCT down it was no use and instead of working on it, her father is having another of his greed parties.
Weiss: Father, you're acting like it doesn't matter that the communication system is down! You know something is wrong but as usual, you won't sacrifice the dust needed to help people!
Jacques: *sighs* Weiss, you can handle a few months being away from your friends. It's not my job to fix the CCT either.
Weiss: *grunts* IF NOT US, THEN WHO?!
Taking a deep breath after raising her voice at her father, Weiss marches off as the party continues. Heading up to the second floor, she continued to reach out to her friends, but the same message kept appearing of "No Connection" yet when she tries to call The Doctor, her scroll glitches which frustrates and worries her.
Weiss:*sighs* Where are you, Doctor? I could really use a nice trip out of this world. *Looks down* Wha- *picks up the suit confused* Someone's disappointed this isn't a Halloween party.
As Weiss threw the outfit into one of the smaller rooms, she did not notice an unconscious man in there and his clothes taken as well. As she turned around, she truly thought she saw The Doctor at first glimpse, but it was a young stranger instead which brought her mood down again. He wore a formal black suit and was a muscular boy with smooth black hair. This was the Dark Knight himself, Bruce Wayne also known as The Batman.
Batman: "Nero fiddled while Rome burned". I saw your outburst with your dad. Can't say I blame you. The rich are the same in every universe, chronically ignorant to the plights of others.
Weiss scoffed at the young boy talking to her as she watched the rest of the party from the second floor. She hoped this guy was just talking to her as company and not trying to hit up cause she wouldn't mind hurting the boy's feelings that she has someone else.
Batman: I'm not one for parties either. I usually try to find some secret room to hole up in. You ever tried it?
Weiss: Mmm. A dust lab wouldn't be at the top of my preferred hiding places. Though recently,...I sure would love to be in the TARDIS and away from here.
Batman: TARDIS? And Dust? As in like specific dust or...general dust?
Weiss: Schnee's deal in general dust. Can't allow ourselves to limit the natural energy sources we can use.
Batman: O-Of course! Cause dust is an energy source. Right.
Weiss: *looks at him confused* I thought I knew all the upper-class families. At least the ones that have access to the labs.
Batman: I'm from a little further out.
Weiss: Mistral? Vacuo?
Batman: Sure!
Weiss: Long way from home.
Batman: *takes out my hand* Bruce. Bruce Wayne. Ever been to Mistral?
Suddenly, Mistral took a hit on her brain as she gets flash memories of her travelling on a Cargo ship to Mistral before shaking her head off again. Then more memories flash of her with her friends together in Atlas, travelling with the Doctor as well before she hears his voice calling out to her.
Weiss: *grunts and holds my head* Mm, Bruce Wayne, you said?
Jacques: THIEF! Someone stole my lab key!
Weiss groaned knowing who the culprit in this situation is as Bruce Wayne was backing away slowly. She grabbed his arm quickly and was about to head down to report, but the young Dark Knight pulled away hoping he could convince her.
Batman: Weiss, Wait! I need your help!
Weiss: I don't help common theives!
Batman: Something is wrong. And I think I may know what it is! Your memories. You're having a hard time connecting to them. They're like soup in your brain, right?
A FEW MOMENTS LATER :/
Weiss: *pushes Bruce down the stairs* Here's your thief!
Batman: *grunts* Weiss, Listen! I'm not from Vacuo! Or Mistral! Or Remnant at all! I have to get to a lab to figure out what brought me here so I can go back!
It didn't work at all as guards tried to hold down the Dark Knight, but he quickly maneuvered out and fought back against the guards. He continued to do so until Weiss leaps into the battle and finally gives him a fight. She was fast and agile which reminded him of Catwoman as Batman continued to dodge and lay a few hits on her until Weiss used her glyphs that freeze his lower body to avoid escape. Everyone was getting closer to him as he struggles to escape until he felt something ripping through his back and suddenly, he was in the air. The others watched as Batman was flying with his own pair of bat wings which impressed and confused the Dark Knight.
In this world, Bruce Wayne was a Faunus, and he was already having trouble flying as he tried to balance himself, but Weiss took the opportunity to strike him down and ending this chaotic scene. The guards handcuffed him and took him away on the orders of Jacques Schnee.
Jacques: He must work for the White Fang. But a terrorist organization will never scare the Schnees! You know I'm right Weiss. *Walks away*
Weiss: ...You know we're out of place.
Weiss watched as Bruce was taken away and looked at the scenery around herself until she looked up to see The Doctor but everything around was getting fuzzy.
The Doctor: WEISS!
She rubbed her eyes only to see that the Doctor was not there anymore which worried her that something was off. She felt that warmth in her hand again as she looked at it and her eyes widened in horror at the message.
"IT'S A TRAP!"
In the training simulation room, the Doctor was the one writing the small messages on Team RWBY's hand to alert them that they were not in the real world at the moment, and they were in danger. Time was speeding up on him which has him thinking of any fast plans on how to resolve this situation.
Marrow: Did it work? Did they get the message?
The Doctor: I certainly hope so. My biggest concern is how much time they all have. The potential bad scenarios are growing more as time passes by. What else do you know about these simulations?
Marrow: While these are to train our fighters, there are also levels of difficulty from Rookie training to pro training. There are also levels of confronting Grimm stronger, bigger, and deadlier.
BINGO! That gave The Doctor a piece to near completing this puzzle as he ran back inside the TARDIS and connected his Sonic Screwdriver on the console. As Dalek Khan had the database of the simulation ready, the Doctor used the controls to break the matrix and look through what level Team RWBY and the others were on.
Marrow: What do you got Doc?
Dalek Khan: Using the database I collected and the TARDIS, he has carefully entered the simulation in hoping to see where our friends are located.
The Doctor: They're not alone. Everything else is detected to be part of the simulation except for them of course. But who are they?
Marrow and Dalek Khan looked at the IDs to see Team RWBY, JNR, and the Justice League which neither of the three have no idea who they are. On screen displayed Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman with the addition of Victor Stone aka Cyborg who remains the same except for looking like a teenager, Barry Allen aka The Flash who had stylish platinum blonde hair while wearing a red and yellow tracksuit with an orange scarf and goggles, Mari McCabe aka Vixen who just like Batman was a Faunus having a fox tail on her back and wearing a dark orange zipper shirt with dark gray short sleeves, black arm warmers, and dark brown pants, and the final member was Jessica Cruz aka Green Lantern who unlike everyone else was in her pre-teen years with a look of styled brown hair and green highlights, wearing a black and white turtleneck shirt with green lantern design in the center, sage green jacket, sage green short shorts with black leggings, and black and white sneakers.
The Doctor: I assume they are not a part of the training simulation either?
Marrow: N-No! That's impossible! It's only Team RWBY and Team JNR who should be in there!
The Doctor: Well, that certainly brings my theory to confirmation if those other people with our friends are not NPCs. They are real and they are from a different world. And so, someone decided to play mind games and bring them to our world. Looks like the stakes are higher than expected Marrow. You and Khan slowly go through each level until you find them, I'll keep trying to message them.
Back in the simulation of Beacon, Ruby, Yang, and Superman were heading to the headmaster floor where they hope to get some answers from Professor Ozpin as to what's happening. One thing that bothered the girls, how on Remnant did Clark speedwalk and is not tired while they are dying from running.
Ruby: *pants* How are you not tired?!
Yang: *pants* We ran the whole way!
Superman: Yeah I guess. It's my semblance? As long as I'm not in the shade, you said it was the...the physical something of my something?
Ruby: Physical manifestation of your aura.
Superman: Aura. Right!
Yang: Basically your soul.
Superman: Got it. I think. Does this place...feel sort of...empty to you guys? We didn't run into anyone on the way here.
Ruby: You're right, but Ozpin will have the answers. He always does.
DING!
The elevator doors opened as the trio looked up and entered the headmaster's room only to find out they weren't alone. Across the room, Ruby and Yang saw Blake to Yang's delight but they also saw another girl with her which Superman immediately recognized as Wonder Woman.
Blake: Yang?
Yang: BLAKE! *Hugs her and spins her around chuckling*
Blake: *giggles* Happy to see you too Yang *smiles softly*
Ruby: Ahem! You got pulled into this weirdness too?
Blake: Guess we all have the same idea. Have you guys had any contact with Weiss or the Doctor?
Yang: No luck.
Ruby: I tried reaching out to Khan, but he and the Doctor don't appear on my scroll.
Superman: Wonder Woman?
Wonder Woman: Superman! *Hugs him*
Blake: Superman?
Ruby: Yeah, we just call him Clark.
Superman: This is my friend, Diana. Diana, this is Ruby and Yang.
Wonder Woman: And this is Blake. Do we know if the others are here?
Superman: You're the first familiar scene that I've seen.
Wonder Woman: Well, *scoffs* mostly familiar. We weren't teenagers before this, right?
Ruby: Well, uh, what do you remember?
Wonder Woman: Just...*holds my head* Flashes. We were fighting something.
As the two heroes continued to talk, Team RBY all felt something within their hands as they slowly looked at each other then opened their hands to see three words on each of their hands forming a grim message. OPEN YOUR MIND
Flashes began to hit all three girls as Blake remembers revealing herself to be a Faunus then the Fall of Beacon which had the girls gasp and getting the attention of both heroes.
Blake: This...This is all wrong!
Ruby: Beacon... It fell...Guys...*looks at my hand* This isn't right. And someone is trying to warn us about it...
Wonder Woman: That could explain why we're teens. Maybe...Did we do this?
All their talks came to a halt when they heard an elevator ring and out came Professor Ozpin to the shock of Ruby, Blake, and Yang who remember very clearly that he is now part of their friend Oscar. It was moments like these they needed the Doctor but the three would continue to look around their surroundings for any clues.
Ozpin: Students!
Blake: Ozpin?
Yang: Do you know what's going on? The Grimm are acting really weird! They shoot lasers!
Ozpin: You shouldn't be here.
Ruby: Professor Ozpin? Is that really you?
Superman: Uh, is changing into a small boy his semblance?
The others watched what Superman meant and saw that Ozpin glitched out and transformed into young Oscar. Now they knew something was weird and starting to get freaky here.
Ruby: Ozpin died. Then reincarnated into Oscar.
Wonder Woman: *grunts* Ugh! *Picks up Oscar* Tell us what's going on? Where are our friends?
Yang: *blushes softly* WOOF! She is...Ahem! Very strong!
Blake: *annoyed* And?
Yang: *panics* G-Gah! Uh...just an observation!
Once again, a glitch occurs as Oscar is reverted back to Professor Ozpin as Wonder Woman let him go. Things were becoming more concerning, they needed answers Now!
Ozpin: You five should be in training. There's been a report of Grimm on the edge of town. Come with me. *Walks away*
Blake: That was weird?
Wonder Woman: Should we follow him?
Ruby: We need to get things back to normal as soon as possible. Let's go!
The five students proceeded to follow Ozpin in hopes it actually leads to somewhere important where they could find the others and find more clues on what's going on. With Team RBY being the last to leave, they all feel something and instantly turn around to see The Doctor standing there.
The Doctor: Open Your Mind!
The girls rubbed their eyes to be sure, but he was no longer there which confused them. The same message was in their heads as to what it meant to open their minds. As they left, a green ring was left on the table as it was starting to glow.
Back in Atlas, the real world, The Doctor, Marrow, and Dalek Khan continued working on the simulation with hopes of getting access to where their friends and the other students are at. The warnings aren't enough, and they need to act now.
The Doctor: Give me something you two!
Marrow: This...this isn't right at all...
Dalek Khan: Scans detect an exact replica of Beacon, Schnee Castle, Menagerie.
The Doctor: Is Beacon Academy part of the simulation?
Marrow: Only as a setting but...this is showing that they are inside of Beacon Academy which is impossible.
The Doctor: *looks at him offended* I'm a 500-year-old alien with advanced time travelling technology. At this point, nothing should be impossible. The real observation here is why is there a separate level from all the levels in the simulation and why specifically does it only have Atlas, Beacon, and Menagerie.
Dalek Khan: Scans also detect this separate level has security field to prevent any breach.
The Doctor: Someone doesn't want us to enter, and they are the ones doing the work. I need to find a way to code myself into the system, give me about a good 10 minutes or so in there to help them out. They're the only ones who can find the way out, I can't do much but assist.
Marrow: So what do we do then?
The Doctor: Khan, keep working on the database. Marrow, you are going to keep writing messages on their hands. They'll feel it and they will read it.
Marrow: Okay? What about you?
The Doctor: *looks at Weiss* I need to make a call.
Back in the simulation world specifically Atlas, Weiss was in her room trying to figure everything that occurred within the last hour. She inspected the costume Bruce Wayne left behind and was still trying to figure out about him as well.
Weiss: This doesn't feel right at all. Something- No, everything feels off.
As she continued to look for answers, her scroll was ringing but when she picked it up, her scroll screen was glitching to her concern. The CCT was off completely yet it kept ringing and glitching until the contact's name appeared on her screen and her eyes widened. It was the Doctor.
Weiss: *answers* Doctor? Doctor! Can you hear me?
The Doctor: Weiss! Can you hear me?
Weiss: YES! I can hear you!
The Doctor: Weiss listen to me! I don't have much time on here, I need you to listen to me and call me by video. I am here! I am real! But I need you to do as I say.
Weiss felt the worry and rushing voice of her Doctor and did as he asked. She placed her phone on the table and called the Doctor via video call which caused the scroll to glitch again but eventually it goes through and there he was on her scroll.
Weiss: Doctor! What's going on?
The Doctor: Well, I patched my scroll onto the TARDIS with the help of my Sonic and I am calling you through the TARDIS phone. Weiss, I know what this is. I know what's happening, and I know what's at stake. You are trapped in a simulation.
The Doctor moved his screen to display a horrifying sight to Weiss. She saw herself sitting with a device wrapped around her eyes then the Doctor showed that the others are in the same trap as well. This caused a trigger to Weiss's brain as more flashes occurred: Fall of Beacon, Battle at Haven, the Void, The Saving of the Universe with the 12th Doctor, The Daleks, and arriving to Atlas. It all came back to her and now it made much more sense as to what was going on.
Weiss: I remember now...We were supposed to be training in a simulation.
The Doctor: Someone has hijacked the simulation and has trapped all of you alongside 7 other people that I don't know.
Weiss: I think I met one of them. Bruce Wayne! He said something was off about all of this as well.
The Doctor: I don't have much time left because whoever is behind this knows I broke into their little trap, and they are trying to kick me out. I need you to get to him, find the others, and find the way out. Once I figure a crack in the system, I'll come in to help but for right now, Khan, Marrow, and I are doing the outside work!
Weiss: I'm assuming freeing us or shutting down the simulation won't work?
The Doctor: No and Don't try to regenerate either! You'll free your body, but your mind will forever be trapped in the neurolink device. As for everyone else, it could be brain damage, paralyzed, or death.
This was a lot to take in for Weiss but she understood what needed to be done and knew what she needed to do first. Her scroll started to glitch again which meant the call was coming to an end.
Weiss: No. No. No. No. Doctor! DOCTOR!
The Doctor: It's kicking me out! Do what I asked you to do Weiss. Handle the simulation in there while we continue out here! *static* I'll try to reach you again soon! *static* Good Luck! *static* Love you!
Weiss: DOCTOR!
And with that, her call with the Doctor was cut completely as her scroll reverted to no signal. Taking a deep breath trying to relax herself, she grabbed her Myrtenaster and the key to the lab alongside the costume of Bruce Wayne. If he and 6 others of his friends are stuck in here like her and her friends, this meant big trouble. She knew it was time to crack down the case starting with him.
Weiss: Right! Off We Go!
Diana, this is Ruby and Yang.
